We were in Fair Hope for a couple of days. Ate there both mornings. Breakfast was great. Definitely recommend it.

Decided to finally try out Julwin's in downtown Fairhope for lunch. Decided on the Reuben after my waitress recommended that I try it. It was good, but was just a typical Rueben. It was very good, but I'm not sure that a Rueben sandwich can give me enough to get a full opinion. The French fries were amazing, BTW. Crispy and golden brown. The restaurant reminds me of a typical old school diner. Nothing fancy. The wait staff was very friendly, helpful and cordial. I need to try some other dishes before I can give a complete review, but I still have High expectations. Will return to try some different items from their menu. Not really complete on my assessment, but from everything that I have heard, and from my tasty Reuben, I will recommend. Recommended read more

Great Breakfast I do not give out many 5 star reviews but this restaurant deserves it. The wait staff is truly outstanding. They are friendly attentive and helpful. They keep your coffee cup full of coffee that is both FRESH & HOT. The pancakes are a must. If you like pancakes you will love this place. Hash browns are crispy and the eggs are cooked perfectly. All I can manage is a just a Huge WOW! Service is what you want, but so seldom get! Super friendly team of people here! The food... what can I say? YUMMY!!!! Being on Keto I have a tough time eating out, but this was the easiest choice ever! Thick cut bacon crispy and delicious and a seafood omelet. Just delicious with fresh crab & shrimp. If I had one small suggestion it would be to add a crab sauce or seafood hollandaise to top it off. The sample that my husband ordered was a lot of food! All cooked to perfection and delicious! We showed up past the Sunday crowd and what a treat! We were seated right away. Our server was attentive and super friendly. The atmosphere is nice and quiet, family friendly. And let me tell you, the food is absolutely delicious. You can tell it is all fresh and homemade. No freezer foods. The grits were soft and creamy. The biscuits are melt in your mouth. I had the country fried steak and for $9, it was a big steak with all the sides. My BF got the French toast with fresh strawberries and they did not skimp on the berries. Absolutely fantastic. We ordered a ton of things including the bacon, eggs, biscuits and gravy, and the shrimp and grits. Being from New Orleans, I'm a bit of a cynic trying Shrimp & Grits outside of NOLA, but I gotta say, it was simply wonderful. The flavor was rich and salty (in a good way) and in your face. I loved all of it. The gravy on the biscuits could've been lighter (it was a bit thick) but other than that we had an incredible experience. 10/10 read more

At first I thought this was tacky, then I realized it was quite smart, most consumers don't realize the cost of using credit at small businesses. The credit card fees add up! Went into breakfast with very high expectations as it seems everyone in town raves about this place. Nice greeting by staff and seated promptly. Waitress was very sweet and knowledgeable about the menu. Unfortunately when the food came around, I was left very disappointed. My scrambled eggs were overcooked and extremely dry. My Wife and I go to Fairhope to visit family. During our stay we go to Julwin's for breakfast every morning. Our last trip, we met our waitress Blair. My wife and I wound up at Julwin's because The Fairhope Inn and Restaurant is closed on Tuesday. It was Jan 7 when we had lunch there. My wife ordered Liver & Onions-I had Country Fried Steak. She was over the moon with how well the liver was prepared and my dish was wonderful. Then-she found a plastic covered twist tie in the onions about 4 bites in. She would not eat any more of her meal. I called the waiter over for him to see. We observed him telling another very tall man of the situation End of story-we paid full price for our lunch and will not go back to Julwin's Not sure who the tall man was-sure he was a employee of the restaurant. He was more interested in a young lady sitting across from us than what was going on at our table. Had originally decided to let it go, but was asked after church today about places to get Liver & Onions. Relayed my experience at Julwin's and was inspired to tell this story. read more
