I had a very bad experience at this spa. Went in for a relaxing pedicure experience and left completely upset. The owner literally did not provide a full pedicure service. was seated at the chair for less than 20 minutes, with no foot scrub, a weak massage, a quick polish change and rush out of the chair. when I expressed that I was not satisfied the owner began to be rude and continue to argue with me. On top of this as a colored women she made me feel belittled as my needs were not relevant to my service requested. Mind you other people in there were being treated fairly and receiving a pampered service. I will never step foot in this place. Customer service here was very horrible here. I have been a faithful customer (once every three weeks) for several years now but I am done. There have been so many mistakes with scheduling and the receptionists are young and don't have the customer service skills to handle any type of problem. The owner Tina is one of the rudest least-compassionate people I've met. I was getting my weddings nails done and the color on their swatch did not match the color they started to put on my nails. I got up to see if there were any similar colors but I couldn't find anything. Nina (who was doing my nails) sat on her phone while I struggled to find a color. Tina stood at the front desk starting at me but not offering any help. Women customers were trying to help me! I began to tear up - out of frustration but also because my Dad passed away two days before this. Tina kept saying things like "you're taking too much time - you pick color," "what color you want?," etc. i told her I didn't understand why no one from the salon was trying to help me and she said she wouldn't help because I am too emotional. I literally had some tears coming down my face - I wasn't yelling, screaming , sobbing, etc. i explained why I was upset and she got angry and said "what color you want?" and I asked if she wanted to come over to the table to look at the color" and she wouldn't. She had no idea what color I wanted but they she said "if we help you pick color, you need to like and be satisfied." At this point I was so upset I just wanted to leave. One of the sweetest souls paid for my pedicure (that color was also wrong because they were out of the color I wanted but I quickly chose another color because it wouldn't be seen during the wedding). Another sweet customer who was waiting for her appointment got up and left - she followed me out to my car and said she was sorry the way I was treated and offered other good nail salons. At 9:00PM that evening, I received a text message from the owner Tina. I reply to the message. Then she replied back to me at 2:00AM. I mean...hmmm where to start. Okay well first off, I've got to say that I've now been here twice and both times left very satisfied with my nails. I've done dip with extensions and as the pictures will show, they've done a lovely job. Unfortunately, I've decided to no longer return because I came across a better salon (imo). Still, let's go over the pros and cons of JT NAILS. Pros -Beautiful nails as a result, clean and done in a timely manner -Large salon space that does more than just nails...waxing is available too! -Walk-ins are possible and plenty of staff to help you choose a color quickly (lol if you're indecisive like me) -Staff tries to build a rapport with you although some may not speak English but that's alright/they're still friendly for the most part -Conveniently located in a plaza with large parking Cons -Final bill always has some random charges on it until your realise they're not random. For instance, it's extra if you want your nails shaped in non square form (so if you're thinking coffin shaped or stiletto or anything non square, keep this in mind). Another example is being charged extra for using 2 colors instead of one...I asked for a different shade of purple dip and was charged for that :/ -Staff sometimes seemed rushed to finish and so they might prick and poke at nails (harming you slightly in the process) -Real nails are a mess. New salon I'm frequenting now mentioned they went too deep/shaved off too much of my actual nail for the extension so gotta let these nails breathe for a bit...they ARE indeed super soft at the moment unfortunately. I will never, ever go back!!! On 4/2/25 at 9:30 AM I had a scheduled appointment for regular nap polish. JT Nails was highly recommended by my sister-in-law & niece. The technician had to redo my o three times. I was leaving for vacation later in the afternoon. When I arrived at home which is 10 minutes away. I found my toe was already chipped. Updating my review after being a regular for 4 years. This is the only place I will get a gel manicure. I have since moved 35 minutes away but still come atleast once a month. I always call and make an appointment, you're going to wait if you try to walk in especially now that only every other seat is used, which I appreciate them still taking COVID precautions. Always clean, Tina is such a nice owner and is always on the floor making sure everyone's having a nice time. They used to play HGTV or the animal channel which I really appreciated but lately it's been law and order SUV and honestly I don't love that since some of the stuff is graphic and I'm usually there for more than an hour, doesn't really fit the relaxing vibe. Had an appt for dip mani. First time coming here, usually an hour in total at any other salon. 