So here's my problem, I am a spoiled little brat that is obsessed with the Halal platters from NYC. So of course that is what I am comparing this place to. I must say, the location is great- I enjoyed stopping in here after getting my nails done right next door. The girl who served me was very nice, and the service was quick. I wound up ordering the beef and chicken combo platter to go and I wound up smothering it up in white sauce like I always do. When I got home, the food was still nice and hot. But it didn't really satisfy my Halal craving. I found the beef to be completely over cooked and the chicken could have used a little more flavor. Excellent! Very tasty chicken/beef mix on a pita. The girl behind the counter asked if it was my first visit. When I said yes she whipped up a sample of their chopped meats with sauce and spices and it was great. The manager also suggested that I try a sample wing too. Really crispy and flavorful - naked no sauce. Probably awesome once you add one of their many types of sauces. Place is bright, airy, clean, fast service - just terrific! The Hackensack location didn't disappoint. My boyfriend and I usually order from their Fair Lawn location and were hesitant to try this one but it was very good. We both ordered the platter bowls on salad and it was the perfect portion. The lettuce was fresh and there were the perfect amount of falafel. Hands down one of the best Halal places! Not only is the food always consistent, but it's also the staff. They are always so happy, willing to help, and always with a smile. One of the best HALAL plates that I have ever had. The food is ridiculously good. Well seasoned and flavorful. I always stop by when I am in Jersey even if I do not eat it that day I will eat it the next day. I normally order the platter with the chicken and beef mix. I always order the (game changer) the green blast. It gives you that Herbaceous, fresh tasting, bitter notes that you will need to balance out the salty, sweet and savory, depending on what you had to your platter. I add cheese. I am not a fan of raisins so it is great that you can get the carrots without the raisins. Depending on when it is going to be eaten I opt in for the guacomole. Everything is fresh and made to order. When ordering the wings just know that they are cooked to order. If you are adventourous you may want to try the hottestest wings that they offer with the hot AF sauce. Be warned it is not a wing to me messed with. If you are not ready it can wreck you. On to the sauces. They offer two side sauces of note, one is there white sauce It is freaking delicious and you can put it on anything and make it delicious. It actually has a tang similar to fresh yougurt, It hist the spot everytime. They also have a hot sauce. The hot sauce is deciently hot nothing compared to the wings Spicy AF sauce but definitely gives you a nice jolt to you platter or wrap. You can but both sauces in there large sizes at the counter. On to the location. It is very clean and has a Chipotle style and feel to it. Nothing specatcular I have reccommended this place to numerous friend and they have never been dissappointed. P.S. This location is excellent. The customer service is top notch. I was undecided and curious about the wings so the girl gave me one to sample. Smart business practice. If she didn't give that free wing I wouldn't have bought 10 wings I just would have got my daughter what she wanted. Tony is great and a fun guy to talk to. First and foremost.. Juicy Platters is greater than Halal Guys. Hands down! Platters got the seasonings that halal guys don't. However I am not a fan of their new plates, they're these bowls made of recycled paper products or something that DONT HOLD AS MUCH FOOD AS THEY USED TO. Us arabs like to eat! At around 11:30pm last night I had one of those rare occurrences where I realized I hadn't eaten. There aren't many places aside from fast food(which by the way is a hard NO, for me) that are available...so I stumbled upon Juicy Platters with 30 min left until closing. Luckily I am 8 min away (so I'm shocked I never heard of them) and was able to make it went time to spare. I ordered the chicken/greens platter to share and used my free YELP soda voucher. Service was great! And I was in and out under 5 minutes. Once I got I dove right in and it did not disappoint. Tasty, the right amount of spices and filling (see pic). Dropped by Juicy Halal for a quick craving fix and they definitely satisfied it. I ordered the mixed platter (chicken and beef gyro) which comes with salad, rice, sauteed onions, and a pita for a total of around 9 bucks. Sweet and simple, although they do have quite a few other options and add-ons. They had my order ready for me even before I finished paying! To-go sauce cups and the red sauce are available by the cashier, extra to-go sauce cups and the white sauce are available to the right by the drinks machine. I think I eat a little less than the average