Absolutely fire doner kebabs. Best I've had in the area! Came here last year when stopped by the mall and it really hit the spot. So naturally, had to check it out again this time and try it again. I don't know what it is, but well seasoned meat with their crispy fries just works. The original German doner kebab with the mixed beef and chicken was incredible. It was juicy, perfectly seasoned meat with that signature vertical spit char, loaded into their soft, flavorful handmade waffle-style bread. Every bite was a hit. Also ordered the chicken doner box with fries. The fries were very crispy and seasoned well and the chicken was just as I remembered it. A flavor bonanza. Rich, aromatic, and very delicious What was really the highlight was the sauces though. The garlic sauce was creamy and addictive, and the spicy one had just the right kick without overpowering everything. Portions are solid for the price. Everything felt fresh and hot, and the staff was super friendly and quick even during a busy mall rush. If you're at the American Dream or craving quality halal doner, this is the move. I was extremely excited to receive my first order ordered your original German doner, kebab quite frankly, the bread was as hard as a roofing shingle impossible to bite into looks great with that waffle crust, but actually very dangerous for your teeth. Additionally, the fill was so mushy it was hard to discern the difference between the ingredients. It was one pile of slop your fries again look good. They were colder than my popsicles and tasteless. My overall experience a zero and I'm very disappointed. one would figure an international chain would have more control over their quality control. Located in the American Dream Mall, German Doner Kebab is a causal halal doner kebab eatery. There are plenty of seats. Food is good. I enjoyed the original doner kebab. The bread is nice and chewy. The rice bowl is a bit small and boring. There isn't much meat. Stick with the original for a satisfying bite. read more

It was early Today evening so fairly quiet at American Dream. We wanted a mix of meat and greens and decided to stop by here. Is a simple decorated place with menu and drawing with description of the meals. We were able to quickly get online and decided on two orders I'd the doner gym box. Wanted a little carbs, we added fries for additional 50 cents. One with beef and one with combo (chicken & beef). Once ordered we picked a table and wait for them to bring our food. It came with three sauces. The food came hot and the fries were crispy. It was a good balance of warmth and crisp from the salad. For me I felt I received more fries then salad sans so it was a little more greasy then anticipated. Next time I'll stick to just chicken doner, and order a side of fries instead. We were at the American Dream mall and wanted to try something different. My husband suggested this place. It looked like a typical fast food place with some booth seating and bar stools along tall narrow tables. The name with kebab we had expected meat skewers but it was more like the meat was cooked on a vertical rotisserie and meat was shaved off of it. (Think shawarma) We ordered the Doner rice bowl and the Doner box with cheese. We were give a buzzer and when the food was ready a server walked over with our food and retrieved the buzzer. My husband's rice bowl was ok. He didn't hate it but it didn't wow him either. I liked my box but to be honest the meat I got (beef and chicken) were tasteless and needed the cheese sauce and jalapeños. The fries were good. Since I was in AD on a weekday evening, decided to stop by Doner to get dinner to go. When I came to the store, it was empty, no customers. But all the sitting areas, tables were very clean. I've been wanting to give this place a try since it opened however I have not wanted to go near this nightmare of a place. I did go when I had a day off to grab this for lunch unfortunately it took more than 15 minutes so you are forced to pay five dollars plus tax for parking I ordered the original kebab mixed with chicken and beef and was shocked at how large this sandwich was. The slices of meat were almost thinner than paper and super flavorful along with the amazing sauces it made for a fantastic meal without having to eat any sides. delish! hot and fresh, we grabbed a quick bite here for lunch after seeing the aquarium. there was a short line for lunchtime so we had to wait to order, but our food came out quickly. the curry rice is to die for and i loved the crispy chicken bits in the chicken kebab. the bread on the original kebab is super tasty as well. we loved all of the dipping sauces (try them all). the beef was just okay, my husband liked it but i thought the chicken was way better. even tho i loved the sandwich, the rice bowl knocked it out of the park. especially at the end when you can mix all the crunchy lettuce, savory rice, chicken bits, and white sauce together! there are no highchairs available so parents may find it tricky to eat with little ones. the dining space inside isnt bad but my recommendation is get the food to go and eat it in the L2 food hall area. they sell honest juice boxes too which is very nice for kids. servers were super nice, overall a great food option at the mall! read more

