So, uh....Junior's Restaurant & Bakery (not to be confused with Junior's Coffee Bakery just outside the lobby) is a casual sit-down dining experience which seems to emulate a decor crossing between Denny's and Whataburger. I realize I'm probably the only one who will ever make that comparison, but I'm sticking with it. Picture cozy booths but with the color orange. I think it's also safe to assume the majority of folks come here for breakfast. Ergo, that's what I'll be reviewing today. The menu is what you'd expect. On this day, I was in the mood for an omelet. Small caveat upfront for anyone with the faint of stomach: their omelets are composed of 4...possibly 5 eggs! On top of that, they STILL allow you to order one with an extra egg, if you wish. Crazy! :o I played it safe and went with a standard ham & [cheddar] cheese omelet. And like....here's the thing: proper omelet etiquette calls for shredded cheese, regardless of what type. The reason for this is so that when you fork your way in for a bite, the cheese doesn't stretch on for ages like one continuous string that won't quit until you chop it off with a knife (or perhaps a machete). What I suspect they did was either used long strips of cheddar or (perish the thought) stuck a couple of whole cheddar slices into the omelet and called it a day. Needless to say, it makes the whole eating experience hella awkward. Taste wise, it wasn't bad at all; though, it could have benefited from a bit of seasoning. 8 out of 10, be sure to enjoy with a knife. The sides were...fine. Honestly, the homefries and corned beef hash (which we'll talk about in a sec) were arguably among the best. Whereas that toast...*sigh*. Guys. Why are restaurants so petrified of copiously buttering toast? Shoot! I'll even settle for quasi-copiously buttering. Now, one reviewer claimed the corned beef hash (which is made fresh) suspiciously tasted of the canned variety. And honestly....I don't necessarily see this as a bad thing. See, I have this thing with homemade hash. Most of the renditions I've tried consist more of a brisket type textured corned beef; which either tastes over seasoned (I can't even believe I'M saying that) or seasoned strangely. For instance, the homemade hash I tried up at the Market Place Diner in Hollis, NH tasted like ranch for some reason. But, I digress. This hash was more of a minced meat texture that had a bit of subtlety to its flavoring which I can appreciate. Unfortunately, the side (which is over 10 bucks, btw) is not meant for one person. This portion could easily serve 2...maybe 3 persons. Eh, far as homemade versions go, 9 out of 10. And of course, the Mimosa was heavenly. Wanna know what really surprised us though? The coffee. I honestly thought we were about to be presented yet another pathetically weak breakfast blend most diners serve. But no--this coffee was bold in a way that would make even the likes of the Starbucks CEO go, "Jolly good cup o' java, ol' chap!" Service was sublime. My only other minor complaint is...the pricing. But really, it's to be expected of a restaurant that operates in conjunction with a resort. I guess I expected like, a near fine dining level of breakfast food for such prices. On the plus side, those $16 Mimosas include the entire small bottle of champagne. You just gotta ask for a little more OJ after your first glass. Weird. It's an innocuous little joint I wouldn't mind dining at upon future stays. Albeit a little pretentiously priced, I'm giving Junior's Restaurant and Bakery at Foxwoods 4 of the hugest fluffy ham & cheese omelets out of 5. read more

We arrived at juniors and asked for a both for two. The hostess stephanie had brought us to a both that had direct sunlight. My husband had a solar radiation allergy. So I asked her kindly if we could be placed at another table that didn't have sun. She had huffed and gave an annoyed looked. But, did change our table. I had told our waitress about it and we got an apology from the manager. Next we ordered the bacon Swiss burger and the pastrami Swiss burger. Omg so delicious and juicy. The pastrami was so flavorful. The burger was seasoned and you can still taste the freshness from the beef. It was a good lunch and that made up for the rude attitude in the beginning with the hostess. read more

