We had an electrical issue on a tenant occupied 8 unit building on a Saturday. Tenants had varying degrees of power outages within the units and no hot water. JPS was the only company willing to go out. They got the issue resolved quickly and efficiently. After I send them the pictures of my project, all of them said the ceiling drywall will be damaged because they have to shift the power source to the middle of my table. I was priced from $300 to $950, plus I had to get a handyman to patch up the drywall. Josh gave me a $200 quote plus no drywall damage. I don't normally leave reviews but I really wanted to for my experience with Pete and JPS Electrical. All the electrical outlets in our bedroom went out and the problem wasn't as simple as checking a breaker on the panel. So I called Pete and he came by really fast, he found that the wire to one of the outlets was fried. He replaced the wires and upgraded the outlet to a commercial grade one (at no cost). He was in and out in less than 1 hr, he left the house spotless and the fee was MUCH lower than I was anticipating. I love that he didn't try to exaggerate the problem or spend hours and hours trying to "find the problem". Did an amazing job. Initially I had a different company come out that I found on yelp. Other company had a Perfect 5 start with great reviews. However, they turned out to be a total nightmare... He are the quick facts: Other company: - spent 5hrs at my house removing all the outlet covers trying to figure out why all the outlets weren't working. He went in the attic and poked around everywhere but couldn't find the issue. Finally he tells me he has to run MC cable on outside of my house to provide the "neutral" whatever that means... he was pretty much at my house half of the day and nothing really got done. Finally after he left, he sent me a proposal with costs and time it would take to fix everything. He said another 5hrs... so I started asking him questions and he instantly got extremely defensive and said "I'm not going to finish the job, please pay me for the 1st day" but I told him that we had agreed to pay once all jobs were completed. He got upset and said he's taking me to small claims court and that's where we went our ways. JPS: - came out and fixed everything in 1hr. He didn't even have to run no cables outside of home. They were ok. I could of done better searching but they were the first ones to call back. Really cool guys. $975 they charged me for installing one ceiling fan I bought w/ new wiring. 2 recessed lights w/ new wiring. Wired a light I bought on top of vanity. Wired and installed a new Panasonic exhaust fan in the bathroom. Also wired another room for me to install a ceiling fan myself. No biggie. They did me a small favor and checked out an outlet I had in my second home. Which was just downstairs. Wasn't able to get fixed. No biggie. Not sure if they charged me for that. Apparently some one had canceled on them the day they came out. So they took me in last minute, sort of. They seemed a bit rushed almost towards the end. Didn't patch up any of the holes they made.
