Maybe because I saw extremely positive reviews for this place, hence my expectations. Sadly, my hopes fell flat. Nonetheless, support local business! Judy has her own fan base in the area. If you want to order anything, you'll have to join her private FB group by answering a few questions asked in Mandarin. We ordered a custom birthday cake - You'll have to do this 2 weeks in advance. You get to choose the cake flavor, and 2 different types of filling. The exterior will be your typical Asian whipped cream with fresh fruits. After you order through her google form, you'll have to text her as well so she can check if she got your order. Then, you can choose to pay via PayPal (show the receipt in person during pickup), or pay credit card (I think she also takes cash). The latter methods are in person during pickup. Day of, Judy called us to say she was running late (which we were totally fine with). We arrived in the small parking lot, and her shop is in between a bunch of auto repair shops. When we went inside, the space was pretty packed with inventory, and you see Judy and her staff super busy all doing their own thing: she's assembling cakes, someone is folding cake boxes, another is carrying out baked sponge cakes... We got a cake with black sesame base, with taro filling and pudding filling: +/-1 black sesame was poorly mixed in the entire batter. However, the pieces that I bit into had a nice sesame flavor! The cake itself was nice, light and moist though. +/-1 a bit disappointed by the taro filling - it was just chunks of taro mixed in the whipped cream. I was hoping it would be mashed taro instead. +1 pudding tasted homemade! I liked it. -1 a bit surprised there was SO much whipped cream. I wish there was a way to ask for less (probably is). For $38, this was quite a pricey 8" cake. Would I get it again? Not sure. Would I want to try other stuff she sells in her FB group? Probably!

This is a home style Taiwanese chef who has a commercial kitchen to meet demand for her style of food. Every business is a community; this one is no exception. Photos of the cakes are on FB, there are regular rotation items which show up on mamacook for less than a day. Menu varies depending on what customers want. This isn't a substitute for korean bakeries. They don't sell to the general public via walkup traffic. Everything is made to order after ordering on wechat/FB/mamacook. The owner gives cooking classes. Cakes use whip cream wo the additives in the commercial korean bakeries. You can customize the inside layers and outside to your liking and control the sweetness level by indicating the amount of sugar added to the cream pre whipping. The cheesecake is asian style, they take it out of the mold when you show up for pickup. If you eat it right away or a hour or so later it is one of the best warm light, fluffiest cakes you can experience. The steam hasn't condensed. Many shops follow this protocol including Uncle Tetsu or Subway with their fresh bread. If you like taiwanese style food, this is the place to go. Not as salty as the commercial restaurants and better food quality. Some of the noodle soups are good; they sell out regularly. Very popular w/kids. Homemade broth and not strong flavor or overly salty. The 3lb packs of make your own dumplings are designed for people with kids and less time to cook and shop. This is a better style than buying frozen dumplings because it takes less room for storage, the final product is better; store premade dough/filling in airtight container in fridge. Enough for 4 people for multiple servings. Helps tremendously with meal prep. Most of the customers don't use Yelp. English too much trouble. the lower reviews don't understand the how this business works or the customer base.

Judy's handmade goods always bring back memory of good time and flavor back in Taiwan. This is an unique shop that rotates it's menu daily, providing great selection of different Taiwanese cuisine. You need to contact Judy through the Facebook to be added to a private Facebook group to see the daily pre-order menu and place orders. I think they used to provide family cooking classes but due to covid19 it's transformed into making take-out orders for baked goods and Taiwanese cuisine. This photo is wonton in red chilly sauce, a copycat of ding tai fun, made from Judy's hand made frozen wontons (+soy sauce, vinegar, sugar, chopped green onion, sesame oil, trader joe onion crunch, hot sauce, and **peanut powder**). Judy seeks for healthy natural ingredients put-together authentic Taiwanese baking and dishes. No shortcut with pre-made overly-processed ingredients. She's wearing multiple hats, running this whole operation by herself most of the time, from managing orders, shopping &preparing ingredients, baking /cooking, packaging, and lastly assisting pickup/customer interaction. Please support small business through this tough time by exploring more local takeout options. We can make it through together.

The cake rolls are absolutely delicious! The cake is light and moist with right level of sweetness, the cream and filling are light and fresh and the amount is really generous .You'll taste no artificial flavor but the flavor from high quality ingredients. If you like Japanese or Taiwanese cake rolls, this is the right place for you.

