It had been many years if not decades since we had last visited the previous Jack's reef at their…read moreold location. We decided to take a road trip to check out the new Reef restaurant. The dining room was spacious and clean and bright as were the servers and the bartenders who expertly served us. They have a happy hour from 5 to 7 that varies each day so on this Thursday was half price on selected appetizers as well as $2.50 domestic select drafts. We got there about 10 after five and the bar quickly filled up, which seemed to be regulars, which was a good sign. We decided to linger a little bit over our first drinks and ordered deep fried cheese curds with a delicious margarita type tomato sauce. I had never had fried cheese curds and they were plentiful and came out steaming hot topped with a sprinkle of Parmesan cheese, unfortunately I did not take a picture as we were hungry and dove right in. When it was time for our second drink, I pondered over their wine list, but decided that with my Reuben and mac & cheese dinner a cold draft would suffice. My husband ordered the Philly cheesecake sandwich and onion rings. The mac & cheese and the onion rings were up charges of $2.50 and they were worth it. The cheesesteak sandwich was not shaved beef, but wonderfully thick pieces of beef on a perfectly toasted bun type with cheese and peppers. The onion rings were generous as well as crisp and not overly breaded. My Reuben was perfectly toasted on a delicious rye bread with just the right amount of sauce to not make it soggy. The star was their mac & cheese served in a steaming hot crock! It was creamy, not too cheesy, but cheesy enough to know that you were digging into a delicious bite of mac & cheese.. well done kitchen! All in all the meal was so large we could only eat half of it and brought it home for another day. We would certainly return as we enjoyed every bit of our evening. The patio looked invited and will be opening soon. They also have live entertainment to enjoy.

She came back pretty quickly and took our orders . The calamari was not a huge portion, but was beautifully crispy and seasoned nicely. The warm tomato sauce went nicely with the seasoning. Our wedge salads were huge, and there were a nice amount of toppings. My husband said his Reuben was very good and so were his his chips which tasted homemade. Our server was excellent and checked in periodically to make sure everything was good. It was starting to get busy but she was efficiently keeping up with all the tables.

Checked in with me just enough, were on top of drink refills, and cleared plates quickly. The brunch had so much food. We also added mimosas which is self serve from a punch bowl. Everything was so good. My favorite was the french toast. Yum. If you are looking for a place to do a party. There is a garlic allergy in the group so they are usually fine of mix a special dressing for salads (just oil and seasonings) etc. We had a new waitress though who was a little rude about it, and seemingly tried to make the mom in law guilty about the allergy. It was especially awkward being mother's day and their history for accommodating. The back of house had no issues though as per usual, but the comments were uncomfy so it knocks off a star for me even if its not the usual. The bread and butter were a hit for me, as well as the mimosa. For my entrée I got the broiled seafood platter-- it was really tasty. I was really impressed with the flavor and texture of all of the kinds fo seafood. The mashed potatos were also delicious. Especially mixed with the garlic butter from the bread (there are some bonuses when others you eat with can't have garlic like I can! More for me.) I would easily reccomend this dish. Plenty of parking.

If you're a bourbon or scotch drinker, you'll love their selection. The bartender and owner really know their stuff and if you're not sure what you want, they won't hesitate to make a suggestion. When we were seated, we were immediately greeted by our server who was just as friendly and attentive as the bar staff. The menu isn't very big, but what they do have is very good. There was live entertainment which consisted of a gentleman on the electric piano singing songs. His selection of music was a perfect choice for people enjoying their dinner. Nice soft music and we never felt like we had to make an effort to talk over the music. He also had a wonderful voice and took a request from us to play Louis Armstrong's What a Wonderful World which he absolutely knocked out of the park! The owner stopped by our table a couple of times to check on us and was attentive without being over the top. I'd definitely recommend this place for a nice relaxing meal and some great entertainment on a Friday night. We'll definitely be back.

I arrived about 5 minutes early and was greeted by the friendly staff member on the small takeout side of the restaurant. I paid, 39 dollars and change for a large specialty pizza and an order of wings, which I think is fair. I waited for my food to be ready and then waited till I arrived home to eat. The pizza was a large chicken wing pizza which was interesting, though not in a bad way. The pizza came in 12 very unevenly cut (triangle) slices. This doesn't bother me at all and in some respects could be a benefit for portion control. The pizza was cooked well and was perfectly taken out right before it would've been crispier than I like. There was a nice chew to the dough as well. Not quite thin crust. The chicken was well portioned and the Buffalo was just a standard mild sauce- I would've perferred hot but to each their own. The interesting inclusion was chopped celery atop the pizza. I've never seen this before but I admit it was a nice inclusion even though I was skeptical. It adds a nice texture to each bite. The sauce on the wings was hot bbq. Which again, wasn't as spicy as I would've liked but good nonetheless. The wings came in an order of 10 (booooooooo). I would've liked more sauce on the wings but I'm sure I could've asked for that. The ride home ensured the wings would not be very crispy- which I was fine with because I don't like super crispy wings. You may want to account for this if you are someone who loves super crispy wings. All in all, there's some things I'd do different if I order from Pizza Man again, but I was pleased with the meal.

People seem to forget that the servers, bartenders and cooks are human. My favorite part of Persimmons is that the service isn't super fast. It so nice to just sit and enjoy conversation and not feel like you are being rushed. One time at brunch our server told us to just flip our table topper upright when we were ready to order so that we didn't feel rushed. Food: I love the menu! My husband loved the catfish. Truffle fries are amazing. Brussel sprouts are delicious. I have not tried the calamari yet but have seen several people order and rave about it. It looks amazing. Super odd but I'm obsessed with the grilled chicken on the salad. It's literally cooked to perfection every time! The house salad dressing is amazing. Ooo and the wings. The Georgia bbq has just the slightest peach flavor. It's so good. Compliments to the new chef! I'm really excited to see what else he brings to the menu. Drinks: probably the highlight for me. The bartenders are amazing!! Charlie, Sienna, and Azalea are amazing! Overall: how about that manager!!! I just love him! He works so hard to make sure every guest feels special and taken care of.
