My husband and I came here for their restaurant week menu. My selection was French onion soup, crepe with crab, Duck Cassoulet & crème brûlée. French onion soup was rich in flavor with Gruyere slathered on top. It was as expected but it was the crepe with crab that I enjoyed much more. Although there were no chunks of crab, the crème fraiche was quite tasty. For our entree, Duck Cassoulet, i realized I would have preferred the other option of Bouillabaisse Vol-au-vent. I think this was a mere preference of choice as the Duck had no issues. My husband also ordered this and ate every bit of it. Our dessert was the crème brûlée but while I enjoyed it, the center was cold. The restaurant itself is small and condensed with tables tightly squeezed together. Service was very good and friendly. Love the ambiance of the restaurant. Service was overall good with a few hiccups. Between the appetizer and the duck service the gap in time was so long. The woman who was our server was nice but I felt had a slightly strange attitude. The soup they brought out in the beginning with the vanilla was super delicious and was a highlight. The duck confit was also very yummy and cooked perfectly. Unfortunately they did not put the Foie gras on the plate. However the whole meal was very fatty and rich so we didn't really need it. The duck presse was a very cool experience. Duck was cooked perfectly but was a bit chewy for my taste and the fat was a bit too thick. The gravy was yummy but a bit too salty. We went for Collingswood restaurant week. This was the first time we were there and it has a very cozy intimate feel. I almost forgot we were in Collingswood! The food was excellent, staff were friendly and I think the price for the restaurant week menu was reasonable. We got the French onion soup which had a thicker broth and plenty of melty cheese over it! The crab crepes were delicious, I wanted more than just one! My main meal was the duck and that literally fell off of the bone! My parents got the bouillabaisse which had plenty of seafood! We all got the crème brûlée which is always fantastic! I always wanted to try French food and my lovely lady took me here for birthday. I was unaware that French food was so mushroom forward. I am not a huge mushroom fan. We got the meal for two. To start there was a soup made with a squash. It was good, but a very small sample. The second was also a soup, a creamy mushroom soup. I actually was okay with these mushrooms because the soup was delicious. Third in the list was Escargo. A little adventurous for me, but they straight up tasted like mushrooms. I wasn't a fan but my lovely date loves mushrooms , so she enjoyed them. I did enjoy dipping bread in the butter forward sauce. They were de shelled and served on a spiral plate. The fourth was a peppercorn encrusted Tuna. It was very good, and the potato side was also really good. Fifth was the beef Wellington. You can't choose how you want it cooked because it's wrapped in pastry so it was a little overdone for her. It was good but was also encrusted with chopped mushrooms. Finally we shared the desserts and coffee. The cream brûlée was very good, and the others were very nice as well without being overly sweet. Overall, this place was really nice and she loved it, for me, there were far too many mushrooms dishes for me to enjoy everything. The waiter and service were excellent and they explained the dishes to us as they brought them out. My boyfriend and I went a couple weeks back to celebrate our anniversary. Overall a good experience, but also not quite worth the price in my opinion. Service/Location/Ambience: Top tier. Loved it. Super friendly and nice, very quick, and the decor is beautiful. Also located in a nice spot of Collingswood. Zero complaints. Appetizers: All beautifully plated, all just a little smaller than I wish they were. We ordered the escargot and the scallop ceviche. Escargot dish was quite nice, just needed salt. Scallop ceviche was underwhelming; admittedly could be my own fault as I was expecting the acid-forward, hispanic style of ceviche. This dish was very subtle in flavor, lightly sweet. Not bad, just not for me. They also gave us a complimentary mushroom truffle soup, which was easily the best of the 3 dishes. Again, I just wish there was more of it. Entrees: My boyfriend ordered the rabbit (vermouth-braised leg, maitake mushroom, fava beans, leeks, pappardelle pasta). He found it underwhelming, a bit too one-note. Personally I liked it a lot. I ordered the duck (seared half-breast, plums, mango, mango purée, English peas, glazed endive, seared foie gras). We both LOVED this dish. I think if I had any recommendations it would be that it's missing a carb component, but I just had the pasta from the rabbit dish. Is it worth $56? For me, maybe not, but I did very much enjoy it. Worth mentioning both entrees had decent sized portions. Dessert: Creme brulee. I was honestly