We've been taking our various pets to Jules since 2009 and we've never had an issue. We are always able to get in for an appt when needed. During after hours, we have had to take our cat to a Vet Hospital in Dublin for an emergency but that's to be expected as Jules is not 24 hour. One of our cats became very ill and Jules helped treat and care but the condition was too far gone. Jules helped us make our cat comfortable and did not judge us when we felt it was time to put her to sleep. We got a second puppy who contracted Parvo and Jules was Johnny-On-The-Spot for care. Our dog recovered quickly and fully. For 6 years they have provided great care. Never have we felt they were being pushy regarding treatment. We appreciate them for providing us with all options and information for us to make the best decision for our animals. read more

This is the best veterinary hospital I've ever used, hands down. My dog, Max, loved coming here, although it was only for a short time. He trusted everyone who works here, which gave me peace. They took excellent care of him, and me. The last time we went was the day we had to say goodbye and let him cross over the bridge. He was too weak to get out of the car so one of the wonderful women that work there picked him up and carried him in for me. They placed him on a wheeled cart and took us back into a quiet room so I could speak to the doctor and decide what to do. They took him into another room to place a saline lock into his arm and then let us stay in the grieving room as long as I needed to daddy goodbye and tell everyone what was going on and do whatever else I needed to do. They gave me a call button to call them when I was ready to let him pass. I loved my Maxie, but he go so sick, so fast, and nothing was helping him, he just kept getting worse. It was time. I'm incredibly grateful, and thankful that I found this wonderful place just in time to give us the peace, quiet, and respect we needed to let my fur baby cross the bridge to see his brothers and sisters again. While my dog, that I had for 12.5 years was being euthanized, the vet pestered me about details of cremation, disposition of ashes, selling me a paw print, and of course, the most important thing to her in such a situation: payment. Not before, not after, but DURING euthanasia, with my baby hooked up, alive in my arms, our last moments together... discussing cemeteries. The vet was Natalie Olsen, and whether she was brainless or heartless doesn't matter now; the past cannot be changed. I am addressing the future. You are here because of your bond with your baby and the feelings you have. That such an abysmal %^#@ would be employed there, entrusted with animals and dealing with the humans who love them... it makes everyone at Jules Veterinary Center guilty by association. With no sense of decency, anything can happen there, no matter how outrageous... something you'll wish you could forget, but cannot. If you read the other negative reviews, you'll notice a common thread: apathy, callousness, and greed. It's inconceivable that Olsen hadn't done this before- maybe they all do it there- but I had no way of knowing. If a previous client had gotten over the shock and posted about it, I wouldn't have made the mistake of walking through the door of Jules Veterinary Center. There's no way they'd understand why what was done was disgusting and evil, and a public relations band-aid may appear, trying to divert your attention to me, offering up one of those "we're sorry if anyone was offended" non-apologies we hear so often these days. After a horrible time at another vet this afternoon. I called Jules to put my cat down. They had me come right away. Showed so much compassion. Towards my semi feral and myself. Your typical big vet, vet clinic. The reception staff was fine, but not impressed with the vet. Was but in a room with my dog to wait for vet, typical. A young women in scrubs came in and greater my dog, and started asking questions. She never introduced herself, at some point I saw she had her name embroidered on her scrubs, it read Dr....I had no idea she was the vet before that. I explained that my dogs face was swollen from having two fights in the last week with my sisters dog. She asked about her teeth as though maybe she had a tooth issue. I explained the dog had her teeth cleaned 2 months earlier and all was good. She asked if she had X-rays...maybe she had an abscess in her root. My response, NO...her face wasn't swollen before the 2 dog fights. It went on from there with her focusing on other things. When I wasn't interested in the Non issues, she did the lazy vet thing...I don't know so I will prescribe and antibiotic and an anti inflammatory. Regular Drs do this too, here's a prescription now go away. I took the prescription, paid the bill, and left. It's a shame it's so hard to find a vet that can do something other than just write scripts. My dog is fine, and did not give her the antibiotics as the vet didn't believe she had been bit. read more

