Chef An's Famous Garlic Noodles with 24K gold

This is not just a dinner, it's a whole experience - a gastrobiography as they call it. It is a set 8-course menu inspired by the life of Chef An. The staff explains each dish and what it represents. Learning about Chef An's background and upbringing definitely inspires you and appreciate every element in each dish. My favorite was the deconstructed Banh Mi (Vietnamese staple) and Garlic Noodles. Food and service was 10/10, I'll definitely be coming back!

Chef Helene An's new project featuring a tasting menu and the concept of Gastrobiography - guests are taken on a food journey that travels though the life stories of the chef. Such an unique and amazing experience. My hubby and I went to Da Lat Rose on Valentine's Day - the intimate dining room was beautifully decorated with wild roses and handmade crafts from Vietnamese artists. There was a metal hat on the table, which served as the map of the stories each dish represented. The 12-course menu covered a wide range of ingredients and flavors, from oyster, to coconut bamboo rice with chicken, ginseng soup, to crab claw, to caviar, to pork cheek, to Wagyu tamales...creative, but not overly pretentious, and everything was well executed and delicious! They also had the option of wine pairing or cocktail pairing - we went with the wine pairing, but tasted a couple of refreshing cocktail drinks that the bar sent over as well. One minor complaint was that the sommelier was pretty busy and forgot to pour the wine as dishes came - I would hope the service would improve as the restaurant opens longer to match the quality of food!

An unforgettable dinning experience. Everything about this place was beautiful and delightful. From the warm welcome at the door to the smiles and first drinks at the bar to the ambiance and table settings and finally the food and meaningful stories behind each course. My favorite dishes was the edible lemon grass candle with tiger shrimp AND the gold shavings + the garlic noodles. The service and food was a 10/10 over. I can't wait to go back.

We were both enjoying every course, every paired cocktail, and their gastrobiography as well.

Their pricing is really great, the broth is nice and rich, and they give you a good amount of meat and veggies. Some may find that the broth has a teeny bit of oil but I personally like it. I would say though, after having done both take out and dine in, nothing beats fresh Pho at the restaurant. SERVICE 10/10: Today was my first time really dining in and our server, Louis, was the absolute sweetest. He was really attentive and helpful! AMBIANCE 10/10: The restaurant is really cute, lots of seating options, good lighting, and it gives off a comfort-cozy vibe which I love! NOTES: - There is street parking... HOWEVER turns out there is a parking garage on the second floor. If you enter through the alley way you will find an entrance and the ticket guy is there until 4. Nong Lá does offer validation even if he is there.

While comparing menus and reading reviews, I noticed they offered oxtail pho--something I'd never heard of before. We ended up going right after picking up our rental car. Parking took a bit of effort (I had to circle the block a few times), but once we found the place, we were greeted right away and offered seating. We ordered the veggie rolls, shrimp pho, and the oxtail pho, and everything exceeded our expectations. The food was flavorful and comforting, the bathrooms were clean, and the host was very friendly and personable. I highly recommend this restaurant and would definitely return.

We chose the covered patio over the inside which had the better vibe and felt partially inside but had a view and some of the energy from the busy sidewalk. Among us we had pho and vermicelli noodle salads and spring rolls. Those that had the pho enjoyed their choices. I had the beef noodle salad and spring roll and really enjoyed the combination of beef with the noodles and fresh veggies. It was filling but not heavy - just right. Service was attentive, food was well presented and delivered timely. Parking is a little tough on Larchmont but there's easy parking in the residential areas a block or so away.

One of us was doubtful and low-key worried about vegan and living foods--he was amazed before he was halfway through. The Bird's Eye Tofu, crunchy on the outside, hot and melty on the inside. And the entrees? He brought a Notrito Salad which felt alive and delicious. The Tori Katsu really blew my mind. Each time I've come the waitstaff has been super friendly, and the food amazing. So, when planning a little birthday lunch for my mom's 81st birthday, this was one of the first places I thought of. My mom lives in south LA and we live in the valley, so after picking her up, we wouldn't have to travel far to eat. Although we planned to arrive to the restaurant at 2, traffic was horrible and we arrived at 230pm. After looking for parking, I dropped the fam off at 2:40 so they could sit and look at the menu while I found parking. I get a text from my husband saying they closed at 3 so hurry. This was news to me, as I thought they closed at 5. I found parking and rushed in at 2:48, to see my family outside the restaurant. Perplexed, I went in to ask if we could still eat, as it wasn't yet 3pm. No wait staff came to the front to greet me, so I walked in a bit and asked the waiter if it was okay to eat. The waiter said we close in ten. I said I thought the website said you closed at 5. I must have read it wrong. I understand, but it's not 3 and we came a bit of a distance and it's my mom's 81st birthday. The waiter, whose name is Jack, offered to ask the kitchen if they would still make food. I said yes please would you ask? While Jack was asking, another waiter asked me if I had been helped. I told him yes, that Jack was asking the kitchen if we could still have lunch. This waiter says, we're closing in 10. I'd like to have lunch too. And walks away. Yes, with shade. Jack returns and says it's fine as long as we can order within a few minutes of getting the menu. I say great and we all come in. The 2nd waiter takes our order with the least amount of personality he possibly can, and the whole lunch is slightly awkward and we're not able to truly enjoy ourselves with the feeling of "we better hurry up and eat" lingering. By the time we ordered and received our food (which was delicious as usual) , there were still 4 other groups of customers there, and we actually left the restaurant within a minute or two after the last customers before us. Also, no one came around to ask how our food was and if we needed anything. I'm giving 3 stars because this experience didn't quite sit right with me. Yes, it was near closing, but your doors weren't closed and there was no sign saying last call/order at 2:45 or anything like that. I feel like once the kitchen approved making our lunch, customer service should have been at its peak for paying customers, who gave no attitude and tried to be as polite with the ask as possible. It was not. I still tipped 25%, because Jack (waiter 1) was polite and my 81 old mama who I was celebrating raised me that way, but I'm not sure I'll patronize them again.
