JP Construction just finished up a 2 week project on my house. It was very labor intensive as 2 old layers of siding had to be removed, as well as the insulation before adding new hardiplank siding. They found some rotten wood and replaced it and rebuilt an overhang above my door as it was not safe the way it was. They also painted the hardiplank (two coats on everything) . They tore off the hail damaged roof and replaced it and added all new custom gutters. Jon Polson, the owner, was very helpful and promptly answered any questions or concerns I had. We needed some repairs done on the back of our house - holes in the fiberboard siding. Matt came out and looked over the job and we discussed two options - do some repairs as one option or reside the entire back of the house as the second to keep it looking consistent. Our house was built in '68 and had 30-yr-old wood siding that was rotting along the bottom and way, way overdue for a facelift. We met with Matt, and he was very thorough in his presentation, specifying a lot of things in their bid like power-washing the rock work and driveway and giving the house two coats of paint. They even ended up patching some masonry in need of repair. The end result looks like the photos you see on their website. I thought their contract price was very reasonable and we are very pleased with their workmanship. They have four crews. Ours was run by a foreman named Santiago. He and his workers are very polite and unobtrusive. They worked from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and got the work done in a week and a day, only taking off Saturday. They have a relationship with Sherman Williams Paint, and SWP hooked us up with a color consultant who helped us pick colors for a very modest fee. We are delighted with the final product, and have been getting rave reviews from the neighbors. Great job!!! read more

My husband and I did a lot of research before starting this project. We were concerned about hiring a professional contractor in our price range. Our house was built in the 1950's with no insulation, single pane windows, asbestos shingles, our utility bills were unmanageable. We decided to get bids from local contractors for windows and siding. During our first meeting with Jon, we knew we wanted his company, JP Construction, to do the job. Jon made suggestions we had not thought of that would improve the look, energy efficiency of our house he addressed every concern we had. We hoped that his bid would be competitive with others we had received. Upon comparing the bids and the work to be performed, we were impressed with JP's pricing and the level of detail outlined in the bid. The excellence in his company is reflective in the work crew that arrived, their work is outstanding. There was great attention to all details of the project including, adhering to the timetable, minimizing disruption in the house, and daily cleanup to minimize the mess. The workers were courteous and took pride in their work. During the construction we were concerned about some termite damage and rotted wood that was found when they removed the shingles. They quickly put our minds to ease that the problems were manageable and addressed them quickly. The construction environment relaxed, I didn't feel like I had strangers at my house while they were there. They even befriended my wary dogs who began to look forward to their arrival every day. For JP Construction, this was another house. For us, it was life changing, it transformed our house into a home that we are proud of and plan on retiring in. In recent days we have had 100+ temps in Austin, our home has been comfortable. The walls and windows are cool to the touch, our A/C rarely runs and utility bills have been cut down to more than half of what they were this same time last year. If you are looking to hire a contractor for window, roofing or siding STOP right now and hire these guys. Got their info from a referral from another customer. Had them quote all new windows and replacement siding with Hardie Board. Got 3 other quotes from other contractors and their quote was not the lowest but the worked with me on the price to get to where I needed them to be and even through in new gutters. Salesman Matt talked me out of paying more for expensive Anderson windows and dropped off 2 windows with no markings to see if i could tell the difference which I could not. He told me replacement windows are all about the installation and not necessarily the windows themselves. Boy was he right! His window crew has been doing window installation for the past 8 years and that is all they do. Took 2 days to take old windows out, haul them off and install 20 new windows and did a great job. JP Construction did an amazing job replacing the old siding on our house. The house was built in 1981 and still had the original siding, which covered another layer of vinyl. We got 6 different bids, and Matt was the only one who followed up, and also gave us the most reasonable price. They said they were only 4 weeks out. There was an unexpected thunderstorm on the first afternoon and they covered everything and didn't leave the house without water protection. We hired JP Construction to weatherproof our home, and replace gutters, what we got instead was a new house! I spent about eleven months total researching contractors to go with, interviewing several and in the end JP Construction was the only company that had my confidence. They provided us with a great quote and description of the work to be done and the stages in which it would be implemented. They were always on time and worked very hard during each day of the process. What impressed my wife and I was that each day they not only completed a ton of work, but that they check three times for any mess or left over nails or debris from the old/new construction done. It was a major job because the house had a lot of dry rot and the gutters were weeks away from falling off of the house. They put in new Hardy board and John and Mike suggested choosing a color, which I let my wife do. The house was originally painted a dark, ugly brown, so we went with a bright, vanilla color and boy did it make a difference! The house looks much larger and more modern all together. During the entire process, John and Mike were very good at communicating with me and letting me know how things would go. After looking over their workmanship I cannot say enough good things about them. From the installation of the Hardy board, to the painting to the gutters, the house looks great! It feels solid and each item on the list drawn up for us was completed to our satisfaction. Even items not on the list, such as replacing some outdoor fixtures and putting in a new door bell were done so nice that it really makes the house look like a totally new home all together. Their work not only looks good, but after inspecting everything they did, it looks so solid, precise and professional. I recently had JP construction do my siding, roof and gutters on my fairly large two story house. We had several bids, and JP was competitive. Matt the salesman was very patient, worked through all our questions and requests, and came up with a good bid we were comfortable with. Mike Long was the project manager and did a great job ensuring everything moved along as fast as it could. We had lots of rain issues, and Santiago and the rest of the siding/painting crew were willing to work weekends when sunny to get it done. They responded to all my questions and requests with smiles and completed everything top notch. really looks fantastic, and Santiago I think cared as much as I did to make it look perfect. Roofing crew was efficient and dealt with some rotten plywood issues without batting an eye. After talking to insurance, we upgraded to a Class 4 impact resistant roof, has only a three year payback with insurance savings so I recommend it. Finally the gutter crew came out, matched our trim color perfectly, and did a great job. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend JP, and have already to my friend that needs some work. Would have done windows with them as well if we hadn't done them a year ago. A very positive experience for a major project and me and my wife couldn't be happier.