My little buddy got sick last month. Turned out to be really bad and I had to make the very difficult choice to put him to sleep to end his pain. The doctors and staff were very helpful and compassionate, which is good, because I was a complete wreck. We brought him in and they have a room set up where the family can say goodbye. Toughest thing I ever had to do, but they made the process as, well... "dignified" is the only word I can think of, as possible. I will always miss my best friend, and they helped make it bearable, for which I thank them. Yes, the initial consult, testing and treatment were expensive. This is a professional service. Labs are not cheap, nor is the time for the vet and staff. Most of us do not have health insurance for our pets, so we pay full price for medical services. They didn't try and upsell me, they treated my wishes for my friend with compassion and did what they could for him while he was here. If I ever get another cat, they will be my vet. RAVE - let me repeat HUGE RAVE - JULES VET on 11th. I ended up at Jules after the post that was posted about Affordable Pet Clinic the other day. Initially I was supposed to have a procedure done for my pup at Affordable Pet Clinic, but after reading that post -I just couldn't take my pup there. The best decision I ever made! And thank god to the nice person who shared her story. The people that work at Jules Vet are fricken AWESOME!!!! By far, some of the best people I have ever met at a Vet. Clinic. My dog is a small dog, but very aggressive. Doesn't like anyone touching him and we normally have to muzzle him while getting his nails clipped. But the folks at Jules were able to clean his ears, clip his nails and do a full examination without any muzzle. I could NOT believe it. They did such a great job with him. He walked out looking happy. They were upfront and honest about all costs and services they were going to provide. They explained each charge in detail. And told us upfront that if they couldn't do it - they wouldn't. That they were not going to force him. Seen Dr Kong for my dogs ear infection for which she couldn't even look in his ears. Tried sending me home with a sedative so we could come back. My dogs has seen many vets, and has many problems with his ears. I have never had a problem looking in his ears. I already had the medicine she was trying to give me as this has been a ongoing issue. She continued to tell me the pills I have arent cephalexin. Well they are 600 MG chewable tablets. In my opinion she has no idea what's she talking about and was trying to sell me needless medication. I will never go there again.... read more

My Lily is a 5 1/2 lb Shitzu/ yorkie/ toy poodle mix. She had just turned 9 years old. One morning I woke up to her vomiting green bile. She had several little pools of bloody diarrhea. I called Jules and they got her right in to see the Doctor. She had a bad hemorrhagic gastroenteritis. She would require hospitalization, IV fluids, antibiotics, and medication to calm her gut down. My Honey quickly wrote out a check for the $1000 that was the minimal estimate for care. They don't stay overnight with them. They offered her nurse to spend the night with her for $300. My baby's life was worth the cost. She dropped her blood sugar during the night and became hypothermic. Well worth the extra for her care. She had Pancreatitis... I was so upset, I forgot I carried insurance on her and her sister. Insurance paid for all but $400 of her bill plus the $300 for her overnight nurse. She was hospitalized 4 days and is back to her happy, healthy self- Thank you Jules! read more

I recently posted in a public forum how they were not booking any non essential appointments (nail trims) until the month of May when I called the first week of March, after they asked clients not to call for anything non essential the end of January. I held off booking a mail trim but thought by March it would be ok. The public forum was for "rants and raves". In the post I even mentioned my love for the staff and Drs, but with how their scheduling was I would need to look into another vet office. I was emailed a few days later all my pets records, and when I responded saying I was shocked they would just email this to me, the response was I shouldn't be shocked as by my posting about what I did I was closing communication with them, which I was not at all just "ranting" on not being able to get an appointment. I then received a letter in the mail stating due to my post they would not be seeing my pets further. Mind you I have spent over the 19 years using them as my vet I have spent thousands of dollars with them. I have multiple dogs and cats. definitely recommend! we came in for a check up exam and diagnostics to see the reason for my dog's symptoms. she ended up having to have surgery for Pyometra (uterus infection)! the vets were all very nice and understanding. they called us every few hours to update us with treatment plans, etc. the surgery ended up being successful and we picked her up after her 3 day stay at their clinic. the price point $$ was definitely lower than what we expected after a teeth extraction, surgery, anesthesia, medication, IV fluids, etc. also, thank you to the doctor for the low cost for teeth extraction. we will come back soon for our other dog to spay as well! thank you jules veterinary center for taking care of our Apple read more

