I hadn't needed a mechanic in a while, so I wasn't sure where to go in my neighborhood. I used the project inquiry feature on Yelp, and Jimmy from J's Auto Garage responded quickly with excellent communication about the brake job I needed for my minivan. They're conveniently located within the Livermore Trader Joe's strip mall close to my home. At first, I hesitated to use their services despite the great communication and reasonable estimate because of the mixed Yelp reviews. However, I noticed that most negative comments were old and referred to the previous business, Livermore Auto Center. I learned that J's Auto Garage is actually under new ownership, having opened just a few months ago, so those reviews are not relevant anymore (they need to get Yelp to fix this, so they don't get a bad rep as a new business!).
