Ate there last night and had to use their handheld credit card scanner to pay my bill. This morning I have an additional $56.42 charge from some clothing retailer, Fashionista in California, which I did not shop at and have never heard of. According to my bank, it wasn't a single charge. It's a recurring charge. I suspect this charge is related to the use of my credit card on their handheld devices. It's frustrating that I have to dispute the charge and be re-issued a new debit card and have to wait for it to arrive. Talk about a fiesta at this new spot that opened up in my old neighborhood where I grew up! Shout out to Spring Branch for bringing a fun, vibrant Tex-Mex restaurant boasting an extensive menu and amazing award-winning margaritas!! I've been here at least a handful of times now, and I'm always met with friendly service and amazing food and drinks! Perfect spot for happy hour, dinner with friends, or even a casual date night! They have booth seating, four tops, and a crazy awesome bar! I've met the owner and manager and they run a tight ship because food and service has been consistent every time! I highly recommend their watermelon margaritas! It's refreshing and they use real watermelon puree! Ask for a sugar rum or taijin rim if you like it spicy! They offer green and red salsa with their chips, queso is good, and their Elote is a must try too! Their Mariachi plate is delicious! I'd recommend substituting the chicken taco for a beef taco though, personal preference! Their tamales and enchiladas are also super delicious! We came here on a Sunday evening with 10 adults and 4 kids. We did not decide the place, but my husband and I arrived first and let the front know our party size. Immediately, the front desk hostess and the server started giggling to each other and shaking their heads as they gathered menus. They led us to our table (in a room in the back for larger parties, tables and chairs set up already). The server commented to another server our party size in annoyance. I was mutually annoyed by the bold and shameless unprofessionalism, but tried to let it go and enjoy the rest of the evening with our friends. The food was mid anyway, but this review is for the service, or lack thereof. I'm not sure why the restaurant staff were preemptively annoyed by a large party size when they got a 20% auto-tip service fee, despite not even doing the bare minimum of refilling our drinks and chips/salsa. It wasn't even busy, as there were several open tables throughout the restaurant. 3% credit card surcharge - one check, not split. No need to respond to this negative review, Juarez. I started working in the area again and saw they had a new location...my friend and. recently stopped by and it was still bomb as ever The customer service was amazing as usual. It was nice I hadn't seen the owners son in a really long time but he recognized me and it was good to catch up! Still smiling and friendly. I ordered the chefs recommendation and so good as usual. I dined here for lunch a couple of weeks ago. This is a new location of the old and now closed restaurant that was further south on Gessner. It is in a new strip center with plenty of parking out front. Inside it has a modern and airy look with a full bar in the middle and an open kitchen in back. I ordered the beef and chicken fajitas for $20.49. Neither tortillas are homemade so I asked for corn and picked charro for the beans. The complimentary chips and red salsa arrived with the salsa served cool and a good tasting tartness. The entree arrived shortly after and had onions, bell pepper and tomato with the protein on the sizzling platter. The meal came with guacamole and pico de gallo too. The food lacked flavor. I was disappointed in the missing taste and that included the charro beans. With tax and drink my lunch came to over $30 which was way too expensive for the quality I received. It wasn't bad but left a lot to be desired (2.5). Also another interesting fact is their recommended tip percentages are 18, 22 and 25%. I guess the standard 20% is now out of fashion. I give a rounded down 2 score for the underwhelming and expensive fajitas with store bought tortillas. I see no reason to return. read more

My friend and I came here because there was a coupon on the back of an HEB recipt about how you get $5 off if you spend $30. But be careful because this excludes drinks so if you're going to use the coupon, make sure the amount of food you order amounts to $30 or more. When my friend and I were seated, chips and salsa were served right away. We ended up getting the frozen mango margarita and the carne asada. No complaints about either one. They were both good but I definitely think it's overpriced (mango margarita is $14 and the carne asada is $17.99). They do have a happy hour though where you get $2 off margaritas. Other than that, the inside was clean and the service was great- I appreciate all the workers here who made sure my friend and I had a good experience here. I'm not sure if I wil come back since I don't exactly think the food justifies a price but it's not a bad spot. read more

