Good food, nice ambiance (super comfy chairs) and fast service. I really liked the chips. They tasted a little different from the ones you normally get at a Mexican restaurant, in a good way. The salsa and burrito were a little spicy for me but I'm pretty big baby with spicy stuff. Not the best Mexican food I've ever had but I liked it and it was reasonably priced. The food is predictable but, I did see some new things added to switch it up again. We tried the fries & cactus fries, we were not impressed with the dipping sauces or flavors. I enjoy stopping at this Joyride Taco House in downtown Gilbert from time to time. Who doesn't love tacos? Joyride is part of the Upward Projects group (Postino, Windsor, Churn, etc) and opened this location close to ten years ago. I have had some fun evenings over the years at this Joyride Taco House with a number of friends. The best time to come here is during happy hour or on Taco Tuesdays when they have discounted drinks and tacos. My favorite tacos are the standard, pork adobada, carne asada and chipotle shrimp. Tacos can be a little pricey here, so definitely come during HH when a select number of tacos are $2.50. They have a variety of margaritas on the menu that includes my favorites prickly pear and cucumber serrano. The menu also has sharable items and of course churros! This location in Gilbert is always a good time. Joyride has a location in Phoenix too. read more

FUN FUN FUn! Sit on their patio by the big fireplace! It is so wonderful. Allie G was an impressive waitress, knows her stuff and is as smart as her dragon tattoo. She was patient with our "first timers" syndrome. So we got the ceviche which was good. We got the guacamole which we liked. The shrimp quesadilla was like the best grilled cheese ever! We've been coming to Joyride for years (shoutout chef Luis) and I'll admit the service has been slowly declining over the past few times we've came in. Luckily today we had our rockstar server Izza to save the day! My husband is a psycho and wants to work 60+ hours a week borderline electrocuting himself and I wanted a chill night out to make up for his hard work. I'm pregnant and had a hankering for enchiladas and after scouring over multiple restaurants on Yelp I landed upon Joyride. The last time we were here for my mom's bday I wanted to slap our snail speed server upside the head, so my expectations were low coming in. To my surprise, our server Izza was attentive and answered my husband's million tequila related questions because his alcohol levels were dangerously low. He got a shot of tequila and the happy hour ceviche and I got some of their tangy Tomatillo salsa to go with our chips. I was freezing my t*ts off and luckily my hot and delicious Chicken Enchiladas saved the day! My gremlin child forgot how to eat like a human so the rice and beans combo we got was delicious but also ended up halfway on the floor (sorry joyride) From going from "this will probably be the last time we come here" to "we are going to make sure Izza is working when we come in next time" was certainly unexpected, but I'm glad we could have a relaxing Saturday night family date night :) read more

Went to the east side with the family and needed a dog friendly place and I love joyride downtown so went in hopes of some good happy hour bites. Was seated promptly and asked for water with lemon for the table to be told that we used all the lemon in the place cus they don't use it often, okay my bad. They were way over the top and sweet to our pup which is nice and we were thankful for that however when it came to service that was a bit lacking. They even at the end explained they had shift changes and that's why there were issues I guess if that happens everyday rather than making excuses everyday management should attempt to mitigate so customers are seen. We all destroyed the chips and salsa but the enchiladas came out incorrectly on one and both were just so salty it was hard to taste much else. Ceviche was good but very small as well as the tostada. Odd that what we ordered off the HH menu was great and the full price menu was lacking. Simply put I still enjoy coming for HH getting a pitcher of beer for $6 is hard to beat and will continue but not for much else. read more

Wife and I got the Chili Chicken Chorizo burrito and the Veg-Out burrito. The chorizo burrito had no distinct flavor, just fat and carbs. Veg burrito was okay, you could taste some of the peppers and squash. But the sauces in both were not good, the chips suck, the salsas suck. Looked like there were a bunch of tortilla chips in different areas of the restaurant on the floor and people keep stepping on them and making it worse. I was really disappointed with my visit here today. While the food and drinks were great, the experience was overshadowed by an unnecessary comment made by our server, Isa. After we were mistakenly given another table's order by one of the runners, she returned to our table and said that we "shouldn't take food that doesn't belong to us because it messes up their stuff." I can understand that it's frustrating for a server when food is brought to the wrong table, but placing blame on the customer is extremely unprofessional. read more