Lunch for four during a visit to Foxwoods on a weekday when others at work or school, so place not busy. Had some nice Buffalo wings, some pickles, beets and cole slaw. Entrees included a traditional Reuben, a combo pastrami and corned beef on rye, a beef brisket in potato cakes and an asian salad. All were very good. We shared some fries, brisket came w apple sauce and au jus. Salad had grilled chicken and a savory dressing. My combo was good, but the rye bread was too thin and fell apart in my hand. Server was attentive, friendly, refilled water and brought plenty of napkins and wet wipes. Finished w a raspberry swirl cheese cake, also good, but appearance looked a little dry from the freezer. Juniors is conveniently located in the main lobby of the Foxwoods Tower and we had no wait time when it came to finding a table. Our server was also super nice and the food came out pretty quick! The food just isn't anything to rave about really. I got 2 eggs served over-medium with toast and home fries. The toast wasn't served with butter so it really was just slabs of toasted white bread that I then put the egg in to create my own breakfast sandwich with. The home fries weren't anything crazy either. There wasn't much flavor going on in this meal. All in all, yes is was a good meal but nothing to rave about. Everyone else got different meals -- someone got a bacon, egg, and cheese on an everything bagel but she wasn't too crazy about the taste of it so she only ended up eating half. read more

Today's Review: Junior's Cheesecake Restaurant. A wonderful restaurant that I haven't visited in over 10 years. It hasn't changed a bit...except for the prices. But it's still great as always. While waiting for your order, they serve you some coleslaw, pickles and beets. I was able to eat the coleslaw and pickles, but not the beets. Beets are not my thing. I use to always eat the Rueben sandwich here and that was delicious. But today I opted to go with the steak burger that came with 2 large onion rings and steak fries. Delish. So much food, cooked to my liking and very tasty. They are known for their cheesecake. But I couldn't even finish my burger. So, no dessert for me. But the Cheesecake looked delicious and tempting. This is a great place to visit while in Foxwoods Casino to have coffee and a piece of their delicious Cheesecake. Junior's Restaurant is located in the Fox Tower of Foxwood Casino near the hotel's reception area. They also have a Junior's Bakery closer to the casino floor that offers pastries, Cheesecake, coffee and other drinks. Disappointed. Visited Saturday night and restaurant was almost empty, plenty of seating. We asked to sit in the dining area, in lieu of the bar area and was led all the way to the back of the restaurant and was seated directly in front of the staff's POS machine. The entire time we were there, we felt like we were employees of juniors. Constant chitchat between the employees took place less than 12 inches of booth. Our female server acted nice and helpful, until she wasn't. Never came to check back on us, never got to order a second round of drinks, and my Caesar salad had zero dressing completely dry. I did not have any opportunity to order dressing, since she never came back to the table. However, she had time to chitchat and text on her phone near the kitchen area. Severely lacking management and much-needed training. One positive note, the complimentary beets, pickles, and coleslaw were tasty. However, they no longer automatically bring it to you, you may have to ask. Restaurant itself appeared clean, with no visible issues. For the last two points, I have added an additional star. Their avocado toast was fresh and delicious. Even had some seasoning on it which is a bright spot with bland New England fare that you may experience from time to time. Went here after checking out from our hotel and we were happy with our breakfast choices. Our server was excellent, very friendly and known by all customers. Our order was not accurate and was quickly fixed. They did not have any gluten free breads which surprised me because they are located within the casino. Coffee was good and eggs were hot, what else could I ask for. read more