With no account and no knowledge of us or our dog Frankie, Dr. Garcia from Jules came out to our home to put Frankie down in her own comfortable space. What a service. I had an appointment for 9am, I showed up promptly and took my 2 cats to the drop off area where upon my first phone call to let them know I had arrived, I got no answer. I could see 3 staff members inside on the phone, so I waited a couple of minutes and tried calling again. When they did answer they tried to immediately put me on hold, to which I let them know I was there to check in for my appointment and both my cats were very distressed outside waiting (strictly indoor cats that don't like to travel). The woman on the phone told me there were 4 other people ahead of me, but yet there was no one else waiting at the drop off area? I accepted this and tried waiting it out, but after 15-20 minutes of watching the workers inside do other things, leaving me and my distressed cats outside, I decided to leave. Personally could not recommend this place to anyone who treats their animals like family. I could only listen to my cats wail in fear for so long before I said I'm outta here. read more

They completely lied to me on the phone regarding the way I would be checked in with my cat and they came out side and threw my cat at me when I was upset and had been telling them how they had lied I would never take your pet here if it was the last vet on earth .. We drove 45 minutes to Jules Our rabbit was fighting for his life and no one near us would see an emergency rabbit. Jules would and even though our rabbit lost his fight a block away from the center when we arrived they took him with all swiftness and seriousness to try to save him. When they came back with our sweet boy to tell us he had past they were so compassionate and gave us time to grieve and they did footprints for us which has been a very special keepsake. They didn't charge us for anything. Later that week we received a letter from Jules with condolences. This was our family's first lost of beloved baby and it was handled with so much professionalism. My experience last Saturday, 10/14/17 was extremely different. From the time I arrived to leaving, the staff made me feel so important. I came early to register, which was simple, from that point I took my baby Belle (Basset Hound) to get weighed, then to the cleanest exam room I have seem, almost more pleasant than a doctor's office. The vet tech was very kind to my Belle. When Dr. Atkins came in, she greeted me with much respect and caring approach. She did a physical exam, and suggested a treatment. I had to leave Belle there for a couple hours while they did lab and x-ray work. I came back at the requested time, they took me back to Belle immediately. She was a little sleepy because the x-ray procedure required her to relaxed. Dr. Atkins discussed the results of the exams performed on her in detail. She gave me options on how to treat her, the vet was not pushy with respect to cost factor. Later that day, the doctor called to check on Belle, also the next day she called again to give me the findings from the radiologist. Everything turned out better that I expected!!! She told me that if I needed anything that was of concern about Belle to just call. They are opened every day for your needs. The experience was great!!! I have nothing but good things to say about this vet center. Their prices are very reasonable (i.e. cheaper than Livermore vets) and everyone who helped us was very nice. One of our dogs is terrified of going to the vet, and the vet tech (and vet) was extremely gentle and patient with her. They had to take a blood sample and instead of taking our dog into the back like normal, they let her stay in the room with us to get the sample because our girl was so scared. They also went out of their way to explain ways that we could save money on our bill, (instead of jacking it up with a lot of unnecessary crap like a lot of other vets do) by doing things like combining labwork and letting us know that a few of their usual procedures weren't necessary for our older dog (They could have easily not told us and done them anyway to make more money). read more

