The bartenders were quick To make us drinks and very accommodating when I needed something more/different/etc. they had a little place to get tacos, you could buy koozies, shirts, etc. they have a mechanical Rooster but didn't seem to be going. Great friendly place to line dance and have some fun. We went on Wednesday- for beginner lessons. Everyone was friendly and helpful- and you don't feel like a fool- even if you can't keep rhythm or know your left from your right.... Lot of regulars that will help out during the lesson time. They had tacos and nachos in back- we didn't partake- but those who did looked delish. The "younger" crowd comes in after 9pm- So fun... highly recommend. read more

I attended what was labelled the "Ultra Beginner" line dance lesson on 3/18/2026. Warning! If you're looking to learn how to line dance choose somewhere else! I had never line danced and was hoping to learn some basics. The "class" consisted of at least 50 people on the dance floor most of whom had experience. The instructor led us through 1 very basic dance. Just when I felt I might be able to master it she went on to a 2nd and more complicated dance. Halfway through I just gave up. The instructor allowed people to ask for repetition by circling their arm in the air. But after I had done it twice I was getting glares from the people around me on the floor so I wasn't comfortable asking again. I left half way through feeling humiliated and completely discouraged. What I thought would be a fun learning experience turned into an awful evening. read more

We love line dancing at Joyland. Wednesday nights are beginners class. Rose teaches at a pace beginners can learn. Each dance she teaches is taught for 3 weeks, by then you'll have it mastered! Thursday nights Rose teaches intermediate line dances. Harder, for more seasoned dancers. So much fun to dance and watch the pros too. It can be very crowded but still a fun time. Food and beers served too. Highly recommend! read more

The energy was so welcoming and everyone was so kind! The floor was full and the beginner class was very easy to join in on.

Skip the food! So BAD. The line dance instructors assumed we knew the lingo. Can barely see their feet on the stage.

Worst fucking club I've ever been too, I'm under 21 and I was trying to enjoy my night and the whole night security was all over me, following me all night, pointing at me and one security guard was staring at me uncomfortably. I was there for 2 hours didn't have a single drop of alcohol and I was hanging with all my 21 plus friends at the bar and then they walk up and kick me out saying they saw me drink (when I just had gotten water ) . Nice big dance hall. It's really hard to find the first time. We drove back and forth for about a half an hour (and stopped twice for directions) before we found it tucked in the back of a strip mall. At first it seems too loud and crowded to be able to get a drink, but when I finally got to the bar, it was an easy transaction ($4 for a Bud.) We were there on a Friday night and the theme was 80s music, so the crowd was all middle aged hipsters; slightly on the older side, but very young in spirit. The music (volume) was way too loud, so we didn't stay more than an hour. However, the live band, called The Spazmatics, was FANTASTIC! I liked that they played music from a wide range of decades, not strictly 80s (although there was plenty of that.) They do a great job and really play to the crowd. The location is a bit odd- definitely thought it was closed by the look of the outside with the dark windows, but to our surprise it was certainly open! All of the staff we encountered is extremely friendly and helpful and made the experience that much better. The spot itself is very clean, though you do get the nasty smell of bad eggs occasionally from possibly the water in the restrooms. The band that played was amazing when we were there on a Saturday night and we got there pretty early and were surprised to see line dance lessons going on! The prices are pretty decent for drinks and we loved that many people seemed to bring their own coozies to keep the beers cold. We tried their tater tots which were delicious and a perfect drinking snack. Definitely will be coming here more often! read more

Friends and I went out for a bachelorette and a creep was taking pics and videos of one of us - when we notified the staff they immediately removed him. We felt safe and comfortable enjoying the rest of the night! Live band was great also read more

Went there on a Friday night hoping for country music....not a tune in sight. Honestly very disappointed by the live music and no line dancing at all. Go somewhere else if you want to line dance. read more
