Former location of the unanchored towel rack.
    Pamela W.

Update; I did tell them how displeased I was. I told them about the grout and the scratches on my shower and sink. They just shrugged it off. They gushed about how beautiful it was and when I pointed out the problems they did nothing. I couldn't know at the time that they would ignore my instructions to anchor the towel rack or that the light would fall out in two years or that the vanity light would stop working in one year. The rest of the comment is absurd posturing. "Look up what an elite yelper is. Very interesting." What's interesting? It's just a group of people who use yelp a lot, upload lots of pictures and write detailed reviews. I'm not paid. I was asked if I wanted to join and I did. That's somehow nefarious? Interesting way to try to discredit someone who tells the truth about an experience they had with your company. It really was awful. We paid them $18,000 to put in a new bathroom. We gave them very specific instructions which they just never read? They certainly never passed them on to the contractors. They started late, even though we planned the work over 6 months in advance. They took forever, which cost me money when I had to pay another contractor to reschedule work they couldn't do because Vanrossun was still there. So many things I can hardly list them all. We asked half a dozen times for blueprints, and they kept sending hand drawn sketches. We needed the exact measurements because we needed to know how big the sink and such could be. We never got the blueprints we needed and settled for trusting his estimates. We verified 3 (THREE!) times that a double sink, 72" would fit. We ordered it, and less than a week later he sends a frantic email about how it won't fit and says they'll have to take another foot out of our closet to make it work. We said no way. Fortunately Wayfair took the sink back at no cost (small mercies). The towel rack we bought also didn't fit. Then the work was just so, so shoddy! I cried when I saw it. The grout was flaking before they had even finished. When I pointed it out they just put down another layer. Which immediately started flaking chunks! What's the difference in price between good grout and cheap grout? $0.20/lb?? I just can't! My husband has zero training in building houses, but we have YouTube and the 2 bathrooms in our house he has retiled look ten times better than the one we paid 'professionals' to do. The granite sink top was severely scratched. The edging to the shower was scratched. The brand new bathroom looked like it had 5+ years of wear before the first time we used it. They put the doorknobs on the door, then taped them and painted them. EVERYONE knows to paint first! Who are these amateurs?! Two and a half years have gone by now. I'm writing this review now because the towel rack was pulled out of the wall. We told them specifically (along with several other things we put in an e-mail that we labeled important and referred them to several times, most of which they inignored and had to go back and correct) to put a 2x4 between the studs behind the towel rack to anchor it. Now we know they didn't. What else didn't they do? This is just the surface, visual stuff. What might be wrong with the plumbing? The wiring? I just can't believe anyone would put together a bathroom like that and be proud of their work. Update: less than 3 years after having the bathroom put in, the vanity lights have completely failed and the light over the shower is falling out of the ceiling. (Our oldest daughter is 9, there's no way for her to reach the ceiling. That's just coming down for no reason.) Includ

    Custom vanity top.

VanRossun shines when it comes to work in a big bathroom remodel. (I contracted with them on a $9,000 project.) Each team of workers was considerate and highly skilled. I have been through many remodels and I was incredibly impressed with the tile work and the craftsmanship on the custom vanity. VanRossun wasn't the lowest bid and I was a little hesitant to go with them, but so so happy I did. I am in love with my new soaking tub and tile surround -- and custom vanity! Thanks VanRossun!!

They didn't measure and were mad when I asked them to move so they didn't overlap

21st Century Austin Painting Siding & Roofing

I recently had 21st Century repaint the exterior of my house. You can find that review here as…read morewell. I'm writing a new one because this is a different project. After they finished painting my house, a few weeks later after heavy rains I noticed a stain on the ceiling of a guest bedroom. I knew immediately it was the long nagging problem of the "dead valley" along my roof. The house was designed and built according to the architect's drawings to have the roof of the first floor bedroom run into the siding of the house. It was a short "run" and rainfall should go quickly into the gutters. But, this was built under a big, old oak tree and for many years, I've had leaves and twigs built up, damming up the water. If I can remember it, I have to get up on a ladder with a rake and rake the leaves away from where the shingles meet the siding. After one major hailstorm, I had the roof replaced and when they replacing it, I asked them to build something to reduce the leave/branch damming. They did build it, but apparently not big enough. It lasted probably 14-15 years until this recent Spring. Since I had a good experience with 21st Century, I called them out to give me a bid on repairing what was probably rotted trim and exposed flashing and other rot elsewhere. And while they were at it, I asked them to build me a better diverter away from the siding. They came out and took care of it in a day. The guy was there from 8:30 to 5:00, taking a break for lunch, but got it done. Since they were also the painters, they asked me for the leftover paint they left for me (for touch-up) that came in handy as they had to replace the rotten trim and as it turned out a section of the roof decking. Attached are the pictures they took for the bid and then afterwards when they were complete. They were detailed enough to ask me first, "hey, this diversion we're putting in is a lighter grey then your shingles. Are you okay with that? We can go back and get darker materials". I said that was fine. No one can see that part of the roof and so it was trivial to me. The only negative thing from the painting and the roofing experience is so minor it's not worth taking away a star is that there will be a gap between when you sign and return the contract and they contact you about scheduling the actual work. In both cases, I had to drop them a line to remind them I was in the queue. Being a service that can't work when it's raining, I can understand that they have days where scheduled work is delayed and that causes a snowball effect of delays.

Based upon information…read moregathered via informal conversations with friends and colleagues, we were expecting that a thorough, professional exterior paint job for our 2600 square feet home (plus 2 car garage) would likely yield a hefty price tag. So, we developed an informal prospectus based on this assumption. Sometime later, we happened upon a poster advertising That 1 Painter, a licensed and bonded enterprise based in the Treasure Valley. Their reviews were strongly favorable and more so noteworthy was that T1P had been voted Best of Idaho twice (among many other plaudits)! So, when we were ready we contacted them with the intention that they would provide us with our first estimate. We were visited by Ruth Brinton, a professional house painter and owner of T1P. She presented well with confidence and comprehension. She looked at many things that we would have likely overlooked. She made many observations and shared her thoughts with us. She also looked at the property and made recommendations regarding colors to not only enhance the house, but also to optimize the use of colors that would give balance and compliment to the property on the whole. The next day, we received the detailed estimate for the job. We were stunned to learn that T1P would do the job for well below our most auspicious estimates! All the information we had gathered convinced us that we did not have need to solicit another estimate. Within a month's time (from initial contact) our house was very nicely and professionally cleaned, prepped and painted. The crew performing the work were polite, friendly and professional. Clearly, the team at T1P are committed to customer service and satisfaction. We offer a solid 5-star review and our full endorsement.

From the very first day, their professionalism and care stood out. George's father and younger brother handled the trim repairs with skill, while the crew power-washed and carefully taped off every surface: brick, shingles, fence, and more. Their attention to detail was incredible, and it gave us total peace of mind. They even removed the shutters to paint them. The work was all completed very professionally, and they took no shortcuts. What impressed us most was their consistency: always on time, quiet, efficient, and respectful of our property. George personally checked the work every day, which really showed how much pride he takes in his business. Even after we asked for a few extra repairs while the work was in progress, the price stayed exactly as quoted, and it was already the best bid we received. When the job was done, George didn't just pack up and leave. He walked the entire site with us to make sure we were 100% satisfied. That level of customer service is rare these days. Our home looks fantastic, and we couldn't be more grateful.