disappointed in this one, the texture was very thick/heavy and the crisp on top was too thick/hard. My family and I went to this restaurant and we had a really great experience. We went there for the tasting menu which they have on Sundays. The food was astonishing and absolutely delicious. The ambiance really set the vibe and was very enjoyable, felt very upscale but not pretentious, more relaxed elegance. The service was really good and staff were very attentive. We saw another table who had put in a special order for the Pressed Duck (we were told it should be put in a week ahead of time) and was impressed with the presentation and will now look to schedule that for our next visit and yes, there will definitely be another visit soon! They are known for their duck service, a whole duck that is pan seared in front of you and served table side (just note you MUST order ahead). From the tables around us, this is a LARGE portion. The amuse-bouche was a velvety mushroom soup. We then got the crab spaghetti as an appetizer- fresh pasta, amazing depth of flavor. It was great. Can't rave enough about the duck three ways (if you still want duck but don't want to do the whole bird) which was pieces of a duck breast, seared foie gras, and duck pithivier (imagine a puff pastry savory ravioli). Canard au sang or canard à la presse is a specialty of Rouen and its creation attributed to an innkeeper from the city of Duclair. It consists of various parts of a duck served in a sauce of its blood and bone marrow, which is extracted by way of a press. It has been considered "the height of elegance." I was treated to a pre-birthday dinner of this wonderful dish not far from my home in South Jersey and it was wonderful. The amuse was a parsnip and truffle soup, perfectly balanced and delicious - it could have been a tad warmer but it was an amuse, not a bowl of soup. We ordered the gougeres with caramelized white chocolate foam, lemon zest and caviar and it was an amazing combination, kudos to Chef Cusack for this wonderfully unexpected and delightful flavor combination Then the main even started with our phenomenal tableside tour de force - Saverio. Saverio was amazing from start to finish - a very pleasant man exuding bonheur and possessed with wonderful joie de vivre, who added much to an already wonderful experience. Thank you Saverio! We started with a plate of duck confit, foie gras parfait, watercress salad, warm potato salad, purple mustard - this was PHENOMENAL and could easily have been dinner. The portion was very generous, the salad perfectly dressed and kissed with a sherry vinaigrette next to some sublime potatoes and one of the best legs of duck confit I have ever had. Crisp, light skin, tender juicy meat and all perfectly seasoned and cooked - amazing and not one drop of any fat or grease. Then came the Duck à la Presse served with seasonal accompaniments and duck presse jus. A whole Muscovy duck is marinated in red wine. The roasted duck was then presented and expertly carved tableside and cooked to medium-rare. While the breasts were cooking, the duck's sauce was made from its own natural juices by pressing the carcass in an antique French duck press. These juices were added to the pan with shallots and herbs, then flambéed together with cognac, and served with the duck breasts. Saverio provide tableside service with finesse and a smile - a pleasure to witness, while we were there; we were one of three tables who had ordered the canard à la presse and Saverio treated every table to an amazing experience. We finished with French Press coffee and crêpes Suzette, flambéed tableside with a generous amount of Grand Marnier. It was a fantastic night start to finish and we will definitely be back for the canard à la presse and to work our way through the delightful menu. I haven't eaten this well since Le Bec Fin was still open. Of course, that restaurant would blow away Yelp's five star rating, so the five stars here are given because there is no competition better. The small, seasonal and varying menu greets you at the white linen covered tables surrounded by comfortable chairs for lengthy and amicable dining. Once our orders were in and before the appetizers the waiter brought an amuse bouche of a rich thick, cold cantaloupe soup (one guest said there had to be mango involved.) The appetizers were generous, enough for two or, even, three or four to share. We still got four and feasted: a cheese plate, foie gras, gnocchi, snapper ceviche. We sampled -- I don't know the spices, but each was an icon of the dish. The only way you wouldn't like it is if you don't happen to prefer that kind of food. For our main course (see photos) we had monk fish, lamb, duck and escabeche. There was less sharing. The escabeche had a single piece of halibut, a large scallop and a piece of octopus, each perfectly done and exquisitely presented over fennel and an orange sauce. The duck came