Went with my husband for Sunday brunch. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It was quiet and quaint but the service was incredible.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Friendly staff, gave us great recommendations and a little bit of history on the place. The food was so delicious !! Definitely would recommend for everyone to try this place. Can't wait to come back soon!!

Visiting Foxwoods and found this place online, it was absolutely fantastic and worth every penny! Everything is homemade and fresh with amazing flavors. They have a great draft beer menu and also a lot of unique cocktails. So impressed, will visit this place every time I go to Foxwoods from now on!

My favorite item is their turkey sandwich with fries

I absolutely adore the tin peddler. The food is fresh, flavorful, and plated beautifully. I frequently order their turkey sandwich because it is absolutely divine. I find myself ordering that with fries so frequently when I go in, but I do try and change it up sometimes. For me to order the same item time and time again it shows how spectacular it is. Gosh just writing this makes me want to go there asap for another turkey Sammy .

They opened in 2021 and made it through COVID, I can definitely see why. #ThisFeedsMySoul - Status Conferred Peddler Benny - Cynivised I swapped out the boring English Muffin for house focaccia as the base, which made the dish perfect. The pork belly was perfectly smoked, crispy outside, perfect color and not overly salty. The chili hollandaise was a nice touch, adding a notch up to the traditional sauce. Home fries were perfectly cooked and the fresh dill on top elevated the taste. Pancake Stack - Cynivised I got 1 cake instead of a whole stack. OMG, smack your Momma! The pancake was amazing! Light fluffy pancake, thin enough to soak up all the brown butter maple syrup goodness giving you a perfect pancake to syrup ratio in each bite. Not soggy either. That brown butter maple syrup should be bottled it is so dang good. Hands down one of the best pancakes I have ever had. Kung Pao Wings Excellent flavors. Perfect amount of spice for a heat level that results in an olfactory response, yet not so much that you can't taste the food. The koji brine gives it the perfect amount of saltiness, with the slight sweetness of the kung pao saue to balance it out. The fresh herbs on top added another layer to the depth of the taste for the dish. Well done. Apple Cider Lemonade Perfect balance of tart and sweet. The tart of the lemonade with the cider bringing in just enough sweetness. I even liked the paper straw Caffe Mocha Strong and warm. I would've loved to have the double chocolate be more in the forefront to give it more depth. Nevertheless it was a good cup of adult coffee. Location I loved that there is a drive up option to grab real home cooked food on the go. Small space with only a few tables, which Emma's on a busy day there will be a wait. Totally worth it though. Hands down a CynBites culinary favorite!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]We were a little nervous when we pulled up and there was a short amount of cars on a Sunday morning at 11 am, but I think we found a hidden gem![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The cars that are here now are local plates, If this sort thing excites you, the coffee cup is a fine big cup. :) Our server, Lyndsay was super kind and attentive and kept the coffee flowing. My avo toast was amazing! I'm pretty sure the bread and eggs were locally sourced. The yokes were more orange like fresh chickens. My hubby got the Benedict. And oh my gosh. Thick cut bacon on top a biscuit. He said the hollandaise sauce was delicious and homemade with curry. Super amazing find and if we are traveling thru, we will be back! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Our server was telling us that they just renovated. It's bright and pretty in here and I love the upscale country feel with pretty wood tables.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Super comfortable and the music playing set the perfect tone for brunch with my sweetie.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

This was our second time to the Tin Peddler. Both times we had a delightful time and the food was delicious! The bar and dinner area are inviting and friendly. The service is top-notch. The menu is small however they offer a wide variety of meals. You can easily opt for casual or a more upscale entree. The drink options are fabulous too with a great beer, wine or mix drinks. Both times here were very good. We live out of state, and we are happy to travel to enjoy a delicious meal at the Tin Peddler. I definitely recommend this restaurant.

Don't be confused or discouraged by its size. Great things come in small packages. This little charming eatery seems so spacious inside. The colors and open space makes it feel larger than it looks outside and so much brighter. 5 of us came by for brunch this past Sunday. It was cold and raining so we ate inside. I was told there is outside sitting in the summer, and I bet that looks great. There is plenty of parking on site and its easy to find. The place also has a drive through window so you can order to go and its easy to pick up. We had reservations and this ensured sitting available. I do recommend you do this as the place is not that big and I can tell it is loved by many locals. The staff was pleasant and everyone made an effort to help all the tables. They are known for having great coffee and I agree. Coffee is self serve which was a bit different from other places but I still liked it. We ordered a few of the usuals, French toast, eggs and bacon. Grilled cheese with French fries; Biscuits and Gravy; Roast Beef Sandwich with fries; but the top item that impressed me most was the Avocado Toast. I have to say everything looked absolutely great and portions were great. What I absolutely loved about the Avocado Toast was the perfect focaccia bread with an airy crumb in the inside and an extremely crispy top. An even better touch to the avocado and the sunny egg, was the pickled red onion. Oh yes, I ate every bite and felt like dancing as I did. Every bite had a crisp to it. You wont be disappointed in this pick or any pick. Some of us ate everything on our plates and others were just full and brought back the rest. Everyone was very happy with their choices. I definitely need to be back. If you want a perfect experience for lunch, brunch or breakfast, bookmark this little gem now and come right by.

