Place get pretty packed during dinner time. The place is located in a plaza in the corner. So you maky have to park a little far and walk. The wait was not long when we got there. The place was busy. The people were very nice and seemed like they worked as a team. We ordered some sushi and it was alright. For what you got I thought it was overpriced a little. We checked this place out because my sister lives right around the corner and we wanted sushi. I absolutely love this sushi spot. This is my second time ordering from them and the food is always checked for accuracy, fresh and delicious. I also love, love, love the staff. The food was definitely good, but the stars are for the excellent and accommodating service we received here on new years eve. We had a party of 12, which took up about a third of this small dining room. Our tradition of nye sushi includes at least one sake bomb. Though the had both sake(s)-- cold and hot varieties available, all delicious!-- and beer -- again the usual Asian beer variety, kirin sapporo Asahi as well as some domestics-- on the menu they aren't really the sort of place that typically brings them out together. But they brought us everything we needed to do it ourselves and we had a great time. There's red and white wine on the drink menu too, no one at our table ordered. The prices are great for the quality and portion size. The menu is organized extremely well; its so common in sushi restaurants for the list of rolls to get overwhelming and hard to read. But this one was categorized and easy. Huge selection so there is def a roll for every taste. The rest of the menu offers appetizer options like edamame, takoyaki, gyoza, etc. We ordered a TON of sushi so we didn't place any app ordered but they did bring us complimentary fried snapper and it was GOOD. I don't usually care much for fried fish but this was excellent. For Entree they have teriyaki, udon, fried rice, pan-fried noodle, and tempura all available in different meat/veggie combos. Since COVID-19 I miss going out to eat and being able to sit down without wearing these horrible masks. This is what I've been looking for!! A great sushi place that isn't over priced or unnecessarily jazzed up... just good food, good service, and what looks to be people who go and eat there regularly. We overheard one couple say they came almost every Friday. You get a free sample of fried snapper that is absolutely delicious. I could've ate an entire plate of just that. Then you get whatever you ordered--everything was great. Then at the end you get a tasty little orange and it's surprisingly a great way to round out your meal. First I'm going to say that it's a shame that whoever owns this property does not take better care of it for the businesses that rent from them. It wouldn't take much to make it more appealing curbside. With that being said it doesn't seem to hurt JP Sushi to much as they always seem to be very busy. We absolutely love this place. It's super clean inside the folks that work here are always very friendly professional and quick. The food is outstanding. There is a variety to choose from. If you don't particularly care for sushi there are plenty of other options. I have tried some of their cooked dishes as well as the sushi entrées and everything was excellent . Highly recommend the Bento box for lunch. It's HUGE! My second favorite recommendation would be the fried snapper appetizer. It is not on the menu for some reason but just ask for it ...they serve a sample of it at dinner complementary but I will often time just get it as my meal. read more

Okay I was hesitant from the outside of the building, but the inside was tastefully decorated and had such a lively atmosphere. My boyfriend and I sat at the bar and Lyla took care of us. She made sure our teas were topped off, made sure we enjoyed our meal, asked us about our travels and told us about her kids. We even received a small sample of fried yellowtail! Delicious! I came in tonight after being out of town . I have not been to this place in many years. It seemed ok at first ? But u look thru the menu they don't have much for fresh sashimi,? You can get sashimi but it's tuna salmon white tuna and only four choices I ordered roll spider roll it was horrible it was straight out of the BOX in to a fryer and not fried enough still much like dough. If I could give them no stars I would. I just left, and I have eaten here before, but after tonight I will not recommend them, send them any business, or return! TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! I arrived 30 minutes before closing, and I would have came earlier but I got caught up at work. When I walked in they told me "they were closed." I looked at the hostess and politely said, "But you close at 10:00 PM." He replied, "We already closed our kitchen." Meanwhile I am watching them continue to make sushi, completing others orders, and the servers continuing to do their job. Also, I had just come in this week and it was 15 minutes before they closed. When I came in that night, I even said, "I know you close in 15 minutes and are no longer serving. Didn't have an issue, I was served and left very pleased. I had been to J P sushi a couple times pre-COVID, and enjoyed it. Since I saw they reopened for indoor dining, I went back. It was terrific. They were busy on a Friday night with both dine-in and take-out. I sat at the bar and they had three sushi chefs and three others working nonstop. I got a sushi special and shrimp fried rice - both were excellent. The wait staff was very attentive. I'm so happy to see they survived and are thriving. Since I moved to Atlanta I was such a sushi snob because back home there's a place called Edamame and it is my all time favorite sushi spot hands down!!! Lunch with coworkers, just down the street. Overall a good experience. The place is well kept, the service is friendly, attentive, and fast. From what I understand, it's a great upgrade because a few years ago it was gross and the new management has completely redone it. I had the tuna bento box, which was a little pricey for lunch, but did give you a LOT of food. In fact, I would rather have had a little less food for a little cheaper because the Bento Box had: teriyaki meat with fried rice, 4 pieces of a california roll, 3 pieces of nigiri (salmon, tuna, eel), 2 fried dumplings (I think they were pork), and 4 pieces of tempura (shrimp, onion, sweet potato, and zucchini). Yeah, like I said, a LOT. I ate it all... some others held back, but not me. I'm going to eat what I pay for, and it's not really stuff you can take home... The nigiri was delicious - I admit I go to rather cheap sushi places, so I'm not used to good quality fish, but this was great. It was fresh and served at just the right temperature (not too cold). The teriyaki tuna was excellent and the sauce wasn't too salty. The fried rice was good, but a little on the dry side. The fried dumplings were too greasy - I'm still tasting them, and that was 6 hours ago! All in all, I'm definitely looking forward to our next visit there. read more

This restaurant is kind of tucked away in a little plaza and could be a little hard to find. I came on a day that was raining so I did a few loops before I realized it was right in front of me. I had the salmon sashimi and some yakitori. The salmon was fresh and the portion was pretty decent for the price. If that was the only thing I had ordered, then this restaurant would've easily gotten four stars. I didn't really have a "problem" with the yakitori...I just don't like teriyaki sauce on my yakitori. From what I recall from Okinawa (part of Japan), yakitori is basically barbecue on sticks, like kabobs. They're grilled over open fire with light seasoning and sea salt, and maybe a bit of house soy sauce mix brushed on. What I got was kabobs on a bed of teriyaki stir fried veggies with teriyaki sauce drizzled all over. I'm sorry but I didn't order anything teriyaki... If you're looking for an Americanized sushi restaurant, yeah this is a good choice. The service is pretty good too. I find that a lot of Japanese restaurants has servers that look like you were their enemies from their previous lives. Not this one. Here the servers will at least force a fake smile or two. read more
