After our hike, we decided to grab some breakfast and coffee from Journey. It was the first time we had been here so we were excited! We ordered a First Class Avocado Toast and the Downtown BLT-A. We also got an iced cold brew and an iced Americano. We got our coffees right away, but the food took a little longer than we had anticipated. But it was well worth the wait!! The First Class Avocado Toast was perfectly cooked and the presentation was beautiful. The BLT-A was delicious also. The coffees were good - nothing exceptional. The vibe of the whole place was chill and relaxed. It started to fill up as we were finishing up our food. I will definitely be back. read more

Really friendly staff. This locations has more brunch items than other locations, I've noticed. It felt like I was going into a theater initially. I got a smashed burger with fries. I had the bulletproof coffee, which was like cold brew with butter, just to try. It can get busy, but wasn't too loud. read more

Awesome coffee shop nestled in downtown Vacaville! We were greeted right away with super nice friendly staff! You can tell they are total sweethearts. I tried the summer drink - the citrus matcha tonic and it was so good and refreshing! The bf got the bulletproof (perfect for Keto) and it was tasty too! It's interesting that it's like located inside a theater! Only con I can think of is theres a bit of wait to get your drinks but other than that.. it was great. There is small handful of indoor seats and plenty of outdoor seating which we end up sitting to get a bit of sunshine in the morning after school drop offs. Perfect for a fun coffee date! read more

I've been to Journey in their Fairfield, One Lake, and Alamo location before but this was the first time at the Downtown one. The ambiance is slightly different since it's the theatre downtown. The others were a more farmhouse rustic vibe. This one seems to be very popular with families. I saw 2-3 groups with strollers when we came. But the service is just as great. The "You Matter" theme still holds here. I think the downtown location may offer slightly more breakfast food options and more seating! I haven't been here when the bar has been open. We ordered a chai latte, matcha latte, and the oat pancakes. Once again I've been very satisfied with their matcha lattes. The chai latte was heavy on the cinnamon. Their options for non-dairy milk are a little limited compared to other cafes. But it's still great they ask if whole milk is okay. The pancakes were made to order and took a little wait. With so much on the menu there's a good chance we'll be back to try the other items. read more

This Journey's location is pretty solid when it comes to cafes in the Vacaville downtown area. While walking downtown on a Monday morning, I noticed a lot of other breakfast and bakeries closed at 0800 as well as being closed on Monday. Journey is opened everyday and has a large selection of breakfast and lunch items to order from. Like a lot of people have said, this café is located in the entrance of the Deville Theater and often will have people walking through the café to the theater for events. There's a bar located on the adjacent side of register but not open in the mornings - when? I don't know. The service here is very friendly - as are all the other Journey locations. I had placed my daughter in the Discovery Hub a few doors down and wanted to be within walking distance incase she wanted to leave early and asked the cashier if I could work on my laptop in the dining area. As soon as I got his approval I was locked and loaded, busting out meetings and schedules in the corner of the café. I could possibly start a Yelp list specifically for people that need a place to work in public because I'm sure it would be very resourceful for those that need information. Such as, the tables along the window has two outlets where you can plug in your power. There's also the bar area that has an electrical outlet as well. In the case that there is an event in the DaVille, the noise can be loud (bring noise canceling headphones/microphone). My daughter and I ordered the almond croissant roll and chocolate croissant roll. They were both as delicious as we'd expect it. I'll have to try other items on the menu as the selection is far more immense than the other locations that I've seen! read more

Ah! I love it here. I'm pretty particular about my matcha lattes & saw 2 people walking by me with iced matcha lattes (in the PERFECT shade of green) and had to ask where they got it from. They led me here! It's a spacious interior! Love the vibe in here. Very rock & roll/concert hall. They serve tons of breakfast options. In the evenings this place is transformed into an event center! For matcha, they offer sweetened powder & unsweetened power. They only serve their iced matcha in a 20oz cup which I didn't mind since I added extra matcha powder. Service was awesome & very kind!! I ordered my matcha with unsweetened power then asked for it to be sweetened with honey. The matcha is absolutely delicious. I approve 100%. You can still taste the bitterness & astringency of the powder even though it's 20oz. Shoutout Journey! You guys are killin' it! read more

