Food is excellent. Service great! Ambience exquisite! What's more to say? Food...prepared by a real chef. The menu is well rounded with entrees catered to all tastes. Must visit and dine. A few years ago Rams Hill was in a transition phase with a new owner. It was lousy in the beginning. Bad food. Run down premises,etc. year 26....complete 180....upgraded clubhouse and restaurant. Totally new menu. A new chef, for sure because the food is excellent. Pricey, but worth it. A five star Pro Shop,too. I would say Rams Hill has risen to the top of eating places in Borrego Springs. read more

Such a great location. The outside area is absolutely beautiful to sit at. The service was spot on.

First off, spectacular view! Secondly, the food was okay. Service was non-existent. There were maybe 2 tables with guests when we arrived so being busy was no excuse. It was embarrassing as we brought friends to show off the place. I had to hunt down a waiter to get our check after sitting at our empty table for 40 minutes. We had to ask for cutlery. We had to search for a waiter to order a second drink. The beer was spilled on the slotted table when it was thumped down and ran through onto my husband's pants. No apology was offered. We expressed our concern to the waiter about the lack of service and received no response. Wow, what a difference service can make. read more

I wanted to post on an experience I had here about two years ago which I'm reminded of it every time I go to Borrego Springs. I came in mid day on a weekend, sat at the bar, ordered fries and a beer. It wasn't a particularly busy day. When it was time to pay I asked which the staff prefers (cash or credit), and paid in cash. My server got frustrated having to count change, so much so that he started talking poorly about me to other wait staff as I sat in front of him. I didn't catch on till a couple sentences into their convo, as it was in Spanish. They made comments on my race, demeanor, finances, and expectations regarding the tip I'd leave. At that point I started apologizing (and everyone got quiet), left a tip, got up and cried as I left the restaurant because I felt embarrassed. I will never be back. read more

Eh, their food and service is adequate, yet nothing extraordinary. I have been there twice, and each time my takeaway was that I wouldn't order that particular item again. I will likely go back because it is in a convenient location for me, but I wouldn't go out of my way to go there. The only upside was the view. read more

Great little gem in the middle of the desert. The views are amazing off the patio and I would definitely come back. The waiter recommended a burger and the udon salad so we ordered the salad and the Pancho Villa burger - both did not disappoint. My family and I went to Borrego Springs to see the metal sculptures and wanted to have a nice dinner. This golf course and restaurant is like an oasis! The golf course is beautiful and well taken care of and the restaurant was nice. We sat outside and it was about 90 degrees, but they had misters and fans which made it pleasant. Our waitress was very nice and topped off our drinks without asking. That's a plus in my book! We ordered a cobb salad which was big and the 3 of us shared it. It was delicious! My daughter ordered the salmon entrée which she liked. My husband and I ordered the 14 oz. rib-eye steak. My husband worked at a meat market in Dana Point and knew right away the cut of meat was not a rib-eye based on the lack of marbling. His educated guess was that it was mostly likely a sirloin steak. It was good. We also all shared the Brussel sprouts which was delicious. We were full so we did not order dessert. Of course I regret it!! If I'm ever in the area again, I would definitely return. I'd like to come back and play golf as I read it was one of the top 100 golf courses in the US! I highly recommend this restaurant. read more

For this being a golf course I was surprised at how poor the experience was all around. We made a reservation at the restaurant for 5:45 and we arrived on time. we told the host we had reservations and she told us to check in at another desk.... Then after about a two minute wait of us just standing at a desk she says Oh for the restaurant?! Yes come over here name.... Okay then we are walking to the table she has no idea where to place us we're just following her through the main dinning area. I ask to be sat outside, she kindly says "yes "and we follow her out. she has us walk back and forth a few times before showing us a dark corner table I ask to be say more in the center with light and a heater. We were given no silverware or plates, even after they had dropped off the bread and butter. we had to ask for silverware. Then we had to ask for the drink menu it's a paper literally laminated lol the food items menu is like 4 pages. We asked for recommendations and went with what was recommended, Out side of the appetizer, that was decided on by us. which was nachos we asked for pico and jalapeños on the side the waitress came back 25 minutes later to tell us they messed up the nachos by putting pico on the nachos and if we still want it. We asked how long it would take for them to remake the nachos correctly and she informed us that since the kitchen was busy it would be 15/20 minutes which I find odd even at a fast food joint they would remake the messed up order immediately before proceeding or have one person work on that only.... Anyway she asked if we wanted it or not we said okay. Nachos say home made chips they aren't. The toppings were scarce. We got pasta shrimp and steak. Pasta sauce was thin and no flavor the shrimp still had the tails.... The pasta tasted like it was sitting in the freezer for months. The steak was a great cut the flavor was over salted the broccoli was from a frozen microwaved bag, you know the ones you get at the grocery for quick meals. The mashed potatoes were great lol my husband and I were giggling the whole meal at how wild that experience was. This is a golf club restaurant?? We were leaving and the main dining room smelled like a nursing home cafeteria. We paid our bill in full nothing this was done about the nachos or the salty steak. I think I would have been better off at a McDonald's. I will not be back. read more

