i've only seen the store while walking around sawtelle, and i thought the decor was very cute. i've been wanting to stop by for a while! i ordered this online for the first time and i expected to see a small portion like chipotle does for online orders. but the bowl was filled up, neatly organized and looked delicious! the ingredients were fresh. i really recommend the carne asada, tomatillo salsa and abuelita salsa. it really blends well together! i also got a horchata concha. the flavor is very strong, but on the smaller side. the food was ready for pickup almost 5 minutes after i ordered, so i appreciate the quick service! and they very generously gave me two free tortillas with the meal! read more

At 323, they offer great authentic Mexico food in a fast and very casual experience. It reminds me of great street food Tijuana. You put your own food together here and it is all great. You can build your own tacos, bowls, or plates right at the counter. They always have fresh, high-quality ingredients, handmade salsas, and The place is super cute, it is very clean and there are plenty of places to sit. The service is great. You just get your food and pay at the counter, tray in hand. We love their food. Their filet taco meat is so good as are all the items for tacos. We love their burritos and their tortillas are great. I've been eating Mexican food all my life, and so has my Mexican friend. We were in the neighborhood and decided to try this place. SO GREAT!!! The carne asada burrito was literally the perfect burrito, from the thin, fresh tortilla to the meat and choice of fillings. It was so big we split it and were full. Everything was FRESH and exceptionally delicious! And the chips and salsa--first you get a big bag of fresh tortilla chips that were warm and light and crisp and salty--honestly some of the best tortilla chips I've had anywhere! The restaurant is clean, the staff is nice, and there's even free parking under the building (a rarity on Sawtelle). Absolutely loved this place and will be returning! read more

The Baseline: For a Mexican fast casual restaurant the flavors of the food must make use of the prime Mexican ingredients (corn, beans, chiles, rice, cheese, and meats), preparation of sauces/salsas must be fresh, the meal portion size must make me feel full, and service must be efficient. Food: Pretty solid flavors for the Carnitas bowl I bought here. The carnitas was well seasoned and the melted fat was mixed into the shredded meat. The beans, veggies, and chilis were well integrated into the bowl. It was also well priced at a little under 11 dollars for the portion I got. Service: Good service and friendly when I ordered. Made sure to offer me salsa and other items. Ambiance: Clean fast casual seating and the restaurant is new/clean/organized. read more

I'm really really sorry to write this review, but I thought this restaurant was almost inedible. The concept and flavors look good, but the taste and freshness were seriously lacking. It's kind of like going to Chipotle with a build your own type situation. I think the options were bowl, taco, burrito, or baked potato. I tried the baked potato. I chose carnitas as my protein and it was so dry and had such an off putting taste it was completely inedible to me. It tasted almost like freezer burn to me. The fresh toppings area did not look very fresh and there was a fly buzzing around, which made it look very unappetizing. Majority of the cilantro was browned. I decided to get some corn and pico de gallo. Also got the salsa verde. I ended up picking all the meat off my potato and ate it with the corn, pico, and salsa. I think the only thing that was good was the salsa. My husband got a carne asada burrito and I tried a bite of the meat and also thought it tasted terrible and like a mix of freezer burn and some sort of artificial smoke type flavor. I'm honestly surprised this place has such positive reviews. Maybe it has fresher ingredients for the weekday lunch crowd in the area. read more

Since I had to return to office, I decided to go explore the new eateries and I am so glad Tres Dos Tres was one of the first places I visited. The restaurant is essentially a more gourmet Chipotle (or as owner Adrian Gonzalez told me a 'more Mexican Chipotle') and I say that as a point of praise. All of the ingredients were extremely flavorful and portioned out wonderfully. My burrito was bursting at the seams. I had a hard time deciding what meat I wanted to get so I was very happy to hear that you can do half & half if you want. It really lets you try more on a single visit. The interior is warm and inviting. It's very clean and 'hip' in all the right ways. It is a bit small, but most eateries in this area are. You can tell this is meant mostly to cater to people grabbing food to go. But, if you do choose to eat here, there are very nice tables to enjoy your meal. Staff was wonderful. They were happy to answer any questions we had and seemed to take pride in making our meals. I did, however, feel bad for the workers in the back. You could tell they were still working out their ventilation because a lot of the smoke from the grills were wafting all the way in to the main eating area. It made the whole place smell amazing, but it meant that the kitchen was just full of smoke. That couldn't be good for the chefs. In all, I will absolutely be coming back here for future lunches. And I am always telling coworkers that they gotta check it out for themselves. read more

