Nice spot in the neighborhood of Ridgewood. Was in the mood for a slice and happened to be driving by this place so decided to give them a try - not too bad. Slice was ok - the sauce needed to be seasoned a little more but other than that can't complain. Slice came out in a nick of time and the place had all the condiments needed. read more

I ordered the spaghetti bolognese from door dash. I added sausage for 6.00 At first I thought 22.95 plus 6.00 for the protein was a little steep. Nope. It's 3 healthy servings of food in there. This was fantastic spaghetti bolognese. I believe there's a touch of heavy cream in the sauce which I'm a big fan of. This was really really good. I'm floored at the reviews for this place honestly. Ignored friends warnings to stay away. Ordered pizza, knots and mozzarella sticks takeout via Seamless. When I got to the restaurant, 40 minutes after I ordered, they said they didn't receive the order, acting all innocently when it's their own dumb fault for using like 3 or 4 different seamless pages. I had to wait another 15 minutes for food which did not include knots. Absolutely no "customer service" regarding the lateness of my order. On top of it all, the $15 personal pie and mozzarella were both super meh. I would guess they were both reheated from frozen. Poor value for food. First and last time coming here. read more

I'm not sure why this place has such low reviews. I got pizza here using too good to go and it's been amazing. All of the pizza I got were terrific. The crust was perfect, the cheese tasted fresh, the sauce was good too. The sauce on the margarita slice was amazing. It was a good amount of sweet but also had some complex flavors in it that blended very well. The sausages were good. The buffalo chicken was heating me up a bit. A very pleasant surprise. I was looking for a new local pizza place to try. I found Julie's on a pizza website for Ridgewood. I was especially impressed by the fact that their price for a pie was $2 cheaper than pretty much everybody else in the area. I was willing to give them a try. I ordered from their website and was given a 60 minute delivery time. I got a phone call from the delivery guy 50 minutes later. Early delivery is always a good sign. The pie was still hot and I felt the heat on my hands as I came upstairs. The pizza is very good. Lots of cheese and sauce, thickness which is very acceptable to me. Absolutely worth the price and as good, if not better, than the better places in the area. Julie's has found themselves a new customer. read more

We order from here all the time since it was Martinelo's. The special Martinelo's pie with the peppers, onions, sausage and pepperoni is what I order when we have guests over and they love it! Food is always good. Since Julie's arrived the food seems to be the same, same staff and delivery guy that I saw before. I was in with my kids and for some reason they said they don't carry ice when I asked for a cup of ice. That's weird if you serve soda? I didn't notice a fountain station but wasn't looking either. Just weird...overall great local pizzaria, with NYC style crust. After 5 years of going to this pizzeria I'm saddened by the change of management, and this is about a year after it changed from Martinelo's to Julie's. I ordered a pickup for a half and half pizza. Cost is $15 for a specialty pizza and $11 for a cheese. Manager (or whoever the leader who made the finance decisions) wanted to charge me $19. I didn't understand it and he didn't explain it. When I came in to pick up the pizza the lighting was dark and they changed the layout and it wasn't as inviting as it had been in the past. I hope as long as you stay on menu you should be getting the same pizza, but I'm saddened that they couldn't do a better job at communicating their why and having some customer service skills. read more

I live in the neighborhood and we eat pizza at least once a week. In Ridgewood there are so many pizza shops but Martinello's happens to be the one closest to home. Their food in general is quite decent. However, the 3 stars is based on the fact that the owner's wife is so miserable looking, never making anyone feel welcome. The husband on the other hand, genuinely tries his best and is a pleasure to be greeted/served by him. The wife has a condescending attitude and it reflects on her personality how much she hates customer service. I'll continue to support the new pizza spot in my hood but will not go out of my way especially when there are so, so many friendly places to choose from read more

For sixteen dollars and change you get a large pie, an order of garlic knots and buffalo wings and a two liter of soda of your choosing. Delivery took over an hour though. Ordered through Uber Eats, so happy to see late night hours on the weekend since after 11 its alot of fast food or bodega options. I appreciated the personalized text thanking me for my business and confirming my order was being prepared. Packaging was clean and thoughtful. The bruschetta was outstanding, would've liked some extra basil or greenery for an herbaceous note, but the marinade of the tomatoes and red onions was still perfect and the tomatoes were just the right kind of sweet ripe for finicky tomato eaters. The bread was a combo of perfectly toasted and soft in the middle, making each bite the ideal texture and not the kind of bread that hurts the roof of your mouth or cuts your gums biting in. I decided to eat it over the Francese Shrimp and Angel Hair pasta so the loose tomatoes fell right into it. The portion of pasta was big and the shrimp were large and ample so that you could literally cut them into quarters and have a shrimp in every bite. The Francese style might not be for everybody, but I loved the fried egg coating for added protein and richness, although I wouldn't have minded some type of veggie tossed in, but it certainly wasn't a deal breaker just plainish. The sauce was on the lighter side, but again with the tomatoes of the bruschetta falling in, gave it a pomodoro kind of flair. I also got a side of meatballs that came with ample red sauce and were juicy and big.
