I was really excited to try this place since the food looked very healthy. Unfortunately, the order I picked up and experience was sub par. The lady working must have had a bad day because she was very rude and chastised me for recycling my soup cup in the only recycling bin at the restaurant. Evidently customers are not allowed to recycle in the only bin available. It was a very weird and aggressive reaction. Though I'm a general omnivore, I definitely am pretty familiar with dietary restrictions, but I find myself frequently let down by stuff that slaps "gluten free" on the label of something that tastes rather like cardboard, or something that is billed as vegan haute cuisine and just turns out to some sort of unimaginative assortment of raw vegetables. So, I was skeptical when my friend demanded that we go to this place and this place alone because of her dietary stuff. But they appear to be the real deal. We got a random assortment of things, since we were coming from an open bar wedding event and were all at horribly disparate levels of hungry. Green chili was awesome. Didn't have the burger but it looked great, too. Only downsides are that the menu isn't terribly expansive, so if you're looking for variety, you are less likely to find it-- that and I wasn't a huge fan of the atmosphere, which is sort of like a beachside ice cream parlor and not like a cozy spot where I could enjoy a burger and a beer or a salad and a tea or whatever. read more

Just BE Kitchen is my go-to takeout place in Denver. For breakfast, I usually go with the Simplicity (get the biscuit and sausage!) or the Fulfilled (breakfast burrito). My favorite coffee drink in the entire world is their Vanilla Sea Salt Latte. For dinner I've gotten the Crave (burger), the Embrace (hot pocket) and the Envy (beef & broccoli). Everything I've had is delicious and I love that it's so healthy! The price is really great too considering the quality of product and everything down to the condiments and bread are homemade. Definitely recommend! I also want to mention that they offer their own delivery through their website if you're within a 5 mile radius. Uber Eats and other delivery services take up to 30% of revenues! To help these amazing restaurants during covid, we should all try our best to make sure they're getting all they can rather than helping irresponsible corporate giants like Uber. :) read more

Definitely tasted gluten-free and was louder than a bar on Saturday night. Heard about this place from local foodies that said they had great gluten free options. Since it looked like a cool place and my wife recently uncovered a gluten sensitivity we decided to give it a shot. I got the Crave Burger and my wife got the Breakfast Burrito. I haven't had the pleasure of trying many gluten-free breads or tortillas but i got exactly what i was expecting at JustBe. Somewhat bland and crumbly. Also, the sweet potato hash was charred... probably wasn't caught by our server because it was wrapped inside of the breakfast burrito. Our lunch was over $30 for just two entrees - we passed up the drinks. I expected paying a premium for the gluten free product, but thought this was overpriced for the portion size. Lastly, the noise level in the restaurant is over the top. I don't feel as though any particular person or group was being especially loud, yet my wife and I couldn't even carry on a conversation without leaning across the table and saying "What?". I will say that the beef had good flavor on the burger and everything inside the burrito was good. I would just order something that doesn't have bread to begin with if coming back here again. read more

