Surf and turf with again, the tiniest amount of veggies (3 beans, half slice of each squash and zucchini, and sundried tomatoes)

Food was actually pretty good, but it came with hardly any veggies. The seasonal veg this time was " green beans, zucchini, squash and tomatoes", and each of our dishes came with 3 beans, ONE half sliced piece of each zucchini and squash, and sundried tomatoes. But it took 1.5hr to get food, and our waiter hardly ever came by. After 45min we had to ask for the bread he said the dishes came with. And bc he didnt come back for another 30min, we then had to ask front desk to check on our food, which was brought out immediately and was luke warm at best. Beware the sweet potato is smothered with butter and sugar. I didnt want that.

Food, Service, Ambiance. All excellent! Our server Ty was great Andrew the Mgr came by and asked how everything was too:) This restaurant had modern appeal with small town charm. Full bar too. I had drink special Ocean Smoke Mezcal tequila, blue curaçao, fresh lime ‍ juice and pineapple with sprig of rosemary was awesome Hubby's French Onion Soup was on par with the best we had in Paris as was our Wagu Burgers. Definitely coming back to try entrees.

Last minute stop as we drove through town. We walked in and was greeted by a pleasant young lady. The atmosphere was welcoming and open. They had a St Patrick's day Special of Corn beef and cabbage. My husband said it was the best he had had in a Very Long time. I had the cheeseburger and fries. I loved every bite. I also had a side Caesar that was crisp and flavorful. Our waitress was attentive and friendly. I noticed that the restaurant has a couple private rooms that one might be able to reserve for a small private dinner. I thought that was nice. Both restrooms are family and Handicap bathrooms. Parking is very close street packing out front. I would highly recommend to stop and grab a bite! So Good and the Prices are very good!

My friend and I are from out of town and we decided to stop by Root and Barrel for lunch. We were blown away with the ambiance of the restaurant as well as the food, which was great! I ordered the half size Fall Salad w/ salmon on the side and I was surprised; Didn't expect my portions to be big but it really filled me up. The salmon was very good but I asked for it to be cooked medium but got well done, but it was okay 'cause it was still soft and flavorful. My friend got the half and half lunch combo (turkey/brie croissant sandwich and tomato basil soup) and she said her meal was delicious. Service was very kind and attentive to our meal, too!

We walked in to JR Chophouse looking for a good burger...then we saw the menu and had a change of heart. Crab cake appetizer was perfect. Absolutely delicious with the house made tartar sauce and accompanied by rosemary bread and garlic dipping sauce. Next up a big wedge salad with blue cheese for my husband and a Cesar salad for me, both with amazing homemade dressings. We ate every bite of those salads For dinner we had the special which was sea bass stuffed with crab meat and a filet mignon. Both were fantastic, although the steak was overcooked. Our server Doreen was sweet and attentive guiding our choices and making sure we had enough of everything. Ambiance was nice and modern with a full bar serving generous drinks. If you are in the area and are looking for a place for a really nice meal...JR Chophouse will not disappoint.

Pleasant service, great food, and a nice outdoor spot for our pups. Thank you for a lunch that hit the spot during our visit in Franklin.

My hubby ordered the shrimp and grits - it's a different take on the dish than most "shrimp and grits" and it was outstanding. There is limited outside seating so we were glad to get a table. Inside seating seemed sterile and was quite loud. I am glad our meal and table were great because the service was not. The restaurant appeared normally busy and we saw the other servers regularly checking in on their customers. Our server, Brianna, greeted us with an attitude and it continued for the entirety of the meal. She never checked in to see if we needed anything. Once when we were able to get her attention and asked for more water, she literally looked at our water bottle, saw it was about 1/4 full, rolled her eyes and told us she would get us more when she got a chance. When she did bring a new water bottle, she placed it on our table with the same attitude she arrived with and never spoke a word. Her attitude only improved when she appeared with her electronic device happily announcing our bill. We had to ask to see the ticket - we always check to make sure everything is accounted for. She seemed annoyed but complied. We would definitely eat here again because the food was that good. We would not stay though if our only server option was Brianna.

Everything about the restaurant was so special, amazing location for a sunset dinner, perched high above the Blue Ridge Mountains - amazing views. The best thing is if you stay at the Skyline Lodge, it's just steps away from your room and that comes in super handy when it's brunch time! We were fortunate enough to enjoy these two meals; dinner & brunch with our kids (who are foodies too) and they are now huge fans of Oak Steakhouse. They said it was the best steak they ever had, you can't go wrong with the Filet! The menu is not huge but really has all of the dishes you would want for an amazing dinner. Plenty of options, even if you don't eat steak. Amazing sides to accompany each dish and you must start with the bread, which is made in-house. I went with a dish I have not tried before and it did not disappoint, Venison Wellington while my wife tried the trout. I will let the photos do the talking. They also pour an amazing espresso martini by the way and to finish you have to try the chocolate cake, trust me! We also want to give a shot out to all of the staff and servers; their attention to detail and overall service was outstanding! Seems to be the case at all Indigo Road establishments, they really know hospitality. We cannot recommend Oak Steakhouse enough, even if you're not staying there but in the Highlands of NC make sure you give them a visit.
