The hype I heard about this place was not it. Mac & Cheese isn't good, personally. Quite frankly it was disgusting.

To be honest, I wasn't sure what to expect when we came here. I have a special place in my heart for mac & cheese, though, so I wanted to give it a shot. We LOVED it & have been looking forward to going back again (we live fairly far away, so it's not a place we'll be able to frequent). In case you aren't familiar with the concept, it's basically traditional mac & cheese with creative toppings. We had the Chili Cheese (Chili, Colby Jack & Fritos - MAN was it good) & one with chicken in it (Chik Chik, I think). We really enjoyed it. The only thing I wished for was a few more Fritos. We both got the personal size, and it was plenty for 1 person. We went on a weeknight before a concert at the Toyota Center & it wasn't crowded at all. Only a couple of the tables were taken. I'm not sure what it's like on the weekends. All in all, I think it depends on what you order. If you're a mac and cheese traditionalist, move along, but if you're up for trying new things, it's worth a shot! read more

The named ones have themes and will taste like a buffalo wing or blue cheese, etc. There's also a portion of the menu where you can build your own and create your own results. The personal sized bowls although look small at the beginning seem to be plenty. If you're looking for a hearty thick meal to combat some terrible winter that just blew in, or to gain a few pounds for that upcoming weigh in, this is your spot. Interior was very laid back and leaning to the hipster side of things. Great for lunch if it's a sleepy day. It was good but just wasn't amazing. I wouldn't drive out of my way to stuff my face or insist the lunch group heads here every week. It is, after all, still mac n cheese with other stuff thrown in. Although they specialize in mac & cheese, they do have other menu items that look to be just as good. For my first time here, I tried the Bacon Bliss (Bacon with Gruyere cheese sauce topped with Mozzarella). It came out pretty quick and was very hot and delicious. The cheese was just the right consistency that I prefer and it wasn't overly runny. It's even more perfect after it's cooled down and dried a bit. The Bacon Bliss had chopped up pieces of bacon throughout and I had bacon in every bite, so they're definitely not stingy with the bacon. The other menu items look just as delicious, so it will give me a reason to go back and try the others. The restaurant itself is very clean, small, and cozy, so I can't imagine how crowded it could be during peak times. The parking lot is also very small, so that could potentially be an issue if you go when it's busy. Overall I enjoyed my meal and the ambiance of the restaurant. My only reason for not giving them the extra star is that I find it a little expensive for mac & cheese. It's good, but for upwards of $8.50 for anything other than plain mac & cheese, it isn't really that cheap for something that you know shouldn't cost that much to make. We all know how much macaroni pasta is at the grocery store. Cheese can get expensive, but if you're buying the stuff in bulk, it shouldn't be that expensive. read more

We came here on a Sunday around 12 and was expecting it to be not so crowded since it opens right at 12 but boy was I wrong. The restaurant and the parking lot is pretty small so that explains why its always so crowded. We ended up ordering to go so we didn't have to fight for a table. I highly recommend the special they have right now its called the "hang over". It has harsh brown on the bottom, guacamole and a fried egg on top of the pasta. SO GOOD! My bf got the buffalo chicken and that wasn't that great, just did not par up to the hungover. I think we didn't like the kind of cheese that was in it. read more

