I heart Juicy Platters. Simply stated I've been hooked for quite some time. So here goes my review... There have been so many Hollywood sequels recently sometimes I can't even stand to go watch a movie anymore. Many times the sequels are a complete bomb but others live up to the franchise. Take for example the Fast and Furious movies. There are good ones in the series and then there's Tokyo Drift. Seriously I don't even want to start. Now why am I beginning this review mentioning movies and sequels? Well because sometimes art imitates life and other times life imitates art. I'm talking about Juicy Platters' sequel--their new location in Hackensack. When I first heard about a possible second location opening up I knew that it would undoubtedly be as successful as the original one. How do I know this? Because I've had my fill of JP for the longest time. From their humble beginnings as a hole-in-the-wall in Fair Lawn to the bigger place they moved to one block away, they have always put out amazing food every time. I said in my review of the original location that it's about time Jersey has a place to rival the one in the city, well guess what now there's two places that can take the Halal guys on. I have a feeling this will not be the only other Platters, rather a start of a possible franchise in the future. Who knows, but what I do know is that it will have the same great food comin right out of the kitchen every time! So I say to Yelp users around North Jersey. If you're cravin delicious food make your way to this new location. Show some love to Juicy Platters. Sit down in their comfortable and large restaurant. Bring your whole family for a great time. But most importantly savor each bite of that chicken or mixed platter that lay before you, and drench it in the amazing white sauce, BBQ sauce, and hot sauce combo for a taste that will linger with you for some time. Also don't forget about the other items on the menu. Give them a try or better yet try all of them! You will not be disappointed. There is nothing I love more than having one of my favorite spots rite near my best friends house! I have been eating at juicy platters for quite some time now and I have watched their locations grow and develop. From the little hole in the wall in Fair Lawn to the actual storefront that I frequent the most and now Hackensack! I came to this location the other night to pick up 3 platters for me and two friends. The store was empty which I was kind of shocked to see on a Friday night but hey I figured good for me, no wait time and hot fresh food as always. I ordered my usual gyro platter with onions and no salad and an order of falafel for an app. Everything was really fresh and my falafel were so good and crisp! The rice seemed to be a little different to me and like others have said in little clumps but that didn't bother me at all, the flavors were still there. The location itself is very large and spacious with ample seating. The staff here is always friendly and helpful They have the coca cola machine that offers so many options to mix and match different flavor just like their other location. Still pour your own white sauce, bbq sauce and hot sauce which is nice because you can have all you want and I love their white sauce. I really look forward to seeing more and more juicy platter locations pop up and watching them expand while enjoying platter after platter. Keep up the good work guys! read more

After working in Hackensack for years, this is the one place I consistently go for lunch. It's always delicious. Very filling (I always need some recovery time after). Great vegan options. The chicken and gyro are also good options. Don't skimp on the white and red sauce. The red sauce can be spicy. One time it somehow flew off my food and into my eye. That was a nightmare. This is a nice halal fast food place like any other halal however, the difference is they allow you to drizzle and keep the sauce bottle in your table. This is a game changer to other halal joints that makes the customer control the amount of sauce and type of sauce they want, which should be the case because everyone has different taste buds. Although the fried chicken is a bit dry on my palate unlike the Korean Bonchon chicken that is juicy although you may sacrifice few more minutes to wait but all worth it, maybe they can reconsider cooking it fresh someday! read more

There's no need for Bridge and Tunnel to travel into NYC for some Halal Guys. The new cool thing is to barely travel and find some delicious Halal food close by. After a day at work, I searched "healthy food" and this juicy spot came up. Note that my chicken and rice platter wasn't actually juicy per se, but a little added juice (or sauce) brought it there. It's worth noting that the platter would have been tasty with or without these magical sauces. It was nice to order off the simple menu here. With just a few choices (though there are tons of extras you could add), it was easy to order. I went with chicken and rice for many reasons, but most of all because I know a good chicken and rice when I taste it. This definitely tasted healthier than Halal Guys, and in my opinion better as well. It didn't hurt my stomach at all. I found it a little weird that the onions were separate from the chicken and rice. They were placed in their own portion of the container, all nice and sauteed. I mixed them in and they were fantastic. The chicken was flavorful and clearly good quality. I can't review this place without mentioning the sauces. First, I loved the way the sauces were served. Instead of having to place the sauce all over the platter right away, Juicy Platters has little to go containers for them. I went ahead and loaded up a few containers so I could experiment with the quantity. I personally prefer a small amount of hot sauce to a large amount of white sauce. Not knowing this sauce, I started with a little red and about four times that in white. I slowly added more until I created the perfect juicy platter. This dish brought me back to my days as a NYC resident picking up random chicken and rice platters. The ordering experience however did not. Granted the price was higher here than at the little carts. Not only are these guys maintaining a store front, but the place sparkles. Best of all, after they took my name for the order, the employee even used it when saying thank you! With the level of personalization here, I almost thought I was at a Ritz Carleton. When you're at Juicy Platters, you're family. Come hungry and leave happy. read more

