This is the place that will be discriminatory against you if you are a woman alone, if you identify as they them, or if you have a disability, they will really make you work hard and jump through a lot of hoops to simply get a receipt with your name on it. Then they refuse to give me a refund because the receipt had the wrong person's name. Unfortunately, this place is toxic. The GM spoke disrespectfully over me and then tried to make me hide in a back private room because he didn't want his other customers to hear about his inappropriate business practices, definitely not recommended! What an unbelievably wonderful experience I had at Severn Auto Body-Chinquapin in Annapolis, and especially with regional manager Todd Chilcote! Several years ago the front end of one of our cars was damaged when someone backed into us. It was repaired at a collision shop in Annapolis, but the left front fender panel was not properly secured to the body and kept coming loose. I just tapped it back into place each time, but over time it got worse so I looked into getting it repaired properly. I took it back to the body shop that did the original work, and they gave me an estimate of $300+, much more than I wanted to spend. So last week I headed to Chinquapin Round Rd. area where there are at least 3 collision shops. I stopped first at Severn Auto Body-Chinquapin. I hesitated because it's a big facility with a huge parking area, which I assumed would entail paperwork, bureaucracy, and higher costs. But the totally unexpected happened - as I explained to the desk rep that I was looking for an inexpensive practical fix for a loose fender, regional manager Todd Chilcote overhead me, introduced himself, and offered to take a look. He then asked for the keys and said he'd be back in 10 minutes, and he was! The fender was securely fastened again, and when I asked him how much for the service, he said it's FREE! Can you believe?! Now I'm sure that virtually all other vehicles serviced at this body shop need formal estimates and repairs are not free ... but it's nice to know that a senior manager is willing to find practical, simple solutions for their customers. They take your car and they never give you an update. It's been 3 weeks and my husband called them and no one will get back to us with an update. We should not have to keep calling to get one. If that is the type of service their people give I don't trust them to be honest with me. My family has done business with them a long time and because the people that use to work for them were intelligent and honest we trusted them and they would give us an update. Now my husband and I have to go there and force them to tell us what is going on. After this I will never go there again. The damage was my front passenger Side front side bumper. I'm afraid they made up a larger quote than it should be. Again they are the worst!!!!! read more

Someone backed into our sedan and cracked the headlight assembly and caused minor damage to the surrounding panels. We got three estimates: two from reputable body shops in DC, one from Severn Autobody. Both DC estimates were just under $3000. Severn wanted $5,244. When I look at the estimate, Severn added on an extra $1000 for the same light assembly (from the dealer) and 25% more for labor. Always get multiple estimates, people! The DC shops are family businesses whose customers rave about the quality of their work. They also pay more for rent, as owning a shop in Montgomery County is far more expensive than Severna Park. Customers should expect their estimates to be a few hundred dollars different, but almost double the price is really wild. read more

This is a wonderful auto body shop! We scraped the side of our Tesla and brought the car here to be fixed. They did an amazing job! They worked with my insurance, which was very smooth. They also took the time to explain everything and patiently answer all our questions. It was very easy to communicate with everyone through the process (from texting to phone calls). They also kept me updated every step of the way. It was nice that they consistently kept me in the loop with updates from my insurance, to scheduling, to giving status updates during the repair. They were also fast! All the car parts were delivered early, so they were able to fix the car 3 weeks sooner than they originally said!! Worst service ever. Do not take your car to this auto body shop. I had my car repaired there. When I got it back, my speakers were not working. I called them when they next opened and was asked to bring it back so they could look at it. My passenger seat belt was also disconnected. They told me they didn't have to access the glass roof top from the back of the car. So why was The seat belt disconnected. They broke my speakers, denied and and tried to blame it on me. I was recently in a car accident that left my bumper smashed, banged up, and damaged pretty badly. The week prior to my accident I had just received an email congratulating me on being apart of the family for 1 year, so to say I was devastated and disgusted about my car being rear ended after only having my brand new car after a year, is putting it mildly. After speaking to the insurance adjuster, I called my auto dealership and they referred me to Severn Auto Body because they handle all of their auto body repairs. They specialize in European luxury cars. I had my car towed there and made a call to them to give them the heads up that my car would be arriving. Sever Auto has two locations that are within walking distance of one another, so make sure you're calling the correct location. Although, I don't think it actually matters. Three weeks later I came to pick up my car and the work that was done to it was phenomenal! I couldn't even tell that my car was in an accident. I will say that the communication from the shop could've been better in the beginning stages, but that improved over time. What matters to me most is that the work was professionally done, the custom paint matched perfectly to my car, and I can honestly say that if I ever need any work done in the future, I would trust them with my car 100%. read more