Weekly menu changes via FB post. Everything freshly made. Very high quality. Have to place order in advance; can pay via paypal to be covid safe. No dining outside. Commercial kitchen. Other reviews accurate. This is by far the best asian bakery in the bay area for cakes. Big difference when something is not refrigerated and premade. I never knew that. Taiwanese style. Cheesecake: order from FB group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/Judyhandmadecake/. Join and wait fro approval. Takes a while bc owner is so busy. CC is warm and freshly popped out of mold when you pickup. The freshly baked results in different texture than anything from local bakeries or franchise chains. Not sweet, not like an American cheesecake, more like a souffle. Similar to a chawan mushi custard. Similar to the Japanese cheesecakes. Very light. Other reviews accurate, the light airy texture changes after refrigeration. Better than mass produced cheesecakes which are either shipped over frozen like Paris Baguette. Also sell wonton, jiaozi dough/filling in DIY kits. They post when available and you order through mamacook: https://mamacook.mobi/en/customer/events They speak english on pickup, most customers are chinese speaking. pickup line moves slowly. budget 1/2 hr.

Sushi cake: shredded pork (pork "sung") & cucumber inside, nori (seaweed) outside.
    Gina C. M.

In addition to traditional cakes, there are Asian flavors as well as a unique "sushi cake" with shredded pork (pork "sung") & cucumber inside, nori (seaweed) outside. Other offerings include cold noodles & Taiwanese sticky rice, as well as Chinese pastries & bao. Currently their only online presence is on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/groups/Judyhandmadecake/ (Yelp won't let me add this as their website.) Store is a "deli inside an auto repair plaza & cross street is Kifer". Submit orders via Google Doc in their Facebook group: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSe4cPW2We2HSs-rwW4LWdvL1vIxIdY1_66F22X6iYB8d6J_fQ/viewform Order 14 days in advance for weekend orders. ( Weekday orders: 7 days in advance.) Can also order via various foodie groups on FB. Usually pick up Tue & Sat at various locations including Sunnyvale & Cupertino. Parking is plentiful in the parking lot. Staff were cordial and wore aprons with some letters that were falling off...seemed weird. Opted for the matcha millefeuille and it was excellent! Numerous layers of super light crepe filled with strong matcha flavor. Most importantly this wasn't too sweet! The packaging was A+. The place was situated in a quiet plaza just outside of Lawrence Expressway. There's ample parking but it doesn't feel like the location is suitable for a cafe where you can picture sitting inside looking through some big windows facing a busy pedestrian walkway. However, once I stepped inside, I was surprised at how zen and peaceful the decorations were and how fitting it was for a cozy and quiet cafe hangout. The cake shelf was surprisingly busy. And this is where I took one star out because the lines were confusing and the staff skipped me to talk to the group behind me while I was clearly the next to be helped. Luckily another staff member came out from the back kitchen and jumped in to help. The staff spoke fluent mandarin. I was interested in their box cakes. A few of the yelpers raved about their soy milk cake and luckily they had one out for sampling. It was covered with lots of cream and the cake layer was soft and moist, but it was still slightly too sweet for me and I felt that it lacked the tofu kind of soy flavor. Then, I spotted on their menu that they have a black sesame matcha box cake, and black sesame is always my favorite, so I asked for it. They had the last one left! The staff said she had never tried it so she couldn't tell me if it is less sweet than the soy milk cake. Since it was the last one available and I already sampled the soy cake, I decided to give it a try. I am happy that I did. The cake was filled with matcha mousse and tasted light and aromatic with the jasmine kind of matcha flavor. It is definitely less sweet. Unfortunately, it doesn't have as much black sesame as I'd like. But overall, the cake flavor is the kind that I like, subtle, moist, and not too sweet. $38 for a box cake of 4x4 is a bit pricey, but I'm glad that I gave it a try. The cakes were freshly made and tasted best the same day of purchase. They also recommend refrigerating the cake and consuming it within a day or two.

Don't sleep on the black pepper sausage danish: the croissant dough is crisp and flaky, and doesn't get soggy when baked around the sausage. It's comparable in execution to the Croissant Hot Dog served at Dominique Ansel Las Vegas (in Caesar's Palace), but at a way more accessible price point. Which isn't to say this place is cheap; like many artisanal bakeries in California, it comes with a premium price tag, but at least it's not Dominique Ansel pricy. Croissante's croissant dough baked goods (viennoiserie) is pun-intended "proof" that you get what you pay for. The dining space is limited and lively. Conversing is a little tough, but if you just need a place to sit while eating, it's just right. Extra special shout out this time to Dill who had informed me the fried chicken dishes today would be an hour and a half wait. After deciding there wasn't anything I wanted more than the Fried Chicken and Spiced Croffle (croissant dough baked in a waffle iron) and was happy to wait, they were nice enough to check in with the kitchen and see if it could be made sooner than that. I didn't expect to be accommodated, so I was happy they were able to do that. You get two chicken thighs and croffles per order. It's enough for two light eaters to share.