Took my chef bestie here for her birthday. Wanted to try something new and different in Vacaville and Happen to stumble upon this place. We parked at the parking lot walked right in and was greeted right away. It's one of those places that you walk up to the counter or order the food and then they bring it to you. Staff was super friendly there. I got their club on a croissant with a side of fries and my best friend pretty much got the same thing. Everything was made very delicious and came out really fast. We will definitely be back to try the rest of the stuff off the menu. I love that this place has so many events going on every weekend. Live music and sports or something else. Cute little cafe in downtown area. They do breakfast and lunch, coffee and smoothies. Burger was pretty good. Fries were nice. Chicken strips seemed somehow a little over done but the breading had some decent flavor. The tropical smoothie was sweet. Caesar salad was fresh but I don't like the powdered parm as much as the strips. I appreciate the clean restrooms and it looked like they had a baby changer that you could lay out. They are starting to figure this venue out. Some decent acts getting booked, better bar service, nice vibe. If you haven't been to a show here, you should try it out. Last owner invested HUGE into the sound system and amenities, so it's way overbuilt for what it is - but that's great for us, world-class sound system in a tiny theater, super clean bathrooms, nice facility. Bar could have better selection of drinks, and sometimes, I guess depending on staffing, it can be slow and not so efficient. This goes for the ticket line as well, but those are small problems... Keep an eye on their website for events, not too many mainstream acts (it's a small venue) but some of the cover bands we see. there have rocked super hard, and we had a great time. read more

Visiting from SF, I stopped here for breakfast since it opens early (7:30) and has a menu of more than pastries and coffee. The staff behind the counter were friendly and I quickly placed my order for a sandwich and latte. There's a lot of seating inside and outside and I made myself comfortable at a 2-top by the window. My drink came out after a few minutes and my sandwich was brought out not long after. Seasonal pumpkin spice latte: ordered this with oat milk. Delicious, and probably heavier on the pumpkin than other PSLs I've had. No complaints here and the medium was a perfect size for me. Showtime sammy: I loved all the components, only wish the bread was larger (for more sandwich and also because it got messy as the insides easily came out). Tried this spot for the first time ever with a group of 8 of us. We all ordered pretty much one right after each other and it took the place a good 45mins to get us our food and they came out very late and very delayed. I did go up to check and I saw a bunch of our food ready to go BUT the cashier said she was waiting to take out the food all together. So basically some of our food was getting cold so we could get it all together. That didn't work out well because one of us got our food (a sandwich (not cut) and then 3 of us then 2 and the last 2 got their food when the rest of us had finished. My side of potatoes and sausage was $8 and it was the smallest side of potatoes and one piece of sausage. That was not worth the price. However their avocado toast was VERY good. Tri tip was okay and their chicken strips and fries was nothing special. Overall, a nice place to chat with people but not really Worth it for the food. Will give it another try tho. read more

Came to Journey Coffee in Vacaville for a quick breakfast and a Tropical Sunrise smoothie to go with it. The food was fine, but the service was a total miss. I ordered the smoothie at the same time as my meal, and it never showed up. After receiving my plate, I asked the waiter about it--he looked me in the eye and said it was "actively being made." Waited around and awaited for it to arrive however I did just go forth with eating my food and then finally.... Nothing. Finally after many other drinks came out and I finished my food I checked at the counter and was told it was never put in the system. Felt like straight-up lying to avoid accountability. I have been to a few different Journey's coffee, and this one is the best, by far. I have been going every week for a month, sometimes two times a week. When you first walk in, someone always greets you and is ready to help you. It's always very clean and organized. The employees are always friendly and helpful. I have only tried their coffee so far, but I have seen their food being served, and it looks delicious. Today, I had the black and white coffee, and my husband got the bulletproof coffee. My coffee had a pretty little leaf design! The biggest thing that keeps bringing me back is the consistency of the coffee and the wonderful employees. read more