On 06/22/2014 my Wife and I decided to take our new kitten to the vet for his first check up, long story short we paid $52 for the vet to just hold him and weigh him, they just have him a dose of "dewormer" which they recommended ($18). Five hours later Sedrik (my kitten) was throwing up, we called them immediately to let them know what was happening, they said it was normal (the worms were dying ) 2 hours later Sedrik was not moving , and unfortunately he was dying, we immediately took him back to the vet and they told us they were sorry but they were closing , there was nothing they could do, i was not going to argue as my kitten was dying, we took him to Sage in Dublin a 24 hr emergency vet, we spent 200$ , they gave him fluids and kept him for about 4 hours until he was a little better. Next morning we called Jules Vet , they said they didn't know what happened and that they couldn't do anything for us, no apology , no refund , no help paying the ER bill, nothing, its not so much the money issue, but they were completely unsympathetic, i cant imagine this guys ever touching anyone's loved pet, they are so inconsiderate and careless, needless to say we will never come back or recommend anyone here EVER. It is very sad to see businesses provide such poor careless services to one's loved pets, specially when you want to believe that the money you are paying is worth your pets well-being. On a side note the guys at Sage in Dubin were very understanding and just overall awesome caring individuals, i highly recommend them should you ever encounter an emergency . read more

My review is based off the from office staff more than the actual vet's as well .. I see the vet for 5 minutes and then I'm dealing with the other staff for the other 45. I have been bringing my pets to Jules for the last three years and until this last visit the care was good enough for me to pay the 20% more than any other vet in the area to move them. I didn't want to have to re-establish care and my pets are pretty healthy so we are only there maybe twice yearly. This last visit made me realize that when people say "you use Jules they aren't very compassionate" or "they are strictly a business" they aren't lying. I went in last week as my pet had an issue with his eye that looked to be conjunctivitis. I saw the doctor left my pet with them and came back that evening to get him as they needed to run some tests. I arrive and they hand me the bill I go to write them a check and the clerk says very bluntly I can't tAle a check it our policy. I tell her oh I didn't realize, my debit card/credit cards were stolen can you make an exception? I can't without getting approval from the owner. Oh okay no problem I'll wait. So, here is the deal it's Sunday at 5pm so the banks are closed I couldn't get cash or I would have but here is why I'm done .. This girl goes to the back and here is when everything changes .. I went from oh hi and let me get that for you to having the plague. This girl-texts the owner .. Yup texts.. So I'm waiting .. 20 minutes go by ..no one will speak to me .. Another ten minutes ok .. What's going on .. Oh I'm waiting to hear back from the owner.. Two of the techs come out .. Still waiting ok .. Where is my cat .. Oh we can't release him until we have payment .. Like I'm going to run out of there with him and not take care of my bill !!! Here is the deal you want to treat me like a second class citizen after 3 years of never questioning your fees and always doing the necessary for my pets .. Hmmm good bye! You have made enough money off of me .. Clearly that's all your after! Additionally, get some customer service skills pick up the phone and call people when customers are waiting ! Just a reminder .. It has taken me a few months to get over this place as they nearly killed my cat! I didn't want to write this review but I have to let fellow Yelpers know... My kitty was very sick, and I took him in without an appointment. The first question was, "do you have an appointment?" followed by "fill out this form, we are really busy and without an appointment, I don't know how I can help you." So I explained this was an emergency and the receptionist says "fill out the form, I'll see what we can do". There was NO ONE ELSE THERE!!!! How could they be busy? Their techs were moving around the office and they had just opened their doors for business! After 20 minutes, they set us up in a room and the doctor came to see our sick kitty. I explained the symptoms and she told me I didn't have to worry about anything and this was a common problem, she said she would keep the cat overnight and begin treatment. My cat spent 4 days at the clinic and the conditioned only worsened. I went to see him every day and kept asking why he wasn't getting better...they could never give me a straight answer. They never called me; I would call them every day to follow up. I called on the 4th day before leaving work to head over to see my kitty and the doctor told me that I either take the kitty to another facility or they could put him down! I was SHOCKED! Double-U Tee Eff! I rushed over to the clinic and told them I am moving him to Tri-valley and they checked me out, over charged me for the food which I didn't want as well as medicine that the new Vet told us not to give him. Their prices are not cheap and they are really overpriced for the service they say they offer. When I brought my kitty to Tri Valley, the doctors told me that the vet who had been treating my cat had given him way too aggressive treatment than his little heart and body could handle and if they didn't alleviate some of the pressure he would surely die. They also told us that the medication that they were treating him with at Jules, can cause death and should not be used in the treatment of my cat since it would be too strong for him and would cause him to go into shock and die. My cat spent over a week at Tri-valley and they were able to nurse him back to health (see our review of them as well). Jules gave us the worst Veterinary service I have ever experienced, customer service is terrible and I don't think they know what they are doing. I will never recommend them to anyone. read more