Dessert are one thing, but the other items are a hit or miss What I did like: * Pastrami - The pastrami is moist and has the perfect lean to fat ratio. * Scoop salad - Huge, fresh and vibrant colors, visually appealing and healthy for you too. What I did not like: * Matzoh ball soup - flavorless * Tuna salad - not very tasty and dry * Turkey sandwich - dry and bland I had their breakfast in the past, and if I recall correctly, it was pretty good. The service here is always top notch! The dining area is well lit and spacious. Like any restaurant some dishes work and some don't, but you can't go wrong on the desserts and coffee. What absolute fun! We enjoyed the specialty drinks and specialty prime rib, as well as the combination, pastrami and corned beef on onion roll, French dip, and brisket poutine. Cake shake is always great for fun - although it did take three of us to finish it! Service was outstanding and friendly. This was a central visit to our trip to Foxwoods casino and we were so glad we spent the time! Our son summed it up well - the things that are good here are done very well. Things that aren't just aren't. Matzah ball soup and loaded potato pancake was good. The potato pancake w apple sauce as a side is tasty but very greasy so be warned. Get it and stop there. I also got the cheese blintzes. Kind of like an egg roll. They appear also deep fried which is a first for me. Was told burger was juicy and perfectly done (he voted 4 stars here). Was told brisket was good but dry. The au ju was good. This is the 1st time my wife and I had been to Foxwoods. Sorry to say it is not accommodating to people with disabilities. I had to walk from the parking garage through the casino to the entrance of the hotel and Juniors which is about a 1/4 mile walk. When we got there to order. Staff was extremely friendly. They were ever attentive to our needs. This is also our 1st time to Juniors in any of the stores. We ordered to go. Cheesecake, Chocolate cake and lemon coconut cakes were excellent. Loved the theme of the restaurant. Lived in the Tri-state most of my life. When it came to the sangwiches, very fresh however, I ordered the combo Reuben, there literally was less than 1 Tbsp of sauerkraut, 1/2slice of cheese... The price for 2 Sandwiches $45. Total cost with the desserts...over $85.00. Prices may have gone up but, how dare you subtract the amount of food you put on a sandwich! We felt extremely cheated. I have been a chef in five star five diamond hotels and country clubs for 40 plus years. Prices always go up but, I would never think of taking the amount of food away from our guests just to put money in our pockets. Shame shame on Juniors!!! Husband asked for a certain type of eggs and got the ones he hates. Ordered sliced tomatoes on the side and paid $2.50 for TWO small slices. ARE YOU KIDDING ME. Horrible breakfast. I ordered the steak and eggs for 30 bucks. With scrambled eggs, home fries and a "grilled" English muffin. The steak smelled like it was left out overnight and was hard as a brick. The home fries were not fresh ( might have been made the day before. (we came early so they shld have been fresh. I love that it's located right in the casino and that it's open very late. It's very clean and it gives you a cafe in Paris vibe. The people that were working there were working through a big line, but they were very nice even though I don't think she could hear us very well. The red velvet cake that my mom had was delicious and very big which it should be for $10. I'm not sure I would be going back but I definitely think it was good for the moment but if there were other things I would probably go to them first. read more

I ordered a Bloody Mary, that took a bit longer than expected. It was pretty spicy, and could bring some tears to your eyes. Wasn't not busy at all. Waitress was very nice. Food was good, no real big complaints. Pancakes were good, eggs good, as was home fries. Corned beef hash was homemade, and was decent, would have liked more onions and peppers. Still my favorite place to get cheesecake! Absolutely love the Chocolate Mousse Cheesecake! We get it every time we come here! We just stayed at Foxwoods Fox Tower overnight for my Birthday, a couple days before Thanksgiving and oddly enough I was craving Turkey dinner (lol) I could've gone anywhere I wanted, but insisted on turkey! Lol. It was really delicious and I was glad I stuck with my craving! We also came here for breakfast the following morning and that too was extra yummy! And yes! The most bland, flavorless breakfast i've quite possibly ever had. Everything was overcooked to within an inch of it's life. Eggs had zero taste and dry, nothing soft or creamy about them. Food and service took forever at a half empty restaurant, sandwiches were served in white not the rye we ordered, the Rueben was meat and bread- nothing else. The pastrami could not have been fatter nor more grissly... Ordered cider, server brought beer. At the end we finally had to get up to find someone to get out check... Try a different restaurant, this one is not worth the $41 per person it cost for a sandwich and drink. read more

I wont even sugarcoat this review because this food was gross! I ordered a swiss steak burger and it comes with mushrooms, I love mushrooms so I was excited. However it was so bland, they didn't season a single thing on that burger and the mushrooms tasted like they boiled them and threw them on the burger. It came with fries and two big onion rings, I don't like onion rings so I let my friend have them and she said they were basically just all breading and not really any onion in the middle. They will offer you pickles, coleslaw and beets, DO NOT ACCEPT IT! I had never tasted a bad pickle before in my life till coming here. The pickles straight up smelled like someone peed all over them before they came to us and they tasted so gross, one bite was enough for me. I didn't even want to try the beets or the slaw, the whole setup was so gross. The one star is for our waitress because she was nice but if you ever catch yourself hungry at Foxwoods, PLEASE go try another restaurant or just stay hungry. Don't waste your money here. read more