Some are saying this is worse than Chipotle? Absolutely not. While the concept is the same, 323 is definitely better. The burritos are huge, everything is fresh, service is friendly, and you're definitely gonna be stuffed. I got a burrito and by recommendation from the employee I got the pork since it was freshly made and juicy. And while it definitely was, I wish I got carne asada since that's what I was actually in the mood for. Thankfully I got a carne asada taco on the side to try that out, and it was definitely good. I was gonna happily say guacamole doesn't even cost extra here, but I just checked my receipt and it does. $2.40 for guac on the burrito, $1.20 on the taco. But they won't give you a heads up when you other, something to keep in mind. Overall, I wasn't sure what to expect coming in, but it definitely better than my expectations, and I would come back. While it might not be the best place to get tacos in LA, it's still really good, and better than any franchise burrito spot. read more

Overall - 9/10 - I came for the grand opening deal on Friday, where everything was $3 this weekend. The store was similar to Chipotle, but it had a more wonderful flavor compared to Chipotle. The food place has ample seating and was pretty empty when I visited because it was the day before their grand opening. The service was quick and the staff was very attentive and answered all my questions. Food - I got a Carne Asada bowl with most of the toppings. The staff were nice and were able to walk me through all the different options. For the bowls, burritos, and tacos, they were a build-your-own style. You would start with your grains & beans, meats, a wide selection of your typical Chipotle-style bowl toppings, and a larger selection of salsa. The salsa bar reminded me of the salsa bars in the Mexican restaurants. The salsas all tasted very fresh & I liked the mild tomato salsa. For the bowl, the size was decent, and they had a lot of wonderful toppings to choose from. They had a wonderful selection of salsa to pair with your bowl. I always enjoy the green salsa, and the tomato salsa was also wonderful. The meat had a wonderful flavor, and it paired well with the salsa, and the Chipotle sauce was a good complement for the bowl. Overall experience - I loved the experience of the food and the build-your-own experience at the food place. I feel that it is a similar price to other fast-casual Mexican places with a similar bowl/burrito/taco experience. Came here since I was already in the complex for something else. I was intrigued by the concept - Chipotle-esque where you choose your base grain, your protein, your garnishes and your sauces. I noticed that they had a Taco Tuesday deal - three tacos for less than $10, which is a great deal for lunch! Tijuana-style! I ended up getting that offer, and you can mix and match the different proteins. I opted for one carne asada and 2 adobada. I think that they mixed it up and gave me to carne asadas. I appreciated that they were suuuuper generous with the guacamole. However, I found both meats to be a bit lackluster - a bit dry and lacking in flavor. I think that the salsas are what give it the flavor. The server was patient with my questions about the different salsas and made an awesome recommendation for the carrot salsa. I work near 323 so it's a good place to get lunch without breaking the bank! Workers are friendly. There are a few options like tacos, burrito, potato, or bowls I usually get the bowls and they range from $10-13 (unless you want filet mignon which is like $18). The proteins are pretty good and I absolutely love the Mexican rice and large salsa options here! Tomatillo is my favorite and I always ask for extra on the side. They have indoor and outdoor seating, I'd recommend the outdoor seating if you have a small group and it's nice outside because the inside can get a little smoky sometimes. I had a very disappointing experience at this location because of one employee's behavior. Unfortunately, I didn't get her name because she had her back turned to me for most of the interaction, and I wasn't able to see whether she was wearing a name tag. While taking my order, she asked if I wanted corn or flour tortillas. I took a brief moment to answer, and when I responded, she turned away and rolled her eyes. Throughout the interaction, she came across as impatient, rude, and dismissive, which made me feel unwelcome. I understand that working in the fast food industry can be stressful, but customers should still be treated with courtesy and respect. We ordered an asada and a adobada taco. Both meats were tasty! The brown beans were really good, and the rice was nice too. The only issue is the freshly made tortillas fell apart right away--didn't even get one bite before they split. The two guys working the counter were really friendly and helpful in explaining choices! Inside has a pretty mural; seating is typical fast food tables. We plan on going back to try more! Baseball Season is starting. Dave Roberts is part owner, 4 of us were celebrating my birthday and we thought we'd take the 35 minute drive to 323 and celebrate. We walked in, the decor is minimalistic. No Dodgers anything. No photos. Very clean. We took a moment to read the menu on the wall. Nothing unique. The food: Lined up in metal containers. The meat & rice looked dry and they were. The rice was dry and the beans were straight out of a can. No creativity at all. I had the taco plate, 2 tacos,dry rice and canned beans &a 16oz drink for just shy of $17 dollars. The food itself is solid for what it is (kind of like an elevated Chipotle) and I don't want to knock that at all. Unfortunately, the service really missed the mark this time. The middle-aged guy with the ponytail who was making my bowl had an attitude throughout the entire interaction for no apparent reason. He repeatedly asked me to repeat myself, and when I asked him to repeat which salsa he was offering, his tone was very condescending and passive-aggressive. The whole encounter was off-putting enough that it completely killed the excitement I had for this place. If management sees this, I hope you can provide some feedback or retraining, because the food has potential--but experiences like this make it hard to want to come back. read more
