    Chile relleno appetizer.

Some of the most tasteless Mexican food we have had. Asked the gal near the bar area for change for the parking meter. " I don't have any change, but the bar tender might " Employees seemed short-handed & a little overwhelmed. Combo plate, ground beef taco ,cheese enchilada (.75 extra for onions?) All tasteless. Out of a can? Chile relleno,no Bueno. Odd suace & ground chorizo. $2.50 extra for stale chips & salsa. Should have waited out the long line at Positive Pie next door.

Dropped in for a quick bite before heading home. They have a cute little outdoor seating space for those that don't mind the crisp fall weather. I enjoyed a make your own chorizo burrito! The server was helpful in capturing all the right ingredients. I read the other comments about the rice - not my fave but if you add the salsa and a little hot sauce, it's great! Next time I'll order the queso and chorizo.

I just had the best chile rellenos ever! And I've had a lot of them being from Southern California. The food was great! The service was excellent. If I'm back in town I will certainly stop by. PS the bar scene looks fun too!

They provide you with chips and salsa. They have hot and mild salsa. The hot was not super hot and had good flavor. The mild was very sweet. We ordered the steak fajitas for $18. It was enough for two people to share. It comes with a large side of shredded cheese, lettuce and diced tomatoes. It came with rice but we requested refried beans. For $4.95 you can get a side of white queso. The meat was flavorful and served on a sizzling plate with sliced onion and green peppers. The tortillas were flour and from a package. There is a bar with about six seats. They have nightly specials written on a chalk board. They play non Spanish music that doesn't go with the ambiance. There is Free street parking at night. They have outdoor and indoor seating. Overall, it was good American style Mexican food in Vermont.

    Grainy rice

I am disappointed with the rice. In my Mexican family it is a big deal for the rice to be cooked, (every part of the meal uses rice) the food was oily and would not recommend to the Mexican food lovers

We stopped in after our visit to the Vermont Museum. The restaurant is very nice, very high ceilings and nice comfy booths. The bar area is a bit small but it works. We went a little passed lunchtime but before dinner. All we wanted were drinks and an appetizer to hold us over. The drinks were great and the chicken quesadillas hit the spot. Nothing spectacular other than they were timely and tasted like they should. The waiter was great (Chandler) he was quick to take our orders and always checked on us.

Chips and salsa with some Margs- quaint Mexican place with great staff and cool atmosphere - stop in next time you are in town

I've eaten…read moreOaxacan in San Antonio, off the backs of taco trucks in San Diego, and in straw thatched huts all across Mexico. There's no way I'm finding decent Mexican in northern Vermont, right? Well, ok, there's one for sure: Trail Break in White River Junction. But it's a Wednesday, and they're closed. Besides, we were just in Burlington, and the nearest city on our route is Montpelier. Ok, what's what around here? Cute little city. Cool buildings. And hey, there's a place called Mad Taco. Let's give that a try. The logo is John Tenniel's timeless portrait of the Mad Hatter, with added tacos on his plates. Nice touch, and I almost missed it. And now I have Grace Potter's cover of White Rabbit stuck in my brain... "Feed your head!!" Grace Potter is from around here, no? I bet she eats here when she isn't basking in Rock Stardomness. Wife and I ordered burritos, hers was carnitas, mine al pastor. We also put in for chips with guacamole. A simple dinner fare to be eaten in the front seat of our car before we start putting on more miles on our way back to Western Mass. The guy behind the counter was super cool, and helpful too. Food only took about 10 minutes or so. He set us up with everything we needed to eat take out, and I snagged a little to go cup of mild cilantro sauce (#3 on the spicy scale, not super hot) The burritos were both enormous and delicious. (Interruption from the future, I've been eating the leftovers for 2 days. Still good, nom nom nom.) My only hint of "c'mon Vermont, you can do better" was the guacamole. While the chips were astounding (lightly salted, hand fried tortilla rounds you break apart yourself, crispy perfection.) Their guacamole was just, "meh." It was mostly just squished avocado. I don't think it had any salt, lime, garlic, or anything else in it. There was a lot of it for the price we paid, but very plain. I'm not sure if that's to cater to local tastes? Like are the regulars afraid of a little jalapeno? Hard to know. If it's me, I'm punching it up with a touch of adobo, just a little hot sauce, maybe a squeeze of lime, some salsa? Your mileage may vary. That said, I don't feel the guacamole is more than a half star drop, and I always round up. Have I gone mad? Completely bonkers. But I'll tell you a secret. All the best taco joints are... Mad Taco, I give you a mercurial 5 stars! Well done.

Let's start with what we enjoyed during our visit: the drinks were good... the atmosphere was cool (more like a contemporary "cabin" vibe, which was definitely inviting)... and the staff were all stellar!! Where Ranch Camp let us down on this visit was the food. In fact, we desperately wanted to love the experience because everything LOOKED fantastic. However, all the food we ordered was bland. It all started with the pork nachos, which our party of 3 ordered as an appetizer. It was piled high and dripping with ingredients... but the dish completely lacked flavor. The pork was perfectly tender but tasted flavorless (until I added hot sauce and salt). I would also recommend they serve the dish with pico de gallo or salsa to boost the flavor. We had the same feeling with the burrito bowls. Two of us ordered different burritos (opting for bowls instead of tortillas), and we both thought the flavor was just okay. And on top of that, both of our bowls were lukewarm. In fact, the entrées weren't even hot enough to melt the cheese. I wish I would have sent the food back, but we were in a bit of a hurry. Finally, my friend James ordered the Chicken Quesadilla, which he also thought was "just okay." Oh, and we noted that a table near us sent back food... so not sure what was up with that, but we we weren't surprised based on our overall experience. Final Thoughts: Prior to visiting Ranch Camp, I read plenty of reviews praising the restaurant, so I'd like to think that they were just having a bad day.

The restaurant is inside of a bike shop which is pretty cool in itself. We started off with some nachos and fried chokes. I had artichokes but omg these were so crunchy and delicious. The nachos were stacked and loaded each chip as nachos should be. Although I wish they out the sour cream and guacamole on the side instead of drizzled on top. Their pork belly tacos were delicious just so messy. The corn with each bite literally was all over my lap and the table. Good just not a graceful meal to eat. I ordered their crunch wrap which was good but the portion was huge. Two people could easily split one. We also ordered the adult chicken tenders and fries. Which idk what they do to the fries here but you MUST HAVE THE FRIES! They are super seasoned and crunchy and just mouth watering goodness. The chicken tenders were super crisp and well flavored too. Next time I'm so ordering the chicken tenders and fries. The T-bowl looked great but the guest in our party who ordered it barely ate it for some reason. 10\10 for food. Service is a bit slow here so be patient. The prices are not bad for the food quality either. My only complaint is the parking lot behind the building is a bit tight with a larger vehicle.

Just look for the shiney silver exterior. We got there late around 8:30 PM and were quickly reminded that they closed at 9. The place was hopping and even though they were in a hurry to get us moving we didn't have our order taken for atleast 10-15 minutes. We started with chips and salsa and my son said "it was the best salsa he's ever had". The chips were fresh, tasty and gluten free. I got a chorizo buritto and it was large, filled with beans and rice and great tasting. My son went with the chicken enchiladas which he devoured quickly. I believe my wife ordered their enchiladas. Overall, the food was great and flavorful, service wasn't the best and we felt rushed to leave. The kicker, and this may be due to the close proximity to Church St, is our bill was around $80 (which included two drinks). It's way to pricey for some chicken, rice and beans, etc.