joyride HH was quite the fun ride. It was our first time here and we will be back! to start, they offer chips and salsa for the table. The chips tasted fresh and crispy and the salsa was on the mild side in terms of heat but had good flavor. for drinks we went with the mermaid margarita which wow tasted so good and packed a heck of a punch! I'd get it again. Lol. And the other drink we had was their seasonal passionfruit Arnold Palmer, which I loved that the passionfruit flavor really stood out and the beverage was not too sweet. for tacos we shared the standard, crispy fish, Baja, and chipotle shrimp. Call me basic, but the standard which includes chicken, avocado, Mexican slaw, and pico really hit the spot and was my favorite of the bunch. I'll be back for more of those. To end, they let you mix and max churros so we got the flinstones and the nutella banana ones. I gotta say the churros themselves are not much to write home about as they tasted a little stale and dry buttt the toppings combo were good and saved them from being wasted. service was nice overall. First time at a Joyride Taco spot. Centrally located in downtown Gilbert. There's parking a couple blocks away for all the restaurants and businesses. Joyride has a really cool vibe. There are two patio dining spots to the left and the right of the restaurant. There's one bar centered in the middle of the restaurant with tables and booth seating. The walls are decorated with steering wheels and different types of artwork sprinkled with Star Wars portraits of Darth Vader and a Storm Trooper. My server was Nikita. Nikita was very attentive and had great follow up and recommendations. I ordered the Mexican street corn as an appetizer with the cucumber serrano margarita. The margarita was one of the best balanced ones I've ever experienced. The subtle sweetness and heat balanced perfectly. I ordered two tacos one Carne Asada and one Pork Adobada. The margarita was so good I had to order a second one to accompany my food. I would definitely recommend this spot and I will definitely return. Ask for Nikita you won't be disappointed. read more

The best word I can describe this place is basic. If you like a non authentic Americanized Mexican restaurant, this restaurant is perfect for you. I had the green chili burrito and it was about 70% rice and tortilla. They also charge $2 for a side of salsa. I do have to say the tortillas weren't bad and the chips were good. The ambiance was okay. They play all kinds of music which was pretty loud for my taste. The servers were really nice. The manager would walk around and make sure everything was good. Me and mom stopped here after exploring downtown Gilbert. We were really hungry and they had a great deal called "shotgun lunch". Offered weekdays from 11am-2pm you can get two tacos of choice and any side or half salad for $10.50! We got served some chips and salsa to start. The chips were nice and the salsa had good flavor. It should be noted that the salsa is not spicy. I personally got a chicken taco, carne asada taco, and a side of rice with my shot gun meal. The chicken taco was my favorite of the two. The rice was okay but I wish they added more of the green sauce to it. Next time I plan on just getting two chicken tacos. The drinks were really good as well! I had gotten a tropicale margarita (suggested by our waitress). It did not disappoint! Next time I want to try a prickly pear one. Overall the experience was great and the service was pleasant. Stopped by Joyride for lunch while in downtown Gilbert. The place is vibrant, fun, and a little loud. Service was fast and friendly. I ordered a mango chamoy margarita and three tacos: baja fish, crispy fish, and chipotle shrimp. The margarita was delicious. The tacos were tasty. One of the fish tacos was my favorite, but can't remember if it was the baja or the crispy. Enjoyed all three nonetheless and would order them again. We finished lunch with churros for dessert. We went with the nutella banana churros. The order came with 2 long and skinny churros. Although it was covered in nutella, the flavor was subtle. I would have liked more nutella. Great location. I went to Joyride on the first day of the Yelp Elite event there and am so happy I did! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by a very friendly and amazing staff of women who made sure I was seated and served with dignity and respect throughout my dining experience. I was in total awe watching this crew going about their business as I was served the complimentary chips and salsa, which by the way are so good that I asked for a bag to take home and received! My waitress was Aubri and she was AWESOME! She went over the menu options with me and totally understood when I explained that I have allergies to citrus fruits, as does she! She went above and beyond, making sure that substitutions on my margarita and my tacos could be done special for me. I had the Tropical margarita, which was out of this world delicious, and truth be told, I have never been a fan of margaritas but tried this one since it was doable for me and came with the meal for the event. I would GLADLY order it again since I found one I like! I had the Pork Abodaba tacos without the radish and substituted the cabbage for lettuce and that will be my go-to for tacos from here on out when I go again! They were so good! Served on my favorite--corn tortillas--& so mouth-watering delicious! I also got an order of Mexican corn to go with my order and you can have it still on the cob or shaved, which I had it shaved. It had a nice kick to it that was absolutely divine! The ambience and decor of this place is gorgeous! Nice and roomy as well and there were a lot of people in there and more arrived as I ate. Aubri told me Taco Tuesdays there gets crazy busy so I may have to be adventurous and go there one night. The weather was crazy the night I went here but it didn't stop me from attending or enjoying my meal or the event itself. The manager even checked in with me and asked how I was enjoying everything.
