Great little diner for breakfast. Some friends and I had been camping the previous two days and were happy to have something that wasn't cooked on a small camp stove. Ambiance: I don't normally include this in my Yelp reviews, but it has that classic diner feel with all sorts of funny signs and a ton of yardsticks up on the walls. Nice, cozy environment. Parking: easy, plenty of it in a lot out front. Service: note that if you have more than 6 people, it will probably be a decent wait considering that the place probably can't seat more than 40 or so around several small tables. Waitresses are friendly and happy to chat if you care to. Food: the portions are quite large for the price, particularly the pancakes, which can easily measure a foot or so in diameter - one is enough for most people. I got a three-egg omelette with chorizo (recommend that you get it mixed in), country fries, and whole wheat toast. The omelette was excellent, well-seasoned, and of a great consistency. Potatoes were kind of bland, but that's not that uncommon. Good crisp outer shell with soft insides. Toast is toast. They have a good in-house hot sauce that they sell - I was told by several friends that it was comparable to Taco Bell's hot sauce. Hello, We found this place thanks to Yelp : ) and it was good for breakfast. The waitresses were very nice, but on Saturday morning (early in June) the service was very slow. The place was full, there was a line outside, and it seems they only had one waitress... not sure if it is always like that, or if they were shorthanded that day... If that happens to you and nobody comes to greet you, ensure to write down your name in a list they have outside, right next to the door. I understand this kind of stuff happens, but it would be nice if they put a note on top of the 'wait to be seated' sign, I am pretty sure some more people arrived and wrote their names on the list before ours, while we were inside the restaurant trying to get somebody' attention. : ( **their portions are very big. I was not very hungry and I liked the fact that they have smaller portions at a lower price. read more

Very small. Very friendly. Solid spot for breakfast and lunch. My only complaint is that they stop serving breakfast at 11:00 a.m., at which time they switch to their lunch menu. I understand the tradeoff forced by a small kitchen. If you serve both breakfast and lunch all day you'll have to offer fewer menu items. Unfortunately, I'm an anytime is breakfast time sort of guy. That said, I realize this is a personal bias which shouldn't determine a star rating. The restaurant is housed in a log cabin. The dining room is even smaller than I first expected and I was expecting it to be small. There can be waits, which can be an inconvenience. A signup sheet to place your name on the waiting list is posted out front. The décor can be described as early yard stick, a unusual decorative style to say the least. Promotional yard sticks are posted on the walls and hung from the ceiling, apparently the result of an early low cost decorative choice that eventually transformed into a steady stream of yard stick donations from customers. Unique and fun. The food is good. A mostly classic diner menu. We ordered a couple different burgers, catfish, and two kids meals on a recent visit. All were well received, some more than others. Prices are generally reasonable for a touristy town, but some menu items might be considered a bit pricey for a small town. For example, a basic burger does not come with fries, requiring a $2.50 add on. Kids meals are also priced on the high side of normal. Still fine overall for the area. I suggest you give June's a try. read more

If you are traveling through Arizona, taking the 260 or getting off the 277 you notice something in Heber. A cottage like building welcoming you in for a break from the road. As you walk in, it is very welcoming kind of visiting your favorite Aunt or Grandma. You get a hello, how are ya?... You will immediately get seated and look around to adore there Diner decor. Iced Tea and coffee was ordered while we scan the menu. ORDER UP! -- French Toast and Biscuits and Gravy, please. This breakfast fuels us with plenty powdered sugar, nice slice of sausages and creamy gravy all ova dem biscuits. The biscuits were made to order. read more

Before I get to my review, I feel I should mention that what my wife and I ordered was the special, but clearly not the specialty, of June's that day. It was unabashedly awful, but I think people may have more luck with the stuff that June's is known for, namely the breakfasts. So, read this as a cautionary tale against the specific items we ordered and not so much a reflection of the diner as a whole. What we ordered was the fish and chips and the fish tacos. Both were largely fried affairs, and this is exactly where June's faltered. The fish in each of the meals was fried to death in oil that was way, way too hot. The result was a very hard, very burned tasting shell on the outside and dried out fish on the inside. Any semblance of cod was overwhelmed by that old oil flavor permeating the outside. The same thing applies to the hush puppies and the french fries. Everything was just so greasy and so overcooked that neither of us finished our meals. The solution to these problems is simple: change the oil, lower the heat. If they did that, I think the food could have been decent. I could tell the fish was above average (at least before they fried it into oblivion) and the hush puppies had a nice spice palette going on. So maybe, maybe, it was on off day or a new cook or something. I don't know. I am willing to try June's again, but I will be avoiding the fried foods. I recommend you do the same. read more