The Tin Peddler is a great hidden gem just minutes away from Foxwoods. We happen to stumble upon this after visiting two other establishments for breakfast this morning . The Tin Peddler welcomed our party of 7 without hesitation. I had ordered the Peddler breakfast. The home fries were some of the best I had . The gourmet ketchup served on the side was the perfect combination. Bread that is used was grilled to perfection as well. Everything blended so well Coffee and tea are self serve and they put glass bottles of water on the table as well so you can serve yourself. More than enough parking here and they also have an outdoor seating area. This is a great place for breakfast and brunch

This restaurant is only a few minutes away from the Airbnb we were staying at. It didn't have many pictures of the inside which let us down a path of a little confusion. He did have a dining session? Does it have a full bar? Well, the answers to those questions is yes. The ambience is actually quite cute. Although you can see towards the deli counter section from some seats you do you get to enjoy a nice dining vibe in the far area of the restaurant. Their food was also good. I had the barley bowl although I thought the barley would be warm which was a little confusing as It is a fully cold bowl, it was still good. My husband had a burger which he claimed was the best burger he's had in a long time. my son had a turkey sandwich. They do have a children's menu which you don't see in the options on their website or on yelp. it consists of a turkey sandwich, a burger and at the time a macaroni salad. The cocktails we even dabbled with were actually also very yummy. You don't see the bar, they service the alcohol from the back. All in all overall not a bad spot to hit if you're in the area for some delicious good eats!

I couldn't decide what to get because everything looks so good. I ended up with the Patatas Brava which had soupy in it. I haven't had soup in years and they made it really stand out with the home fries, eggs, and crema. My wife had the basic breakfast, and everything was fresh and cooked perfectly. We ordered an apple crêpe for the table that had caramel and toasted almonds on it. The staff was also great. We had one waitress, but a second one was always there to check on us. I am absolutely obsessed with everything here. I made reservations for 5:45 pm on a Monday night…read more We actually came a little before 5:15 pm, because I was absolutely starving, and they were so kind/accommodating. They seated us right away! I love the vibes of the place, it's beautiful and inviting, but not pretentious. Our waitress was the best. She knew it was our anniversary and gave us a little bubbly to toast to. We also made it for happy hour (5 pm - 6 pm on weekdays, and 5 pm - 6 pm on weekends only at the bar)! All the small plates on the left side of the menu were half off! We immediately ordered drinks (the $10 happy hour cocktail - a blackberry bourbon smash for my husband, and a mocktail for me). We then ordered the shishito peppers, 2 of the pickled beet deviled eggs, and the roasted oysters with chili oil. They came out super fast, and it was delicious. The shishitos had that great char flavor along with a great dipping sauce. You can never go wrong with deviled eggs. Then we decided to order the fried oysters and the bread with corn butter. The fried oysters were the star of the small plates. Cooked so well. Freshly fried, you bite into it and it was juicy and delicious on the inside. Just so good. The bread and butter? Ugh, my dream butter and bread. Just so delicious. The butter was slightly sweet from the corn and had flakes of sea salt on tip, making it the perfect sweet and salty combo. We also got the salad (local produce!), and our waitress knew we were sharing ao she had the kitchen put it on 2 plates. Such a great touch. The salad was fantastic. After eating lobster rolls for a day, this was a much needed salad. It was refreshing, bright, and light! For our main entrees, we got the seared local squid and the strip steak. It was INCREDIBLE. Everything had so much flavor. The squid was cooked well, wasnt chewy. Just delicious. The crispy rice was the BEST THING I HAVE EVER EATEN. I wish we could order bowls of it. My husband finished it, couldn't get enough of it. The steak was fantastic as well. The potato with the bearnise sauce was so dreamy. The little onions on the steak, all the little touches were so well done. We knew we had to get dessert. We got a scoop of the black raspberry ice cream, a scoop of corn and blueberry swirl ice cream, and the lavender honey panna cotta. Guys. You 100% must get dessert. The corn blueberry ice cream was unreal. I dont know how you get all that flavor into ice cream. They dont skimp on the honey on the panna cotta. And it went so well with the more mild panna cotta. The black raspberry was a little icy because they froze whole blackberries in it, but at least you know they were trying to make sure you got blackberries in there. With happy hour, the bill wasn't too bad. This was hands down our favorite meal of our week long road trip. I can't wait to come back. I would 100% make a detour to eat here. Parking is pretty difficult around here. I would probably just Uber if I was coming here on a weekend. I need to come here for breakfast at some point.

