I stopped in the Kaboose, not for some juice nor smoothie, but for a California Wrap. The wrap came on a Southwest Chipotle Tortilla and came filled with a variety of healthy ingredients. All the ingredients were very good, but they put way to much fresh spinach in the wrap that made it hard to taste and enjoy the rest of the ingredients in the wrap, especially the roasted turkey and avocado. I had pick both out to taste them for their quality. The turkey was simple, tender, and mildly seasoned and the avocado ripe and creamy. Both the black beans and brown rice were well cooked with tender individual morsels, and the Swiss cheese in the wrap, was hardly noticeable given they only placed one slice in the wrap. In the end, more cheese please. The red onions and tomatoes were in the wrap, just in small numbers, but like I said, there were way to much greens in the wrap which underscored the rest of the ingredients. However, I could see how some people would like that. Nevertheless, it was a good wrap and I would not kick it out. Also, the employees, two young ladies, where absolutely sweet hearts and up beat. MY FAVORITE ACAI BOWL PLACE IN SD! This place is the place to go for acai bowls! They come in huge, long containers filled about halfway with acai mix and the other half with their DELICIOUS, crunchy granola (definitely the best granola, in my opinion) and fresh fruits. I always get the Rise & Shine Acai Bowl which has cocoa and espresso mixed with their signature acai mix, topped with granola, bananas, pineapple, and strawberries. Sometimes they hook it up with the fruit, but I have also experienced when they have skimped out a bit on the fruit. But other than that, the acai mix is always delicious. I have also had their Lotta Beta Bowl which is more on the less sweet, healthier side because of the beets, but this is still also delicious if I'm not feeling too much of a sweet tooth. For $8, these bowls are well worth it! Their smoothies are also always really fresh and you can watch them make it fresh right in front of you. They are super nice about doing customizations on any orders. I always add spinach to my smoothies and sometimes change around the fruit ingredients and they are always super willing to do that. I always call in for pick-up so my acai bowl is ready by the time I get there and the workers are nice and courteous over the phone in getting my order and also in person. This is my go to spot for an Acai bowl in San Diego. Yes it seems pricey but the ''hungry'' size for $6 is huge and definitely shareable. They pile it high with fruits and the hemp granola just knocks it out of the park. I always mean to try something else but I just can't quit you, Acai bowl. They're also great about making the bowl to your liking in terms of what fruits you might not want in there or if you don't want your acai blended with soymilk, etc. I've had Acai bowls at other places and I think they just make it the perfect consistency and sweetness here. Not too chunky with ice and juuust creamy enough. My only wish is that they would swap out mangoes for something else in the winter. They're just a bit sour that time of year and I'm sure some other fruit would work better. The mangoes are delicious in the summer when they're in season though! There's not much seating inside and a little bit of seating outside. Your best bet is to just head down to La Jolla Cove and eat it while you people watch :) read more

Rude Staff. Give off racist tendencies to other POC even though some of them are POC. I bought a smoothie from here one time and they didn't even acknowledge me until they felt like doing so. The process of buying the drink was just awkward. And when I took my card out after paying they didn't even ask if I wanted my receipt they just straight up walked away (clarifying: when the receipt option popped up on the screen, they didn't even give me time to press on any option, they turned the screen away from me and left.) While I was waiting on my order a white elderly lady walked in and they full on greeted her and communicated so well to her wtf do these employees get off on. Have had many similar experiences while buying from here thinking maybe they are just having a bad day but it is always the same. YUMMY tasting Acai Bowls in bowls that are large enough to eat in a car without it dripping all over the place and on your face! Have been to a few juice bars that serve acai bowls..and this takes the cake...... they have the freshest ingredients and their acai mix is delicious. The fruit is always fresh and plentiful. Granola is tasty- and gets as good as granola gets. Service is good. They are pretty laid back ...sometimes almost too laid back ...I've seen them eating and snacking on stuff while working from time to time. Hey I am not complaining as long as I don't get sick. Place is tiny inside with 2 stools....so don't plan on eating inside. There are some outside tables though. This place does get busy, so don't plan on star treatment. Prices are decent....bowls are $7 for regular size and $13 for the large. Sadly, the other day was my 4th time and I have to say they have skimped on their portions the last two times. It used to be so full , and now they have probably cut back 1/4th of their product. Fruit drives me crazy sometimes...they use seasonal fruit ..so that is great..but if you are a fan of something..ask for it or else you will get the seasonal. They sell sandwiches, wraps, smoothies, healthy snacks and pitaya items as well. My favorite is the IRONMAN Acai Bowl- blueberries mixed with Acai, soymilk, peanut butter, granola, and seasonal fruit on top. Extra toppings are $.50 each. Cheers read more