For a variety of reasons both my wife and I have found our general health and well being is greatly helped by avoiding grains, soy and legumes. We've been to accommodating restaurants in the past where we usually have a handful of choices. This is the first restaurant we've been to where we could order anything off the menu. It felt completely liberating! Not only was there a wide variety of tasty looking foods. The stuff we ordered was delicious and we shared the meal with our 21 year old son who gladly took the leftovers. Chocolate chip cookie 10/10 Sweet, moist and chewy (which can be difficult to achieve with grain free flours) Chocolate coconut cookie 9/10 Crumbly but delicious with a wonderful dark chocolate taste Lemon poppyseed muffin 7/10 Moist and tasty, but the cookies were better Breakfast burrito 10/10 The first grain free tortilla I've had that had the taste and texture of a good flour tortilla. Delicious and deceptively filling. Wonder 10/10 My wife enjoyed this bowl which is a bit difficult to describe but delicious. Included in the dish was whipped sweet potatoes, almonds, veggies and egg. Biscuits and gravy 9/10 My son's choice. My limited sampling had the taste and textures of homemade biscuits and gravy though the biscuits look a bit more like scoops of ice cream than biscuits. Iced Vanilla Sea Salt Coconut Milk Latte 10/10 Better than Starbucks or Peet's and as good an iced latte as I've had at better coffee places. And better than any of those places manage to do it with coconut milk. Let me start off by saying I order catering meals professionally. I typically order catering 20 times a month for my work, all over the country, for the past 4 years. This is my worst catering experience ever. At first I was concerned because just figuring out what the meal was exactly was extremely confusing. (Wonder = hash, I forget the weird names they had for salads, biscuits, etc) but I looked past it in hopes the food would be good + I always support local businesses. The caterer arrived and 1. Told me she didn't have plates for my order because she spilled coffee all over them. And it's been "one of those days". I made clear that I would need plates, napkins, silverware,etc when I placed the order (my work travels, and we don't have anything). The caterer suggest I use take out plastic boxes..... not what I want to hear when I paid $300 for a meal for 16. They did bring me exactly 16 individually wrapped cutlery (let's hope no body drops!) , but no serving utensils. So I didn't have enough silverware for my group. So the meal I paid $300 for I was scrambling to find a way for my crew to eat it. Let's more on to the food. When I first started speaking to Jennifer I told her I was concerned with making sure there was enough food for my group of 15. The morning of the event I also called the restaurant to make sure there would be enough. I was assured there would be.. There wasn't enough. They gave me a lot of salad, and a lot of the hummus, everything else was bare. I got exactly 15 pieces of chicken for 16 people. The caterer who delivered (Sara) argued with me at drop off on how many people I ordered for (15 vs 16). What I ended up doing is opening one of the little plastic knives in the utensil kit, and cutting all the chicken into smaller pieces to try and make it stretch further. The food was meh. The salad, hummus and broccoli bake we got were really good. The small piece of chicken my group got was dry. And the biscuits were inedible (seriously gross). And there was a mystery container of yellow - we still don't know what it was - hard paste. I think the worst part of the whole experience is how the drop off caterer (Sara) completely passed responsibility to others. Not her fault we didn't have plates, not her fault she didn't know I was concerned about portion, not her fault we didn't have utensils. I emailed Jennifer and finally got a response today with the same attitude. She was "out of town" so not her fault. What they are basically saying is it's my fault that I didn't read the contract that says they don't provide plates - weird since they told me they would - (I could have easily stopped by the store and picked some up, if the caterer didn't tell me they were bringing them) also its my fault that they mixed the veggies with the chicken (which I also asked a month ago if they wouldn't). Also somehow my fault that they didn't get the message I was concerned about portion (hey I would have just ordered more). All in all, way more hassle then worth it. The food was "okay", small portions, and really shitty customer service. AVOID. read more