The restaurant at Ram's Hill is best if you aren't pressed for time or just stopping by for a drink. Their outdoor patio area is beautiful and it over looks the golf course. I was able to see the 18th hole from the fire pit as the rest of the group came to join me. There was corn hole & a fire pit with someone making sure we were doing ok every so often. A group of six of us came to have dinner. The atmosphere was lovely. We sat outside and the desert heat was not an issue. The sounds of drops and crickets filled the air. Great place for conversation because that night boy did we do a lot of waiting. It was really no issue because we weren't in any hurry. But if they had comp'ed us a percentage for the wait... it would have made the situation so much better. The food was fantastic though. Everyone in our group of six found something that they were interested in. I would come back again, I'd just remember to not come with a major appetite. read more

We ate dinner here on Dec 28. We made a reservation since we had a group of 12. The table was set up and ready for us when we arrived. Orders were taken quickly and bread was put on the table until the meals came. All food was delicious! Wait staff was friendly, efficient, professional. The prices were average for our experience in borrego springs but the ambience and service were exceptional. The only issue we had was upon entry to the site. It is very dark. We wish we had checked it out in the light because the property is not well lit. Because it is gated we had to stop and have the woman at the gate open it for us. She was not terribly friendly. I highly recommend the restaurant but would recommend checking it out in the daylight. We will definitely eat here again next time we are in town! read more

The rams hill restaurant is so nice ! The views are so beautiful and relaxing. Not to mention the staff makes this place really stand out. We had such friendly waitress and hostess , they made our first time there memorable. We had the pizza , recommended by the staff there and it was delicious! This was during lunch so the place was not crowded, and we were able to get a table outdoors with a view. Definitely want to go back for sunset and drinks! read more

The Mrs. and I had lunch today at Rams Hill Golf Club Restaurant. It was kind of breezy outside, but the hostess, who was incredibly friendly, said the wind wasn't that bad, so we sat outside. Honestly, if you go to this restaurant and don't sit outside, you're wasting your time and experience. A busboy asked us what we wanted to drink so the Mrs. ordered a Margarita and I ordered a Maker's Mark Manhattan. Although, I was somewhat hesitant on what I was going to get. After a short time, Maria, our server arrived with a Margarita and asked me again what I wanted to drink. At this point, we also ordered the ceviche of the day as our appetizer. Maria returned with what looked like beer in a martini glass. Obviously, it wasn't a Manhattan. It didn't have that beautiful amber glow that I've come to know and love. Luckily, Maria had enough experience to know that my drink didn't look right and took it back and returned with a proper Manhattan. For my lunch, I ordered the Rams Hill Signature Burger that was cooked at a perfect medium and topped with house made 1,000 Island dressing, caramelized onions, bacon, and cheddar cheese. I chose fries as my side and I will tell you that the fries are addicting. The Mrs. ordered the Philly Cheese Steak sandwich. She didn't rave about it, but said it was good. You'll note that I didn't mention the ceviche. That's because it never arrived. We let Maria know and she apologized. Honestly, it wasn't a big deal because we didn't need it, but Maria brought us a small sample to enjoy. It was just ok. There really aren't a lot of places to eat in Borrego Springs. The town rolls up around 8. If you're looking for a nice relaxing place for lunch or dinner, Rams Hill Golf Club Restaurant is the place. read more