with a truffle sauce on the side, the richness of which I have not tasted before, not even at Le Bec Fin. Desert was beignets with a rich chocolate mouse, and creme brulee'. A small amount of sharing ensued. The espresso is the best I have had anywhere, bar none. Regular coffee came in a generous press and, on request, they heated milk for one of our friends to add to the coffee. We arrived at six and left at nine. Don't come with boring people. We had scintillating conversation about food and art and travels and other pleasures, since food this good does not stimulate the darkness that so often permeates ordinary conversation during an election year. If you are averse to food as art, exquisitely prepared, but in smaller portions than the chains and delivered slowly, with the expectation that you will be entertained by your conversation and wine (BYO), then you will not like this restaurant. Also you will not like it if you don't want to spend close to $100 per person, (after you add tip) though you could get away with less if you share an appetizer and purchase the less expensive entrees and skip desert. This was our second visit and we enjoyed it as much if not more this time around. It's very hard to find French restaurants anymore so I'm really glad we found this one. The menu has many tempting offerings which makes it hard to chose - these are the kind of problems to have in life! So instead of trying to pick a couple of appetizers we chose to order all four of them, plus one entree and share everything. All were very good to amazing. The Shrimp Ceviche fell into the good category. The Cavatelli, pasta with corn sauce, lump crab, zucchini & cherry tomatoes was very very good. The Frog Legs Provencal, herb crusted frog legs, "gigante" beans with red peppers and tomato, was outstanding. The beans added a fantastic level to the dish. The Escargot with sauce Bordelaise, royal trumpet mushrooms, fava beans and tarragon were the best snails we have ever tasted. They were totally different from the usual butter and garlic variety. The sauce alone was worth the price of admission! For our entree we shared a delicious Galette de Crabe, lump crab and shrimp mousse cake, truffle hollandaise, butter poached crayfish, petite salad. Amazing. The Staff are all enthusiastic, well informed and fun to talk to. Before tip, the bill came to around $130. So if you're in the mood for a delicious French meal, this is the place. Came here really excited to try the beef Wellington, as I've had it before at Gordon Ramsay's restaurants and it's one of the best things I've ever had. Unfortunately the Wellington here is not remotely close to that. It was bland and chewy, when it should be velvety. For the price charged it's a total disappointment. What a nice surprise! Esq was able to land a reservation for 4 people on the day of. This was quite a score as it seems this place is difficult to get into. The space is quite small but very cozy. They maximize the space, and you will be sitting relatively close to other diners (just an FYI). - Black Truffle Vichyssoise - subtle truffle flavor, heavier on the cream side. - Lobster Ravioli - the only underwhelming dish. We could have passed on it. - Chef Pierre Calmels' Escargot - tender and even my husband liked it. - Trio de Canard - it arrived a bit undercooked for our friend's liking, but they remedied the temperature. All good! - Boeuf Bourguignon - perfectly cooked and bursting with flavors. - La Pôchouse - the bass was cooked perfectly, the Aligoté sauce was delicate and beautiful. - Choucroute Garnie - the sauerkraut added a nice flavor complexity. We ordered shaved truffles for the table, and for $20, it was a steal. Our desserts were creamy and satisfying - exactly what you'd expect from a French restaurant. Vanilla pudding (but fancy). June BYOB is a really beautiful restaurant in the space that was formerly That's Amore. It sure is nice to have a French restaurant in Collingswood as there is a plethora of Italian restaurants. My sister in law is French and my three nieces live in France, I enjoy French food, so we were eager to try June BYOB. I really love French Bistro style food and June BYOB is not that, it is high end French cuisine. As stated before, the restaurant is beautiful inside with classic light fixtures and a cozy and intimate vibe. Service was excellent all night. We ordered the Trio de Canard and Deux Boeuf (Beef two ways). The duck was excellent and one of the trio was Confit which is one of our favorites. The beef was also excellent with incredible sauces. We of course left some room for dessert and that was also quite good. June BYOB is pricey but it is fine dining. Being a BYOB helps keep the price down. My sister wanted French food for her birthday so after some research I got really excited about June BYOB. We booked the reservation for my parents and my sister and I. The interior is cozy and really gorgeous