Everything tasted super fresh and the açaí was really good. Love the amount of strawberries and seasonal fruit added on top. It is a pretty generous portion and I probably could have split this with a friend. Super friendly staff. There is a bit of a wait when you order since it's a popular spot.

Acai was very good! The wait was 20-25 but went up to 50 by the time we got our bowls. Got the wave and a regular acai bowl. I enjoyed the variety on the wave but I think next time I'll stick to the original. Great amount of fruit and they take phone orders.

One of the best açaí bowls I have ever had and one of the prettiest! The fresh fruit and all of the flavors (coconut, pitaya, and pineapple) were SO good! I love how they are made with local and fresh ingredients too. Their house made granola is great too. You got inside to order, but there isn't seating inside. There are some spots outside, but I recommend taking it to go to Mission Beach that's close by. The staff were super friendly, welcoming, and helpful. They gave us a box to be able to carry our bowls to go. They were HUGE!!! I think you can definitely share a bowl between two people. We all definitely had more than enough when we each got a Wave bowl for ourselves. They look really good and taste really good too. I would really recommend Juice Wave if you are looking for an amazing açaí bowl near the beach in San Diego :)

I come to San Diego multiple times a year, and always make the walk to Juice Wave for probably the best açaí bowl I've ever had. The açaí itself feels fresh and not too sweet, with local perfectly ripe fruits piled on top and their homemade granola. I always add the fresh peanut butter for extra flavor. This place is so incredible, so expect a bit of a wait especially on a sunny Saturday morning! Still the owner and her staff are very friendly and hardworking in this small walk-up stand in mission beach. Highly recommend!

Prefacing with - I don't really eat Acai Bowls, it feels like just a thick smoothie with some toppings but I cannot deny that Juice Wave changed my perspective completely and I understand the hype. You can't really beat the refreshing taste of fresh fruit and nutty granola and butter. Especially when you can take this delectable bowl to the beach and just vibe in the sand. Wave Bowl $16 (14.50+1.50): 5/5 The bowl itself looks fairly small like, but deceptively so since I was stuffed after eating the whole thing for breakfast. It is higher cost than I would usually spend but I don't eat açaí bowls to know the average. Personally I really liked that the toppings were at the bottom and the bases were on top, not just because it was a beautiful display but because sometimes when it is the opposite, it can quickly get messy with toppings falling and dropping. The granola was crunchy and the add-on nut butter ($1.50) was plentiful and contrasted well to the fruits. You get some finely diced strawberries and bananas that were just the right amount of ripe, the bananas a little more firm but definitely preferred with the bases. The pineapple spirulina was favorite as it had a good sweetness to it. Honestly wished I could get a bowl with just this as a base and of course the natural blue color is just so unique. Coconut was coconutty and the pitaya was brightly colored, not too much distinctive taste on this one. Peak San Diego Experience

There was a line when we arrived, but it moved fairly quick. We placed our order at the register, as the worker was super sweet & made small talk with us as it was our first time here. We came on a Sunday morning so our two bowls were a 30-40 minute wait, however if you are not there to pick it up, they kindly put it in the freezer for you for when you come back. * Pitay-Dye Bowl - 9.5/10 (the acai base had the perfect texture of creaminess, & the sweetness of berry was perfect. the pitaya base was strong of dragonfruit flavor & not icy at all. the honey granola was very crunchy, with a good ratio of it to the base. i like how they finely chop the strawberries & bananas, & pack it on top of the bowl. they definitely do not skimp here. one of the best acai i have ever had! ~tine) * The Wave Bowl - 9.2/10 (all three sorbets were super flavorful. each were all light & refreshing without being too sweet. i liked the blue spirulina sorbet the most. i personally can't describe the taste, but it was delicious enough to make my toes curl. the bowl had a generous amount of strawberries, banana, & granola. the honey also added a nice external sweetness to the bowl. the bowl overall was super refreshing & addicting. i could eat the bowl full of just the blue spirulina base! ~jerm)

This açaí bowl really did live up to the hype!!! Even at noon on a busy beach Saturday it only took about 20 minutes (which they told us when we ordered) and it worth every minute and penny! The bowls are large and filled to the brim with fresh fruit. Would definitely recommend the homemade almond butter too. 10/10 and I can't wait to go back!!

These bowls are just as good as they look! Packed with so much fresh fruit on top, delicious granola, and refreshing açaí, this is the best açaí bowl I've ever had. Tip, add the almond butter (made in-house), it's incredible!

My husband and I were in PB for a few days, and found Juice Wave the day before we left. I wish we'd found it sooner. The morning we went, a batch of granola was baking, smelling pretty much like the best thing in the world on a cold drizzly morning. We tried the Purple Rain, one of the green smoothies, and an Açai bowl. I found the prices high, but not out of line considering it's in California, the shop supports local food suppliers & growers, and the portions are decently sized. Also - Juice Wave's Açai bowl is out-of-this-world great and totally addictive! Arleigh gave us info and samples of Açai and Pitaya, and explained some of the nutritional benefits of acai. All of that stuff about the bowl being good for me went out the window with my first bite - I thought: this tastes too good to be healthy. I only wish we were in town more often so I could go back more frequently. Also, ask them about their stickers, they are very cute. UPDATE: Taking back my statement about Juice Wave's prices being high. I tried an Acai bowl place in Henderson NV (located in The District, in Green Valley), same prices as Juice Wave, and received a lower quality product and less of it than Juice Wave offers. Sooooooo.... I'm going to say that Juice Wave gives good value for your money, in addition to the staff being knowledgeable, helpful and the shop using local products. read more

