The juice wave is something I would surely like to see in Washington DC. I mean don't get me wrong we have juice bars but it's something about the west coast fruit and vibes that make this place an instant hit.....they have a ton of smoothie or cold press juice flavors so when they offered us a sample of the vitamin key or sea....that's the one we ultimately went with....no better way to start your day then with a huge serving of natural fruit and sugars. Craving an açaí bowl and this place had good reviews and was close to our condo so I thought I'd give it a try. Literally a walk up and order place with no seating so you have to take your order to go. Ordered the açaí bowl with peanut butter ($1 extra). It was tasty and included strawberries, bananas, granola, honey, hemp hearts and pb. Not the best bowl I've ever had, but very good. I'd go back next time I'm in Pacific Beach. read more

We called in to Juice Wave after a 7-mile run on the boardwalk to make sure this place was not like Jamba Juice. She said they go to farmer's markets every day or every other day to pick up fresh, organic fruits and vegetables. Yea! So, we stopped in and ordered a smoothie and two juices. There were samples to try to get an idea of the flavors. Lots of fresh and wonderful things to add in to any drink you'd like, proteins, other raw supplements. This could be the best hidden gem in all of San Diego. Hands down the best açaí bowl around. Don't get all bent out of shape (like the previous review from a typical spoiled tourist) if she has to close during business hours. The owner occasionally has to make a produce run. She does everything on her own. The locals know this. Just call ahead of time. She'll answer if she's there. She uses only fresh fruit from local farms. She also makes the granola and just started making her own peanut butter as well. Don't forget add peanut butter to your bowl. You will not be disappointed. Heard about this place from a friend and decided to check it out based on its great reviews. Street parking only, had to loop around a couple times to find a spot but went during lunch hour. It's a small place, can only fit a couple people inside to order. You wait outside as they make your order, which was quick despite several people before us waiting. Great friendly staff, do not waste time next door at the trendy coffee shop to get Açaí... please do a favor and come here. The Açaí comes as scoops (4-5?) of sorbet (I hear whole foods now does it via sorbet), and it is to die for. I've never had it in this presentation before, it was very cold but not icy.
