Huevos rancheros
Alexander J.

The best Oaxacan food I've ever had! I tried the mole chilaquiles, tlayuda, and huevos rancheros--every dish was absolutely amazing. The atmosphere was lively, filled with great music and a happy crowd. Highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for incredible food and a vibrant environment.

Carne Asada Plate

I remember being here a long time ago... they gave us chips with Mike sauce and quesillo instead of chips & salsa. This is the only reason I came. Things have change since... but we were still able to order. However, they don't have quesillo I was a bit disappointed. They have a happy hour menu. The tacos are good. The margaritas are mild, so that is good (in my personal opinion). The server was attentive and polite. The dinning room is small, but clean. My carne asada was good. All in all - it was a good experience.

Chips & salsa

This is a great place although not perfect. The carne asada was delicious. It's not the best in LA in my opinion but I bet most people would really like it. The chips and salsa come out right away and it's really fresh. It was rather mild for a place that is so authentically decorated. The place is small and there isn't a lot of seating but that wasn't a problem. I bet they do a lot of takeout business. I wasn't impressed that a virgin margarita cost $8. Dinner for 1 person cost me $35. That's 1 Diet Coke, 1 virgin margarita, and 1 carne asada plate. The staff was pretty much "down to business". Not overly chatty and nothing was missed. That's kinda a big deal nowadays. I will order from them in the future for sure.

Al pastor burrito wet with salsa verde

I'm so glad I live right down the street from this place. I stopped in the other night because I was craving a wet Al pastor burrito and some chips and salsa. The place was pretty clean inside and I was greeted right away. She gave me chips and salsa within a couple minutes of sitting down which was perfect. They have a back patio also which gets pretty lively. I had a passionfruit drink with my dinner which was so good. Can't wait to come back here for happy hour!

Been going here practically since they opened and now they have a full bar. Love everything about this spot.

Good food and good drinks. This is a great spot for a casual lunch or a dinner. All the food was yummy and filling and we got a pitcher of mango margarita that was equally as refreshing. Would definitely recommend to sit in the back if you get a chance. The only downside is that this place can be very roudy if there are college students.

This is an Oaxacan Mexican restaurant so people should understand it is not typical Mexican fare. I was not happy with the meat in my entree(too chewy and leathery)but the server did honor my request to replace it with a fish taco which was only average. Prices are high with my meal costing me $25. The ambience is nice with nice decor and bar but it's a small dining area and it was too cold and drafty.

Mole. That's why I went. That's what I got. It was great. Look. I'm from the Midwest. Is it "authenticity mole? Don't know, don't care. It was delicious. Do it, get it, and get some more. Price. Was fairly price. Service. Simply okay. Atmosphere. Nonexistent.

The fact that I found this authentic hidden gem on the Westside of all places is crazy! The Al pastor tacos are FIRE it's better than king tacos'! I'll even go a step further and say it's better than el taurino's in ktown (IFYKYK). Juquila's is the Greatest Mexican Oaxacan food, period!!! It's legit real Mexican food, not that white boy flavorless crap scattered all throughout the westside, they pack the meat, onions, ciltantro, lime, salsa! Old school east la kind of food and the fact that they're on Westside! I scored!!!!!! No more far af drives to the east side. I love you juquila!!!

Strawberry margarita

This restaurant is so good!! I sat at the bar and had great service. I loved the strawberry margarita and enchiladas.

Now when you pull up originally you might think, "am I in the right place" but once you park and get into the courtyard, it is LOVELY! Amazing ambience! There is a bocce set up, string lights. It is a little slice of oasis in the middle of the fashion district. The restaurant itself - beautiful. I couldn't ask for more. Absolutely perfect in my book. Beautiful plants hanging, perfect Spanish music in the background (any place playing Natalia LaFourcade is a win). The drinks were great! I had the jungle bird which was fun. Food was so good too. The whipped beans are the star! We had the guacamole which was tasty, great tostadas with it. The arepas were good but the pork belly was a little too fatty (I know pork belly is always fatty) to the point the fat muted the flavored for the arepa a bit, but still delicious. The empanadas were great and as someone who lived in South America and ate empanadas every day, these really took me back to my Paraguay days. The squash blossoms were light and perfectly fried. Unfortunately my friends had gone to Funke the night before so they were comparing the squash blossoms and Funke won out, but they still liked Dama's! Small plates were enough for the 3 of us. The service was quick and attentive. Parking was easy for us. I will definitely be back!