Soooo bomb. They use the freshest ingredients. Love the açaí bowl with peanut butter, the immunity shot when I'm feeling a cold coming, and the Cali Chrome smoothie. This was me & my husbands first time here, this is seriously the best açaí bowls I've ever had, and I've had a lot of açaí bowls in my life, and this one topped them all. I got the Piyatye Dye" açaí bowl and it's half açaí & half dragon fruit. This place doesn't skim you on the fresh fruit toppings either. Legit every bite has a piece of fruit in it. The girl that makes them is EXTREMELY sweet & helpful. Definitely coming back before we leave back to Dallas. read more

The juice wave is something I would surely like to see in Washington DC. I mean don't get me wrong we have juice bars but it's something about the west coast fruit and vibes that make this place an instant hit.....they have a ton of smoothie or cold press juice flavors so when they offered us a sample of the vitamin key or sea....that's the one we ultimately went with....no better way to start your day then with a huge serving of natural fruit and sugars. We called in to Juice Wave after a 7-mile run on the boardwalk to make sure this place was not like Jamba Juice. She said they go to farmer's markets every day or every other day to pick up fresh, organic fruits and vegetables. Yea! So, we stopped in and ordered a smoothie and two juices. There were samples to try to get an idea of the flavors. Lots of fresh and wonderful things to add in to any drink you'd like, proteins, other raw supplements. The ladies were quite lovely and wonderful to interact with. They've only been open three months and I'm hoping they get to stay in the zone with their inspiring, whole food work! read more

Craving an açaí bowl and this place had good reviews and was close to our condo so I thought I'd give it a try. Literally a walk up and order place with no seating so you have to take your order to go. Ordered the açaí bowl with peanut butter ($1 extra). It was tasty and included strawberries, bananas, granola, honey, hemp hearts and pb. Not the best bowl I've ever had, but very good. I'd go back next time I'm in Pacific Beach. read more

This could be the best hidden gem in all of San Diego. Hands down the best açaí bowl around. Don't get all bent out of shape (like the previous review from a typical spoiled tourist) if she has to close during business hours. The owner occasionally has to make a produce run. She does everything on her own. The locals know this. Just call ahead of time. She'll answer if she's there. She uses only fresh fruit from local farms. She also makes the granola and just started making her own peanut butter as well. Don't forget add peanut butter to your bowl. You will not be disappointed. She makes fresh juices and smoothies as well. All the highest quality. Juice wave is the best. Go there. read more

Excellent, fresh, Acai bowl. Good pour over coffee. This has become the go-to anytime we are in the area and have the time for it after they open. Only downside is they open a bit late for breakfast, and since everything is chopped fresh it can take a few minutes, but well worth the wait. read more

Meet the Business Owner: Arleigh R.

Arleigh has been working in the food industry for over 20 years. After graduating from Colorado State University, she packed up and moved to San Diego for the grand opening of Snooze, an A.M. Eatery in Hillcrest. After two years, Chef Arleigh attended the New England Culinary Institute in Montpelier, Vermont. She then worked with James Beard Award Winning Chef, Michael Tusk at his three Michelin-Star Restaurant, Quince, as well as training to be the butcher for his sister restaurant, Cotogna. Attending every farmer's market in the Bay Area to pick up the fresh and local produce for both restaurants was one of her most cherished responsibilities. WWOOF (World Wide Opportunities for Organic Farms) was the best option for her to get her hands in the dirt. Farmer Leo's at Cardiff-by-the-Sea in Encinitas was the farm where she has cultivated her culinary skills and has become most passionate about utilizing ingredients from local farms and incorporating sustainable methods.

Seating took a little while after opening, likely because they stagger new parties to avoid overwhelming the kitchen with orders all at once. There were tons of fun brunch drinks listed on a cute, record-shaped acrylic menu, although the coffee options were pretty limited. The food menu was just as fun and whimsical, and the waitstaff were all dressed to match the theme. Everyone was efficient, friendly, and helpful. We tried the soufflé pancakes, which were good, though they weren't quite as fluffy and jiggly as Japanese soufflé pancakes. They were also quite sweet on their own, so we didn't really need the syrup. We also ordered the cheese fondue plate, which came with steamed vegetables, kielbasa, and bread cubes--a really fun concept. Overall, the atmosphere is beautiful, playful, and definitely part of the experience. I'd happily come back if I'm in the area, especially if there isn't a long wait for a table.

During that time, I watched multiple people walk in, place orders after I had already checked in, and receive their food before me. The crazy part? It wasn't even busy. There was no line out the door, no rush, no obvious reason for such a ridiculous delay. After waiting long enough, I finally went up to an older gentleman working there (I'm assuming the owner) and politely explained that I had been waiting a very long time and was confused why people ordering after me were getting their food first. Instead of apologizing or even acknowledging the mistake, he was rude, dismissive, and acted like I was inconveniencing him for asking about an order that should have been ready ages ago. Then, after another 10 minutes, my bowls were finally ready. In total, I waited about 35 minutes after checking in for pickup. To top it all off, the older gentleman practically shoved the bowls at me without so much as a "sorry for the wait." Look, delays happen. Mistakes happen. What bothered me was the complete lack of communication, accountability, and basic customer service. If you're running behind, just be honest about it. Don't tell someone 10 minutes when it's really going to be over half an hour. The açaí is good, but not nearly good enough to make up for being treated like an annoyance. There are plenty of other places in San Diego serving great bowls without the attitude.