2 and a half hours here!! Had a lady named Anna, super nice and friendly, however nails came out horrible. Thick, chunky, translucent, overall very poor work. I also never Used curved tips and when I asked why told me to "point my nails down".... Whatever that means. Cuticles don't exist.. dip just goes right onto my skin. A disaster. Long story short, I went to JT Nails this morning for a gel manicure and I had to get them redone at My Nails tonight. But let me explain. The cuticle cutting, the filing, everything was fine until he started painting THICK coats of the burgundy polish. Now, I don't get my nails done very often but my sister's wedding is this weekend so I needed them to look decent. I was in no place to question what he does everyday since I don't have much experience. I kept my mouth shut and assumed it was alright. He asked if I wanted a third coat and it looked patchy so I said yes. I'm wondering how on earth it looked patchy at that point because we were two thick coats deep but whatever. We finished up and I thank him and I'm on my way. At this point they look gloppy and thick but I'm thinking okay they don't look bad enough for me to complain too much and I have to get to work. Whatever, they're done. Fast forward to 7 hours later and I'm noticing a mysterious red liquid appearing. Is it ink? Is it blood? Nope. It's nail polish. One of the undried, goopy pockets opened up and seeped out of my nail. Fantastic...I can't fix this myself. I race back to the salon after work to make sure to get there before they close. They were already closed due to a "salon emergency". The salon emergency was a skunk. Rewind to this morning, I overhear an employee talking about the reason why they weren't wearing uniforms and why music wasn't playing was because a skunk had gotten into their storage room somehow. Uhhh...what. I thought I misheard. Why would they still be open? I heard her say they were still waiting for animal control so I knew I heard her correctly. This might just be me but a wild animal around your customers doesn't sound like a great idea even if it is in a closed room. So, after I realized they're closed, I went to Perfect Nails down the street to see if they could fix it. I knew they were affiliated somehow so I thought they might have the same colors and they could fix my leaky nail and maybe not charge me because of my predicament. Another nail looked about to burst as well. Turns out, they had a bridal party of ten in there. He asked if I had time to wait. I asked how long and he said an hour, at least. I said fine, I have no choice. I waited there for a half hour and I got to thinking about my options and how shitty my nails actually look. He didn't color match me so I could've waited an hour only to find out he doesn't even have the same color. At this point, my options were running out because it was getting late. No bad blood with Perfect Nails. It wasn't his fault that he didn't have time, so I left. That's when I ended up at My Nails. I walked right in and told them my story and he said you should've come here first and I know now that I should've. My nail tech Shaina was amazing. She removed my crappy gel manicure and redid it the way it was supposed to be done this morning. I won't be going back to JT Nails, especially now that it probably smells like skunk for all of eternity. read more

She seemed to be doing a pretty good job until she burned my cuticles with the drill and she nicked me and didn't even say I'm sorry! How Rude (Stephanie Tanners voice)!! The end result came out nice. I had little stubbies so I couldn't wait for them to grow now that my nails were done. A week goes by and a nail pops off! I don't know when and how it happened. Nails techs were fairly rude and was obvious they didn't want to be there, the young lady at the front was also incredibly rude and when we were waiting to cash out was using inappropriate language to talk about clients that were receiving services. My daughter was getting her nails done and after the lady cut her gel tips she asked the lady if she make them a little longer and the lady said- let me reshape them. She then said they are still too short and she said well don't you like them like this? If not I have to redo them. And my daughter said ok well do u think we could do that, and the lady said but i reshaped them, dont you like them like this? Additionally her thumb nail was super warped to the left side and the lady just acted like she didn't know what my daughter was saying. I had let her go by herself for the first time and was waiting in the waiting area for her to be done when she came out, she had her hands in a ball and was covering her nails I asked her what was going on and she said I'll tell you in the car so I paid $60 and went outside with my daughter who is crying and told me what happened I went back in there and the lady the front desk told me that that's normal and that that didn't happen and that it's also OK that there's still leftover paint on the side of the skin I asked to speak with the lady who did it just to let her know that I wanted my money back because she literally pushed my daughter into doing nails right before school that she's so embarrassed. She has her hands and fist the lady then said that we could be refunded instead of refunding me the front