I've come here several times. I try to come on a day when they have a special. Tuesdays there are different Seafood specials: $1 Shrimp that you can only order for dine in , crab legs, soft softshell crabs, snapper. Me and my friend ordered the $1 shrimp which are getting smaller. They were not cooked properly. We had the fried fish which were 2 nice size pieces if fish however it wasn't cooked enough. I requested that they not fry it too hard, but it could've been fried a little more. I did take away so I can just put it in my air fryer at home. Lemon pepper wings: a little too much lemon pepper and over cooked. Drink special: mango margarita. The drinks most times are good. I found out that they automatically do double shots in their drinks. It's on the menu I was told but I missed it. I'll pay attention next time. Is dark in there so you have to use your phone's light to see the menu. Hennessy punch was on but $24 for a drink is a bit much. Most times they always have something going on, karaoke on a Wednesday. They seem to have a great number of regulars so a lot of times you can barely get a seat. When I first started going to Julz, the food was delicious!! Now, not so much!! The food is EXTREMELY SALTY!!! It actually made my chest burn!! I had the salmon rolls. I have also tried different platters. Nothing changed. The sodium content is out of control. So out of control, you waste your money and can't finish your meal. Something definitely needs to change! This is like an old heads cookout and I mean that in the best way. Invite me anytime! Music was good, food was good, drinks were ok but strong, and the crowd was fun. And surprisingly, the service wasn't bad. They were busy but the wait wasn't crazy. The only downside is that there isn't a ton of seating for the size of the crowd. The food is good. The location is nice and spacious. This is where the old Platinum Grille was located, and they did a nice job with the new decor. I ordered a rum punch, and the bartender made it strong, so I had no complaints! The shrimp platter was only supposed to come with 6, and they served us 10! The cheesesteak rolls are just OK. The wrap they use for them is too thick, like a sandwich wrap instead of an egg roll wrap, but the flavor of the filling was on point. I REALLY enjoyed the Mango Habanero wings. The flavor was one of the best I've had, and the broccoli was seasoned very well. I'll definitely be back. Would love to check out a karaoke night. read more

I love the ambience here! They have something going on almost every night, live bands, open mic, etc. the staff was very nice & pleasant. It was open mic night and the artist were all great. Frist time here and I had a nice time. But before I went I looked up the place. To see what the place look like and if they service food. When I went on the website they have a lot of things going on. Julz was in a good location and plenty of FREE parking. They even have Security at the door. The place was really crowded. Not that many places to seat down. So a lot of people was standing up. I went for a birthday celebration. Their was a lot of January birthdays in the place even mine. The staff was very nice they was walking around taking orders so you can get a drink or food. They even have happy hours on Sunday. That is so awesome because I love a good happy hour. And on Sunday it Eagles day and some of the customer had on their Eagles gear. And win they mad a touch down everyone was screaming and singing the E* A*G*l*E*S song. Even the d j was even playing the song it. The place was really jump the dj was playing the right music. Standing or seating down you was dancing. I forgot to tell you about the food. I ordered a vegetarian stuff roll. The roll head broccoli, spinach, red, and green peppers wrapped with a side of fries. When I tell you is was so good wrap. I never had any thing like it. Baby the fries was also good they didn't even last I was eating them in my car. But someone in the back was a little heavy handed on the salt. The only thing my wrap could've use was some cheese and a good dipping sauce. It did come with a dipping sauce and Ketchup. I didn't care for the dipping sauce because it was made with mayonnaise. You should have a choice of a dipping sauces. The wrap was packed with a lot of vegetables about it was enough fries. It would have been nicer if it was too rolls with fries for the price. I believe the price was $12.00 or $14.00. They even ubereats, doordash and other ones. The place was nice and clean. I didn't give to the restroom. The cornbread was like the sticky cake style and the yams were ok. Nothing special about the yams but delicious, like i make! The French fries were brown and the cooking grease is dirty. My onion rings were brown as well. The manager came and said the fries were cut fresh and that's how they are cooked. We arrived there last night at about 8 PM. to celebrate a birthday. There were between 10-12 of us there. It was not crowded at all. The bar still had seats available, and there were several open tables. The DJ was definitely on point with the music for his crowd. The age range was 40 - 50 something. Our server, however, was all over the place. I asked for a drink menu and was told they didn't have one. I asked if they had flavored margaritas, and she told me. I ordered (by the way, drinks only come as doubles), and it took about 20 minutes for my drink to make it to me. After about an hour, I ordered a platter, and it took about an hour (and I'm being generous). There was an issue with the food. Apparently, the mac and cheese is popular, and there was a wait for it. The kitchen manager told us that it would be 15-20 minutes for the mac & cheese to come out of the oven. 45 minutes later, still no Mac & cheese. When we asked our server, she told us it's still in the oven. There ended up being a big issue over mac & cheese unnecessarily. After all of that, the food was just OK. All in all, if you just want to hear good music and a half-way decent drink, then Julz is your place. I won't be going back. read more

Waitress had a nasty attitude, female manager wanted to argue with me because of a mistake she made. So I contacted them to have alittle birthday celebration. (Mind you the event happens every month) so she said she was going to reach out to the promoters and get back to me. We had several text conversations and she said she was still waiting on the promoters to get back to her she offered another location that I didnt want. I went on ig and contacted the promoters myself based off the flyer she sent. Talked to promoters and boom we in there. This lady told me i owe her $500 from the DJ for her other spot mind you we never confirmed I asked her several questions she never responded to. If I waited for her there wouldn't have been a birthday. She called herself I guess trying to check me , nah Ms you have the right one on the wrong day. She called me at 5pm on the day of the party while I was setting up. Once I talked to party promoter who she claimed she was waiting to hear from there was no need to talk to her. Telling me I'm never having a party and getting an attitude instead of being apologetic for her mistake is insane. I wrote on my receipt as well as put my number in the male manager hand for the owner and haven't heard anything yet I'm guessing they trashed it. Oh and although it was a private event when we went to set up it was fine the moment I left oh y'all can't have all these tables even though we bought over 20 tickets. Some of our people were standing up , some just left and then finally the male manager gave us another table. People didn't get their food , people got food before other people my whole table food was messed up im guessing because of me. It was a disaster and to think I really liked this place but all the money we spent wasn't worth the unprofessionalism. Oh and after one of our guest left they said oh they forgot to pay can you get in contact with them. I could have been a jerk like them but God don't like ugly. We came in from out of town for an event and didn't get to eat before. So at 9:45 on a Wednesday night I'm googling local food places as we drive to the hotel to check in. There was Julz, open until 1 AM and only 10 mins from the hotel. I placed the online order before immediately. When we pulled up it turned out it was also a kareoke place and bar & I started to worry that maybe the online orders being open was an error, but the bouncer waved us in and security sent us allllll the way to the back to stand between the kitchen door and the kareoke stage, where a man in a flawless Michael Jackson costume was about to take the mic. We took the food back the hotel and it was excellent. The greens were tender and just the right level of spicy, the yams were not too sweet, the lamb was tender, the wings were delicious. Absolutely will order here again next time we are in Philly & in case you are also looking for good food on a weeknight after everywhere else is closed, YES Julz's kitchen is open & the food is fantastic. read more
