We stopped in to Judy's Place for dinner on a quick trip to Mobile. We have passed it many times but never stopped and finally did. We are now kicking ourselves for not stopping soon. The steak was delicious and well cooked as well as the best fried oysters we have had in a while. Everything was fresh and well seasoned. The servers were very nice and prompt with refills and Andy request was handled quickly. It was a nice quiet dinner even though the restaurant was relatively busy. We definitely plan on visiting again next time we are in town. read more

This place is THE best! We always try to have Judy's at least once a week. The daily specials are always on point.

Some of the best southern style home cooking you'll find anywhere around. I had the country fried chicken and my lady had the smothered hamburger steak, and both were amazing. This is my third time here and I'm always blown away. The banana pudding has to be the best on earth, yea it's that good. Food is also cheap, which is almost impossible to find nowadays. If you're traveling on 90 and looking for some no frills home cooking, you'll absolutely love this place. Heard about a place that serves a burger made with 50% beef& 50% conecuh. I HAD to check that out. Fries were decent, so was the burger. Idk if they were afraid to season it because of the flavor of the conecuh (if it was actually 50/50 I might tend to agree), but they definitely decided not to go heavy with the seasoning. Fix that & it would go from ok to great. I been living in Mobile for about 4 years now, and I want to say that Judy's is probably one of my favorite places to eat when I'm craving a good ole southern meal. They're always packed, but it the waiting time is not too bad, the food and service is worth it!! They don't over charge like most places here do. I love the vibes in there too, it feel's like back home. Super family oriented, but they also have a bar, that serves yummy drinks. This place checks ALL boxes, and I have never been disappointed!! Pretty good! What looks like a real dive on the outside, sitting next to a huge parking lot by the Old Time Pottery. The inside was nicer and pretty full. They obviously have a lot of local support. Prices are reasonable for seafood. I made the mistake of getting blackened fish. It just wasn't blackened. It was too salty and could have used more pepper and other spices. However, the crawfish Julie sauce is really good. Mashed potatoes were like the old cafeteria ones that are served with an ice cream scoop. Green beans were good. Service was friendly and drinks were refilled. Not long of a wait. I'd try it again. read more

This hidden gem is amazing. We had to go to Costco and my hubby was starving so I jumped on here to find a restaurant nearby. So glad I expanded my search! The food was excellent, as was the service. Between all 4 of us, nothing disappointed... Spinach dip, blackened shrimp , field peas, turnip greens, chicken tenders, fries, grilled cheese, corn, and salad. The ranch tasted homemade and the shrimp had some delicious seasoning on it. We went on a Monday afternoon at 330 and they still had a half the restaurant full. That should tell you how good it is. Seating is very casual. We went with two little kids, and while they don't have a designated "kids menu", there are kids portions on the menu. Lots of great beers to choose from. We actually discussed making this a regular stop for our Costco shopping days. Note that it's hidden across from Old Time Pottery. I had heard good things about this restaurant, so when my friend wanted to get take out. I got a hamburger with onion rings. I tasted the hamburger with cheese and bacon, and it was the worst burger I've ever eaten. I tried the onion rings and they were better than the burger but not good. I tried to eat the onion rings but I put the burger in my garbage as well as half of the onion rings. I was sick all night and most of the day today. I'll never eat anything from there again. My friend enjoyed her BLT. My friend said I should try it again. That's not going to happen. read more

We eat at Judy's at least once or twice a month. The food is always good. My favorite is Country Fried Steak. The staff is generally friendly and business is almost always busy. The restaurant is always clean. It's a bar on one side of restaurant and restaurant tables on the other. Banana pudding is very good! read more

Haven't been in a while but decided to try it since Neighbors was closed (Monday) and we were down that way. The service was pretty good and the food selections were ok too but the food itself was average at best. They have a daily lunch special but nobody told us what it was and I never saw it written down anywhere. I guess you have to know and ask. We found out later it was chicken and dumplings. Glad we didn't ask cause I've had them before and they taste like they came straight out of a can. The food we had was ok. It was far from delicious country cooking.