Journey Downtown is an amazing lil gem in Vacaville. So so glad my dearheart friend suggested it to me. We met there and just had a nice chat. The coffee is very good and tasty. On the menu, it isn't just the regular items at any ol' coffee spot. There is good food choices, with exceptional staff to help with questions. Prices are reasonable. Sasha and Dara were so helpful. This place is really cute and the staff was very friendly, but everything else is lacking. There was no flavor to be found anywhere. Portions are small. I'm not sure how it happened, but we ended up with chunks of plastic in my husbands smoothie. They apologized and remade it but it was still odd how that much plastic got in unnoticed. Big fan of this journey. I stop in maybe once or twice a week with my son, ALWAYS greeted with a smile, and the coffee is great (several vegan milk alternatives too). It's a really nice atmosphere (old movie theater), with large windows so you can sit and watch what's happening on the street. The seasonal drinks are always thoughtful, and I've found a few to be REALLY interesting. Which is cool. Service is always pretty quick (honestly one of the fastest quality coffee spots I've ever been to), but this is a coffee house, NOT a fast food spot. Remember that when you order food or drinks. Everyone working there was very friendly. The ambiance is that of a small coffee shop. I was lucky enough to get a small table by the window. This was the 3rd attempt to like journey coffee . First was one lake , and we didn't care for it. Second was Alamo location which was okay and redeemed the first trip but, I'm definitely not a fan. This place is over hyped and over priced . Wait time for an avocado toast and croissant sandwich was almost 30 minutes. There were 3 baristas focusing on coffee and one cook . There was no line upon arrival and we received our coffee within 5 minutes . Iced coffee was not strong at all. In fact, I don't even think there was coffee in it. The size was small for the price . Price was $6.50 but when I checked receipt I was charged over $7. Avocado toast was $14 and it was a soggy thick sourdough slice drenched in balsamic with the hardest pieces of bacon I've ever eaten. Egg white was cooked but yolk was raw . I was under the impression the egg would be cooked through. All in all $37 went to waste at a coffee spot and I would rather have spent the money for a big breakfast at a restaurant. Stop over hyping this place ! read more

One of four locations within Fairfield/VV area. I was finally able to check this place out and had some avocado toast. They have a food menu with quite the variety. I think everyone would find something to eat and drink here. I believe this location occupies an old theatre space. There's a bar and space for meetings in the back. Street parking is offered but there is a general public parking area nearby on the corner. Wifi is available for those that want to stop by and do some work or school work on your laptop. read more

It is an old theater and through the door I could only see a full bar. The coffee bar is to the left when you walk in. Journey Downtown is not your average coffee shop. We attended a concert there. There was theater-style seating in the balcony so its pretty large inside for concerts or comedy shows. The tables on the ground floor were VIP tables (large groups who pay for the entire table) and there weren't many of those. Pretty much needed binoculars to see the performers up close but overall its a nice venue. Didn't eat or drink anything but they shared pizza left over from an event that ended before the concert. The original location is super busy and beautifully renovated, but it's nice to visit this location in the morning and beat the crowds. Surprisingly the staff is smaller here (literally one woman making food AND serving as the tender) but she had my order ready on time Some perks ; 1. Order online or call-in (journey takes awhile if your order on the spot , even more something small like a code of breakfast wrap 2. I love the flavored syrups , they always have a monthly surprise , for example April was cookies n cream (yum) 3. I LIVE for their breakfast wraps, each location has their own spin on it but I love the chipotle sauce and jalapeños and it's perfect for a quick road-trip Other eats include breakfast plates, sandwiches, gluten free desserts and fresh juices Parking is available but limited downtown especially later in the day , but you'll love this location especially since it's take over the old theater & is right across from. read more

