Pleasantly surprised by how delicious the Korean dishes are at Jumong Pocha. I consider myself a connoisseur of Donkatsu and this was among the best I've ever had, and that includes in Korea and Japan. Very flaky batter that tastes isn't heavy. Fries were also great and a nice touch senses this dish is typically served with rice. My wife, who is Korean, ordered a noodle soup dish with clams. She raved about how delicious it was and how authentic it was. She also mentioned that most Fort Lees noodle houses don't have this on their menu. The atmosphere is that of a Korean bar. So music is a bit loud and the place is filled with young 20 somethings. Also nice that they serve alcohol, including several Korean beers. Kass is my favorite among the list. What's ironic is that we've been dining regularly at the Chinese soup dumpling place next door for years and never thought to give Jumong Pocha a try. We'll definitely return again soon, now that we know. read more

Cute spot to come for some drinks and food! I love that there were so many booth for us to sit. It felt very private which I love. I also loved that the music was not so loud like some other pocha places. You can actually have a conversation here! We had the beef brisket with chives. This was delicious however the beef was definitely not brisket but some thinly sliced beef that was more like your regular bulgogi. This didn't bother us tho because it was really delicious We also ordered the fiery chicken and cheese and thought this was delicious as well. Very cheesy and the chicken had a nice spicy flavor. Service was good even though there was only one waitress tending to all the tables. I just wished they have some beer on tap. My second time here and came here for my friend's birthday on a Friday around 6:30pm. There was no line and got seated by one of the waiters. Parking is available in the building. Ended up ordering the army stew which was really good and wasn't too spicy, scallion chicken, egg omelette and dried squid and some sort of fish fillet jerky. And two rounds of the soju and 3 beer combo. Everything was delicious, especially the scallion chicken which came with a tasty sauce (two types of sauces mixed in). Only negatives: Place was kinda hot but they blasted the AC (bathroom was freezing) and the seating was uncomfortable for me which was like a bench with short back support but had built in cushions. Staff shortage? I would def come here again and would recommend anyone that wants that Pocha vibe. read more

Came in on a Friday evening with family around 5pm. There is a small garage below the restaurant, so parking was not a problem at all. There is a main dining area, but we were seated in a private room since our party was slightly larger than what could be accommodated in the main room. Both our servers were attentive and we did not wait long when we asked for anything we needed (utensils, napkins, drink refills, etc.). I would come back and order absolutely everything we ordered again! We ordered the Fried Dumplings, Chives Pancake, Potato Pancake, Corn Cheese, Beef Brisket w. Chives, Honey Butter Chicken, Steamed Pork, Grilled Pork Galbi, Spicy Rice Cakes w. Noodles, Seafood Ramen, and Pork Cutlet. It all tasted amazing, but if I had to choose just ONE thing that was my favorite, the Pork Cutlet was the winner. I came by here on a Friday night just to grab a quick bite with my friends before heading back home -- more so for the general experience and to compare to it the other pochas that we've tried. I LOVED how aesthetic it was!! The lights were so beautiful and I liked how well each booth was decorated. As it was a Friday night, it was pretty packed with people but the booths separated us away from the hustle and bustle of the rest of the pocha. I also appreciated that they had a button to push for help if we ever needed to get the attention of the waiter. We ended up only trying the vegetarian dishes to accommodate for our friend so that we could share the food. The portions were very large and enough for the 4 of us! The waitress just assumed we were done! They brought extra orders if sushi we didn't order but it wasn't on the bill either. Another server was very apologetic about the screw ups. Oh man, i like this pocha! There are two floors of seating here so it's pretty big. The downstairs was a little cold though. Very pocha feel When they gave me the menu and it was korean only, i expected only good korean food hah. I'm sure they have english menus upon request. The options are pretty ample and hits all the major pocha dishes. They also have the japaness tako wasabi! I was dying to try cheese buldak/chicken forever. I suck with spicy stuff but the chicken was flavorful enough for me to want to deal with the spiciness hah. I'd recc this spot and would come back again :) Prob the top 2 fave pocha spots so far in the fort lee/ridgefield/pal park area. They have pretty much no veggie dishes here btw. This is a review for their karaoke section. I had made a reservation a week in advance and secured the largest room. This is waaay bigger than anything you'll get in Ktown (and less of a hassle to get to). It's $5 pp/hr if you have four or more people. A few complaints though. The song book and controller were pretty much all in Korean. While there were some classic songs available, they really need to update the English section. They said the controller and book were being used in a different room and they only had one copy. If you are not in a Korean group, definitely reserve it in advance. It was a bit hard to navigate but they finally explained it to us. Additionally there's a service bell to ring to place orders and drinks. Ours unfortunately was broken so we had to keep walking out to the waitstaff. Overall it was a great experience, and I'm definitely coming back. The restaurant is amazing, but the karaoke section definitely needs a more TLC. read more

Went with family and got seated immediately by respectful workers. If you need anything, you just need to press the button on the wall and a worker will come by shortly. The food was very authentic to Korean culture and I would definitely recommend for taste alone but also recommend for the atmosphere. Karaoke section: it's literally a scam. he told us it was $40 for 2 hours and wouldn't let us pay until the end, at which point he asked for $59. when we asked why it was $19 more expensive than we were initially told, he said it was for our waters ($6), tax (even though we paid in cash), and tip. he said it was 15% tip, but when I calculated it, it was over 20% tip. mandatory tip is not legal and he literally did nothing to deserve tip other than to press a button to turn on the tv. the food at jumong is great though. We happened to come here by chance when Soup Dumpling Plus had too long of a wait. It was a beautiful surprise. Everything from the food to the decor was amazing. The booths and ambiance make you feel like you're really in Korea or Japan. The honey butter wings, scallion pancake, galbi, and fiery chicken with cheese dish. The wings were chewy on the inside yet crispy on the outside, perfectly cooked. I asked for the fiery chicken less spicy and they were able to accommodate. It was the perfect amount of spice and very flavorful. The galbi was super tender. The scallion pancake was also delicious. I typically like a crispier scallion pancake but this one had more of a bouncy chewy texture which was surprisingly good. Definitely will be coming back. read more