I own a Mercedes E550. I was stopped at the red light when a jerk was driving on the shoulder of the road and knocked the passenger side mirror off.. I called the MB in Annapolis to arrange for body repairs. They referred me to Severn body repairs because the dealership doesn't do repairs. Severn (Joey Izzo and other staff) were totally awesome. There are two Severn Auto Body shops in Annapolis, both near each other. This one is the huge shop located on Chinquapin Round RD. I'm dating myself by remembering this was the location of the old Duck Pin Bowling Alley in Annapolis about 100 years ago! I have not been to an auto body shop in any recent memory so I didn't know what to expect. When a friend drove my car into a curb the suspension had to be replaced in the front. They were very professional and the price seemed fair. I paid for the work out of pocket rather than dealing with the car insurance. Although, I could see they worked very well with insurance companies. The lobby is very nice with a huge TV playing HGTV. There are hundreds of cars parked in the front with minor to serious damage waiting for their service. They repaired my car fairly quickly and I hoped to have it back by Friday afternoon. I didn't hear back from them but was driving by after 5 PM and noticed my car parked and repaired in the front of the building! I went up to the door but it was locked...they were closed. I was going to have to pay for my rental car another two days until Monday. But suddenly the staff member who was helping me (on the phone) through the entire process saw me trying to get into the building and she got out of her car and offered to release the car to me! On a Friday afternoon she re-opened their doors to get me my car back! I though that was awesome. They did not get a chance to test drive it so she gave me the heads-up that if there are any problems to let her know. I had to return it the next week due to a really loud noise in the front right. They replaced the tired and the noise was gone for a few miles...but then it returned again. I had to return it again and have the bearings and something else replaced which cost another $450. I should have claimed it on my insurance. I would give them 5 stars if I didn't have to return twice to have it correctly repaired...but other than that, I do recommended Severn Auto Body and would go there again....which I certainly hope I never have to do! read more

In May 2018 I had the misfortune of two new vehicles (a one year old Mercedes and 3 month old Nissan) being caught outside during a t-storm featuring ice cube sized hail. Since this shop is Mercedes certified and was highly recommended by the dealership I decided to have the work done here for both. The body work done by Severn Auto Body is excellent! Really the best I've seen from my experiences. So many dents and they were all removed and body parts replaced where necessary. The paint jobs are superb as well. Customer service is top notch. Updates are conveniently sent via text so you always know the phase of repair. Rob Nelson, my customer service liaison, was very helpful too, promptly returning calls and/or emails. And when the seal of one of the Mercedes' windows was cut during removal he let me know, ordered the new glass and had it installed. I probably would have never noticed that and I'm so happy he told me and took responsibility for it. Why 4 stars instead of 5? Well I did have to take the Mercedes back twice - once for some overspray/residue removal and then for the glass replacement mentioned above. A little inconvenient but handled with courtesy all around. Customer satisfaction is taken very seriously here. Really it was a 4.5 star experience overall. I hope to never need repairs again but if ever needed I would certainly use and recommend Severn Auto Body. read more

