    Potato corn dog
    Rebecca H.

I was craving Korean street food so I stopped by here. The fried chicken was delicious. It was super crispy and juicy. The potato corn dog was also delicious. The mozzarella and hot dog inside was a great combo. The spicy rice cake wasn't as good though. It didn't taste fresh. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place has a casual vibe and the service was good.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

I stopped in try Junie's the other day. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The store was clean.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]K-Pop on tvs.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Staff greeted me upon entry. They have a lot of different options from corn dogs, to sandwiches, to seafood bags. I went with the Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich. The breast is huge. I got medium spice but it was a bit spicy for me. The breast was fried and spicy. The coleslaw and spicy mayo helped pull the sandwich together. This sandwiche is huge. I did not really need fries, but they were good as well. I will definitely visit again.

I had a taste for a Korean corn dog and we set out looking for some. We came upon Junies which used to be named Kong Dog (it's still listed as Kong Dog in some business listings). It's located in a shopping center with lots of parking. They had all the Korean corn dog options that we were looking for plus some. I went for the standard Potato and our girls (10 & 12) got the Hot Cheetos. The dogs were really good. Only feedback was that, the girls wished that the Cheeto dust was all around the corn dog vs. just being on top. They make them fresh so there is about a 10-15 minute wait. The staff was really friendly. They have a lot of other items in addition to Korean corn dogs. We got some of the fried chicken with and got the BBQ and the Ginger Soy sauce on the side (just in case we did not like the flavors). We are glad we did as we did not care for the flavors but the chicken alone was good.

I think Kong Dog has now become Junie's. At any rate, I stop in for a quick lunch on a Saturday afternoon. Service was friendly and the inside of the restaurant was clean with amply seating for dining in or waiting for takeout. The menu is really diverse and features items such as k-dogs, Korean wings, tenders, chicken burgers, and bubble teas. Everything seemed made-to-order because I and others had a 10-12 minute wait for our food. I ordered the Junior Chicken Burger which is essentially a battered and fried chicken breast with slaw, Junie's signature sauce, and pickles on a brioche bun. The sandwich was flavorful, but I would have expected the bun to chicken ratio to be a bit better. The advertised photo has a long jumbo filet, much bigger bun. I knew that wasn't the size I ordered, but I hope my patty would have been at least the full size of the bun, which wasn't the case. I'll be back to try then Korean wings and the beverages.

My favorite - Sweet Potato corn dog.

I was impressed with the variety of sauces and dry rubs. We got the 24 traditional, which allows you up to three sauces. We had to try the traditional buffalo, which was excellent-buttery, spicy, and luscious! I've eaten a LOT of Buffalo wings in my time and these might be the best! We also loved the garlic Parmesan. I didn't taste much garlic but there was plenty of Parmesan on the perfectly-cooked wings. My husband's favorite of the three was the Sweet Thai chili wings. I loved them, too! We also ordered a regular size of their potato wedges, which was perfect for the two of us. We really liked the seasoning and my husband called them "outstanding," which is very high praise for him! The delivery experience was good, with updates being texted to my phone. I think they use DoorDash - kudos to the driver who found my building without any problems. Note: the food was hot and perfect when it arrived. It truly was a wonderful meal and I wish we had found SS Wings sooner! It will now be our go-to wing place!

We just had a few ciders, and they were a dollar off. For food, I got the haddock platter that came with Old Bay potato chips and veggies. I really loved the fish and those chips, but I found the veggies to have more butter than I'm typically comfortable with. And to me it was just that, not necessarily seasoning to upgrade the flavor. Otherwise, the bar area can get a little tight during peak hours, and there are plenty of lower tables to sit at. Seems like the place can I get busy on any given day, but it's a vibe! Everybody is really nice. Parking can be a challenge I feel like (somehow I got the last spot)... If it fills up, the adjacent lot is adamant about the parking only being for the few restaurants there. And the street parking is going to be a gamble.

We altered the mushroom special with half sausage. The three cheeses and the caramelized onions with balsamic made for a delicious pizza! The large pizza was so generous that we took leftovers home and enjoyed snacking on them for days. The waitstaff was great - checked in frequently and even teased us with humor when we requested a box to take home what we didn't finish. I really enjoyed the atmosphere- it truly felt like a neighborhood pub, and it was great to see the variety of ages of the patrons enjoying their meals. We will definitely return for another meal. My only suggestion is the beer selections should be clearer on the menu.

The Chicken tenders weren't tender and the coating was over-salted. The full rack of BBQ Pork ribs was a winner, tender and meaty with great flavor. The Slow-smoked Chicken is delicious and a nice, moist change from the usual chicken treatments. The Smoked Chicken Wings were great too. I wouldn't get the Texas Beef Brisket or the Carolina Pulled Pork again, but they weren't bad, just lots of other choices that were better! The sides here are stand-outs too. I almost didn't get the vegetarian Collard Greens since I love collards cooked with meat but these were delicious -- they never made it to the microwave, they were so vinegary-good when I sampled them cold lol! The Mac & Cheese was good and cheesy. The baked beans were good but again vegetarian where I'd prefer meat included and I didn't care for the sweet sauce. The Skillet Cornbread is the best I've had, slightly sweet with a good corn flavor that made me decide to buy a WHOLE skillet rather than just the generously portioned slice next time, especially since it's such a good value. I do regret not trying the coleslaw and potato salad so again, next time. The little rolls are tasty too, moist and slightly sweet but it's a pity they aren't burger-size so you can make a sandwich with all that delicious meat and sides.

Positives the bread was extremely soft, reminded me of a steam bun. They were very stingy with the everything toppings, literally a couple of pieces of lettuce, barely any, so scarce that I thought they forgot to put them on there. The steak was bland and lacked seasoning. For the up charge for the double meat, the amount that you got and the limited amount of toppings this really missed a mark. Wings I got the soy garlic sauce, I liked that it was a light sauce. The wings were crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. For the price, I was not expecting very small party wings like my fingers were longer than some of those wings. I get that it's Silver Spring, however, the price point should match the quality and portions. Well, this place didn't feed my soul; perhaps it does yours.