One of my personal favorites for pocha in the Bergen area. I think the food is on of the better options for pocha in the area and drink combos are reasonable. The ambience is really cool and laid back vibes. I personally like it because it's not always super crowded and loud. If you want the crowded and happening vibe, go to Soosanghan pocha, but if you want a nice place to grab food, have some drinks and catch up with friends, I love Jumong read more

Reincarnation of the original Jumong down in Ridgefield. The decor and vibe felt pretty much exactly the same. Food portion was good but the quality was somewhat hit and miss. The gizzard and buldak were solid, but the padak was unfortunately like popcorn chicken drenched too much sauce. Service was friendly and there's a call button at every booth. Drink options were pretty standard similar to most other pochas. Selection is pretty limited outside of the usual soju and beer. They don't really carry much beer choices outside of Hite and Coors either... Found out that they also have a karaoke setup next door when we were heading out, so may come back to check that out next time. Overall, a nice place to chill and get some drinks on around the neighborhood. Hope they make some improvements on their food and drink choices later on. read more

I'm a fan of pochas and this is a solid one. It's in the same building as soup dumplings plus so there's a small indoor parking lot and street parking available. English menus available for non-Koreans and all the staff spoke English. Just ring the bell at your table for swift service. Food was very good and quantity was hefty. I almost wanted to ask for more broth for the fish cake stew because it was jam packed with all kinds of fish cakes. The restaurant is very spacious so great for large groups. I was pretty excited to try this place out once I had seen pics and read the reviews. However, my first impression of stepping into the establishment was that this place was the vibe. But then a strong scent hit my face and it wasn't a lingering smell of delicious food, it was kind of an overpowering smell of some kind of fishy like sauce lol. We waited a few moments to be seated, it seemed pretty empty and under staffed for a Saturday night. We had ordered three dishes: cheese corn, pigs feet and the firey chicken. These dishes came out one after the other and it wasn't as warm as I would like it to be. The cheese corn is the best dish we had but the cheese got cold quick even if it was on a hot plate. The pigs feet was too saucey and not enough meat. You would need a side of rice for this. And the firey chicken was interesting. It wasn't really white meat chicken but hey. I ate it and it was pretty good and cheesy. It came with six rice balls. Overall, the meals are mediocre and the prices are pretty steep. Our waiter was attentive in the beginning when there weren't that many customers but towards the end, he kinda just skipped us and was more attentive to the table next to us. Sucks. read more

i've heard people say that pochas are overrated but i rly think it depends on who you're with, the food and the VIBES that being said, HERE IS another pocha place i recommend :) this came up on my yelp and it had 4.5 stars and the food looked so yummy in the pictures and so i HAD to try it. i would say this place isn't like other pochas, which are typically loud and lively with a young crowd. they sit u in ur own booth and it's generally a chill environment with lights WHICH ARE SO aesthetic we ordered the spicy tteokbokki with noodles which was pretty good. it came with fish cakes and an egg and cheese. 8/10. the next pic is the kimchi pancake which was also pretty good 8/10. i would say their fiery chicken (buldak) with cheese was probably my favorite. although i was somewhat dying from the spice, the flavoring of the chicken was really well done and paired well with the cheese. it also came with RICE BALLS which weren't spicy and helped balance out the spice :) 9/10. we also got cold noodles or naengmyun which was alright in my opinion, 6/10. ive lowkey had better (aka at duri pocha). they have drink combos and we got the soju and rice wine combo which was about $24 LMAO. definitely not cheap but again pocha is on the pricier side and jumong's prices were the typical pocha prices. one thing i do wanna say about this place is that they need to get more workers. our server (poor guy) WAS BY HIMSELF and we could tell he was just annoyed and wanted to go home. there was another table who came in after us and they left because no one was taking their order for awhile :/ idk if it was because we were there on a tuesday night? i really hope they're more staffed on weekends but one guy is definitely not enough. other than that, if u want to drink a little and eat some yummy food with friends, but prefer a quieter environment, i'd recommend this place!! read more

Worst customer service ever!!! We waited 50 mins and initially was told that it would be 30-40 mins. Our group went to check with the manager three times as we saw multiple groups left but we were not called, and we were the second on the waiting list. Then the manager blamed us for asking too many times, and started arguing with us with awful attitude. Even after we were seated, he still came to argue with us. I felt like I was back in Seoul I love this place it was Sunday night and I had no idea it would be in the plaza since everything else closes you see this brightly lit bar and enter a fun atmosphere with booths with call buttons just like in Korea! I'm mad at myself for not remembering exactly what I ordered but it was the Spicy seafood with stirfry udon noodles soo sooo good and enough for 2 to share...then we had the spicy chicken sliced breast with veggies and some of those sticky thick rice noodles...they do keep it warm and have little heaters on the tables so nothing gets cold. I really wish we brought a group of friends since its lively...I will come back I love the Korean hip hip playing really felt like I stepped out of the US and into the random pochas of Seoul.