I really didn't want to write this review, but potential patrons should know what they can expect…read morewhen working with the event staff at Shipwright's Daughter - if they plan to have a private dining experience and event there. My husband and I got married last December. We decided we would hold off on celebrating with our family and invite everyone out from California to join us for a weekend full of activities in Connecticut and a special dinner at Shipwright's Daughter during Memorial Day weekend. We contacted the restaurant's events team to work out high level details starting in late January - to book a private room and hold a date and time. From the get go, the communication we received from the event staff was dismal to say the least. Not only did the events manager misquote the estimate for the room reservation, she came back and asked for a much higher price (up charging by an additional 30% of the original minimum fee) two months after we confirmed and discussed the date. She then explained it was due to the holiday weekend. Our date had never changed from the moment we inquired, so we would have appreciated knowing this upfront. Over the course of several months (and an absurd number of emails and a few calls), we tried to solidify the menu and wine selection and made multiple attempts before hearing back from the team. It was about two weeks before the big event when we were able to confirm a menu. It was about four days before the event that we heard back from the beverage director, but by then, my husband and I had already decided we would bring our own wine bottles, not wanting to leave it to chance with this team. I won't go into further details about the frustration we felt regarding their system for communications (they use an internal system that doesn't make it easy for guests to know who is copied on emails and who sees what). That is something I hope they will work out. When the big day came, I walked into the room and noticed there were a number of chairs missing, so I counted the chairs. They had an incorrect number of chairs for adults and not enough high chairs for the toddlers. We had requested a specific number of these chairs (weeks prior and mentioned it multiple times in writing), and I thought it was safe to assume that this was a basic checklist item for events set up. I was dumbfounded in the moment. I couldn't help but wonder what else they were going to miss or mess up that evening. It was disappointing to have our family members wait while the staff scrambled to pull other chairs into the room. From the time it took to take everyone's order from the set menu, the time between courses being served, and the attentiveness for pouring water and wine - all of it was a miss. The level of hospitality that we expected from a restaurant so recognized for its incredible food and approach to sustainable sourcing was completely overshadowed by the lack of attention and care by its staff - since day one of planning this event. Even a few of our family members commented on this during the dinner. At the end of the day, we felt like an obligation rather than welcomed guests, and that is mainly why I'm leaving this review. We had been patrons of Shipwright's a couple of times prior to this event, which is why we chose this establishment - to represent the best that Connecticut has to offer, when it comes to a dining experience we could vouch for. We no longer feel that we can recommend this restaurant. If you care about hospitality, I would recommend looking elsewhere.

We were panicked, trying to squeeze a party of 6 in at happy hour can be impossible here... or at least it used to be. I was pleasantly surprised when they were able to seat us at 3:50 pm on Friday. Thought we had won the lottery. Things took a turn quickly. A waitress we had never seen before quickly parroted the beers on tap. My husband, who is hard of hearing, asked her to repeat the list, to which she replied "I just listed them". Woof. After that awkward encounter she eventually returned to take our food orders. As we waited for the food, dust fell from the ceiling. My dad, slowly getting more and more worked up compared it to the scenes from Stranger Things in the Upside Down. We all turned our heads and to our horror saw the intake vent for the AC... caked in dust. Dust was literally "snowing" down on us. My father, who I've never seen act displeased with a beer in front of him, brought it to the attention of the nearest server. Multiple employees, all standing there swatting at the flurries as they fell, referred to them as "lint" or "just a few dust bunnies". One waitress even said, "weird because I saw someone cleaning it last week". An hour later, 2 of 3 soups had been delivered, 1 of 2 orders of mussels had arrived, and no smash burgers had made it to the table. We asked for our order to be cancelled and the manager kindly comped 2 of the things we ordered. Two stars because of her. Long story short we will be taking a hiatus and inspecting the vents before we decide to return.

The staff was extremely friendly, especially our outside bartender Gabrielle, who was fantastic, so personable and creative with her drinks. Honestly, the drinks and her service were the best part of our experience. We started with the lobster wraps, which were good, but the tarragon and dill were very strong and overpowered the lobster. Next we had the scallops for $38, which I didn't feel were worth the price about 12 small scallops with a bit of lettuce. They were cooked well, corn sauce was nice but nothing particularly special, and I would've ordered differently knowing what I was getting. We were still hungry, so we got the rigatoni, which was delicious. My only note was again the heavy use of fresh dill, which started to overpower an otherwise great dish. Overall, I would absolutely come back for the location, the great staff, and especially Gabrielle. I'd return for drinks and try different menu items next time.
