The staff is super nice and I have been ordering the Green Fuel smoothie (kale, spinach, apple, banana, coconut, & spirulina and I get a scoop of hemp hearts added for extra fiber and protein) for about 2 weeks now (about 8 or 9 of them) and the smoothies have really changed my life! Thanks Roots!! I have not tried the any of the comfort bowls or wraps yet, but I had the mini pumpkin muffins (gluten soy and dairy free) and truly delicious!!! read more

First time in today and was excited because I love fresh healthy food! Roots has a cozy atmosphere with a couple of tables, a comfy sitting nook, and open kitchen. I was greeted by a friendly young woman who was ready to take my order. The menu boards looked great but lacked prices. I wasn't much concerned since I knew I was going to be paying decent money for thoughtfully curated, quality food. I placed my order-- A Chocolate Cherry Smoothie and a Roots Comfort Quinoa bowl-- $16 and change--I assumed 10 for the quinoa and 6 something for the smoothie-- on par with what I've paid at similar establishments. The Chocolate Cherry smoothie was listed to have: Cherry, Coacoa nibs, dates, banana, agave and I want to say almond butter? (its not listed on the online menu)- I asked for no agave. The smoothie was thin, it tasted like tangy chocolate water. The Roots Comfort Quinoa wasn't bad. It would have been better with quinoa though....Even though the quinoa bowl was missing the quinoa the ingredients were still fresh. Since logging on to post this review I read a few about inconsistency. Having only been there once I cant say that I've experienced this but I think I can see what reviewers are talking about--Even though I had a bad experience, I'm going to give it another try but may mention these incidences just to help give some guidance. This is easily one of the best restaurants in the area. The food is always delicious. The menu is incredibly creative. The owner and staff are great. I have never been served anything less than very enjoyable and have probably eaten more than half of my favorite meals ever here. It may technically be a niche menu since it says vegan and gluten free, but honestly this is just amazing food regardless of one's preferences for meat and cheese. This was my first visit. I am always taken back when a place does not list any prices. I originally went in expecting to just get a smoothie but their Breakfast Bowls sounded interesting so I decided to give one a try. I ordered the Pineapple Coconut bowl. I was surprised (not in a good way) by the visually unappealing bowl of unmixed ingredients I was handed. Everything was just scooped on top of a pile of quinoa. I was left to awkwardly mix it myself while trying to keep it all in the bowl. If i do ever go back it would only be to try a smoothie or juice. read more