I asked the guy at the counter if he'd help me choose if I narrowed it down to 3. I chose the Quattro (4 cheeses), the poblano pepper, or the one with hot dogs in it. He suggested I combine all 3 flavors and I thought that was a pretty amazing idea. Quattro with poblanos and hot dogs! Heck yea! It was truly delicious. So cheesy and gooey and served in its own little skillet. I've gotten my fill of carbs for a while, but I will definitely go back. Our friend told us about this place and we were passing by and had to go in and give it a try! Man The name says it all just mac and cheese!! A childhood favorite! I came here for dinner during the week, when the parking is not bad and the line to order is non-existent. I went with the rustic mac and cheese (tomatoes, basil, garlic) and my husband had the cheeseburger mac and cheese (ground beef, onion). My mac and cheese was pretty good in terms of taste--I could taste fresh garlic. They were a little light on the toppings, but I kind of expected that. It was a bit different consistency than I am used to...for example, the cheese was actually a little stringy instead of really creamy and melted. My husband's cheeseburger mac and cheese was all right...a little too oniony for my taste, and lacking in the ground beef. I think the personal size mac & cheese is filling...it looks itty bitty in the skillet, but it's so rich, I think it's enough for one person. This is definitely a place I'd check out again, as there were other combos (like the buffalo chicken) that caught my interest. Definitely the spot to go if you are craving mac & cheese, and probably not if you are not a fan. Bulk of the menu is a play on mac & cheese, with a few panini options and appetizers. I do appreciate the variations they have come up with, and I would be interested in going back to try out the other ones. Here's what we got: 1) Goat Cheese ($10.95) - very goaty, not much tomatoes though. 2) Buffalo Chicken ($10.10) - the hot sauce was a very nice touch because it helped to cut through all the cheesy richness. This was probably one of the few dishes that offered a bit more nutritional value because of the celery and carrot sticks... 3) Chik Chik ($9.25) - a very basic mac&cheese with chicken, not much basil there. Overall they were indeed rich and creamy. Definitely get the bread crumbs on top. We originally ordered the whole grain mac, but they ended up giving us the plain. We didn't really remember about it until we were half way through, and that was already too late =( I would recommend the regular portions over the personal, unless you are feeling super duper guilty about cheesing out. There is not much parking so there is a good chance you would have to go to the lot across the street. Another downside is that the prices are a bit more expensive than expected. An update, they opened one in midtown right down the street from my office. I tried have tried 3 more different dishes all very good. Ranked 1-3...The Big Easy...so much flavor, then the Popeye with chicken added another flavorful dish and I also tried the friday special which is crab mac which is good also, but no where close to as flavorful as the previous 2. Love this place!!! I don't know why this was never thought of before, a place that mainly serves mac and cheese. Any order can be made to your preference, if the item doesn't normally come with chicken you can just request it to be added, which is great. It is a bit easy to miss and parking is a bit difficult though there closed businesses at night time across the street to park at. Enjoyed the spinach mac with chicken added. read more

Wow....just wow. I never thought of a concept of serving just different styles of mac and cheese, but here it is in all its glory. The building looks run down, but its not. The parkings in the back which is something we are not really used to in this side of town, but its not bad. I would get the a different meal than the person your with so you can take each others dish because there are a few options I cant wait to try. I got "the hangover" which is going to be hard to beat the next time I go..its hash browns with mac n cheese, pico de gallo type stuff on top and a fried egg. Yes, a fried egg. When you break that yolk and it goozes all over the noodles..it sounds gross, but its amazing. The creamy textures of both combine to give a ultra luxe, ultra rich taste that is hard to achieve. From something so simple to magnificent, I hope to be back soon, and hungry. I tried some of my friends "quad" (or something like that...four cheeses) and I didn't like it as much as mine, but then again she didn't like mine as much as hers. At first it seems like a expensive meal because it IS just mac n cheese, but once you eat it, it is worth it, but its also very heavy. Food choices are unique and have lots if flavor. Prices are little high for the portion size but the food is worth it for the enormous flavor. Location is small and a bit noisy at lunch time. They have bottled drinks, beer, and fountain drinks. Parking is in the back but fills up quickly. Worth a stop for some unique flavor. read more

Based on some of the other Yelp reviews I must have gone at a pretty decent time because there really was no crowd or long lines. I had the quattro and I got the bigger portion even though I was eating it alone. I had the salad which strangely enough only has three dressing options, a lemon dressing, bleu cheese and I can't remember what the third was but all I wanted was an Italian option. I chose a pretty generic Mac 'n cheese option because I figured if they couldn't get the basics right then I'd rather know before I tried something more adventurous. The option I chose had four different cheeses, and I chose the bread topping. It's incredibly rich, but really tasty.
