The fakest custom tailor of all time…read more These guys take your measurements then send them to china. What you get back is a suit cut like a burlap sack and WAY off on every measurement. They then start to hack away at that to try and make it fit you. The single worst suit purchase I've ever made and it was unfortunately for my wedding day. Suit is awful quality material and threads constantly coming out of it. The local laundromat commented that no matter what they do it just bleeds threads and seems to be very cheap fabric. Basically you will spend thousands for the equivalent of a poor fitting indochino suit.

He helped us figure out which colors would work together while still fitting our budget. Alex and his coworkers were genuinely excited each time we came in for a fitting. You can tell they take pride in their work and that they strive to make something that is special and perfect for you. I am extremely disappointed with the tuxedo rental service at Clothing From Italy…read more Initially I was excited to get a fine tuxedo for a wedding in Italy, even knowing that it would cost over $400 - more than twice as much as one I could get locally. I had a video conference on 6/4/25 to review tuxedo measurements and my need date because I was flying out three weeks later. With no update by 6/15/25, I emailed Mr. Rubini regarding my concern about delivery time. With no response by 6/19, I called Mr. Rubini to cancel my order. He assured me he could get it to me in time and I signed/returned the rental agreement the next day. Mr. Rubini assembled and shipped the tuxedo that day, 6/20/25 - via USPS! The tuxedo was delivered to my house on 6/30/25, four days AFTER I left for Italy. I returned the tuxedo as soon as I got home. I requested a full refund from Clothing For Italy on 7/26/25. With a chance to do the right thing, Mr. Rubini did not respond. I hope you get better service with Clothing From Italy.

Extremely Disappointed - Poor Service, No Accountability…read more I had a very frustrating experience with Giuliano at Clothing From Italy. I came in on Thursday, 5/22/25, needing a tuxedo rental by the following Thursday. I was fully aware that this was a tight timeframe, so I asked multiple times if it would be possible. Giuliano assured me it would be ready by Saturday. During this initial visit, I was treated well--he took my measurements and discussed options with me. However, when I came in on Tuesday, 5/26/25, for the scheduled pickup, Giuliano didn't recognize me and had clearly forgotten the order. Nothing had been prepared. He apologized and promised it would be ready the next day, adding that he would call me once it was done. I reminded him that I absolutely needed the tux by 11 a.m. Thursday to catch a train. By late Wednesday, I still hadn't heard from him, so I called. He had forgotten again--this time blaming the tailor. During the call, I again emphasized my Thursday deadline, and he reassured me it would be ready. Shockingly, about 30 minutes later, Giuliano called again asking what he could do for me, clearly forgetting our earlier conversation. When I arrived Thursday morning (5/29/25), Giuliano wasn't there. Another staff member helped me try on the tux, which was in unacceptable condition. Two pairs of pants were included--neither tailored and both far too small. The tuxedo jacket was the wrong style (one-button instead of two) and was missing a button. The shirt was boxy and unflattering. To her credit, the employee acknowledged the situation and told me Giuliano would arrive shortly. I returned after 30 minutes and waited another 15 for him to show up. When Giuliano finally arrived, he was defensive and blamed the tailors again, citing his lack of sleep. We spent nearly an hour trying to piece together a functional outfit. I ended up with a jacket that fit reasonably well (though it had a poorly attached button), loose-fitting pants, and the same boxy shirt. At the last minute, Giuliano said he'd swapped the shirt for a better-fitting one and placed it in the garment bag. I didn't have time to try it on, as I had already missed two trains. At the wedding the next day, I opened the bag to find that the shirt was unusable--torn, stained, and missing buttons. There was also a hole in the pants. Thankfully, I had brought a backup shirt and suit. I was able to wear the jacket, pants, and bow tie, but the condition and fit were far below what I was led to expect. I also felt overcharged for the shirt, cufflinks, and tailoring that never happened. Upon returning the tux, I explained the issues to Giuliano and requested a partial refund. He deflected blame again, claiming the cleaners had damaged the shirt and even suggested the hole in the pants could have been my fault. He refused a refund, citing a policy against refunds on custom items--even though no real tailoring had been done. He instead offered a future rental credit of $400, which I declined. Shortly after, Giuliano sent me an email making false claims: that I tried everything on before leaving and was satisfied with the tux. That is simply untrue--I never got to try on the final shirt, and I was not "happy" with the suit as it was a 1 button rather than 2 (what I requested) I just did not have the time to fix all of Giuliano's errors.. He also criticized me for not contacting him sooner, despite me visiting the store multiple times and making my time constraints very clear. By the time I saw the condition of the Shirt that Giuliano swapped out it was too late for him to do anything. At every turn, Giuliano failed to take responsibility, follow through on promises, or deliver the quality of service expected. Rather than tell me from the start that my timeline was too tight for him, he overpromised and failed to deliver. I lost time, money, and peace of mind trying to make this work. I strongly advise others to avoid Clothing From Italy and Giuliano if you value professionalism, accountability, and basic customer service.

I've always found it difficult to find suits off-the-rack, so I tend to just go bespoke. Growing up, my grandmother was a seamstress and my mom worked in a tuxedo shop for most of my childhood--I had a custom tux with tails by the time I was 4. So I'm pretty familiar with the process. I have had suits made all over the world, from the Midwest to Hong Kong. It is a dying artform. I figured that when I moved to a big city full of professionals like Boston, I wouldn't have such a tough time finding a made-to-measure place. Turns out, I was wrong. Boston is completely devoid of tailors who will make women's pantsuits. Why? I couldn't tell you. So, I frankly chose Alan because I had no other option. Was it a good decision? Yes. Alan is charming and professional. His shop has a choice location. He's very thorough. I love his dog, who is the sweetest most well-behaved animal I've seen (those with allergies be forewarned--the dog comes with the office, so medicate as necessary). His assistant is also a sweetheart. The suit took awhile to finish. Maybe 4 months altogether. But I wasn't in a rush. It fits well and I wear it on a regular basis. It came in my absolute fav garment bag. The biggest caveat is price. Suits start between $2-3k. So, while I love Alan, I'm not baller enough to fill my closet with him. If you do have that kind of cash flow, I can't recommend him highly enough.

Enzo has a great selection of fabrics for suits and shirts--I came in today to pick up a shirt (which fit perfectly) and also grabbed an awesome pair of knot cufflinks. Be sure to check out their beautifulll Emerald Green fabric, which makes for an absolutely stunning suit. The shop is also well appointed but a touch on the minimalist side, which is perfect.
