This is one of my favorite places. Parking: a private lot in the back, which is small and fills up full or the side street with metered parking. Atmosphere; very loud Service: I've been coming for years to this location and I've never had a bad server. Whether I've sat at the bar & at the tables upstairs, which I prefer because you do get a signal up there, If you are seated in the basement, know that the service is a little sketchy down there. I always get the Asian noodle salad with chicken I believe it is called and it is so delicious!!! The only thing is, I wish they would give you more noodles and a little more chicken. it's one of my favorites. The other thing that I love to get and I'm not sure if it's stillon the menu, is the catfish tenders. Oh I've also gone during happy hour. They have some pretty good deals. Their burgers are good. Overall, I always enjoy my experience with dining here and will continue to go back.

A cute and intimate spot with a cozy atmosphere. The food was absolutely amazing, and the service was just as impressive--friendly and attentive staff made the experience even better. The lamb chops are my favorite--perfectly cooked and full of flavor. Highly recommend!

Another fab summer of 2024 Alfresco-friendly dining, this time at the Chestnut Hill Grill. One of my favorite places to eat when I visit my family is Philly. It's still summer, but I love the cooler temperatures that usher in fall. I had a perfect day except for a breeze that kept taking my napkin off my lap. My menu choices: I had a glass of Prosecco with the Golden Beets Arugula Goat Cheese salad. I liked that the goat cheese was like a tot you could eat if you wanted, not all over the salad. Sometimes, I have a love-hate relationship with cheese. Finally, I didn't feel guilty about sharing Italian lemon cake I must comment on how pretty the annuals still look at the near end of summer; this lovely array made my alfresco dining experience lovely.

The hostess welcomed me with a smile and escorted me to a table along Germantown Ave. My partner and I enjoyed lunch on a beautiful sunny warm Thursday afternoon. I ordered the wings, he ordered the coconut shrimp, and we shared a side of fries. We each washed it down with a cold beer. The service was good. The food was good and we wouldn't mind returning to try another item on the menu that's served after 4pm.

We walked in hungry and excited to try someplace new in Chestnut Hill. We'd always driven by and seen happy customers on the outdoor seating area and decided that that would be us for the day! After looking at the extensive menu, we ordered a slew of snacks: coconut shrimp, wings and hummus to start as appetiser. The breading on the coconut shrimp was great, flakes of coconut with a crispy skin had a great *crunch* to it. The hummus was tasty and flavorful--it was on a bed of zucchini with olives and soaked with oil (yum!). The wings were only alright, accompanied with blue cheese dipping sauce. For the main courses, we ordered the chicken salad sandwich, the fried chicken crispy sandwich, caesar salad with salmon on top and the chicken parm. The chicken parm was good flavorful and would order again. Probably would not order the rest again. The chicken sandwich-I was not a fan of the mangos and slaw combo. The dressing/sauce was good but the chicken was also dry-it was more breading than anything. The fries were good--big, potatoey wedges. The Caesar dressing was very anchovy-y and the salmon was also dry. Our server was nice. However, the food took a long while for us to get. There was a big delay and our server had said it was because of a large party downstairs. It took us about 40 minutes to get our appetizers before we even got our entrees. Because we waited so long, we lost our appetites. We sat outside it was it had just rain so it was a good mix of humid and warm. The inside area is dark and intimate. They have an upstairs area with a bar and tables. The downstairs area was very wine-cellar/cave-esque almost like a basement. Another patron had told me to next time get the lamb chops--she travelled from New Jersey just for the lamb chops so any indication of how good it is that will likely be what we order next visit.

This is a cute restaurant grille conveniently connectted to a small boutique hotel. A friend of mine loves this place and always tells me I need to try. It's a great place for lunch. Not a ton of options but a variety nonetheless. I highly recommend the coconut shrimp. Very tasty. The Grilled Petite Lamb Chops with an arugula salad were good but SO SMALL. You only get three so definitely not worth the $19. You can skip those.

A visit to one of my all time favorites in the neighborhood did not disappoint! Plenty of outdoor seating let's you soak in a beautiful day in the shade. The draft list is even better than ever, with some stunningly great beers. Lunch treats on the recent trip included the chicken salad on a stunning raisin walnut bread and fries. The fries here are the bomb. The veggie panini was excellent with a thin crust and the slaw is no mayo, hint of Asian sweetness that is perfect on a sunny afternoon. Paired with a hazy IPA.