inside. The silverware and China are beautiful. The host and waiters were extremely kind and accommodating pouring water and bringing the dishes to us. I ordered the beef Wellington and it was cooked to perfection. The pastry was flaky and the meat was medium rare. It's the hardest dish to make but the chef gets an A++ on this. I munched on my mom's plate of peaches with this delicious sauce and duck breast. The flavors went so well together. My sister got the scallops and there was this vegetable medley that was so so good. My dad got this fish dish and the texture was like a soufflé. It was all amazing For appetizers we opted for escargot and a cheese plate. I love cheeseboards and meat boards so I order them at every opportunity I get lol. They brought us two desserts : corn crème brûlée and This delicious fruit tart. If I can repeat another dish from this restaraunt it would be the tart. Understood how to best direct us and get us to final meals that we really enjoyed. Prior to the entrees though, we ordered escargot, which was super tender and earthy! We were excited to hit this place as was mom, so we made a reso for our group of 5 to take her for Mother's Day (scheduling after Mother's Day because trying to go out then is busy and can be dicey). They cancelled our reso due to a broken pipe. Okay, I understand, stuff happens. Rescheduled for a couple of weeks later with an offer to cover our dessert. +1 for service. We arrive for our 7:30 reso. Seated quickly. Gotta get some escargot as an app. I had some indecisiveness on whether to go with the Trio de Canard, or the Beef Wellington. Since the Wellington is for 2, two others at our table got it, and I didn't think I could coordinate it with any of the remaining three; I went for the duck. Almost immediately after ordering, someone said they'd go for the Wellington. Within about two minutes, I caught our waiter and asked if we could change our order (we both initially ordered the duck), and he said "no, it's already in". Okay, that was quick, and I was surprised he wouldn't accommodate the change in any case. Oh well, duck it is, shouldn't be a problem. Escargot came in a reasonable timeframe with nice presentation and everyone liked it. We went through that and app plates were cleared. We waited for our main course. and waited. During the wait, we saw the chef working the duck press for people despite it being listed as broken on their website. So he's either working a broken press, or the website wasn't accurate. and we waited. and waited. The waiter only came up to us once when he saw my wife looking at her phone. It was insinuated that we were waiting so long because the chef was the only one who could operate the duck press. So I guess those people are better than us and get their priority dinner while we wait. and wait. Our entrees finally came somewhere around 9:30-10:00pm. So while the waiter couldn't change my order because it was "already in", and hence prep for the dish is presumably already in process, apparently then it takes somewhere in the range of 1.5 hours from there. The extended prep time didn't help, however. I tasted the Wellington off my wife; it was bland and the pastry wrap was mushy and didn't have that nice crisp flake that it should. Three of us got the Trio de Canard. Trios for a trio. My duck leg was good and had a nice confit quality to it. The breast, however, was chewy and tough. While I enjoyed the leg, I couldn't eat the tough, chewy breast and left that piece on my plate. More Wellington was shared with me, and an extended sample size revealed it was unevenly cooked. They covered dessert as promised, and we ordered a variety of different things to share. Consensus is the desserts were very good. The owner came to our table and we chatted for a bit; she was friendly and personable. We had an uneven and mediocre dinner. Underwhelmed. read more

I've been to June twice and I've left happy both times. As another review says, it's a really beautiful restaurant. Of course, there were minor flaws with some dishes/service here and there, but my overall takeaway is that the food is flavorful (more so than anything else I've found in Jersey!) and the team is professional. I would definitely recommend their "Canard a la Presse Voyage" experience to anyone and my fingers are crossed that they will have more special events in the future! read more