He popped the bumper back in place and added a few clips to tighten it. To top it off, I was not charged and I would have gladly paid for the service. They took ages to actually give us the car, every time we would call they would tell us an excuse and not give us a set time. The only reason we used Severn Auto was because that is where our insurance carrier said that we had to send it there. What unfolded thereafter was nothing short of a nightmare. They held the car for an inordinate amount of time. Quoted prices was inaccurate, and when we got subsequent calls from them, the estimate went up one hundred dollars. When we did pick it up, they tacked on another 100 bucks. When asked for an explanation, all we got was a bunch of double talk. Afterwards, the work done was shoddy. We also strongly suspect that they went joyriding in the car (a Mustang.) Some problems were never resolved. Never would I take another vehicle to them. My immediate neighbors had similar horror stories. All stated categorically that they would never use them again either. I am not very impressed with Severn Auto Body. After being rear ended, the other person's insurance (Nationwide) accepted fault and stated they would pay for all repairs at Severn Auto Body, the Nationwide affiliated repair shop closest to me. At first glance, Severn Auto Body is nice, good location, nice lobby, cheery front desk people. When I got the estimate, Joe said it would take a week to fix. However, it took over 3 weeks to fix my car. I kept getting email notifications with an anticipated date of completion and every day I seemed to get a new email with a new completion date. After playing phone tag with Severn Auto Body, I was told I would receive a call today to pick up my car. This location closes at 5pm. By 4:30 I had not received a call, and in wanting my car back ASAP I stopped by to see if it was ready, and it was (no phone call.) I get to my car and there are scratches all over the side of the car, a part that wasn't even hit in the accident! Waiting on them to buff out the scratches now. The only redeeming qualities about this place is Chris, who apologized profusely for their errors and was very polite and obviously apologetic when I brought my grievances to his attention. I have never received such terrible service as I have at this establishment. Following an extremely minor collision, my insurance recommended I bring my car to Severn Auto Body. After calling three times and speaking to a very unhelpful, vague and rude front desk girl, I was finally instructed to "just drop my car off in the key drop over night and [they] would take care of it." I promptly did so, and after four days without a response I finally called in to find out they had no idea where my car came from, what I wanted, and why it was there. This is odd considering both Nationwide and the front desk girl I spoke with confirmed that my insurance claim information had been forwarded to Severn Auto Body and they had all the requisite information. When they finally figured all of this out, I was told I would have to wait a day to receive an estimate. When I finally received my estimate, I opted to take my car home and return it the following Monday so that I would not have to go another weekend without my vehicle. I was promised that my car would be finished within three to four days after drop off. It is Friday (day 5) and I have yet to receive any real response from the company aside from an accidental message left on my answering machine meant for another customer. I have called and left messages multiple times today and throughout the week and have had no one get back to me. Their service and organization is so terrible it's almost laughable. You can see when you drive up that they have upwards of 25 cars in their lot waiting for repair. I initially interpreted this as a sign that they can capably manage service in high volume -- it turns out to be quite the opposite. I don't typically review establishments on Yelp, but I felt others should be warned. read more

Service Members: BEWARE!!!!! This establishment is solely here for your money and they will do whatever it takes to get all of your money. I never ONCE spoke to agent assigned to my case. He was either out of the office or on vacation. When I went to pay my deductible to pick up my car I was told their card scanner wasn't "working properly." I HAD to therefore provide my card information on a SCRAP OF PAPER to Becky from accounting. The young girl at the front desk kept chiming in saying they had the right to not release my car until all funds were paid. Money was there, but the machine didn't "work properly". I then called and told Becky I would be by tomorrow to pick up my SCRAP OF PAPER and spoke to Patrick the manager and gave him the same information that I would be by tomorrow. When I showed up the next day Becky had "shredded my SCRAP OF PAPER" and here I meet Patrick. He couldn't explain where my SCRAP OF PAPER was and that he HIMSELF WOULD NOT WRITE DOWN HIS personal information on a scrap of paper. He gave me all of 4 minutes of his time and asked me to leave. I have been in the U.S. Army for 19 years now and have NEVER BEEN TREATED SO POORLY from a business. On the last laugh, he called and left a message the next day of wanting to find a way to resolve the issue. Too late, Patrick! SERVICE MEMBERS STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. THEY ARE CROOKS!!!!!!!!!!!! SAB did a very good job with the repairs which included the front-end fender and some minor dents. However, they had my husband's car for over 3 weeks which had no major damage. He had to pay for a rental car the entire time and it wasn't clear if they followed through on their promise to compensate him for a portion of the rental fees. I am severely disappointed and confused by Severn Auto Body. How can such professional workmanship be accompanied by such rotten customer service? I am not naive. Anything can, and will, happen in business. The mark of success is how a company handles the problem. Knowing that their suppliers would not meet deadline, Severn's staff elected to wait to inform me until the the last minute, doubling the costs of my repairs, due to travel reservations that could not be refunded. Strike two came when they failed to communicate with me and the supplier, running up to the second deadline. At that point, I had to take control of pestering Severn, and their supplier, to make the third deadline before a major holiday. While the work was very well done, I cannot trust Severn Auto Body to accomplish mutually agreed upon goals on time or at budget. That's right... I forgot to mention that, after my car was dismantled, the estimate was increased by 30%. How practical would it have been to say "no" and try to move the car to another facility? Final insult: I have not heard one word after registering my complaint and filling out a third party customer survey. I can no longer trust Severn... nor should you! read more
