    Blueberry scone

I can't believe I drive past this spot every day and have not realized until now that it's literally my dream lunch cafe. I love vegan cafes (not vegan just love lots of veggies!). I ordered the tofu poke soba noodles and oh my goodness, it was perfection. I'm also allergic to peanuts and I didn't have to worry about any peanuts in any of my food! The tofu was seasoned perfectly, I really loved the generous amount of onions in the tofu poke, as well. The dressing was delicious and every single ingredient in my plate was delicious and left me feeling healthy and satisfied. I purposefully snagged one of the easy street parking spots out front so that I could run in and check out their baked goods selection. I ordered a blueberry scone which was very yummy! The cookies look incredible and I'd love to try one next time. Their menu is a good size so I'd really love to try more options, as well. I say this but, honestly the tofu poke soba was so amazing I really don't know if I'll want anything different next time...! The cashier was super friendly and helpful, as well. I can't wait to come back soon.

EDIT: I ended up getting really awful 24 hour long food poisoning from eating here, and I called the restaurant to let them know. However, I wasn't offered a refund and only received a verbal apology. The food itself, service, and the inside seating are fantastic, and I was really excited to try this place as it's been on my list for a while and looks delicious. However, I'm not sure if I got a bad batch, but the soba noodle salad with tofu poke really upset my stomach just an hour after eating, and it has still been in pain a few hours later. I am not sure what it would be that would affect me this much, as I rarely ever get food poisoning/my stomach is not that sensitive, but next time I might try something made to order instead of being premade to avoid this happening again.

Macaroni that tastes like Thai coconut milk, I'm not supposed to eat pasta and couldn't resist this!

This is one of my favorite healthy vegan restaurants - everything you order is delicious, fresh, and made with ingredients that leaves you feeling like you made the right choice about eating habits! We often order the succulent salad which has purple sweet potatoes, broccoli, feta, on a bed of greens with delicious dressing - their coffee/lattes are also worth checking out! Also, they make an incredible chocolate cake. It was by far the best chocolate cake I've ever had in my entire life.

Not the first time but the SECOND time going and the food was so delicious. It did take roughly 10min to make (but I'm not complaining)! The portion size was perfect for my friend and I. Definitely worth going especially if you're a tourist!

OWoW! My first visit to Waialae location and it's amazing! Quaint eat in, super friendly knowledgeable staff and delicious food. Yes it's vegan but it's just plain delicious food! Tender Hirata bun followed by a succulent crunchy Korean Chick'N with wonderful vegetables and whatever galactic sauce they top it with. That was after eating the Succulent Salad of perfectly delicious greens, nuts and dried fruit with breakthrough Okinawan sweet potato goodness. Will def be a regular here! Hello new best friend

While on a run it started to rain so I stopped. While waiting for the rain to let up I realized how hungry I was. Since I was right there, I decided to go get some breakfast at Juicy Brew. I asked the girl at the counter for suggestions and she said the breakfast frittata sammie would be great! So I ordered one! And since I had to walk/run the rest of the way home now with a sandwich in tow, I asked if it could be wrapped in a way it wouldn't get too messed up. And it was wrapped beautifully! It was a run more than walking since it started raining again. The Sammie was in perfect condition when I finally got home! I cut it in half since it was such a large sandwich! The frittata/cheez combo with the flavors of caramelized onions and roasted veggies were just perfect! And the brioche bun was oh so soft and fluffy! I'm so happy it made it home safely! Thank you Juicy Brew!

VEGAN BAHN MI!!!!!!!! Left me speechless so delicious. Breakfast Frittata Sammie was so beyond yummy too, 10/10. My sister got the Tofu Salad something (sorry forgot). Zubair the actual GOAT helped us.

Their salads were just that good and it never felt like you were eating "healthy" food. We ordered the Ono Island Ahi and the Mandarin Ginger, and flavor wise the salads themselves still hold up. Portions felt fair and the prices were reasonable in my opinion. I also appreciated that it came with two pieces of pita bread. That said, the service really took away from the experience. When we ordered, the employee took our order but did not really start making the salad. His manager had to come out, at which point he jumped a bit and then started assembling the salad. He did not ask if we wanted it tossed, which they used to do, and instead just layered everything together. The biggest disappointment came when I got home and realized my Ono Island Ahi salad had no dressing at all, not on the side and not inside. That was frustrating and honestly a letdown, especially since the dressing is a big part of what makes these salads so good. The space itself looks clean and it is very convenient being inside Kahala Mall, with plenty of parking which is always a plus. Overall, the food concept is great and the salads are still tasty, but the service is lacking and needs improvement for me to fully enjoy coming back regularly.

