What a wonderful way to end my day! I was running errands in the area and finally decided to pop in for a little treat. The ambiance is very clean, modern, and has charming decor. I was by myself, and the front staff was very personable and we had a great conversation. Not only did I get a very cute and tasty dessert, but I enjoyed being able to talk with the staff. All the toppings made for a mix of sweet + sour (strawberries + blueberries). Taiyaki: Nutella was good, custard was bland just mildly sweet... want to try oreo and red bean next time. Crunchy outside, chewy inside (someone else commented it wasn't cooked on the inside... i wonder if that was intentional to be chewy?). Boba was good but they were out of boba so can't comment on actual boba. Pineapple soft serve + taiyaki: the taiyaki was of course without filling and soft serve was good, did remind me of dole whip but creamier. Overall might stop by for boba + taiyaki again. Pineapple soft serve ice cream is light, fruity, and refreshing. The best part is that it's a dairy free! The other three ice cream flavors (milk, strawberry, taro) have milk. Red bean taiyaki is warm and filled with red bean. I was more focused on the red bean filling not leaking out rather than noticing the mochi batter. I might have waited too long to eat my cheddar taiyaki. Cheese wasn't as warm and gooey as I would like, and cheese wasn't well distributed throughout the fish, but I was able to notice the mochi batter this way. Was in Folsom and decided to drop by here to grab some taiyaki as well as try out the boba bingsoo. Taiyaki: comes in a 2-pack or 5-pack; choose 1 flavor for the 2-pack and the 5-pack gets you to choose 2 flavors. Got the 5-pack with 3 taro and 2 Oreo. The taiyaki here is reeeaaally good. Perfectly crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside. The taro filling was gooey goodness and the Oreo ones reminded me of State Fair deep fried Oreos but without the grease. Definitely recommend getting some taiyaki here to warm up your soul in this frigid cold fall/winter. Boba bingsoo: oh my gawd I've been transported back to the time when I visited Taiwan and had a super delicious brown sugar boba milk tea. You have to try this!! Very creamy soft-serve and the boba pearls were perfectly bouncy. The brown sugar syrup was *chef's kiss.* If I wanted to be nit-picky I didn't really care for the shaved ice at the bottom, which ended up melting really quickly (though I get why it's there as it is a bingsoo.....could just skip adding the ice and call it a boba soft-serve instead though!). Came in to get an ice cream. Thinking it would be something like Menchie's but it was more like a Boba shop. Sort of bummed. I ordered a soft serve ice cream $4.99 half vanilla, half strawberry. I was asked if I'd like any toppings, I said Oreos please thinking it would be oreo crumbs but it was just an oreo cookie on the side. Nothing special; strawberry flavor was off tasted like the Nestle Strawberry Milk frozen. Went to Junni this afternoon after lunch at a friend's recommendation. Located in a strip mall, there's plenty of parking and the place was clean and refreshing. There are a few tables inside to escape from the heat, which we definitely took advantage of. Everything on the menu looked so delicious it was difficult for us to choose what to order. Ultimately, my friends had the vanilla soft serve, vanilla/ube soft serve with taiyaki (waffle shaped as fish filled with Nutella), an affogato (vanilla soft serve, oreo crumbles, cookie, chocolate, with a shot of espresso), while I had the pineapple/strawberry soft serve. Everything was delicious. The soft serves are either lactose free or dairy free and you would never know based on taste. The soft serves were delicious. My pineapple/strawberry swirl was just a bit tart (as expected due to the pineapple) and paired really well with the strawberry. My friends all enjoyed their desserts as well. Sort of taste like a strawberry starburst combined with a strawberry now and later candy. Bing soo red bean with mochi- the red been was delicious and this is definitely a new and interesting dessert. I'll be back to try the different flavors. 3.) Taiyaki- red bean and taro. My kids love this place for their strawberry soft serve and mango snow bowl. Both refreshing. The mangoes on the snow bowl is so good. It's sweet, not tart, the snow is light and fluffy. The ice cream we ordered was from the soft serve menu, we all happen order Taro, and I really liked how it was tasty but not very sweet. For the $5 cup, they gave a generous amount and I wasn't even able to finish it, I would suggest sharing. They offer unlimited toppings for their soft serve which is cool. The ambience is fine, they were blasting new K-pop on both TV's that were set up back to back. The server completely forgot my friend's order, and they were waiting for their ice cream for 10 minutes after I ordered (after them). It was not until she came back up to the register to ask for her order and they did not know what it was and asked her for a receipt, that she didn't want when she ordered so she didnt have it. Instead, she showed them a bank statement. It was kind of embarrassing for her to do that but nonetheless, the manager made her order and everyone eventually apologized when they found the transaction. It was super hot this week and the taiyaki looks really attractive in picture. Since it's on our route home, we stopped by to try. The shop is Korean owned and definitely has a K vibe. It was very clean, contemporary and nice to sit inside, especially with a very clean and clear floor to ceiling glass storefront. This place opened not too long ago and I finally got the chance to try it. My friend and I grabbed dinner from Vons before heading to Junni and we noticed on the Vons receipt that if you bring the receipt over to Junni you get 10% off! When we got there we were greeted by a friendly employee and we took a couple of minutes to take a look at the menu. I decided on the taro ice cream in a cup with a taiyaki cone and my friend got the fruit bingsoo. Once we ordered we took a seat and then our order was ready! Super fast. The taro ice cream was sooo gooood. Best taro ice cream I've ever had and their taiyaki cone was perfect. It wasn't too chewy or hard. It had the right consistency. My friend said the bingsoo was good too but she's not a fan of popping boba, which was at the bottom, and states she would have rather not have it, if possible. Overall, it was a good first experience. Fast and friendly service, our treats were awesome. So awesome we went back on a Monday but sadly they are closed on Mondays. The taste of the bingsoo had a good sweetness to it where it wasn't overpowering. The matcha milk tea was good as well, but I would like if there could be other milk options since I love pairing my milk teas with soymilk.
