We went to this place to celebrate our son's graduation. We really liked the ambiance here. The noise level was minimal. The food was delicious. One thing needs improvement is a more complete description of the food in the menu. I'm gluten free and ordered calf's liver. I didn't realize that it's coated in flour before frying. I had to ask the server. The server didn't know about it either. However she put an effort to find out that part for me and as a result I got a g/f version of the meal. The food was absolutely delicious and the staff were incredible. My Wife and I went for our anniversary dinner, I had the chicken piccata and she had a Caprese salad with a bowl of clam chowder. The clam chowder was absolutely delicious. The chicken piccata was the best I've ever had. I have absolutely zero complaints. We also had the lemon berry mascarpone cake. That too was incredible. The service at Joseph's is really nice, very attentive, helpful and knowledgeable. The food is good, but not great. I had the special, which was Sea Bass served on pasta with a broth of wine, herbs, garlic. It also had chopped tomatoes, a piece of carrot (a finger carrot that appeared as though it had been taken out of a package of snacking carrots), a thin piece of asparagus and piece of broccoli. The fish was cooked perfectly, unfortunately, the dish tried to too much. The sauce was overpowering, very salty and red, not white. The tomatoes were overkill. I think if that beautiful piece of fish had been served in a gentle white wine broth with a bit of garlic and herbs over pasta, it would have been beautiful. The asparagus was a nice accompaniment, but the broccoli and carrot looked like they belonged to another dish. We tried the bananas foster and chocolate cake for dessert. The cake was so cold the frosting was very stiff, and it wasn't anything special. The bananas foster was just ok, though the presentation was very nice with it being cooked at the table. The wine list is quite good and reasonably priced. I likely will not return, there are other restaurants in the same price range that I think have better food. read more

We made our reservation for Joseph's very last minute. We were definitely not prepared and were very limited with choices due to Covid limitations at all of the restaurants in the area. I was trying to find something a bit more casual because I was traveling with kids and we had just spent the day out hiking. I'm very happy to say we were all very happy with our decision to eat here. Although we showed up at 8:15 pm, with 3 kids and none of us looking our best we were warmly greeted. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and they have partitions set up between all of the tables. All of the guests have their own little private areas. Service was excellent and attentive. Food was fresh and delicious. Dessert was yummy. Although the name suggests otherwise, this is not an overly fancy restaurant and I'm very glad we went. We will definitely return when we're in the area again (and return better dressed). read more