Parking is super easy with the complimentary structure, and the café is located on the bottom floor alongside other vendors. One thing I immediately appreciated was how well air-conditioned the entire market is--it's nice and cool, which makes sitting and eating there really comfortable. The cashier recommended the turkey pesto croissant, but suggested swapping it onto ciabatta since it's one of her favorites--and I'm so glad I trusted her. It was phenomenal. The flavors were balanced, the bread held everything together perfectly, and it felt like a step above your typical sandwich. I also had what looked like a simple salad, but the vinaigrette and candied pistachios really elevated it and made it feel more thoughtful than expected. The staff across the board were friendly and welcoming, and there's plenty of seating--whether inside the café or out in the open market area. Honestly, the value surprised me the most. I paid under $13 for everything, which is hard to beat for the quality. Definitely a spot I'll be coming back to.

But it worked out because I picked up my second lunch/early dinner here, my favorite Papa tostada! Since they pack all the meals to go now, the tortilla chips are packaged separately to keep them crispy. My Mexican fam members would cringe at calling this a "tostada" but whatever it's called, it's been my go-to first choice meal here for over 20 years. The base is their veggie chili with a sprinkle of cheese, topped with their special tomato sauce, a huge mound of green leaf lettuce, chunks of tomatoes, a nest of alfalfa, sour cream, and guacamole. The chili now has a tiny kick to it, which is a recent change, which will probably appeal to most people. And it's only $9.99, what??!!! My favorite sandwiches here are the ahi or fresh turkey, tomato, and avocado sandwiches. The turkey is roasted in-house, very moist, and sprinkled with a special seasoning. The ahi is a tasty smoked ahi spread. Both sandwiches have lots of lettuce, shredded carrots, and sprouts (if you choose), so they are like salad sandwiches. They're both so good it's hard to choose one. The cash register is right next to the pastry display case, which you should not skip. Their apple and blueberry turnovers are delicious, but the guava pastry is even more so, with flaky and buttery crusts. The oatmeal cookies have raisins and chocolate chips, and taste healthier than most other places. And don't forget their fresh fruit smoothies! When I was a student and then working at UH we would eat here every week, and I really miss eating here since I work downtown now. I will definitely try to come more often, and earlier to get the best pastries! Andy and his family/staff are very friendly and always smiling. Andy figured out a long time ago how to graciously serve healthy and delicious food, and I hope they continue to do so for many years to come!

Started by award-winning chef and restauranteur Kelvin Ro in 2002, this popular restaurant is known for its "grab-and-go" market with bakery and deli; and a grill serving local-style plate lunches and burgers. It offers a mix of fresh, local Hawaiian food with casual, quick-service atmosphere, popular with locals and tourists for its fresh, reasonably priced meals and baked goods. The grab-and-go offerings include gourmet deli, house-roasted meats, entrees, salads, sandwiches, soups, and desserts. Non-food merchandise includes creative note cards and freshly made lei. (their lei appear pricy). They also collaborate with other companies to offer taro chips and ice cream. The bakery's popular items include its blueberry cream cheese scones, lemon crunch cake, and Diamond Head torte. The grill has a takeout window and offers upscale local Hawaiian fare with charbroiled and grill services. The items we've tried are: * Blueberry cream cheese scones. Best scones I've ever had! Huge, flaky, moist tender with pockets of solid cream cheese and juicy blueberries make this a popular item! * Lemon crunch cake. The original layered lemon cream cake with toffee bits, with the rumor being a former employee used the same or similar recipe at Aiea Bowl. I still say that this cake at Diamond Head Bakery has more whipped cream, lemon cream, and toffee bits than at Aiea Bowl. * Teri chicken plate. Marinated chicken thighs and glazed with a sweetened Japanese style teri sauce and served with white or brown rice. Nice teri flavor enjoyed by locals, although not too familiar with visitors. Will try the char siu chicken sandwich or chicken plate next time, as it is not normally offered by plate lunch places. Both the grab-n-go and grill sections get busy with customers, and staff are knowledgeable about their items to answer questions produce efficient and quick service. Many appear to be long-time staff. No fancy ambiance, as space is used to display their merchandise for fast turnover. Owner Kelvin Ro has supported the University of HI's Culinary Institute of the Pacific at Diamond Head through monetary pledges in providing training to students in culinary arts. Hours of operation are 7:30a to 8p daily; award-winning breakfast items made to order (pancakes, fluffy omelets, roasted pork hash, loco moco) every Sat/Sun from 7:30a to 10:30a. I've been a customer for years, so this wasn't just a one-off first impression. The quality seems to have changed dramatically, and it's frustrating to pay premium prices for something that barely resembles an açaí bowl.