We always plan to stop here on our way from the Phoenix area to the White Mountains. This is a small coffee shop. Everything seems to be made from scratch ...including great pies. The only exception to this that I know of is the corned beef hash that comes out of a a can. (UGH!) In addition to the excellent food is the fast and pleasant service. This is a keeper! read more

Cute little diner with a wide variety of old school menu items. I was so excited to eat here on a rainy day during a long travel day. The malt was delicious but the food-featured special "Colorado chili" and turkey melt left a little to be desired. Chili was cold and melt was dry. Server warmed up but didn't feel like she was open to any questions after my husband asked and she walked away assuming he wanted the item he asked about. Might pass this place up next time. Underwhelming experience. Spending a few months in the mountains and there are few dining options here. We had a very friendly and efficient server. Not too busy during lunch hour but the kitchen is very slow. I think one order at a time is prepared. Very disappointed in my salad as it was iceberg lettuce and the dressing was from a package. The sandwiches were ok - nothing special. Lots of wall clutter with patriotic and sarcastic signs. Could definitely use a makeover. Since I'm in Heber for 2 months, I may stop in again for a milkshake. read more

Cute little cafe! Loved the decor and the wall signs. Service was excellent and friendly. Food was delicious! Our faves were the French toast, hash browns, and biscuits and gravy. The chicken and fries were yummy too. I'm picky with the taste of water and their water tasted great. We'll definitely come back to try more. We recently took a "baby moon" in Kohls Ranch. While we were out there we stopped by this beautiful little cafe for lunch. I am very very picky about where i eat and often find myself disappointed, that was not the case at June's I was extremely Satisfied! The small popular location is easy to enter and exit. The staff was extremely friendly and we were quickly taken care of and served! The food was absolutely delicious the bread was perfectly toasted and the cheese was melted but not too melted. And my wifes club was so good she almost finished the whole thing! On the walls they have beautiful decore and a lot of funny sayings! My favorite was "Never trust a skinny cook" We will definitely be stopping here in the future and we will recommend to our friends! read more

The place is really small and really packed on the days it's open. Be ready for a wait for a table most of the time. Cool little diner with comfort foods. You can order online for pickup so that makes it nice. I've tried several different items. The club with fries is by far my favorite thing to order. I'm not a big French fry eater but definitely enjoy the few I'll eat with my sandwich. The location is where the Hwy 260 & 277 meet. It makes for a great place not only for locals but also truckers and travelers alike to stop in for a bite to eat. They also offer a small outside eating area. The prices are average for the area. If you're in the Heber-Overgaard, AZ area, this is one place I'd recommend to stop in at. Just be ready for a wait. The people working there treat you like family even when it's hectic trying to get people seated and orders taken and out to customers. Something to take into consideration is, any restaurant in such a small town runs into supply chain issues and it often takes a bit longer to get deliveries. June's has done really well getting items to prepare the foods offered on their menu. read more

It seems their take out customers are more important than the restaurant customers because we saw dozens of take out orders going out and very few in restaurant orders and the restaurant was full. Nice workers except for the owner? and so many people were there the food must be good, but after an hour and a half I canceled my order and settled on a "quick" piece of pie and even that took 10 minutes. read more

Best homemade apple pie I've tasted in years! Service was friendly and efficient. Everything we ordered was excellent. Son liked his cheeseburger, daughter inhaled her corn dog (crunchy on the outside, moist and tender inside), husband cleared his taco salad and my catfish was seasoned and crisp to perfection. On our way back to Phoenix we stopped at this little gem, we were all very happy we did. I ordered a chili omelet with homefries and a biscuit. The biscuit was extremely fluffy and delicious. The chili omelot was very tasty as well. They had smaller sized meals on their menu as well as the generous portioned full sized meals.
