Josie's will not disappoint! Needed a sandwich to hit the beach with and the reviews for Josie's made it a no brainer. A very cute little spot with some seating outside to wait or eat if you'd like. The inside has all of your Joe's chips and drinks (Joe's has my heart). The cashier, didn't get to catch her name, was SO friendly and informative. We ordered a long hoagie and let them do their thing. Now, I'm used to the normal on my hoagie (mayo, lettuce, tomato, onion, etc.), but there wasn't any condiments on it or cheese. So make sure you run down your preferred way. Anywho, that bread? Amazing! A lil low on the turkey but not a huge deal. The price, it's up there lol but worth it. This was our first time going to Josie's, and it certainly won't be the last! I grew up on subs and am relegated to Jersey Mike's these days because so many places just don't do it right. That can't be said for Josie's. Between the fresh bread, packed sub (they don't skimp), and the price, this has immediately become the best sub shop in the area. A truly wonderful experience here staying for the week in Wanamassa. I sought a Buffalo-ized Caesar Salad experience and Amy at Josie's would not rest until my request was delivered. She is truly a superstar. Their home made Buffalo sauce is out of this world. Every soup I have tried so far has also been incredible. I'd usually not go for a cream based soup, but the Cream of Tomato & Basil with Roasted Garlic has one of the better broths I've had, not too creamy at all. The next day, I snagged their Pasta Fagioli and again it was amazing. My friend also thoroughly enjoyed the sandwich he had. There are so many other items I want to try on the menu. Forget New York forget Philly the place to get a cheesesteak is on the Jersey shore! And once I tell you about this hidden gem, you will see why. A family owned and family operated sandwich shop this place mix everything you could think of! The bread is made fresh every single day people come for miles just to get the bread itself, I I knew I had to try some. So of course, I had to get the cheesesteak with peppers and onions, which honestly is the only way to eat a cheesesteak in my opinion& incredible way better than any chop cheese I've had from New York or any cheesesteak from Philly. This had real meat and real cheese, and I was absolutely in heaven I ate every last bite. Next I asked for a recommendation and was told to get the chicken Parm and it did not disappoint. Best sandwiches down the shore! now that I'm retired, one of my favorite things to do is drive the hour and a half (if I'm lucky) from northern NJ to Bradley Beach, pop into Josie's to pick up a couple of their delicious sandwiches, and spend an hour or two sitting on my favorite childhood beach eating my tasty sandwich and reminiscing. Off-season, it's earmuffs and a blanket and invigorating vitamin sea! Highly recommend their Italian sub, chicken cheesesteak with mushrooms and chicken parmesan sandwiches. All are homemade with love. My husband is vegan, as is the warm and friendly owner, Amy, so he can eat the delicious vegetable soup made by Amy's husband, Chef Joe, or her delectable eggplant meatballs. I ordered the chicken cheesesteak and they didn't offer some of the basic toppings that sandwich places typically offer like pickles. Fantastic food. Josie's was new to us (born and raised in Bradley but live up North and visit my dad in town). Amazing food, though! The bread is divine (and made in house). My dad and I both had a cheesesteak and I can say that they were some of the best we've had in NJ. The meat was delicious and perfectly cooked. My wife had an eggplant parm sandwich and she loved every bit of it. Again, same great bread as ours but also with delicious tomato sauce and (I believe) fresh made mozz! We picked up in store and the folks there were lovely as well! Great experience and highly recommended. These guys are going to make a killing with how good the food is. read more

Josie's on Main Street in Bradley is the best place to pick up a sandwich! The subs are huge and made fresh to order! Staff is so wonderful and gets to know everyone on a personal basis. We have enjoyed the philly cheesesteak, mozzarella and roasted red pepper (also with fried chic cutlet), and ham and cheese subs. All were outrageously good. Pricing is very reasonable considering the size of the sandwiches. They have Joe's chips, we love the popcorn and Boylan soda. Looking forward to working our way through their menu and exploring the "Cheesy Things and Wings!" We were in town for a wedding, and had 3 hours to burn between ceremony and reception. Rather than hit the bar and make spectacles of ourselves, we decided to stop at Josie's for a quick bite. The food is fantastic. The soup is homemade (including the broth, the mozzarella sticks are also made from scratch and incredibly authentic. We also got half sandwiches which look like a whole with extra meat any place else. Josie's is definitely worth the stop. Super kind people working there to boot. read more

While visiting the Bradley Beach area on a Friday, I decided to stop by this place to try out some of their sandwiches. Looking up some info online, this place looked great. Plus, I was looking forward to trying out their cheesesteak since it's ranked as one of the best in NJ. I ordered a large cheesesteak sandwich as well as a large classic Italian sandwich. I was splitting everything with my girlfriend, and we figured it made more sense to get the large, so we can have some for later in the day, too. We ate the cheesesteak sandwich first, and it was delicious. First, the bread they use here is excellent. On the cheesesteak itself comes with peppers and onions, as well as 2 different cheeses. The steak is chopping finely, which I love, seasoned well, and everything just blended together and tasted great. It was the perfect cheesesteak. Super delicious and hit the spot. For the classic Italian, this was a great sandwich as well. Loved all the cold cut meats on here, and it was a very generous amount, too. I love a loaded Italian sandwich, and you get that here. I was referred to Josie's in the summer of 2023 by a fellow foodie and told to try their Italian sub. I did so and got to the store to pick up my sub. The service was warm and incredibly friendly. The ladies working were so friendly i thought for sure one was going to ask me to borrow money of something. The Italian sub was packed with meat and it was very good. Honestly I was not blown away, but it was a really solid sub. Well last week I went back for a cheesesteak after seeing that NJ.com rated it as a top 10 cheesesteak in NJ. Pretty bold statement and rating. I picked up a whole sub and me and friend split it. Again, the service was great as the employees were extremely friendly and pleasant. I ordered the cheesesteak "as is" so it came with peppers and onions. It did not disappoint and this cheesesteak was a 9.5 out of 10. The steak was flavorful, tender and the combo of two cheeses played wonderfully. The star of the show however was the bread. I honestly have not had bread this good in a very very long time. Perhaps I caught a really fresh batch, or maybe because the bread was warm on a hot sandwich vs a cold sub made the difference.. but me and my lunch friend agreed the bread was out of bounds. Really good. This was as good of a cheesesteak as I have had in NJ or Philly. Read that again if you have to. Great job Josies. Looking forward to my next visit. read more

Josie's is a hidden gem that deserves a standing ovation. I had their chicken cutlet, roasted red pepper, and mozzarella sandwich, and let me tell you, it's the kind of sandwich that makes you wonder why you've wasted your life on lesser bread. Speaking of which, the bread here is so incredible, I'm convinced it's baked by angels who moonlight as carb wizards. Hands down, the best sandwich in Monmouth County--sorry, every other sandwich, you've been dethroned. Even calling ahead was a delight; the employees are so nice I almost asked if they'd adopt me. Ordered online for a quick pick up -- Turkey with mozz and roasted peppers was very fresh, delicious and large for a very good price. I wanted a kale salad but got a call that it was not available. Sub for the Cole slaw which I did not enjoy- no flavor at all. Service was fast and friendly. Parking can be tricky -- they need a designated "pickup" only spot. Got the large Italian sub. Lots of meat and what I always say is it's all about the roll. The large size is not cheap at over $24 with tax but it's really a serving for 2.