For the last 6-8 years my wife and I have lunched here with friends two to four times a year. It is a beautiful location and lunch on the patio is picturesque. The food is very good, priced a little higher than a normal lunch/appetizer should be, but reasonable for the setting, location, venue, etc. This time there were four of us. My wife and I split a Rueben with fries. I asked to substitute onion rings, but the waiter told me they don't have onion rings. Our friends had a chicken sandwich and fish tacos. Together, we all shared nachos and artichoke dip. The food quality was terrific. Everything tasted great. Cocktails were spot-on (Margaritas, Moscow Mule, and a Cuba Libra). One twist to our meal...remember I wanted onion rings, and the waiter told me they don't have onion rings, our friend who ordered the chicken sandwich received it piled high with two onion rings and two additional onion rings adorned the plate as garnish. Obviously, they have onion rings. When I brought this to his attention he told me the restaurant only has enough to serve as seen on this chicken sandwich plate and not as a side order....odd, but what the heck, all of the positives off-set this paradox. Overall, I would highly recommend Rams Hill for lunch or afternoon cocktails and appetizers. I haven't tried them for dinner so I can't speak to that. Give it a shot. read more

Crowded when we arrived but we were seated within 20 minutes. Interesting menu of American fare with a little flair. We had: short rib quesadilla - ample meat with flour tortilla, cut on bias in 4 pieces and served vertically on top of fresh pico and guac gnome salad - with strawberries, avocado and pepitas, very fresh Omnivore's Dilemma flatbread - artichoke, cheese and cherry tom flatbread Food on the whole was delicious and somewhat creative. Came to the golf resort for the weekend for my husband's birthday. Had breakfast and dinner here. Breakfast was good but dinner was outstanding! Started with the Poblano Caesar. What a yummy flavor with the poblano, not too overpowering. Hubby had the pork chop, which hands down was the best pork chop I've ever had. Very tender, the maple bourbon sauce was a delicious compliment to the perfectly cooked chop. I had the shrimp poblano pasta, which was a bit disappointing, the shrimp was just boiled and the pasta was slightly overcooked for me (I'm Italian, I like al dente) but the sauce was amazing. I don't love tomatillos, but our server brought me a taste of it (what a nice touch). They brought us the chocolate mousse cake for his birthday dessert...OMG what a wonderful chocolate explosion. The desserts all looked amazing, so we'll have to try some of the others...we're going back today for dinner. The burger looks amazing too!! read more

Visited 2/19/2019 For my lady's Birthday we started the evening at this beautiful lounge for Happy Hour Cocktails and munchies. It didn't disappoint us with a fantastic view of the desert and surrounding mountains. The bar is very nice and the outside patio overlooking everything is very nice also. The Cocktails were good with a decent price for a resort lounge. We only tried two Happy Hour appetizers and both didn't disappoint. The Pulled Pork Sliders were soft, moist, and delicious. The Borrego Flatbread was also very tasty. The service was friendly although not the fastest. But that's also what we loved about this place. It's slow and RELAXING. So far my rating for this place is 3 1/2 to 4 Stars. We will be back to try dinner sometime. Enjoy read more

Beautiful oasis in the desert. Good menu, although not a huge assortment of breakfast options. I was very interested in the chilequilles, but when I request that the corn chips in mine not be "fried in bacon fat" as described on the menu, I was disappointed to learn that this was the only way it could be served. Since I'm vegetarian, I had to make another choice. I had a scrambled eggs and potatoes breakfast instead and have got to say that the scrambled eggs were perfectly prepared. Not browned, as I sometimes get at other places; they were perfection. The fruit was fresh and the potatoes with salsa on the side were good. The service was also good and we were given a choice of sitting inside or outside, and took the latter option. It was a beautiful setting. read more

Came here with my wife on our babymoon on Memorial Day weekend. A new restaurant at a new golf course on a hill. The view is nice. The menu looked friendly for all, including vegans. They said it was booked but we could sit outside. So we're sat in the sun, in the desert, which is unpleasant, but we get some waters and we wait for the sun to set to get some shade. We are told they are short-staffed, that's fine. So we are sitting 15, 20, 30 minutes. So I go tell someone that no one has come, they seem to have no idea we are even there for dinner and say they will send someone. 20 minutes go by. So at this point, there is no point, service won't get better and the hour lost is sunk cost. As we walk out, I see a manager and tell him that we hadn't been seen in 50 minutes. His response is "my apologies" without even looking at me, which was basically to say, "the restaurant is packed so I don't give a ####." Well, it was a nice place to see, but certainly not coming back. Ended up going to Arches, not as posh but great service and great view. read more