Absolutely delightful experience! When I asked about dairy & soy intolerances, it was revealed to me that soy oil is used. I thought I was going to be turned away, but the chef accommodated and created magic out of thin air. Our original plan was to go for Tableside Canard à la Presse Voyage but the timing did not work out. However, we got to observe a neighboring table while we enjoyed our own duck dishes. Every part of our dishes were thoughtfully out together. We got different amuse-bouche to accommodate for my food intolerances, the modified arctic char appetizer was smooth and flavorful. The inclusion of the salmon roe and sturgeon eggs interacted with the arctic char beautifully and the radish and greens added crisp textures that balanced the smoothness. I also noted fennel, but I didn't ask to be sure. My husband's Trio de Canard is the famously delicious dish: he enjoyed every bite and cleaned the plate. Our waitress, Nalini told him to act like it was not good so I won't get jealous. (She's hilarious and we were so lucky to witness the way she dances to her description of all the dishes.) My duck dish was cooked to medium rare perfection, smelled and tasted of truffle, which I love. They were topped by cherries resembling dried but rehydrated cherries. The potatoes are prepared with a fleshy mushroom (was it oyster mushroom?) and the oil seems to be peanuty, but I didn't ask. I simply loved the texture and flavor combination. We are in this part of the country for a visit to Philadelphia so we took an Uber to Collingswood, NJ - and it was so worth the trip! read more

This is my favorite restaurant in Collingswood/Haddonfield area, by far. Recently celebrated my birthday with my fiancé for our 4th trip to this spot in a little over a year. The experience is always top notch. It's a small restaurant but the ambiance makes for a great date night or dinner with close friends. The service is always on point and the food blows me away every time. We enjoyed the Tableside Canard à la Presse Voyage for the first time, such a cool experience. Check Richard prepared the duck tableside and was extremely nice. Made us feel like we had known him for years, super down to earth guy. There's plenty of usual fare options in town (italian/mexican ect.) but if you want to mix it up and enjoy a truly special experience, give this place a try. read more

My friends raved about this French bistro in the heart of BYOB Collingswood. We were so excited to try it. However, the evening started out badly when our server told us that they didn't serve any beverages but water. Since two of us four people at the table didn't drink wine, we had to walk down the street to get diet sodas at the WaWa or go thirsty. All other BYOBs at least have some non-alcoholic drinks for the non-alcoholics. The French onion soup was nothing like French onion soup. No Gruyère, no soaked bread, and no flavor. The escargot were terrible and the cheese plate has 3 soft Bries. What cheese plate has the same 3 cheeses on it. All 3 tasted strange and we barely touched it. The entrees were underwhelming and tasteless. Desserts were overly sweet. The creme brûlée was too soft and lacked the vanilla flavor you expect from a French restaurant that was supposed to be top notch. We were "raving" mad at the bill for such a terrible meal. The chef told us that June is one of 3 restaurants on the east coast with pressed duck due to the rarity of the vintage press. They cook and press duck right in front of you- super fun. Came to celebrate my birthday, and left a bit disappointed. The ambiance is nice, and the service was pretty good, but the food was let down. We each had the four course prix fix menu, which started off with a small parsnip and hazelnut soup. This tasted pretty good, but should have been served a little hotter. More important, the serving size was much too small. Maybe 1/4 cup? This was followed by gnocchi with mushrooms. The mushrooms were delicious, but the gnocchi were starchy and gummy. For the main course, I had the Beef Wellington (which was hard to cut, sinewy and chewy), and my wife had the lobster dish (which was a strange soupy mix with bits of lobster on top of a soggy piece of toast). The evening wrapped with the crème brûlée being brought with a lit candle (by a bus boy I think) and dropped unceremoniously on the table. That was nearly as offensive as the crème soup I was presented with. The custard was not at all set. The waiter came by, apologized that this was the last one for the night and got me a piece of cake. Good, but not what I wanted. So, not sure how quickly I'll be coming back. Ok, so I know everything in your life is BYOB right now because of coronavirus and we likely won't be back in restaurants until June... But, do not miss this opportunity to support this local business! I had this place on my list before the Rona hit, and this virus isn't going to stop me from doing my favorite thing: trying out new restaurants and telling the world about them. June BYOB it's having so much fun (I hope?) and reinventing themselves every week of this quarantine and it's giving me a lot to look forward to. One week, $5 pasta, another week- $5 sandwiches (and then $3 sandwiches!), another week it's whole chicken dinners, then French Asian fusion (duck dumplings!), then cook at home dinners, and the week that got me - 3 course Easter Dinner for 2 for $50 and 3 course Passover Dinner for 2 for $50 (that's cheaper than Forsythia's $70 dinner and Pumpkin's $60 dinner for 2). I had a Zoom Seder and a Zoom Easter and both looked so good, I couldn't choose! To be clear, I'm just one person, so do you really think I ordered dinner for 4 people in 1 day for 2 holidays to sit in front of a screen for a total of 7 hours, the leftovers of which I would continue to eat for the next 5 days (and counting)? Did Carole Baskin kill her husband? The answer to both is undoubtedly yes. I saw the menu on Instagram, emailed them to reserve, they confirmed a pickup time, I paid on venmo, picked it up through a window, (everyone was wearing masks and gloves) and the chef even came to the window to give me reheating instructions. Strange times we're living in. I got (for Passover) matzoh ball soup, the thickest juiciest brisket I've ever had (sorry to all of my friend's brisket I've ever had), grilled veggies (asparagus and cauliflower) and potatoes, and (for Easter) rich lobster bisque, the tenderest lamb with jus, with cranberry sauce that I'm gonna make gobblerish sandwiches with all next week, and four (4) chocolate pot de cremes which are so rich, I think I'll call it eight (8) pot de cremes. Being home alone in quarantine for holidays is sad and weird but these meals gave me something to look forward to all week (and leftovers I'm still enjoying for another week). They are taking pickup and delivery orders through caviar too. Thank you for being open for takeout and for being flexible and creative in these weird times. Awesome dinner at June tonight for our 50th wedding anniversary! We had the onion soup which was fantastic as well as the special truffle risotto which was the best ever! Our entree was the beef Wellington for 2 which was amazing. Best cream brûlée we ever had anywhere in our travels throughout France. Thanks Richard for the complementary escargot and cheese plate! Let me start with I have never been so conflicted by a restaurant experience. The food was delicious and the service was great. That being said, the problem was we got the 5 course chef sampler for $100 per person and the portion sizes were comically small. In total we spent $250 and left still very hungry. We expected somewhat smaller portions with a sampler menu but to leave hungry after spending that much is crazy. read more

Excellent food. Great service. June is the only French restaurant in a sea of pseudo Italian restaurants in South Jersey.

Our early Valentines dinner left much to be desired despite a promising atmosphere and attentive as the dishes were lackluster. The Dover sole appetizer was drowned in a cream sauce masking the flavors of the fish. The escargot was a disappointment, with a broth that was missing the advertised ingredients. The entrees were excessively salty and lacked promised vegetables. Even the lobster soufflé which was supposed to be a highlight was disappointingly salty and lacked any lobster pieces. We were so dissatisfied that we refused for the half eaten lobster soufflé to be wrapped up. The other entree was the lamb shank which tasted like overly salted meat in gravy with 2 partial pieces of a half potato and polenta. While the service and atmosphere were commendable the price paid for the Valentines dinner by the subpar quality of the food. PS. I am not sure if the main chef worked this evening. read more

June BYOB, with its intimate, simply outfitted space and staff that treats you like family, feels like a nostalgic throwback to the Passyunk BYOB scene of old, yet the menu and presentation of the food is wonderfully-executed, lovely, and fresh. I've sat on this review for a bit because all I really want to say is: come to June BYOB if you can. We loved the trio of duck, which features a really lovely medley of duck cooked in all different forms, and the scallop vol au vent, basically a delicate seafood stew in puff pastry, was really unique and delicious - I could have eaten one all by myself. The sweetbread tagliatelle was not what we expected, but we were quickly won over by the medley of expertly-melded flavors. The evening's special branzino, which came stuffed with crab, was excellent as well. Chef Richard Cusack came around and chatted with all the tables, and we really enjoyed hearing about the behind-the-scenes process, like how he created a bunch of duck dishes (duck à l'orange, trio of duck, duck cassoulet) to use up all the different parts. Ricky, our waiter, is a true gem of a human being - he was friendly, attentive, conversational, and incredibly welcoming. The prices are, in my mind, reasonable for what you receive (~$50pp). Everything we ordered was easily shareable, and I think that's how I'd recommend you dine at June, because everyone will want to try as many different bites as they can of Cusack's cooking. read more

