    Blueberry scone

I can't believe I drive past this spot every day and have not realized until now that it's literally my dream lunch cafe. I love vegan cafes (not vegan just love lots of veggies!). I ordered the tofu poke soba noodles and oh my goodness, it was perfection. I'm also allergic to peanuts and I didn't have to worry about any peanuts in any of my food! The tofu was seasoned perfectly, I really loved the generous amount of onions in the tofu poke, as well. The dressing was delicious and every single ingredient in my plate was delicious and left me feeling healthy and satisfied. I purposefully snagged one of the easy street parking spots out front so that I could run in and check out their baked goods selection. I ordered a blueberry scone which was very yummy! The cookies look incredible and I'd love to try one next time. Their menu is a good size so I'd really love to try more options, as well. I say this but, honestly the tofu poke soba was so amazing I really don't know if I'll want anything different next time...! The cashier was super friendly and helpful, as well. I can't wait to come back soon.

EDIT: I ended up getting really awful 24 hour long food poisoning from eating here, and I called the restaurant to let them know. However, I wasn't offered a refund and only received a verbal apology. The food itself, service, and the inside seating are fantastic, and I was really excited to try this place as it's been on my list for a while and looks delicious. However, I'm not sure if I got a bad batch, but the soba noodle salad with tofu poke really upset my stomach just an hour after eating, and it has still been in pain a few hours later. I am not sure what it would be that would affect me this much, as I rarely ever get food poisoning/my stomach is not that sensitive, but next time I might try something made to order instead of being premade to avoid this happening again.

Macaroni that tastes like Thai coconut milk, I'm not supposed to eat pasta and couldn't resist this!

This is one of my favorite healthy vegan restaurants - everything you order is delicious, fresh, and made with ingredients that leaves you feeling like you made the right choice about eating habits! We often order the succulent salad which has purple sweet potatoes, broccoli, feta, on a bed of greens with delicious dressing - their coffee/lattes are also worth checking out! Also, they make an incredible chocolate cake. It was by far the best chocolate cake I've ever had in my entire life.

Not the first time but the SECOND time going and the food was so delicious. It did take roughly 10min to make (but I'm not complaining)! The portion size was perfect for my friend and I. Definitely worth going especially if you're a tourist!

OWoW! My first visit to Waialae location and it's amazing! Quaint eat in, super friendly knowledgeable staff and delicious food. Yes it's vegan but it's just plain delicious food! Tender Hirata bun followed by a succulent crunchy Korean Chick'N with wonderful vegetables and whatever galactic sauce they top it with. That was after eating the Succulent Salad of perfectly delicious greens, nuts and dried fruit with breakthrough Okinawan sweet potato goodness. Will def be a regular here! Hello new best friend

While on a run it started to rain so I stopped. While waiting for the rain to let up I realized how hungry I was. Since I was right there, I decided to go get some breakfast at Juicy Brew. I asked the girl at the counter for suggestions and she said the breakfast frittata sammie would be great! So I ordered one! And since I had to walk/run the rest of the way home now with a sandwich in tow, I asked if it could be wrapped in a way it wouldn't get too messed up. And it was wrapped beautifully! It was a run more than walking since it started raining again. The Sammie was in perfect condition when I finally got home! I cut it in half since it was such a large sandwich! The frittata/cheez combo with the flavors of caramelized onions and roasted veggies were just perfect! And the brioche bun was oh so soft and fluffy! I'm so happy it made it home safely! Thank you Juicy Brew!

VEGAN BAHN MI!!!!!!!! Left me speechless so delicious. Breakfast Frittata Sammie was so beyond yummy too, 10/10. My sister got the Tofu Salad something (sorry forgot). Zubair the actual GOAT helped us.

