This is my go to Chinese restaurant when I am in the area. I don't know why it's never too busy. I have been here at least 20 times and I enjoyed every dish I had here. Great: Clean and delicious Great lunch special Friendly and professional service Interesting space-ship like decor Clean bathroom Not so great: Wine and drink menu My favorite dishes are Hot and Sour Soup, Mongolian Lamb, and Mustard Prawns

Peking duck - a must have!

A hidden gem in Beverly Hills!! The Peking duck is a must have!!! The skin is so crispy and love the wrap. The mustard prawns with noodles is also very good. Actually, everything on the menu is good. Please ask for Walter, he is so nice and very attentive. Plenty of street parking along Santa Monica Blvd.

Enjoyed a lovely evening with friends at Joss Cuisine! It was my first time here, my friend reserved a room up stairs which had its own bathroom. Highly recommend if you have a large party. The food was excellent and the service was as well! There were several courses, all of which were great! A few stand outs were the squash crab soup and the Lobster. Both are a must next time you go. Great way to celebrate Chinese New Year! Thanks Joss! Parking: street, metered

JC is a cute little Chinese restaurant on little Santa Monica Blvd across from the Penninsula Hotel. We ordered the chop suey, chicken cashew veggies, wonton soup and Hot n sour soup. The food was made fresh and taste GREAT!! We opted out onions and garlic to taste the real food. Restaurants these days are smart now, since people today love to eat onions and garlic, so chefs now would just soak everything in onions and garlic to cover up the unfreshness of the food. Lucky for me that I don't like onions and garlic, so if the food is not fresh, they can't hide!! A big thumbs up for JC, the food was awesome and the service was great. It was a busy night with a party upstairs, but they managed well!!

Peking Turkey or just regular turkey. This is nothing special and not for $90

The ginger-vinegar cod was so good, I was torn between two choices, to lick the plate... or to pretend I have manners. lol

The food tasted ok, but it's completely rip off. And the space is old, dusty and greasy.

Chef Mings is a solid place for Chinese take out. The menu is large and has just about every dish…read moreyou could want, at a very reasonable price. We had the veg spring rolls which were crisp and filled with a good portion of veggie, and were not greasy. The mu shu duck was really good and came with 4 pancakes. I'd like to try their mu shu chicken next time. The fried rice with chicken and shrimp (and no pork on request) had several large shrimp and pineapple. It was not overly salty and I actually added a little soy sauce to spice it up a bit. The chicken with veg was the least favorite. This will definitely be my go to place for take out.

I quickly completed my errand at FedEx and went next door to Chef Ming's to peruse the menu. Upon walking in, I was first greeted by the smell of what promised to be a delicious meal, and the man behind the counter greeted us and motioned for us to take a seat at the counter. The restaurant was bright and clean, and as I looked over the menu, my stomach growled even louder. A friendly gentleman came in and stood near us, then began chatting with my boyfriend and me; he told us about their awesome lunch specials and said he's eaten here many times. Upon his recommendations we got one of orange chicken and one broccoli with beef - two classic Chinese dishes - can't go wrong! We ordered our food to go and the smell was driving me wild on the ride home. The orange chicken was perfect - not too sweet and the batter had the perfect crunch. My BF enjoyed the broccoli with beef and shared some with me. We were very pleased with our meals and definitely recommended Chef Ming's! Would definitely eat here again!

Just 5 minutes from The Grove, this spot on Beverly Blvd is amazing for their insane lunch deals…read moreand traditional dim sum. All their weekday lunch specials come with hot & sour soup and an egg roll. I had to get their signature spicy orange chicken which is tangy and perfectly crunchy on the outside and tender on the inside. It's seriously such a great deal with the amount they give you. Even their dim sum items are discounted during lunch too so I got all my favorites like shumai, radish cakes, green onion pancakes, string beans, and even the rainbow xiaolongbao sampler which is basically Russian roulette for you to guess the flavor of each. But the real sleeper on the menu are the sweet & spicy corn ribs. Love the nod to the Asian taste profile, and it's sooo satisfying to eat! Thanks for reading! ^-^

If you're crazy a-BAO-t dim sum like me, you definitely have to check out @baodimsumhouse !…read more As someone who's super picky about dim sum, I think this spot has some of the BEST and most authentic dim sum in West LA, with an extensive selection of traditional dishes (pork and shrimp shumai, crystal shrimp dumplings, fried radish cakes, egg yolk black buns), as well as fun options such as the Juicy Roulette Xiao Long Bao set. I've been coming here for the past two years, and their quality is stayed consistently high, if not even improving! They also have an amazing cocktail menu (which is more unusual for dim sum spots) and weekday lunch special menu from 12-3 PM, which features select dim sum and traditional Chinese dish combos at VERY affordable prices (all under $20). Honestly, everything I've tried on every visit has been AMAZING, but I highly recommend asking your waiter for recommendations and specials, since I've been able to try so many new dishes that I probably wouldn't have ever ordered. She was very endearing as she talked to my girlfriend in chinese and also kind to me when speaking in english. When asked about dishes and proportions, she was very knowledgeable and honest. Food: (4.5/5) We ordered the Mapo Tofu and Meizhou Special Fried Rice with chicken. The food came out within 10 minutes and the portions, as I saw on previous reviews, were generous enough for us to share and be full. The Mapo Tofu came out on a hot ceramic bowl. It wasn't as spicy as I thought, not overly spicy but just enough where you get that numbing kind of sensation in your mouth that leaves you wanting more. The beef wasn't like the ground beef you see in other mapo tofu, but more of chunkier pieces which I wasn't a big fan of as it didn't seem spread evenly. The Meizhou Special Fried Rice with chicken was probably one of the best fried rice dishes I've ever had. You can tell it was made from a wok and the flavors were just incredible. The chicken seemed to have been friend separately and added on top afterwards but the saltiness of the chicken didn't take away from the fried rice at all. Instead, it added to the flavor and made it all so enjoyable. For the ultimate experience, I'd recommend eating both together to maximize your palette!

The Peking duck is still the reason to come, but nearly everything around hasn't kept pace with the…read morecompetition. The space feels worn -- menus tattered, décor dated, the whole interior overdue for a refresh. For a restaurant positioning itself at the higher end of Chinese dining, Meizhou Dongpo is sleeping on the finer details. No complimentary tea service, and rather than offering a pot for the table, they serve individual tea by the mug -- a comically oversized Western mug at that. Chopsticks arrive without spoons, and when you ask for one, you get silverware instead of the porcelain you'd expect at Chinese restaurant. The Peking duck accoutrements came with a little plastic spoon on the tray. Small things, but they add up.The fried rice was a letdown too and looked nothing like the menu photo. Spots like Din Tai Fung and Lunasia Signature are operating at a different level and the gap shows. Meizhou Dongpo has the bones of a great Chinese restaurant. The duck alone proves it. But until they invest in the experience around the food, it's hard to recommend at this price point.