I preface this by saying I see too many bad reviews of this absolute French institution. If you haven't got the pallet please stay away, no one wants to hear you cry about perfectly cooked duck, just because you eat it a few times a year, or about little refusals to move standards so you can have you're burger king experience under the roof of an artist. Now for the good part! Just Chef Cusack once again dazzled every tastebud my gullet could muster. First course I had the celebration weekend oysters and shell fish(he was actually 86 on this dish and still managed to pull it together for me) and it was a direct hit to my soul. Next course was the stuffed roasted Jersey tomato, which I devoured at the speed of light. (Sorry no time for a photo) Enough said. Then the cavatelli arrived, smothered in sweet crab meat and corn, a complete treat to the senses. Next and final course( I had no room for dessert on the outing) was the Pulet. Smothered in a perfect amount or ratatouille and tarragon, this dish cried rustic and delivered on all fronts. It was fresh light and all the components were cooked perfectly. I got a chance to catch up with Chef Cusack out back after my meal. His no frills, upscale, classic, yet no pretentious attitude reverberates even outside of the kitchen. He's down to earth enough that he gifted me a wheel of cheese and takes the craft seriously enough that he believes in shooting people straight, and championing his chefs. When I told him of the love I have fore Joel Robuchons pomme purée, he replied ,"hey my guy does that!" Automatically summoning one of his counter parts (only three of them in the kitchen) and bring him into the fold of the conversation. He refuses to compromise as well. When I told him he could raise his prices and I would still eat here, he very tactfully told me he wouldn't do that. His integrity and craftsmanship run deep, cutting out a river bed for he and his kitchens creativity to flow. The three of them along with the other staff have time and time displayed the makings of a future Michelin unit. I can't wait for the next experience here at June. read more

I think this will be my new favorite restaurant in Philly! The menu is quite small but I'm confident that each item is superb. We tried the duck trio, pigeon and frog legs appetizer. If you favor duck like I do, you'll love the trio of duck. It's a fabulous combination of oh-so-tender duck breast, foie gras, and duck ravioli. Everything was delicious, all the flavors were on point, the meats were tender. I especially love restaurants that pay attention to detail, each aspect of the dish was made with intention. This lovely restaurant is set in an intimidate atmosphere, complete with white table cloths and attentive waiters with table crumb scrapers. The menu changes every 2 weeks-ish. I can't wait to come back and try more things! Definitely make reservations ahead of time, it's such a small space, they can definitely fill up fast. Like many restaurants, June is BYOB! But if you forgot your wine like we did during our visit, there's a liquor store only 3 blocks away! It's also in a great location with lots of bars near by, if your occasion calls for more alcohol! read more

Such a great addition to Collingswood and the surrounding area. My husband and I wanted to have a proper first date after our wedding and June was an easy decision. We love French food and work in an industry that requires us to be very immersed in French cuisine, so we were excited to get a taste of this modern take. The escargot was really interesting and delicious! Not so salty and buttery as it customarily is. It was served with a really nice broth - we dipped our table bread in the leftover broth. I had the beef and my husband had the branzino filet. Both were delicious and perfectly prepared. We devoured our meals, without leaving much of a trace behind on the plates. I always save room for dessert, especially at French restaurants. My husband opted for the chocolate cake and I ordered the crème brûlée and coffee. They only offer a French press, so we had a bit more coffee than we needed but it was a really nice flavor and aroma. The crème brûlée was perfection, but the chocolate cake was a bit on the dry side. The entrees were so unique, I had high expectations for dessert so I was slightly disappointed. Hopefully in time they can hire a proper French pastry chef and churn out some equally beautiful and creative desserts. read more

It was cold as Hell outside (13 degrees) when we were there last night but it was warm in every sense inside. The hostess was very nice and friendly and our waitress was also very nice, friendly, attentive and did a great job. The atmosphere was wonderful and our overall experience was wonderful. The restaurant was not small at all, it was perfect and they even had a nice little sitting area with a fireplace which of course was needed last night with the severe temperature outside. Our food was very good and I REALLY enjoyed the pork chop entree I ordered. The escargot appetizer was also very good too! read more