Nestled away in the depths of the American Dream Mall is this unique restaurant. I was recommended to try it so I did. The meat on the spit looked great and the description of the doner box sounded great as well. I got the box with chicken, fries, cheese and jalapeños. I got it to go. The lady at the front seemed a little annoyed and forgot to add a fork and any sauces. I should have looked in the bag before heading out. I feel like the chicken was well spiced but a little dry. The beef empanada was a letdown it tasted more like a not-so-great calzone. On the bright side, the original kebab with chicken and beef was a pleasant surprise. The sandwich was huge, the meat sliced super thin but packed with flavor, and the sauces really pulled everything together. Honestly, it was filling enough on its own without needing sides. The service felt like a fastfood spot quick, but nothing personable and the ambiance wasn't anything special either. Overall, a mixed bag: some overpriced and underwhelming items, but also one of the best kebabs I've had in a while. Love to get the plate here after walking around the mall! Portions are not that big, it's kind of expensive, and the store itself has a weird cramped layout (not great for strollers, get it to-go and eat in the food court across the way), but food is good and I love that it comes with veggies. First visit to American Dream in NJ, we were there late and looking for a place that was still open. We came across this restaurant and decided to try it. It is one of the few places that is Halal. We ordered a panini and a bowl. The panini was delicious. The bowl was good, portions seemed a little small. You place the order, given a pager and place the pager on the spot on the table. We waited at least 15 minutes to the point we were wondering are we supposed to get up and pick up our food? It finally arrived. There is booth, table and low community table seating. Came as part of my 30 city 26 day food trip. Let me start by saying the counter service was fantastic! Very polite and welcoming. Super excited to try their signature "Authentic gyro meat and chicken with lettuce and juicy tomatoes. Onion and red cabbage. The cashier was less than thrilled to be working on a busy Saturday afternoon. When asked, They didn't explain what the specifics of the veggie sandwich was other than it being a black bean patty. They only have vegetarian options not vegan so the veggie sandwich would have to be dry if one was vegan. I wasn't the vegan one in the group so I chose to have the Original doner kebab sandwich with chicken. It was a large sandwich on thin pita like bread with a ton of chicken, lettuce, tomato, onions and garlic sauce. It was not bad, but not great either. Without the garlic sauce the chicken would be pretty bland. The sandwich was pretty big however for the price. Also got the curry fries which were good. It had a spicy curry seasoning on the fries. The fries came in one of those pockets like at fast food restaurants which doesn't travel well so my fries were all over the bottom of the bag. For what used to be my favorite spot in the American Dream mall, I am disappointed with recent changes at GDK. I always get an original kebab with chicken and the flaming fries. While the kebab used to have a thick waffle bread, they swapped it for a cheaper, thin bread that falls apart while you're eating. It's very inconvenient and just doesn't taste as good. While the ingredients inside were still decent and the meat was delicious, portion sizes also seemingly got a bit smaller. On top of that, I noticed the packaging they use is now cheaper. While packaging isn't everything, it was nice having sturdy packaging to bring takeout home, and it added to a more "luxury" feel. I find that the interior of GDK has a unique vibe with their orange and black color scheme, elevating the experience. It sometimes feels cramped when the mall is busy. In terms of service, it can be mixed depending on the day. Online orders can take a long time, though I have had some pleasant experiences with staff. Overall, I have mixed feelings and would be more inclined to come back if they switched back their bread. read more

Can ask for little tubs of sauce, choices seemed to be ranch, ketchup mixed w Tabasco, and some flavored mayo. all kind of so-so. But the Doner itself didnt need any additional sauce. There were two items that we got one was the box, which had fries and a mixture of meat (chicken & lamb) and jalapeños. The other one was the original, where it was a mixture of meat too. I was starving & I stumbled upon this place at American Dream mall. There was quite a few people in line but the service was quick. I ordered the original German Doner Kebab. I could have definitely ate it without the beef. The beef was thinly sliced & dry for my liking. For the spicy fries and the jalapeño poppers there was no heat to them but they did taste better once dipped in the spicy dip that they offer. At first, I had no clue they offered dips until I saw a few customers going back for them at the counter. Split a doner box with fries and grilled cheese with my daughter. The doner box is amazing, we got the beef which is shaved off this giant slab of meat in the back. The spices were on point and actually had a sausage like taste to it which we both loved. Fries cooked and seasoned perfect. Now the grilled cheese is a little odd. It's like a pita type bread with looked like sesame seeds on it and the cheese was a type of cheese I never tasted. I'm guessing a German style which did not belong on a grilled cheese. After that we wished we tried the chicken doner box instead but I thought we couldn't go wrong with a grilled cheese. Pretty good food and average pricing. It was hard to find at first because the food hall is so spread out! The kebabs are tasty and they have some nice options. The yogurt drink is delicious. Very pleasant experience! I recommend if you're hungry and want a filling but quicker meal. read more

There's Dine in or Takeout. Counter ordering is here. We decided on Takeout. Ordered the Doner Durum Wrap $10.99 and K CAL Kebab $10.99. The K CAL had wheat bread, cabbage, beef and chicken. You do have the option of just ordering one meat. The sandwiches are loaded with meat. You can make two meals out of one sandwich! Both sandwiches were delicious!!!! Three types of sauces were given. Two had dill and the third was spicy. Each sauce was delicious on the sandwiches. Boylan's soda is available here. Customer service is very good here. The restaurant is very clean. It's no value menu at the Mcdonalds. Closer to Shake Shack but throw in $1 or $2 more cause they different! Got the German Doner Kebab and the bowl. If you're gonna try it out. I would go for the Doner Kebab that's folded in the bread they made. The bowl is not worth it imo. Definitely overprice for the value you're getting. My husband went to a location in Houston, TX and said it was great. We were going to NJ for concert and decided to swing by this place for lunch. We couldn't find it at first, because he did not realize was in the MetLife Stadium. Once we figured that out, it was on. You do have to pay for parking, but it was only $5 (or something very close). Like I said it was in The MetLife stadium. It was a mini mall with several food options, but we were here for the GDK! We found it. We both ordered the original mixed. Honestly, I did not look at the menu and went off the recommendation of my husband, and I wasn't disappointed. Seriously, we could have split the sandwich and it would have been enough, but I ate my whole sandwich and was stuffed. They had, meat, slaw and sauces in a unique type of flat bread. It was DELICIOUS! Next time we go I will look at other items and pay more attention, but I am glad I went with my husband's recommendation. We split a side of cheese fries, next time the cheese sauce will be a pass for me, since it was just OK. The place was clean, the staff was friendly, the food was out quickly. This is basically what I would call fast food, but it did not taste like it. Priced right with great portions. I was invited to taste and take pictures of the food at this restaurant (as an instagram foodie) and I tried many items on their menu: The Original German Doner Kebab Doner Durum Wrap Flaming Fries Doner Box with Fries Chilli Cheese Bites Doner Spring Rolls The meat and bread is imported from Germany which definitely explains why the taste is so exquisite! I also really appreciated the amount of meat packed into one entree; I could honesty make two meals from it. And out of all their sides, I loved the flaming fries the most! The waffle-like-bread was definitely unique but I would have preferred if it was toasted more and/or less chewy.