I was excited to finally try this place out but it fell short for me and maybe it's just my tastebuds but I just felt like the chicken and rice were overly seasoned. I'm more of a plain jane I guess. Yum yum yummmmmm! This place pretty much has the same concept as Halal Guys, but is a bit more modern ish than the halal guys stores. And if you don't know about halal guys, it's a "chipotle style" place for gyro meat/chicken/falafel either as a wrap, salad, platter etc. Prices are also comparable to chipotle (averaging about 7-8$). I got the chicken and beef gyro combination as a wrap. Meats were great, and the bread was delicious. Obviiiii, don't forget to use their white sauce. I love this place the food is wholesome fresh the menu is very brief but everything is tasty and fresh better to have a small menu and good food than a giant one with crappy stuff. The green blast and rice is perfect for whatever toppings you want. The wraps are large and filling if you like wraps but I'm always a platter guy. The staff is well trained and accommodate you without an attitude. Thumbs up for the owner and the people that work to make it happen don't forget if the staff don't show up there's no food. This restaurant was a genius idea. You no longer have to be drunk in NYC at 3 am to enjoy some delicious halal. I came here for the first time a few days ago and I was really impressed. The place is clean, neat, organized, and the staff is very friendly and helpful. I also love their fountain soda machine that lets you have just about anything you could possibly dream of to drink. I got a chicken platter with Rice and salad and I added avocado and the green mix. The green mix (broccoli, spinach and kale in olive oil) was good, but I wouldn't get it again because the rest of the dish was so good on its own. We came for lunch on a Sunday, not as crowded (which was good). we got the mixed platter. The flavors were pretty good, although we wished they were not as skimpy with the meat. The food was incredible of course.. I had a platter with chicken, falafel, and carrots.. great flavor, super fresh.. but the employees were a little rude. The woman who rang up my order was short with me and just 0% friendly. Then when i was waiting an employee was restocking sauce bottles in the little fridge on the counter by the soda machines and like shuffled around me almost bumping into me, no excuse me. I've been here plenty of times, because it's my go to when I'm on the go! Online ordering can't get any easier-simple and fast. I'm only giving two stars due to my in store experience. After placing my order online I head to the store for pick up. As I approached the designated area for pick up, I observed that there were about six orders awaiting pick up and there is a young lady who seems to be handling the flow of orders in this particular area. I waited 8 mins with no acknowledgment. After 8 minutes of watching her carry on conversations with her fellow coworkers - I also observed 3 male customers come in after me and walk up to the counter where I was standing and was acknowledged by the same worker who ignored me. I decided to get on the line where you place your order to ensure that they were aware that I had been waiting. The young lady- Amalfi, had to stop doing her job and leave the counter to walk over and make sure that I received my order, while the other worker just watched. I understand that we are busy at times, but ensuring the retention of the customer is key! Unfortunately , I will not be returning to this location due to the lack of customer service provided during this particular visit. A very good place to get platters if you don't feel like driving too far or going into the city. While note quite as good as the best platters I've had, the place does let you customize your order more than most other similar places I've been to. The gyro or mixed option with the green blast are my go to orders. The rice here can be improved in my opinion as it brings the platters down a notch. This place is not how it use to be, the food is horrible. As a regular customer this is the worst order I've ever received. I ordered a chicken platter on 6/4 Saturday afternoon and took it home. When I began to eat the chicken was so dry and burnt you could taste it even with the sauce, the rice was old probably about 3 days old from the texture. I'm not sure about this place anymore and I wouldn't recommend. Also, anytime you go there, they hire different people and I assume it's under different management as well. Although it is much more spacious then the Elmwood park location it definitely takes a lot longer to get your food at this location. The food as always is great here and I love their mild wings. My boyfriend gets the chicken platter and we have never had a bad experience with the food! Okay so I grew up on the halal guys (platters, chicken and rice, the spot) no matter what you called it i always found myself going with a group of friends to the spot on 53 and 6. Then that changed once juicy platters opened up and brought the concept to jersey and made it their own. Yes both places taste different And they are. Juicy had a different sauce different additions to the meal and tase a bit fresher. I found a new place now and they have a pretty sweet rewards system too. I always go with the mix which has gyro and chicken. The gyro is a beef mix and has very good flavor. The caramelized onions again are different than the halal guys which takes this to the next level. The service is quick and the place is very clean. The staff is super quick and very much helpful. The price is also good too around 8 dollars for a platter. Last but not least try the wings and add some Color (their version of additions like spinach avocado and such) to The meal.