People always miss great dining experiences by skipping out on chestnut hill due to the location. This place is definitely worth the trip. It's in a quaint location and perfect spot to people watch. We enjoyed lunch outside and everything was fresh and came out quickly. The menu is a good variety of things for any type of eater. I'd recommend for lunch or dinner!

Such a cute little place! Dined here with a friend of mines and we had a great time. Our server was Ethan, he was nice, and made sure we had what we needed. We sat in the bar area because the seating was filled outside--I'd recommend making a reservation if you have the chance as this place is very small. We started out with the vegetarian chili nachos which were fantastic! Then we shared the catfish wrap and shrimp risotto. The wrap was FIRE!!! The shrimp risotto was good too, but a little bit in the heavier side of things so I couldn't finish it after having everything else. Topped the evening off with the caramel pecan peach pie which I'm almost sure I'll be having dreams about. I will definitely be coming back here again. Thanks Chestnut Grill!!

I love it here! I live super close and usually order the lamb burger because I already know how delicious it is. I decided to try something new when I went last night. We started with the nachos with veg chili. They were good and there were a lot of them but it wasn't your typical nachos appetizer set up where there are a ton of toppings. I ordered the shrimp risotto as my entree which was delicious. We got the toll house pie for dessert which was also really tasty. The service was great and they have an awesome outdoor dining setup!

We have lunched here three times. The food and service were great. Sitting on the porch on a sunny fall day is the best.

The server was great and attentive. The atmosphere was nice. We sat inside, but the outside was crowded on a beautiful night. The food was wonderful. I had the jerk chicken fajita. It isn't really the traditional jerk chicken, but it is still tasty, cooked perfectly with a good seasoning. The fajita was very good. My kid got the ground beef salad and ended up finishing the entire thing. Others at our table got fish tacos and enjoyed them also. The server came by several times, even on a very busy Friday night. I will definitely come back!

Food: pretty good. Atmosphere: fabulous. Service? Ah, well…read more.. If I hadn't stood by the kitchen waiting to find our server, and if at least two other employees hadn't asked whether I needed help, we still might not have our food. I try to be careful about leaving poor reviews. It's not always fair because things happen. I've been to El Poquito many times because it's within walking distance, has decent food, and a fantastic atmosphere. About 95% of the time, however, the service is either bad or outright horrendous. This last visit (May 2026): Two of the four of us arrived promptly at 6:45 and ordered chips and salsa. We waited 15-20 minutes for the chips, which seems like a long time--even during the busiest part of the evening--for scooping some chips into a bowl and spooning out some salsa (verde style, and tasty). But seriously, that's a long wait for such a basic order. The other two members of our party arrived around 7:05, and we ordered our meals around 7:15. To be fair, our server was very nice and attentive. He stopped by a few times with the assurance that "the food will be right out." Want to guess what happened next? If your answer was "nothing," you'd be spot on. Around 7:55, I went inside to find our server. Again, he was very nice. I stood near the ordering computer between the bar and the kitchen. Two different employees asked if they could help. I explained how long we had been waiting. One of them--who I think was the manager--disappeared into the kitchen with a "let me go see what's going on." I waited for her to come back with an "it will be right out," but, like our food, she never made it back out of the kitchen. Another waiter (also very nice) found our server, who said, "You don't have your food yet?" He then looked over at the table of three very hungry people (including one 10-year-old) and responded, "Fuck, really?" My reply, somewhat under my breath, was, "Yeah, really." Blah, blah, blah... eventually the food arrived. The manager apologized and removed some drinks from the bill.

Service like that always makes a difference and he made the experience feel really relaxed and welcoming. The space itself is cute and has a really nice vibe. They have a grass wall that makes a perfect photo backdrop, but just a heads up -- you'll need a larger table in front of it to sit there. If you're hoping to grab that spot for pictures, definitely come with a group of four or more. Another huge plus: free parking. If you know Philly, you know that alone is a win. It made getting there and leaving super easy. Making a reservation was also simple, and the crowd when we went was really diverse, which I always appreciate. Now the important part -- the food and drinks were great. I loved my drinks and everything we ordered hit the mark. One thing I really appreciated was the avocado toast, which was made with actual fresh avocado instead of one of those pre-made spreads a lot of places use. You can definitely taste the difference. Overall it was a really solid experience with good food, good drinks, great service, and a fun atmosphere. I'd absolutely come back.
