I brought my 87 mr2 to their shop for a tune up as well as an oil change and the quality of the oil change as well as the tune up was very good. I also requested for them to check out the headlights since they were inoperative and they were able to have them in operating condition. When all the service was finished I was very surprised about the price. The price for all of this was under 400 dollars which is extremely reasonable for all that needed to be done. Been here 4 times and will keep coming back. Honest service. He's done easy and more involved jobs for our vehicles. I like how the owner can take a quick look under the hood when you arrive or place the vehicle up on the lift to do a quick look. May even get you a quick quote on the spot if the shop isn't too busy. He'll even invite you into the car bay (safely) to point out possible vehicle issues. When i first came it felt like he was in a rush or doesnt want to deal with you but thats far from the truth! He a fast talker and hard working personality ready to help you. Have used shop multiple times for Smogs over the years. It's always easy to call same day and get a smog while I wait or head over to Trader Joes :) Never get stuck sitting there for hours. Love an easy in/out experience! Price is fair especially with the coupon you can print online from Valupak. Good price and easy to work with is a win-win in my book! I've never used them for anything more than Smogs so can't comment on their mechanical knowledge beyond that. read more

My experience was just so-so. Tony seemed very knowledgeable. My check engine light was on which made me fail smog so I brought it to this shop to get it checked out. Tony had recommendations but I had wanted to canvas prices at other places first before moving forward. I only had him run a diagnostic test and eventually change my oil, then I declined other services while I make a decision. He is very straightforward and blunt- which, from other reviews, might come off as "rude" but I feel like he just wants to go straight to the point. He was also prompt at calling me back and updating me. I can only give 3 stars because it still felt like a very average experience- not horrible but not spectacular (customer) service either. Although I did not continue with his suggested service, he did not try to guilt trip me or try to get additional business by maybe exaggerating my situation. He also gave me a VERY reasonable quote on another service that I have been putting off and although I left without getting anything fixed the first time, I am very much considering coming back for other services. read more

Four stars because this was just an oil change and a smog check. They did a fine job but as far as I'm concerned, they got all 4 stars for a 4 star job. I was able to drive right in and get in and out for both in about a half hour. One nice thing about this place is that it's in the same center as Trader Joe's (so I was able to buy some wine, rice and beef jerky), a couple of hair places (so I multitasked and got a haircut too) and a tanning place (i didn't tan because I left my micro-speedo in the glove compartment of my Barbie Ferrari). There are also some food options (a good Chinese place, a popular-but-I-don't-know-why mongolian buffet BBQ place as well as BK and Baker's Square. Usually, I go to places that make me sit and read 1996 Motor Trend magazines. So I'd consider this a trade up because of the location. read more

Horrible experience. Went here for a smog after recently purchasing a used vehicle. I told the owner I had just bought the car and haven't had a chance to go through and maintain the car yet. Right away he already had a bad attitude because he had trouble finding the right gas cap to fit the car for the type of smog test they do on 90's cars. Then he had to drive it onto the rollers to do the next part of the smog, the car is on lowered suspension and the front bumper sits pretty low to the ground, and I casually asked "do you think the front bumper will scrape driving it over the rollers?" The owner got all pissy and stuck his hand out at me and yelled "I got it! Go wait inside!" Yelling at me like a little kid to go wait in the waiting area. Next came the actual smog portion where the car drives on the rollers, he had trouble driving the car because it's a manual transmission with a quick grabbing clutch, so he was rocking it back and forth pretty aggressively trying to drive it on to the rollers. He does the test and it passes, but the engine won't crank now when he tries to start the car to reverse it off once the test is complete. From the waiting area I can hear the engine not cranking (the clicking sound it makes when you have a dead battery) so I stepped back out in to the parking lot to see what was happening. I casually stated that I haven't had any issues with it not starting in the short time I've owned it. This is where things take the biggest turn. He stops what he's doing walks up to me and gets about a foot away and aggressively says "I didn't do anything to your car! You try to blame me for breaking your car!" I was at a loss for words. That's not at all what I was trying to say or insinuate. Now he starts power walking around my car checking things out to why it won't start, while doing so he is repeatedly saying "piece of shit" "piece of shit" about the car. He opened the hood looking for the battery, then slammed it extremely hard once I told him the battery was in the trunk on this car. He finds the battery, tests it, it shows proper voltage, still says I need a new battery that's why it won't start. I had pointed out that one of the battery cables nuts looks like it had fallen off, and maybe that's the reason. He gets a new nut from the shop because we can't reach where the nut from the battery had fallen into, he puts the new nut on and it starts. He then continues to call the car a piece of shit a few more times while I'm standing side by side with him at the trunk, then he slams the trunk even harder than he did the hood and walks back into the shop. Finally Its time to leave this place and never come back. I go to pay, but the owner had one more final send off for me. He tried to tell me the smog coupon I brought in "it's for 1999 cars and up only!" "Won't work for your car!" even though the coupon has a separate discounted price for vehicles pre 1999. He tried to see if I'd just take his word for it, but I didn't because I already knew the coupon was valid for my car before going in. He then honors the pre 99' price and I paid. This place is horrible, the entire experience was really bad, it made me want to get out of there as fast as possible. I haven't seen this level of unprofessionalism in my 32 years of life. Now today my trunk spoiler is loose on the corner from him slamming the trunk so hard. I don't recommend this place to anyone. Take the time to read others reviews, this guy needs an attitude adjustment. If yelp gave a negative amount of stars option this guys business would be in it, because 0 stars just simply isn't enough. read more

AAA got it started and she took it to Tony for diagnosis. She agreed to have them replace the starter after the diagnosis. Tony called back later and suggested she replace the battery also, she told him that didn't sound right because the current battery was less than three years old and that AAA said it was fine. An hour later Tony called back and said he had to jump the car to start it after replacing the starter so she had to replace the battery so she agreed. Do Not Take Your Vehicle Here! I had used them for some small repairs and oil changes. Last repair they sucked me into replacing all my hoses. I did it for my daughters car so she would be safe. Car started overheating he was the last one to work on it and he was close. He charged $95.00 to look at it again and charged for two more hoses. Promptly told me my honda had a blown head gasket. My husband called and he hold him that it was "recommended".
