I purchased a (12) inch round decorated birthday cake, was a tad dry, there was hardly no frosting in between the layers. When i cut into it the layers they slid apart instead of sticking together. Almost lost half of it on the counter. The decorations were pretty. I probably will not order another cake any time soon. read more

This place is charming, clearly a local staple. Lots of pastries and fresh bread at reasonable prices, service with a smile. Be prepared to wait a little if you need something out of the case - I was there on a Sunday afternoon and there was a bit of a line. Nice little bakery/sub shop. Good place to stop for lunch for subs and pizza slices. The donuts and cinnamon rolls are very good as well. Stopped there on a Saturday and the place was very busy and had steady customers the whole time I was there (I decided to eat my Italian sub in the parking lot). We lived behind this bakery 30 yrs ago! It was our family's favorite pizza and bakery! We have been all over the country since then and all pizza is measured by their standards in our huge family. I'd give zero stars if I could. I'd been looking for a hulk cake for my son's second birthday.I finally found an avengers cake with hulk fairly large on the picture I was shown at Julian bros. When I ordered the cake I was told that they couldn't write any birthday message on it because the picture would be a print screen on the cake. I assumed that meant because the picture was going to be large and there was no room. Wh my husband brought the cake home the picture was a quarter of the size of the cake with ample room for a message. So I got no birthday message and no big picture of hulk. My husband said the staff didn't seem to care when he expressed any disappointment. From now on I'll stick with Holiday Market where I've gotten amazing cakes for what ended up being the same price. Learned my lesson about trying something new to try and save a buck. read more

This is my go-to place for packzi every year. It's also where I go or recommend when looking for a party sub. You can order a big sub or purchase individual subs. This Is the best little bakery around! The baked goods are a flash back to the way bakeries used to be. When you enter the building the aroma awakens your better side and you can't help but feel happy. I recently ordered a Boston Creme pie, which in the summer is a rarity, but the owner was kind enough to make. He truly went out of his way-the cake was light and airy, the custard filling-light and creamy. They make cannoli in two sizes- mini and regular and will add your choice of nuts or chocolate chips. Pineapple upside down cake so good!!! Cake was still airy instead of dense. Italian sub was amazing with the fresh baked bread, homemade dressing, and fresh meats. Cookies were excellent! Donuts were not my fav. Would stick to cakes and cookies. Great food, friendly staff. Looks like a small grocery store, but it is a bakey and deli. Will be back for sure. One of the last of the true bakeries left in this area. Fresh baked breads, cakes, donuts, cookies and more. But to top if off, a great deli counter with very reasonable pricing. I was visiting a friend in the area and went here for a pizza, which I thought was mediocre, at best. Not a fan.

My folks went here for years. Now we live nearby and I am another regular customer. The bread is the best, with wonderful selelction. Hubby likes the German white for sandwiches, son likes the multi grain, and the rye is my favorite. Fresh bread comes out of the oven all day long. It is hard to resist the baked goods, but when I break down I like the Snow Ball cupcakes that are nothing like the ones I got in my school lunch when a girl. The pasta selection alone is amazing. The salads and subs are really good, and the pizza very nice although the sauce is blander than we like. The owner and staff are really super nice making the whole experience a pleasure. read more

This bakery reminds me of the bakeries I went to growing up. I needed a gluten free cake for my daughter in laws birthday and this bakery makes them. Yellow or chocolate, large or small. I got her a small decorated layer cake. It was beautiful. And delicious. You would not have known this cake was gluten free. I wish I wasn't gluten free, as all the breads and cakes in the cases looked amazing. I will be going here again!! read more

I bought a coffee cake at Julian Brothers.The inside was full of mold. I took it back and showed it to Mr. Julian. He said the girls must have forgot to rotate the cakes. Never will I go there again. The pizza was awful!!! We had 2 extra large pizzas from here today. They were woefully undercooked. My colleagues and I were amazed that someone could have pulled these out of the oven when they did. the only item i tried that was really good was the lemon meringue pie. always have hope for another good bakery find, but this isn't the place. italian bread is tasteless and just plain white bread. no developed flavor from a slow rise, no chewy interior. thought it might make good french toast - no; even using eggland eggs, rum, nutmeg and butter to fry it in, it as still just tasteless. cake donuts also bland with no distinct flavor - sour cream was just plain white, choc/choc iced also no real chocolate flavor. cannolis were freshly filled and the shell was crisp but the filling was practically corn starch thickened skim milk. sorry, again no flavor. thus i have given up on this bakery. this is not a restaurant but a bakery with hot food and deli case. don't know why Yelp is treating it as a restaurant??? read more

When I was a young lad, once a month we would have pizza delivered to our school from Julian Brothers. As a youngster I remember it tasting so delicious, so perfect in it's cheesiness. Many moons passed since those days and when I finally made it back to Julian Bros Bakery I knew what I had to to. Buy one of these pizza's for nostalgia's sake. It costs less than a frozen pizza from the grocery store and tasted oh so much better. The thick crust doesn't overwhelm the rest of the cheesy goodness and actually works quite nicely with it. They have ready made pizza by the slice, you can order, or you can take and bake which is what I did. I go for the pizza, but the bakery items are just as outstanding. For example, the blueberry pie is so delicious I challenge anyone who tries it to find one better. I don't think it's going to happen. JB's is small, and usually a mad house, so get in and look around, order and get out. I hope you like it as much as I do. read more

One of things that we are fortunate to notice sometimes is where working men are headed to grab a lunch to go. It always turns out to have good sandwiches and good pizza. We happened to notice a heap of them heading into Julian Bros Bakery one day. The bakery looks kind of industrial almost with trucks out front and occupying a strip mall with no curb appeal but go in anyway. It's frozen meals, sandwiches and bake goods...really GOOD bake goods. I can't decide if this is an Italian bakery or a Polish bakery or maybe it's both? They offer pasta, Chrusciki (angel wings), and Paczki (filled donuts) among other more traditional offering like breads, cookies and cakes. I'm a big fan of chrusciki and there's a lot of not so good chursciki out there but at Julian Bros the angel wings are so light and so flavorful! They are really great. What ever your favorite bakery item is, you'll be happy you found this place because it's going to be amazing. read more

I don't go to Julian brothers very often because I will eat half a loaf in one day. With nothing on it. It is so soft and fresh. White seeded Italian is my favorite. I don't get anything else so I can't speak for it. The place is always hoppin' though. read more

There's a reason there's a line out the door of the place every morning, everything is fantastic at this place. From the coffee cakes to loaves of bread, cookies, dinner food and more. This is a great place to go if you're having people over for coffee or are hosting dinner. Plus I just love little mom and pop type places like this, it's has a very small town feel. read more

We have stopped into Julian Brothers on and off for a few years now. When it came time to plan my fiftieth birthday party I knew I wanted Julian Brothers to make the cake. I was not disappointed. The lady who helped me write up the order was helpful but I do wish that we had started with what was inclusive in the price. We had to go back and scribble out and write over the new item. I highly recommend this bakery for your next party. The cake was a hit as it was not your traditional chocolate, white, or yellow cake. I did the banana walnut with chocolate butter cream frosting and my guests at the party were so impressed and lived that it was different. I will continue to shop there. Read the reviews ... was duped. The pepperoni pizza we ordered was way undercooked. Very soupy. So ... we cooked it some more. Still not totally done after about 8 more minutes but didn't want to burn the crust. So we ate it. Or, about half eaten before tossing the rest in the trash. Worse than most frozen pizzas. Really blah in every way. Edible? Well, my wife got sick so I'm not sure I can say that (but I didn't get sick other than the depression from actually throwing out pizza!). read more