person, so the platter was more than enough for me and I still have enough left over for a midday snack. The customer service is through the roof -AMAZING! Everyone is extremely helpful and patient and kind! The restaurant is always busy HOWEVER it is extremely clean & very organized! First time today. It does the job like it should The chicken platter was spot on. The beef was ok, but I doubt it is freshly made. It has that frozen texture like you would get when you order a gyro at a pizza parlor. Def stick with the chicken. The 2 counter girls were very friendly and helpful with questions. First review of 2016! Juicy platters, I'm glad you opened up a new location much closer to me. I've been to the other location in Fair Lawn with some frequency, when I'm in the mood for Halal food. However, this location is closer, bigger, and easier to get to. Its very close to rt. 80 and rt. 17 in Hackensack. The store is bright and clean, with its metal tables. As you walk in, you can see the menu and the soda machine to the right. I get my usual chicken and rice. The hot sauce is near the pickup area and the white sauce is in the fridge next to the soda machine. Same taste as the Fair Lawn location. Pretty good (I think its growing on me), but not anything outstanding. Its not quite as good as the Halal carts in NYC, but there's no toll or travel to get to it, for last minute cravings. One thing to mention. There is a free soda with the purchase of a platter with the Yelp check-in, if you ask the cashier. (Same as Fair Lawn) Note to Juicy Platters: it would be great, if you can include this info on the yelp restaurant page. Thanks. read more

I heart Juicy Platters. Simply stated I've been hooked for quite some time. So here goes my review... There have been so many Hollywood sequels recently sometimes I can't even stand to go watch a movie anymore. Many times the sequels are a complete bomb but others live up to the franchise. Take for example the Fast and Furious movies. There are good ones in the series and then there's Tokyo Drift. Seriously I don't even want to start. Now why am I beginning this review mentioning movies and sequels? Well because sometimes art imitates life and other times life imitates art. I'm talking about Juicy Platters' sequel--their new location in Hackensack. When I first heard about a possible second location opening up I knew that it would undoubtedly be as successful as the original one. How do I know this? Because I've had my fill of JP for the longest time. From their humble beginnings as a hole-in-the-wall in Fair Lawn to the bigger place they moved to one block away, they have always put out amazing food every time. I said in my review of the original location that it's about time Jersey has a place to rival the one in the city, well guess what now there's two places that can take the Halal guys on. I have a feeling this will not be the only other Platters, rather a start of a possible franchise in the future. Who knows, but what I do know is that it will have the same great food comin right out of the kitchen every time! So I say to Yelp users around North Jersey. If you're cravin delicious food make your way to this new location. Show some love to Juicy Platters. Sit down in their comfortable and large restaurant. Bring your whole family for a great time. But most importantly savor each bite of that chicken or mixed platter that lay before you, and drench it in the amazing white sauce, BBQ sauce, and hot sauce combo for a taste that will linger with you for some time. There is nothing I love more than having one of my favorite spots rite near my best friends house! I have been eating at juicy platters for quite some time now and I have watched their locations grow and develop. From the little hole in the wall in Fair Lawn to the actual storefront that I frequent the most and now Hackensack! I came to this location the other night to pick up 3 platters for me and two friends. The store was empty which I was kind of shocked to see on a Friday night but hey I figured good for me, no wait time and hot fresh food as always. I ordered my usual gyro platter with onions and no salad and an order of falafel for an app. Everything was really fresh and my falafel were so good and crisp! The rice seemed to be a little different to me and like others have said in little clumps but that didn't bother me at all, the flavors were still there. The location itself is very large and spacious with ample seating. The staff here is always friendly and helpful They have the coca cola machine that offers so many options to mix and match different flavor just like their other location. Still pour your own white sauce, bbq sauce and hot sauce which is nice because you can have all you want and I love their white sauce. I really look forward to seeing more and more juicy platter locations pop up and watching them expand while enjoying platter after platter. Keep up the good work guys! read more