Journey Coffee has definitely been a great addition to Downtown Vacaville. Making a visit there even more desireable, along with the cute boutiques and park. The coffee and pastries have not disappointed at any of their locations either, however, this morning I finally tried thier breakfast menu for the first time. Similar to its other locations, except that here, they offer a few extra breakfast favorites aside from wraps and sandwiches such as, a traditional breakfast plate, french toast and pancakes. Not to mention burgers and lunch items. I'm a creature of habit so I decided on one of the breakfast wraps, the Full Flight Wrap with eggs (I requested egg whites) cheddar cheese, avocado, spinach, slices tomato, and a spicey peri peri sauce. All in all the wrap was good, however, it was shockingly greasy! I used napkins to try and help the greasy situation but ultimately I had to leave the bottom of my wrap on the plate along with the remaining grease that poured out. It was just off-putting and left me feeling heavy and not as satisfied. While I love Journey and their drinks and pastries, today's experience makes me hesitant to repeat the same order next time which saddens me... At least at this location. read more

This place has the best coffee, staff and ambiance! We are on a road trip and wanted a good coffee. We normally head to Starbucks but we wanted to try something different. We are so glad we went outside our coffee comfort zone! This place has an amazing menu. Josiah patiently helped us decide on our coffee order. First we ordered the cortado and lavender latte with oatmilk. Both were made perfectly and had outstanding flavor. We took our coffees and strolled around outside. This end of town is so cute. The post office is across the street was turned into a restaurant and night club. The library next door was turned into a cool brewery. This Journey coffee location is located in an old movie theater. After our walk we went back to Journey and Josiah gave us a tour of the movie theater and told us about the history of their location and the owners. This is our second negative experience at this Journey location, the 1st being on my birthday in January and the 2nd today. We LOVE all of the other journey locations and have never had a negative experience. Both of our recent trips to this location our food was thrown together haphazardly and was nearly impossible to eat. The first sandwich we ordered took 25 minutes because the workers were standing talking to eachother, there was nobody else in the entire restaurant. The sandwich was falling apart and so difficult to eat. This trip today was no better. My breakfast sandwich had no bacon, which it was supposed to, but was otherwise fine. My boyfriends breakfast wrap was 70% avocado, not wrapped properly, and the egg was grossly over salted. We will continue coming here for their coffee but not their food. Update: I called in to speak to a manager and was told there was no manager on duty today so they would call me back. 15 minutes later I got a call from a woman who said she was a manager on duty and when I explained my situation she said "I'm sorry about that. I'll let everyone know to pay more attention to food" the conversation felt like it was likely not coming from a manager and there was no apology to attempt to rectify things. There's an event going on in Downtown today, and it's packed. This is in an interesting building, it looks like it's in a theatre. Nothing is more All-American than a Cheeseburger. This is The Journey Burger. It's on another Brioche Bun, it looks like the Brioche Bun is taking over the world. 1/3 pound Grass-fed Beef Patty. When I hear it's Grass-fed, I'm going to trust it's Grass-fed. From what I know, there's no difference between White Cheddar and regular Cheddar. The only difference is how much annatto is in the Cheese. I guess this is more of a natural Cheddar Cheese. And look, some Pickle. Some people out there might not like Tomato in their Cheeseburger, but I do sometimes. I actually like a big fat slice of Tomato. And what is the Journey Sauce? Is it a Thousand Island or Fry Sauce? Oh, and there's more Fries. The Beef tasted natural, and seasoned well. The Patty was so juicy, the juices dripped everywhere. The Bun actually felt toasted. The Fries were cooked to perfection, and crunchy. I also got a large Lemonade. The Lemonade actually taste freshly squeezed. I was thinking this was going to be a 4.0-4.2 stars, but I give this 4.3 stars. read more