We really enjoy this place. Great Coney Island atmosphere and Olga, at the bar, is awesome. Very high quality ingredients in the menu selections. The burgers obviously contain ground steak. The macaroni and cheese is amongst the best we've had in any restaurant. The egg salad sandwiches and chicken salad sandwiches are top quality. The combo Rubin (pastrami and corned beef) is unbelievable with their homemade 1000 island dressing. Their desserts, especially their cheesecakes, are other-worldly. What a great place. read more

Let me start out with this: The cheesecake here will always be a 10/10 - it's what they are known for, and it's almost always perfect. I've otherwise only eaten breakfast here, and while it was good and a solid breakfast, there weren't any extra bells and whistles to put it over the top flavor wise. It is also one of the more wallet friendly restaurants within the casino, which is a huge plus. Be warned, it sometimes gets so hot in the restaurant that you will be sweating at your table. When we were at breakfast we were all roasting. That was the biggest con about the restaurant honestly. Go for cheesecake and / or a cheap no frills meal! Worth the price. WATCH YOUR BILL THE NEXT DAY!! We made a reservations and had a lovely breakfast. Good Food, good staff. It was fine. Reasonably priced. No issues until the next day. My account was originally charged 40.00 then the next day I got another charge for 70.00 from there. I thought someone Got a hold of my card. Nope, bank says that they resubmittedbit it and added another 30$ on it. We left a cash tip and thats what I wrote on my slip. I called multiple time to the resteraunt so they could fix it. Multiple managers said they would call me back.Noone ever did. So now I have to dispute it with my card company. I just wanted a call back to figure this out. Sad thing is, this wont stop anyone from going because it is in Foxwoods and its good. Just really sucky they treat their customers like this. We wont be going back there again. It was likely the most delicious dessert I have ever had! It was over $8 but used points to pay for it. My husband enjoyed his vanilla cupcake. Just The bottom rung of restaurant choices at Foxwoods. It's a shame because the restaurant has a great old fashion vibe which is why I've given it more chances than I should've. This past visit was the last straw just like before the food quality is very sub par reheated leftovers taste to it, the brisket locked inedible and dry and the taste was exactly that, definitely reheated in oven which caused it to dry and lose all flavor when I asked for aus jus for it the waitress even say she had got complaints about how bad/dry it was(wish I had known). My friend got the open faced turkey now while the portion was huge it doesn't make up for how extra salty the turkey and gravy is, which makes you only want to eat a small portion of it. The service was just fine as usual but in multiple visits I've heard worked apologize for quality of food during lunch and breakfast. Meals are pretty pricey which is fine but would expect better especially at Foxwoods just too many other choices there read more

Let me start by saying I'm not a fan of chain restaurants but I do appreciate a good deli meal. So I was pleasantly surprised by the selection options , portion size, and food quality. I ordered the brisket melt and my wife had the potato pancakes. Dessert was a slice of chocolate layer cake. As another reviewer pointed out, the brisket was a little dry but dipping it in the au jus gravy brought it back to life! The potato pancakes were delicious and nicely browned. Dessert was not supposed to be an option but I just had to get something sweet and the slice of cake was enough for the two of us. All in all, better than I expected it to be. I should also mention the service because the staff at the front seemed give off the vibe that we were interrupting their day leading me to think we had made a poor choice. That decision was overturned by our waitress (Andrea) who was exemplary both in service, attentiveness to detail, and in her knowledge of the menu items. I complemented her on the unusual name imprinted on her necklace and she regaled us with the story behind the name (it was her cat!). Fortunately the room was not busy and we chatted for a bit before closing out our check. It was a very pleasant mid-afternoon meal without the crowd that was starting to drift in as we were leaving. Excellent service, good portions, and surprisingly decent prices for the amount of food on the plate. I have yet to be this flabbergasted with the lack of speed and gumption in a restaurant besides maybe in somewhere in an airport.
