Went because of all the great reviews and ratings but was not impressed with the food. The pad thai was below average. The Crispy Egg Rolls are a take on egg rolls that I hadn't experienced before. The Pho was the best thing we got! Service was friendly, fast and helpful! They have a wide variety on the menu. The concept is small, not a lot of tables and you can hear every conversation occurring in the restaurant! Just recently opened in Chanhassen, MN! The restaurant is small but very cute and neat! They served variety of southeast Asian food which is awesome and the food is hella delicious :D There's parking available making it very convenience. Their customer services are phenomenal!! Was so hungry for Pad Thai/ Beef w/broccoli and thought we would try Jungle Kitchen as they can do gluten free. Did not ask what level of heat do we thought normal. Pad Thai had no heat and had an odd sweet tomato taste with a scant amount of protein otherwise all noodles. Beef had no taste/flavor and appeared boiled (odd coloring) and no heat. read more

Ordered orange chicken using foodsby for work lunch, the chicken tastes days old like warm ups from a bad Chinese restaurant, so disappointed, thought I would try them but never again. Great fresh food from a clearly passionate family. The service was phenomenal. We were there with our 2 and 4 year old and our 2 year old was being, well, terrible... the owners put up with him and helped try and help distract him. Food was good and fresh. We ordered chicken and broccoli for the kids. I had yellow curry chicken and my wife had Thai basil chicken fried rice. We also split egg rolls. The food was hot and fresh with vegetables that looked great. Flavors were ok but nothing elaborate. The only reason I am not giving a 5 star review is the lack of anything exceptional. No menu items jump off the page as extraordinarily interesting. Also, the menu has a mix of Thai and southeast Asian influenced items but also some generic "Chinese takeout" items like orange chicken. I just don't know what the vibe is supposed to be. I'd be more excited if the cuisine was more specific and matched the family atmosphere I received from the owners. But I guess a menu with something for everyone has its place too. Recently discovered this hidden jewel in Chanhassen. Very nice Host and excellent food. We ordered for our new year get together. The host sat with us and recommended the items based on the group size. Everything was tasty, ample quantity and the owner even added some appetizers on his own !!! Everyone loved the food. This vietnamese restaurant is located off Lake dr Chanhassen MN 55317. My first impressions of this restaurant is the service was very fast. The pricing was average and the food was alright. When my gf and I were here Sunday we ordered potstickers which tasted way better than Leeann Chins also located in Chanhassen. We than ordered orange chicken with white rice which was for myself and the mild curry with bell peppers and onions which was my girlfriends. My impressions of the orange chicken was I got half way through it withought getting acid reflux like most oriental vietnamese places. The dish itself was sweet with a little heat which was perfect and a housemade orange sauce. My girlfriends Curry was far better though in every way. It had sweet zesty heat and actually if I would have known that it was really delicious I would have gotten the same curry dish over the orange chicken dish. This says a lot, so my final thoughts of this place are if you come through Chanhassen and pass Total Wine and Sprites please swing by and check this cute little family restaurant out its definitely worth it. read more

Orange chicken was excellent! The pineapple curry was good but light on the spice which I'm sure for the avg Minnesotan preferred. They had a high chair and was courteous to our messy 1 year old. The dining area is small but really clean. Oh and we ordered the sticky mango rice which refreshing but I would have enjoyed a little more coconut sauce. Let's start with the good: This is a small, family owned, very casual restaurant with attentive service and food that comes out hot from the kitchen. The portions are large and the prices are reasonable. These types of independent restaurants are worth supporting. Now the not so good: The food is ok. Nothing special. I spoke to Thorn, a manager/cook/owner for a school project and I can now confidently say that it's my favorite local restaurant. It's Pan-Asian food with a lot of Cambodian influences. The portions are generous. My favorite dish from Jungle Kitchen is the "Sticky Rice with Coconut Ice Cream." It's aesthetically unusual, with a warm black sticky-rice base, refreshing coconut ice cream and then chopped peanuts sprinkled on top. This afternoon I decided to try Jungle Kitchen. A small place tucked into the corner of a strip mall. I was quickly seated and placed my order for the Pho Steak Combination including thin cut steak, meatballs, tendon and tripe. The dish arrived quickly with the usual sides of basil, jalepeno, lime, bean sprouts and sauces. It was delicious my only complaint and the the reason for 4 stars of 5 is the thin sliced beef was very overcooked. To the point while even in the broth it was nearly crunchy. I find their food rather flavorless and I love Thai food but I expect it to have robust flavor and both times we've done jungle kitchen it just wasn't there. Pretty good! We ordered yellow and coconut curries, as well as orange chicken, egg rolls, and cream cheese wontons. The curries both were about half as spicy as they should be (and I'm kind of a heat wimp) which is semi crucial to a positive Thai experience. There was no heat options while ordering. Unusually the yellow curry tasted more like coconuts than the coconut curry, not sure if this was an order mix up, or just an coincidence. The orange chicken was great! Perfect flavors and tasted much "healthier" than any orange chicken entree I've ordered. The cream cheese wontons were pretty good, they were a pit pale and lifeless, but tasted good. The egg rolls were a huge disappointment and I witnessed 2 egg rolls get thrown away, which is a first in my life. The two options were PORK, and VEGETARIAN, we ordered pork. The outer layer lacked crunch, and the inside was pretty much just a pork flavored pate paste that resembled wet cat food, and there weren't really any veggies to speak of. I will try the vegetarian style next time, but I think the item needs to go back to the drawing board, sorry! read more

Compared to other Asian restaurants that I have tried since moving to MN this is a great place. Nice flavor and a good variety. They can also customize things to your liking, I like my stuff a bit spicy and they can accommodate that. Its tucked in a little strip mall but those are usually the good ethnic restaurants.