We got multiple things and everyone was very pleased with their dish. My daughter absolutely loved her fish and eggs. My koko moco was so amazing. You're doing too much…read more We were excited to try this spot, especially knowing the owner competed on Top Chef, but unfortunately almost every dish felt overcomplicated. Sometimes less really is more, and in this case, the fusion and number of competing flavors seemed to overtake the dishes themselves. We ordered the Volcano Eggs, Chicken & Eggs, and Ricotta Pancakes so we could try a little of everything. The chicken itself was good, and so were the pickled onions, but the Chicken & Eggs as a complete dish just didn't work for us. There was so much happening on the plate that the individual components seemed to fight each other rather than come together. The Volcano Eggs had a similar issue; lots of bold flavors, but they didn't blend particularly well. The ricotta pancakes probably had the most potential. The pancakes themselves were delicious and, with real butter and maybe a light jam, could have been amazing. Instead, they were buried under a complicated sauce that overpowered them. I kept thinking: just let the food shine! A couple of other things took away from the experience. Each time the kitchen staff received a tip, there was loud yelling/celebrating from the kitchen. It happened about four times during our brunch and became excessive and disruptive. The suggested gratuity also starts at 19%, which felt a little off-putting given the already higher price point. Our waiter was very nice and provided good service. Just be aware that dining times seem to be fairly strict , once your allotted time is up, you definitely get the feeling that it's time to go. There are some genuinely good components here, and clearly a lot of creativity and thought goes into the menu. For us, though, simplifying the dishes and letting the quality ingredients speak for themselves would make a huge difference.

However, they didn't communicate with their barista, so they made me a hot latte. I told the barista and they rolled their eyes and sighed at the mistake (directed at their coworker who messed up- not me) and they did remake it. Then I went in with my mom and she asked if she could please have a corner piece of the pastry we got. Barista said "of course," but didn't communicate to their coworker and they gave us a middle piece. Annoying but whatever, but on the same trip I ordered the same iced earl grey latte I always get and I saw they put in "earl grey tea" on the POS machine and I told her about the error and it was supposed to be the latte not the tea. She said there wasn't a button for it and they would make the latte. However, after waiting a few minutes, they left the store and the coworker took over and they told me they were working on my order, but they were in the back for some reason (espresso machine is in the front- but maybe they had one in the back too?) but they came out with a hot for here drink and I told them it was supposed to be Togo and iced. They came back and then I realized the reason it took 10 minutes waiting is because they made me fresh hot tea. After waiting about 15 min three in total I decided to accept the defeat and not say anything. Weeks before this, I got a bagel with cream cheese and I should've checked before I left but they didn't give me cream cheese. So I paid $4 for toasted bread. Every time I come in, whoever I'm with and I are so baffled by the service and what we get. It seems like the staff never communicate with each other and even when you do communicate with the staff, it doesn't pay off. I've had a couple times where I go to order or ask the staff something but they are on FaceTime chatting and it feels like I'm interrupting. To be fair, it's my fault for going so many times but I like to support local, didn't want to write them off for a little mistake (but its just consistent now), and I love their lattes when they do make it correctly, but I guess I'm just going to learn how to make an Earl Grey latte at home from now and I hope I can make it close to how much I loved theirs.

Kyoto Style Cold Brew. That's all needs to be said…read more My first introduction to Aloha Bakehouse & Cafe was at the Made in Hawaii Festival where I sampled its amazing tasting coffee. Found out that there are three locations in Kaka'ako, Downtown, and this one in Kaimuki. It's located at the corner of Waialae and 8th Avenue, across from The Curb and Kaimuki Auto Repair. Only metered parking along Waialae or street parking on the perpendicular streets. Inside was spacious and had an industrial feel with its concrete floor, metal chairs, metal racks, and with actual renovations in process in the rear of the space. Menu is floor level (sorry tall people!). There's a variety of coffee, tea, lemonade, blended drinks, smoothies, sandwiches, salads, its special Aloha Bread, and etc. There's a lot to read! There are multiple choices of bread for sandwiches (special bread shown next to the register. Be sure to check!). Needless to say, I took a long time to decide! The Breakfast Sandwich came with egg, bacon, ham, and American cheese. Chose the croissant, which was the smaller size variety. This was good with a generous amount of egg and bacon. It was a hearty sandwich. The Tuna Sandwich on Everything Bagel was good. Nice crisp on the bagel. A decent simple sandwich with fresh ingredients. I would have preferred more mayo and the canned tuna to have flavor. Regular brewed coffee was very good. Brewed very well with solid coffee flavor. Exactly the flavor I remembered when I first tried it. The star was the Kyoto Style Cold Brew. It was smooth, clean, bright, and strong. The flavor maintained throughout--even with the ice cubes melted in. Overall, a decent experience. The sandwiches were good. Coffee was excellent. Friendly service. Can't wait to come back to try more things and get more Kyoto style cold brew!