March 31, 2018 I took my cat Binks to Affordable Pet Vet Clinic and had a down right terrible experience with pet care, customer service, and information provided. Today I visited Jules Veterinary Center and had the most wonderful experience that I had to share as a huge thank you to all of those who recommended the office. Walking into Jules gave me a better feeling right away, the ladies at the front desk where so attentive and patient answering every question I had and with my vague description of a pill popper gun thing, knew exactly what I was talking about and ran to the back right away to get me one. At the same time the other lady printed out a packet for me and highlighted certain points to do with cleaning instructions and precautions to take with Giardia, without me even having to ask. Which to me shows the professionalism and care that this office instills in their employees. When comparing prices Jules lab fee is $30 with an exam fee of $50, Affordable Pet Vet Clinic is $70 for a lab fee and $30 for an exam. Adding those up Jules is $80 and Affordable is $100, not a huge difference but I'm sure as many families like mine know, every little bit helps also when affordable is plastered on your building then I would think you would really have to be affordable. Jules will absolutely be our veterinarian center for all our cats from now on. read more

We've never had any issues with Jules...after having moved to Tracy from Oakland with our herd of cats, we did our research and settled on Jules as our home vet. The gals at the front desk and Dr. Burnett have been nothing but professional, compassionate and helpful. Unfortunately for us, we've had numerous health issues with our cats (everything from FELV to cancer) and the Jules staff has always been wonderful and great at working around our busy schedules. We lost 2 of our cats within the span of 5 months (both to cancer) and everyone at Jules was so understanding and sympathetic. I'm surprised at the number of bad reviews for Jules, we've never felt like we were treated unfairly or charged unnecessarily. Diagnosing animals is not like diagnosing humans; it's not an exact science and I find it odd that the people on here are upset with the very people who are trying to help their animals. My fiance and I have been planning our wedding for the past year and spent a huge chunk of our wedding fund on our cats' health issues and we haven't even batted an eye at the expenses. Yes, it's been very expensive, but we wouldn't have it any other way. There is no way I'd overlook a health issue or put our cats in unnecessary danger b/c I can't afford their medical bills. I don't think you should have a pet if you can't take financial responsibility for it. As long as we're in Tracy, we'll continue to take our cats to Dr. Burnett and Jules. read more

My cat was very sick & would not eat or drink for a week nor could she walk. I took her to Jules to Dr. Shmernyi who said she ate a flea & charged me $220.00 & gave her medicine that makes her vomit. She basically said what another yelper said "we don't know what the problem is, but here, give your cat this. If it doesn't help, bring her back and we'll run more tests and try something else" is the typical response from this place. I got a 2nd opinion at another vet (out of town) in which the vet said my cat had a high fever. They gave her cat asprin as well as fluids and a pill to stimulate the appetite & now she is fine. I like Jules itself but not the doctor as she misdiagnosed my cat. The "2nd opinion" vet was even disappointed/schocked that Jules could not help my sick cat after viewing all the symptoms. I have lived in Tracy for years & take my cat to the discount shots day at Jules which is great but this incident reinforces that if my cat gets really sick again I will not take her to Jules.
