Super surprised with this place. Located in a strip mall. Portions are huge, we totally ordered too much for our family but the food was so good!! The perfect amount of flavor, did not taste salty which is so common in the USA. They were very busy on the evening we went since it was Christmas Eve. I brought my mom here and was soooo surprised how good it is because of the unsuspecting location. It was a few months ago but I remember my mom and I ordered a few different things and everything was wonderful! The server was so friendly -- I wish I asked him what his name was, but he said he works there 2x a week. The other server was also kind. She even lowered the shades when I mentioned that it was a bit too bright during lunch. I ordered 3 dishes: green bean with garlic, pork and shrimp dumpling, and beef and egg with tomato. All of them were delicious, and even seemed to increase in tastiness the day after. What I liked most is that the food wasn't greasy, as Chinese meals can sometimes be. The portions are large, so I ate the food for 6 meals. I am already planning on ordering from this restaurant for Thanksgiving or Christmas because they are open year-round. read more

First time trying Joyee Dumpling House. I wasn't impressed with the food and service. Cashier was rude and I felt rushed even after telling her this was my first time there. Ambiance...meh! What a nice experience it is to come here and eat. This resturant is relatively new to the vista location. There are others throughout San DieI have been here several times since it has opened. It's always enjoyable. Let me start by saying the resturant is spacious with various size tables and an out door eating area. It's very clean and not overly decorated. Lot's of windows and light. Your greeted right away and offered a seat quickly. The menu is a huge plastic coat card filled on both side with items to choose from. This is a Chinese Dumpling House but there are other Chinese dishes to choose from. WARNING! The portions are generous. Be aware of that when ordering. One dish can easily feed two. Wish I could give negative stars. The service is absolutely terrible and slow, the food has no flavor no spice or seasoning. The meat to dough ratio is wayyy off. The workers smell like terrible B.O. they include gratitude in the bill and also add an extra tip if you want so they trick you into tipping 30% or more. And it gave all of us food poisoning. Don't go here. It SUCKS. read more

By accident I ordered a pickup order to Target at the wrong location. We noticed Joyee and decided to scoop up the rest of our family to try it. OMG - the food, ambiance and service was the best! We love going to Convoy but it is a time commitment. Joyee gave us our dumpling fix with amazing service. We ordered Dan Dan noodles, Pork dumplings, chicken dumplings and vegetable chow mein. The dumplings were perfect - whole family shaking their heads in happiness. Chow mein was done exactly the way we like it- not overly oily and crisp vegetables. The Dan Dan was awesome but our girls like it a bit less spicy. One of my daughter's said it was her new favorite place! Thank you for a great dinner! First time at Joyee's, but we will definitely be coming back. A lot. The food is so good - we had the mapo tofu, which is probably the best I've ever had. The Szechuan eggplant was perfectly cooked and seasoned, and we enjoyed the beef rice noodles as well. They have a large selection to choose from. We looked around and all the dishes at the other tables looked as good as ours. The service was equally good, maybe even better. Every staff member was super friendly and very attentive - top notch. They were constantly refilling our water glasses and checking on us. These days, getting anyone to smile at you at pretty much any food establishment is a rarity, but everyone person working was genuinely nice. I'd give them 10 stars if I could. I thought the prices were on par with other restaurants, but the portions were much larger so overall a good value too. Highly recommend you check this place out! read more

What a welcome addition to north county! I went on Friday night and it was PACKED, so hopefully it stays around for a long, long time. GREAT dim sum, the staff was HUSTLING and were so sweet, and the prices are super reasonable. Be aware there are not a ton of tables so if you go during a rush, you may have to wait...but it is with it. read more

Ordered the pork & shrimp dumplings and the mushroom chicken. Both were extremely good. I didn't take any pictures because I was on a lunch break and just wanted to eat quickly. Ordered food for pick up and my order was ready on time. Staff was very friendly. Next time I will ask for an extra set of utensils and an extra hot sauce/oil packet. Location is nice, right off 78. Placed an order for pickup. When I got home with my order, I found the steamed rice was one glob of ice cold rice with a slight brown tint. I also ordered pork fried rice that wasn't very good. I ended up throwing both away. They seem to be taking old rice and mixing it in with the fresh rice. Went to Joyee Dumpling House for takeout dinner. Very good food. We ordered pork shumai, sweet and sour pork with pineapple, cumin beef, beef with noodles, hot braised beef soup. Everything was seasoned perfectly, hot to the touch and very generous portions. Food tasted fresh and everyone enjoyed their entrees.