The staff are lovely humans who really seem to care about their customers. We have some faves on the menu. The bean dip is fabulous and I'm addicted to the baby gem salad. They have recently amped up the filling in the delicious crispy squash blossoms and I love the acidity and heat. The fish is also a hit in my books. One dish that doesn't work for me is the lamb chops, which is a shame since it's my favorite protein. I've ordered them multiple times with clear instructions on temperature and have found them overcooked and tough. The beef tostada was just ok. Whilst I loved the pickled veg on the side, the beef was underseasoned. It wasn't bad - just not up to the standard of other dishes. The vibe in the place is welcoming and the restaurant is nicely appointed. We will continue to be regulars and it's really worth trying if you haven't been yet.

Our server helped us choose a variety of dishes to share and everything was excellent. One person in our group has a nut allergy, and the staff was very accommodating in helping us find safe options. A note that many dishes, including their free chips at the start of the meal and the moles, contain nuts so it is best to mention any allergies right away. The restaurant has two sections. The front has a stage with live music and a lively, louder atmosphere. The back area is a bit quieter but just as nice. Food and service both top-notch. Will return.

Walking in you're shown many awards, culminating in a 2025 Michelin. There must have been a special occasion to be welcomed by music that was incredibly loud. We sat down, and I couldn't hear myself think, or the waiters voices. We asked for another table, but unfortunately that brought a certain type of attitude from the host. I'm sure the music would have been nice if it wasn't as loud, on amplified speakers. After finally being seated, near the bar, the service seemed great. Seating seemed plentiful, but I can now see why a reservation is necessary. To start, the appetizer we chose was a queso fundido which was ok on their smaller tortillas. I must have been spoiled by Chalio's homemade giant tortillas. Chalio's on Atlantic by the way. Guelageutza uses sautéed mushrooms, and they garnished it with this guacamole that didn't really taste that good. Mushrooms on the fundido didn't seem right, but individually they tasted great. The chorizo was ok. My gf likes to try those types of apps. They're not known for that, so I can let it pass. Our order was taken, food was quick, and hot. The attentiveness of the staff was good, but their smiles were absent. Must have had a long day. I got the black Mole chicken, my gf got the enchilada negras(black mole) topped with their tesajo. My dish was good, hot, and full of mole, which was delicious as well. They served it with their tiny homemade corn tortillas. They have several types of mole. My gf got the enchiladas Oaxaceñas and it looked good until I took a bite of the enchiladas. They just poured mole over the tortillas and that's where the flavor went flat. The tortillas were dry and not dipped in the sauce. Traditionally in my family, we fry our tortillas lightly in oil, or lard, and roll them in the sauce. My gf didn't even finish them. I ate all of my meal, and I took her enchiladas home. They were even worse as leftovers. I tried to order their traditional flan, but they had ran out, so I ordered their tres leches. It was ok. I was really disappointed that they ran out of flan though. All in all, this establishment was ok. The atmosphere seemed very manufactured, but I've never had the pleasure of visiting Oaxaca. The mole negro was delicious on the chicken. Seeing that It was recommended on Yelp, I agreed with the statement of picking that dish. The bathrooms were great with a good amount of stalls. I can't say that about a lot of good delicious Mexican food restaurants here in LA. They seem to be more of an afterthought with some. Reminding myself this was Michelin rated restaurant, I didn't get that same feeling with the food though. This now, will give me an excuse to look into why a restaurant is rated as such to understand why that matters so much.