desk girl got on her cell phone walked out of the building and started speaking to her manager outside the store just like she did on the review before mine. She then told me that my daughter had to come back in and remove the nails to get the money back which is this time. My daughter was too embarrassed to come back in my dogs, nails look awful. The whole reason she got them done with that go to school and to look nice and make your hands look good and now she won't even let people see them. We spent all last night taking them off and now we're paying again and going to a different place this morning. I am kicking myself for not going with her and I'm furious that they would take a vantage of a 14 year old knowing that they won't speak up for themselves because they're not an adult. This was my first time visiting JT Nail Spa and I in all honesty had mixed expectations due to some precious reviews I had read. Despite some negative reviews there are also some glowing ones so I wanted to see for myself. I was very pleasantly surprised! Everyone I had dealings with were very kind, considerate, and professional. I had made an appointment online for a manicure and pedicure with Tina but when I arrived Joyce was the one who actually took care of me. Initially I was a little put off by this but Joyce ended up being absolutely amazing and I was incredibly happy to have her. She did a thorough and meticulous job taking care of my dip manicure. I was so impressed by her eye for detail and really appreciated this as that is extremely important to me. She recreated exactly what I had shown her a picture of. My pedicure was also lovely. Joyce is very strong so it was like a deep tissue massage but that's how I personally like them. Unfortunately I did notice that I must have bumped my toe while it was still drying because I noticed once I left there was a chip. This was certainly not their fault though and I was so pleased with everything else that I didn't want to make any kind of fuss over that. They told me there was no money on the card. Thankfully, we had the receipt. I returned a few times after that, but never really got what I asked for. I wanted to come in yesterday- called they said they were booked. Made me an appointment for today at noon. Got in at noon and the reception said I wasn't on the book. I showed her my phone and the 6 times I called day prior before they answered. I finally got in. Deluxe Pedicure was expensive and bland. I mean the service here is truly lazy, for lack of better description. Which is odd bc I came years ago when they first opened and loved my one visit then. Pedicure is mediocre. Had to ask the technician to please put another coat on nail that didn't even look polished. She did but seemed to have an attitude about that ask. Dip manicure on natural nails. Simple? Nope. The technician made my nail shapes wide and flat somehow eliminating the natural shape of my nail .. which I like. I asked her NOT to use any power tools (I prefer just a basic file to create the texture needed for the gel to stick) she said ok and pulled out the filing drill bit.. even after I asked her to please shape my nails to their narrow natural shape she seemed confused and did a coffin nail at the free edge but still didn't thin out the wide sections she over gelled on the nail bed. read more

I will never be going back to JT after my recent experience. I asked for purple nails with daisys for a design and I got almost translucent purple with neon flowers. The nails were cut so short they were basically nubs. They were lumpy and filed horribly. I could have done a better job myself. I complained before I left but did not have time to have them fixed. I was told to come back the following day for the boss to fix them. I showed up yesterday for my appointment and was told by Tina the owner that it was similar and I should be happy. She also said that she could only fix the design. When I expressed that I wanted my nails completely redone because it wasn't just the design that was the problem, she explained that I could only see the same person that did my nails the previous day and if I wanted someone different I would have to pay full price. I paid $65 dollars for them to do a terrible job. I absolutely refused to pay again. I do not recommend JT. Very poor customer service and their prices are ridiculous. Went down the street to Nailphoria and got exactly what I wanted for $25 less. read more

Worst place I've been to yet. The guy who did my nails was Ben and it was horrible. Kept cutting my cuticle with the drill and when putting polish on kept getting his nails into the cut and made it worse. Multiple fingers have cuts. (Pictures to follow) he never drilled over my nails so that the acrylic and glue could bind to my nail so now I have a nail on my right hand with no middle finger because it just so easily popped off. It was a clean pop off because there wasn't anything really holding it there. During my appointment Ben was super aggressive with my hands it genuinely kind hurt he was tugging and when he buffed my nails it felt like they were about to be ripped off. I just do not recommend. Before you call me a Karen I'm an 18 y/o with like no money so when I pay $65 to get my nails done for a date w my bf I expect better you know it's just basic stuff. But OPJ in north Smithfield is AMAZING go there lol! read more
