Well, I think it's been a while since I've given one of these out but if I walk out of a restaurant without eating then I have no choice. I heard about this restaurant and decided to stop by for lunch. Nice, clean restaurant. I saw their story and I'm sure they are proud of the upgraded building. Unfortunately, I won't be giving them a chance. Ordered ice tea then asked the bartender if they had green salsa. He said yes and they also have habanero so I asked for both. Well I start to eat the chips with different salsas and they taste good! I order La Paz then add chili con queso whic I asked for the tiny cup portion which is$1.50 on the taco Al carbon. The La Paz is a taco Al carbon with enchilada and cost more. He says it's not $1.50 with that meal but $3.50. Ok whatever, won't argue for $2. As I'm going for my next chip with habanero salsa a huge hair follows it. You have someone shedding back there in prep, second review with the same problem. Decided to pay for my tea and leave. They tell the older owner or manager and everyone just goes to the back. No table touch, no apology, no nothing. Bartender comes back and says "you are good to leave". Funny, not sure what class or life lesson teaches you to allow someone to leave a restaurant without a remedy. read more

Before leaving town for Christmas, I had to get my Mexican fix! There are some places closer that I'm more familiar with, but they're pricier and I was getting bored with them. So I decided to try something new - for take out. Juarez did not let me down. We got beef flautitas and queso for appetizers. Glad we only got the medium queso - it was enough to munch on chips and queso the next day too! We split the tacos al carbon with chicken. TONS of food. Very tasty chicken, not dried out at all. And, feeling gluttonous, we ordered sopapillas for dessert. They were spot on. Huge and puffy with just the right amount of cinnamon and sugar on them and honey on the side for dipping. These sopapillas were perfection. Definitely will be passing on this suggestion to others in the area. Yummy food. Good prices. Just need to try the margaritas. ;) read more

I love this restaurant so much - have I never reviewed it? I've been coming for years - shame on me. The food is always delicious and the restaurant and staff friendly and comfortable, eager to make one feel like "a regular". They're moving locations soon. I will follow. read more

I ordered lunch online because I was craving refried beans. This was my first time in the establishment. I was very impressed with the dining room. The owners took great care in making it bright and lively! This is not your typical Mexican restaurant dining room. There's sinage advertising brunch starting on 11/4/23, I'm excited for this as I would love to sit out on their patio and watch anything on the two large screen television! The patio is a little cozy, but is great for beautiful sunny fall weather! I was impressed with the takeaway packaging and the food is delicious! My only complaint is that the refried beans are a bit watery and need a bit more seasoning not sure if they use lard in their beans. Overall, I was happy with my meal, it seems this restaurant adds modern flair to their food as it was light and not heavy like Mexican food can be. I'll be back to try another dish and have a margarita! This place is a must try!! read more

"Known for generous portions" really....? This is by far the worst "Mexican food" there is in spring branch. $21 for 6 strips of meat, 75% of the plate was all onion and bell pepper. The service was horrible. The host looked pissed off. The food was completely cold. The Carne Guisada plate I ordered was just beef steak with sauce added to it the meat was too chewy and chunky the rice was not flavorful nor the beans. My order came out wrong and had to return some items because it was not what I ordered. They need more people one waiter was waiting on serval tables and then needed to go make drinks for his tables I felt so bad for him because he looked stressed. While I was ordering my food he walked away from me and put his finger up and told me to hush and wait that he would be back I thought that was so rude. I ordered takeout well after the lunch rush, which was ready in a timely fashion. One plate ordered was beef enchiladas with double charros...no rice and it was fine...plenty of ground beef well-seasoned...except for lacking on red sauce. The other dinner ordered was enchiladas verdes...ordered no beans but no double rice either. That order had double rice. I had asked for grilled vegetables (like small portion of those served with fajitas) as a substitution...second choice was lettuce and tomatoes. I was hopeful to get grilled veggies as that, to me, is the kind of thing that makes a customer come back...but I got lettuce and tomatoes...message received. Enchiladas verdes were very full of shredded chicken...but there was not enough verde salsa on top. Rice was okay and charros were quite tasty. This was not a bad experience...just a disappointing one. I would hope that Juarez would add some non-carb sides to their menu as choices. read more

Sister and I meet up in Houston periodically and found this place by chance and saw good reviews, we decided to try it.. sooooo glad we did. The place was amazing! Do you ever find yourself looking for a Mexican restaurant that is like that spot you went to every week as a kid? Whether family was in town or you were celebrating a milestone, you would go because you knew that your favorite restaurant was like an extension of your family or needed to be included in your special day? Well friend, let me tell you that Juarez will give you all the warm fuzzies and make you feel like you have found that spot that was just like the one you loved growing up! First off, the staff. PJ, Eric, Marco, and Pedro always greet my husband and I with a smile, a hand shake, and sometimes even a hug. After a few visits they knew exactly what we wanted to drink (skinny ritas) and exactly how we liked our queso (with ground beef and both fresh and pickled jalapeños on the side). Second, the ambiance. I have yet to visit Juarez and not see neighbors running into each other or tables of folks that don't even know each other engaging in conversation because they just feel so at home. One night, a fellow patron even gave my husband a bottle of beard oil during one of our visits - YALL THIS IS THE 4TH (soon to be 3rd) LARGEST CITY IN THE COUNTRY. This does not happen if you aren't in a warm and inviting environment. Third, the food. Literally everything on the menu is good. Fajitas, shrimp tacos with the jalapeño ranch drizzle, enchiladas, crunchy tacos, and DO NOT get me started on that "spicy sauce" aka the atomic hot sauce that you can ask for. And y'all, I wasn't even going to post this last part but I am just going all in on this review. In June, after my husband and I were sort of Juarez newbies, he went and dropped off flowers at the restaurant in advance of our anniversary dinner and asked that our favorite table be reserved. When we arrived, they had set the table with our drinks and queso and I am telling you I about fell out. To this day, my husband talks about how he just wanted the flowers on the table and that our friends at Juarez went the extra mile to make our wedding anniversary special. I am telling you the food, service, and fellowship are the real deal at Juarez. read more

Great food. Reasonably priced. Delivery has been a Godsend. I don't know why more Mexican restaurants have the basic Tex-Mex standard anymore: couple of enchiladas, a taco, guacamole, and chili con queso puff with of course rice and beans. I'm a regular at this place! Everything is good here. Queso and margaritas are a good starter. I usually go for nachos or a quesadilla for an appetizer, super delicious and easy to split!