If you live in Colorado Springs or you're visiting and looking for a perfect dining out, then you must go to this restaurant! It's definitely the best service, food and ambiance I've experienced since relocating here five years ago! Joseph, the owner came to say hello and to tell us that the swordfish was the special, delicious and flown in today. (We went on 3/23/2023). I asked him if he was the owner and he said yes. His brother, (I don't remember his name) served us. Impeccable grace, and service. I asked if he was his brother, because he kind of looked like Joseph and he said yes. He was thoroughly experienced and knowledgeable of the menu, which is quite extensive and unusual. It definitely has an Italian flare. Entrées prices were reasonable but I think the appetizer are an expensive side ($20+), but the quality is probably outstanding and would justify the price. I forgot to take a picture of the menu. Because we had gone to "Lumin8" first for drinks and appetizers, we didn't have appetizers at Joseph's. I have one of the best martinis I've had since I've been in Colorado Springs. The absolute best martini I have had so far is at McKenzie's Chophouse. this is definitely the next best if not equal, my date had the old fashion both were poured stronger than most places and very tasty. I don't know what the prices on the alcohol were but I remember they were in the same range is everybody else about $14. Those are the specialty drinks. I don't know what my martini cost but I got Hendrix gin, so probably about the same price. We were served fresh homemade rolls, or very good quality if not, homemade with whipped butter, and they were outstanding. He got the swordfish and it was outstanding. I got the surf and turf, which is ribeye and grilled shrimp. mine came with bacon, wrapped asparagus. It was amazing and grilled potatoes. He had grilled potatoes and vegetables with his. My steak was so delicious. I don't even know what vegetables he had. I was too busy enjoying every single bite of my entrée. I tried his swordfish and it was really good as well. This was definitely the best steak I've had since I've been in Colorado Springs, and I've been to MANY of the "high-end"restaurants. My steak was cooked and seasoned perfectly! The ambiance is romantic. The decorations are a bit outdated but charming, and work with the style of the restaurant. Instead of dessert, we had cocktail drinks. I had a brandy and he had Drambuie. Our bill was at $240! I would definitely go back for the entrées and skip the cocktails. probably I probably would have one glass of red wine with my steak if I got the same thing again. Which I would because it's that good. Although there's many other dishes, I would like to try. They have unique things on the menu, which is really a nice change from other restaurants. We hadn't eaten at Joseph's for a couple years and on a whim I made reservtions for a Fridy night. My wife and I both were surprised how wonderful and relaxing the experience was (I guess my memory is fading!). Everything was wonderful, the food was great, nice wine and cocktails, but the best is the level of service. Outstanding!!! Wow, was I impressed with Joseph's in Colorado Springs! We came straight off our flight from Los Angeles to meet my in-laws, and this place exceeded all our expectations. We visit the Springs several times a year and eat out often, and this is hands down one of the best places we've been to. The ambiance at Joseph's is both charming and unpretentious. It felt like stepping into someone's "dream restaurant," made with sweat, tears, and a vision come true. The twinkle lights and room dividers provide large groups with privacy while maintaining a cozy atmosphere, something that's hard to find these days. The menu was extensive and elegant. We started with the crab-stuffed mushroom appetizers--absolutely delicious. My son and I shared a delectable wedge salad, and there was plenty of variety to choose from. For dinner, I opted for the special: Chilean sea bass in a tomato broth. The fish was cooked to perfection, melting in my mouth, and served over linguine with fresh veggies. Everyone at our table enjoyed their meals, from steaks to shellfish. For dessert, we were treated to tableside bananas foster, prepared by the owner himself. It was delightful! The wine was delicious and generously poured. The service was friendly and felt very homey. Everything tasted fresh and made with love. I had not been here in over 10 years since they moved to this new location. I had the fried calamari as an appetizer. It was tough and very chewy. I don't recommend. Next I had the sirloin steak, it was huge and excellent. The sides were mashed potatoes with some fresh vegetables that were good. This is our favorite "go-to" place for a special occasion or when we're just in the mood to feel like royalty. We've been here many, many times for both lunch and dinner. Your dining experience starts with warm, fresh-baked bread and lots of butter. I HIGHLY recommend you then choose the Hot Spinach Pernod salad. It is prepared table-side and truly is my best-loved salad anywhere. It has plentiful bacon chips, heated with lots of butter, brown sugar and red onion, then flambeed with Pernod. It is served on a heated plate, and your taste buds will think you've died and gone to heaven. If your vegetarian, you can omit the bacon and it is still terrific. If your afraid you'll run out of room for the rest of the meal, you can split one salad with your companion...whatever you want, they will bend over backwards to make it happen. Next, your challenge will be deciding what entree to choose. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu, and it's always hard for me to choose what to eat. I adore their Chicken Piccata with a wine sauce, their Apple-Horseradish Salmon that melts in your mouth, the Scampi Genovese, or an occasional vegetarian pasta. Probably my husband's favorite entree is the Pepper SteakHusband has had almost everything on the menu, as he is much more adventurous than me. He's never been disappointed. They have specials every night, and they change nightly. Last time, I had halibut, potatoes and asparagus, finished with a lovely Bearnaise sauce. They are usually a little more expensive than other items on the menu, but they are always a fabulous combination of flavors! We usually don't have room for dessert, but occasionally we take it home because it's so good. The key lime pie is perhaps my favorite, closely followed by the Mile High Chocolate Cake. When we've had dessert at the restaurant, both the Banana Foster and Cherries Jubilee have been a hit with our guests. The food is absolutely 5-star, 5-diamond quality. Perhaps that's because Joseph, the owner and chef that does most of the table-side cooking, was the Maitre D first at Garden of the Gods Club, followed by Maitre D at the Broadmoor Penrose room for over 15 years. What can I say?! This place is wildly underrated. I ate here 16 years ago, and remembered a great experience. I went back.. and it blew me away just as much! My wife and daughter agreed. It's underpriced with amazing food. Everything was phenomenal. Joseph, the owner and chef makes sure to stop by every table in order to advise you on what to order, and have conversations. He has great stories, and it's very cool to meet him. This experience is overall AMAZING! If you haven't been here you will not regret it, you have to go. If we lived here, it would be a weekly eat. Hmmm...This place is not quite as fine dining as it's name suggests. Food was okay but certainly not anything to write home about. Ribeye seemed frozen then cooked over a grill. Asked for bread 2x and no return by the waiters. Asked to have meal split and was charged $6.00. Ordered a salad and lobster bisque and like the bread request, never arrived. The kicker was that when given our bill we were charged for the items that never came. Service left a lot to be desired. Fair is fair I'm sure there are other options in the Springs. This place seems like they are trying their best but not really into improving their operations. More content then attune to guests. read more

Last night of our honeymoon so I wanted to take the wife to something really nice. Not that the place wasn't nice, it really was. The food however was average. Here's what I mean. Appetizer: Fried Calamari - Absolutely amazing, best I've ever had in-fact. Drinks: Lemon Drop & Sweet Tart - so so... decent alcohol content but delivery wasn't very sweet or smooth as the names imply. Entres: Chicken Ricotta & Marsala - I honestly don't think they were any better than something you could get at Olive Garden. They weren't bad at all but nothing to write home about. Dessert: Chocolate Indulgence Cake - Cold, hard, tasteless, difficult to cut. Much rather would've had a Hershey's Sundae Pie from Burger King ‍ silly I know but honestly. Staff was cool and the restaurant was very tidy and well kept. read more

My niece and her fiancé were in town for a few days, which included Valentines Day. Having a number of positive experiences there, encouraged them to go to Joseph's. After looking at the menu they agreed it looked great. However, they discovered when they arrived that the Valentine's Day menu was completely different and did not include fillets, which is what they had wanted. There was only one steak on the menu and it was a much more fatty cut than what they wanted. Which is crazy, since Joseph's is known for their fillets. They paid a lot of money for their meal and we're not at all pleased with it. Unless I missed it, if it was different from their normal menu, I would've thought they would have had their Valentine's Day menu front and center on their website. They did not. My out-of-town guests went thinking they would get a nice fillet but, alas, it was not to be. I sent an email to the restaurant seeking clarity around all of this. However, after many weeks, I have heard nothing back. I won't be returning to Joseph's nor will I be recommending it to anyone I know. read more

It was ok. I'm not sure if I was expecting too much, but we were for sure disappointed. Generally speaking, it was overpriced for the mediocre service, food, and subpar atmosphere (fake flowers and mismatched decor was a bit off putting if I'm being picky). The waitress was kind but very clearly took no interest in any of the younger customers, if she had she would have known we were celebrating a birthday and anniversary that night. Rather, it felt like she couldn't get away from out table fast enough. Fair enough, but if we're going to be paying $50 a plate it'd be nice to be chatted up. The portions were small for the price and one plate of food was scalding and the other was cold. read more