I've been here twice so far. The chicken nachos are not pictured but they were like the beef fajita enchiladas. So-so. They don't hold back on the salt shaker. Parking and ambience were good, but the food is another story. They're likely to keep drawing in locals to the area as there's not many dine in Tex Mex restaurants in this area. I hate to do this, but this restaurant was not that great. The only thing good about this place was the service and ambiance. I travelled from Dallas to Houston and expected to be blown away by the food here but I was extremely disappointed. The salsa felt like it was a can of pace dumped into a cup and the chicken burrito I had just didn't have much flavor. My dad ordered a salad and made the comment that it felt like a meal from a cafeteria. I honestly feel like Taco Bell has more flavor than Juarez. The waiter was sociable and was curious about how we genuinely felt about the food and I think an older gentleman kept checking in on us to make sure we liked the food. Could improve: found a food sticker on a chopped green bell pepper, and I hate to be this person but goodness gracious there was so much grease in the queso flameado. Tbh I didn't quite know what I was ordering I just wanted to try something new so that was mainly on me. it's basically very good melty cheese with meat and veggies that you can put on tortillas like a quesadilla. Right there, in black and white, under the description of the carne guisada plate is had options: "Beef" "Chicken" "Mixed". WHAT??!!!! There's no such thing as "chicken" carne guisada. But I decided to throw caution to the wind and give the beef a try. Nope. Nope. Nope. Carne guisada should taste like it's been stewing all day. The meat should be tender...fall apart tender. The gravy should taste like it came from that long stewing process. Nope. None of those things were true here. The meat, while not being tough, was definitely not a long-stewed meat. The gravy tasted like it came out of a plastic bag from the frozen section at Krogers. The service was very strong, hence the two stars. read more

This place has a history in the area, and I gather a good history. It moved to a much nicer and bigger location down the street and they spent a sizable amount of money on the interior and it shows. It is also family owned I gather and this is a good thing because it translates well into the service aspect. I was excited to eat here mostly because my extended family in the area has been eating at Juarez since they opened at the original location. The inside has a very festive, well lite and had an exciting feel, very different than many Mexican restaurants. But tonight it was only well lite for the start of our margi fest. They had a massive thunderstorm that knocked out the power. Well this only added to the experience. Thankfully we were all ok with the extremely limited menu they offered with no power, and still had a wonderful meal, exceptional service and butt loads of booze! Parking is giant, handicap access is adequate and the bathrooms were spotless. I have a feeling this will become one of our must eat at stops when in the area, and if you live local you are lucky, this place is legit. read more

New location, the old one was in an old Pizza Hut out some such, dismal. The new place is bright and airy in a little strip mall behind buckys off gessner. It's pretty. The staff are happy and wonderful. Went there opening day, Saturday, when they had to open late, bc of some mechanical trouble. Got there mid afternoon, and you'd never have known there was a problem. Had the beef fajita enchiladas, my test order. Delicious. The meat has a great char and was very flavorful. The sauce was fine. The chips and salsa were bland. I was at the bar, and there was no salt in sight, and the chips needed it desperately. Better news on salsa ahead...! Back on Monday, found out they had an habanero salsa... hot af, and so freaking delicious!!! (still no salt) ask for it, I took it home in a little container. For my entree, they had a beef fajita chicken fried steak. Dear lord it was good! I will eat this forever. I was worried it wouldn't be tender, but it was awesome. Very nice white gravy on the side so it wouldn't get soggy, you can have fries, or rice and beans (had rice and beans with the enchiladas on Saturday, rice was tender and tasty, beans were bland). I had fries. Thin, frozen, but well prepared. Again, great venue (tv's a bit too high at the bar) , but the staff was accommodating and lovely, food, so that damn steak, was outstanding. Fun atmosphere, great service, good food. The skinny margaritas were tasty, the portions were generous, and the new building is very modern and well decorated. There are lots of TVs and a cool bar in the center of the restaurant that would be a great spot to watch the game. I believe our server's name was Pedro (although right after he introduced himself a gust of wind came through the patio and he had to chase after the menu that blew away, so I could be mistaken about the name). We decided it would be better to sit inside, and he quickly and graciously reseated us at a booth indoors, which is where the pic was taken. Pedro gave us some recommendations on what to order, and he seemed to really know the menu and enjoy the food there. My grandmother and I sat and enjoyed our margaritas long after the food was boxed up to take home, and our server made sure we knew we were welcome to sit and talk for as long as we wanted. I heard about this restaurant and decided to stop by for lunch. Nice, clean restaurant. I saw their story and I'm sure they are proud of the upgraded building. Unfortunately, I won't be giving them a chance. Ordered ice tea then asked the bartender if they had green salsa. He said yes and they also have habanero so I asked for both. Well I start to eat the chips with different salsas and they taste good! I order La Paz then add chili con queso whic I asked for the tiny cup portion which is$1.50 on the taco Al carbon. The La Paz is a taco Al carbon with enchilada and cost more. He says it's not $1.50 with that meal but $3.50. Ok whatever, won't argue for $2. As I'm going for my next chip with habanero salsa a huge hair follows it. You have someone shedding back there in prep, second review with the same problem. Decided to pay for my tea and leave. They tell the older owner or manager and everyone just goes to the back. No table touch, no apology, no nothing. Bartender comes back and says "you are good to leave". Funny, not sure what class or life lesson teaches you to allow someone to leave a restaurant without a remedy. read more