Depending on the time, it can get quite crowded. I came in around 9:30am and by the time I got to checkout, the baristas ran out of dine-in mugs. Which is why I opted for an iced americano. It had a nice creama layer and a well balanced flavor. Not too acidic or bitter. I got the french onion soup, labeled as a popular item/staple of the bakery. It is quite a lot of soup, I wish it came with a side of bread/sourdough as towards the end it was all soup and nothing to contrast it. It was nicely broiled at the top with some small pieces of bread and a healthy layer of cheese that made it so exciting to eat. Even the crust of the bread had some crunch although fully soaked. The bakery has wifi which is really handy since I think reception in that area wasn't the best. Wifi password is displayed at the register. I will come back to try the sandwiches!

I usually get the same item at Basquia Bakery: Korokke, a Korean style fried bread with a crispy panko exterior, filled with savory mash potatoes. For $3, it's a good deal for a snack. Some of Basquia Bakery's baked goods are not labeled so I would have totally overlooked their Korean mochi bread if it weren't for TikTok. Last fall, Korean sweet potato mochi bread (goguma ppang) went viral. For months, the commercial frozen ones were sold out at Korean markets. The supply has since been replenished (along with frozen kimbap) but if you can't commit to an entire bag like myself, then this is for you. Plus, this may be the only bakery in NorCal selling freshly made Korean mochi bread. M E N U Along with mochi bread, Basquia Bakery sells cakes (slice + whole), roll cakes, fruit tarts, cream puffs, bread, buns, k corn dogs, etc. For drinks, they have non-caffeinated lattes (e.g. black sesame and beer). M O C H I B R E A D Available in pairs ($4) or a variety box of the five flavors ($9). I went with the latter. Visited Saturday morning around 9:45 am and the had about a 50% supply left. Can we talk about how adorable these are?! The mochi bread is shaped based on their flavors. The mochi "bread" is mochi with a chewy exterior filled with a mashed filling. This is my personal preference but I like mochi that has more of an elastic, bouncy QQ chew which this didn't quite have. The texture did improve after air-frying the leftovers. Flavors: * Sweet Potato // 4 stars Looks and tastes exactly like the real deal with sweet, fluffy mashed interior but hits different with the slight gelatinous chew. Tip: Eat this with kimchi. It's adds a delicious tang and heat to contrast the natural sweetness. * Corn // 4 stars Enjoyed the creamy corn filling with kernels for texture. * Potato // 4 stars Savory, creamy mashed potatoes. I wanted to pair this with a steak. Lol. * Chestnut // 4 stars I love roasted chestnut but this has cinnamony, chocolatey notes from the dusting of cocoa powder + cinnamon. There were chunks of roasted chestnut. * Kabocha // 3 stars Again, tasted like the real deal but too sweet for me. Overall, glad I tried this cute novelty at Basquia Bakery. I'm now convinced to buy a bag of the commercial frozen ones, yanno for taste test comparison purposes. ;)

Nahita Bakery operates a humble storefront with large glass display cases showing off their delicious baked goods, fried pastries, and stewed meats and vegetables. As a first timer, it was a feast for hungry eyes! We came in on a weekday afternoon and were hankering for a snack before dinner. The staff welcomed us in and gave us a quick introduction to their offerings. My mouth was already salivating at the sight of the golden brown pastries and at the mention of olives and cheese, I was committed! We ended up getting a coupe of their items including achmas (pastry made with sweetened dough) and pogaca (pastry made with buttery dough) - one filled with olives and one with the feta cheese. We also got a borek (pastry made with phyllo dough) with ground beef and asked to be cut up so it can be shareable. The olive achma was fragrant and soft when torn into. The olives were flavorful and distributed well within the bun. The feta cheese pogaca was flavorful and was layered into bun. I think it would have tasted even better warmed but it was delicious nonetheless. The distribution of the cheese could have been better to better fill my mouth with those flavors. The borek was a star but too heavy for one person to eat. The fried dough was crispy and paired with the ground beef made for a hearty snack to go with something warm to drink. The other pastries and entrees looked good and although we didn't have the stomach space for it this time, we know we will be back when we are in the area to try something new. Perhaps we will get to try their coffee next time! Overall, Nahita Bakery does an amazing job bringing their Turkish culture through food to the South Bay. Their quality of work is shown in the food's presentation, ingredients, and flavors and the clean open dining space elevates the dining experience here whether you're in for breakfast, lunch, a snack, or dinner. Their large parking lot shared by other small businesses is fantastic for those looking to get in and out on some errands.