From Bone broth to sweet potatoes and even their Golden Milk. I did try their green chili and that was a bit different so make sure you know what you're ordering! I eat mostly grain free and after hearing nothing but good things, was excited to try this place on my last trip to denver. Unfortunately I left very underwhelmed. I ordered the Simplicity with eggs over medium, veggies and biscuits. One egg was broken and the yoke was cooked, the sweet potato "hash" was just some sweet potato noodles (without the extra veggies I ordered, I'd have been pretty upset) and one of my two biscuits was too undercooked to eat. Last week I met a woman in a coffee shop who told me about Just Be Kitchen. I had never been there before so naturally I had to pop in this weekend to check out what all the hype is about. One of the first things I noticed about this place was a sign on the front door that said "we're open and excited to nourish you". Ok, that's cool! When you walk in and order they ask "How can we nourish you today?" Again, very cool of them. Upon walking into this place I was honestly surprised that I had never been here before. It was totally a Stephanie place. The walls have all these inspirational quotes painted on them and outlined in picture frames. The vibe was very LA in Denver. I was like, ok, this is a new favorite spot of mine! They have great decor and a seating area with decent natural light. Decor wise they go for this kind of rustic but homey and glam feel. I approve. Their menu is pretty big. Just Be is great for those who are eating a Whole 30 Diet, they even advertise it when you walk in. Everything is paleo. Everything is gluten free. For vegans, you just have to keep an eye out for anything that has a V next to it, or VO for Vegan Option. If you're not sure exactly what you can order given your special diet, always feel free to ask the person who takes your order before you sit down. I order the Wonder bowl as a vegan option (so basically that means, no egg added on top). It came in a HUGE bowl but there really wasn't that much food in it. For a hash, it was pretty tasty though. Definitely nourishing, with sweet potatoes and brussel sprouts and mushrooms. There was this tasty green paste along the bowl which added a bit of flavor to the bowl. They also had a huge vegan cookie that was also gluten-free, which I naturally devoured in 20 seconds. Definitely could have gone for another. They also carry Dram sparkling waters, so, that gives them another plus in my book. They have a full fledged coffee bar on one side of their menu, as well. So definitely a great spot to get your caffeine fix if you're into that. Overall I would say this is a great spot to visit if you're a celiac and have to eat gluten free, since everything on the menu is prepared that way. When you walk in, you never have to worry about asking for the option, which is probably nice given that you don't have that luxury in other Denver restaurants. Word to the wise: Parking is a bitch in this part of town. The building is right behind REI, so you may be able to snag a free spot there. Otherwise I'd recommend street parking either on Platte River Drive or 15th. But those also fill up fast. There are garages and lots in the area you can also utilize, but they are going to cost you. It's pretty easy to walk or take a scooter down to this part of town. So plan accordingly. read more

This is a place across the street from our apartment , and each time we pass by it, my boyfriend and I always said, "we should try this place and support local business!" Given it's super cute and kitschy interior, we finally gave it a try the other day. Now I can always appreciate a restaurant that does health food in a delicious way. However, I still hold these typical "healthy" restaurants to the same standard as a "regular" restaurant. Unfortunately, as much as I wanted to like this place, it just completely fell short of my expectations. I don't understand why people think it's amazing. I had the biscuits and mushroom gravy (the hunger) and my boyfriend had the 2 eggs dish (the simplicity). Mine was slightly cold. The biscuits, being gluten free, were extremely dry. My boyfriend's dish had sweet potato hash browns which were also cold and a bit flavorless...some spices could've gone a long way. I might give it a second chance because everyone keeps raving about it and maybe it was just an "off day" for the restaurant. The sayings on the wall when you walk in we're a real treat. Made me smile right away. The staff was helpful in ordering. Giving 5 stars based on customer service alone. We didn't get to eat because we brought a dog that we were sitting (who has some pretty bad separation anxiety) and were forced into an awkward position by a health inspector who complained to management and wanted us to sit elsewhere. The patio, while cozy, is too small for everyone plus an dog. Instead of dealing with it we just decided to leave. The manager went out of her way to accommodate us and to make the situation better. Ultimately it wasn't her fault at all, but she did everything to help and we really appreciated that. We will definitely be back without the dog and if the food is anything like the customer service then we are in for a treat. UPDATE: Went back for the food a week later. Food is good. I have celiac disease so there are few safe places to eat. Service is rude, no wonder they force you to tip 15% or their employees would not make much. Even when you order takeout and choose not to tip, they make you tip 15% without your consent and will add it to the bill without a word. The food is okay - nothing too special. Watch out for the Whole30 Menu. My son ordered a hamburger from that menu and for $13 we got a hamburger patty with 2 pieces of bacon. When I called, I was told this was because the Whole30 Menu is different. It wasn't labeled on the menu we were looking at (GrubHub). Just be careful! My deconstructed egg roll was simply the inside of an egg roll. It was okay but it came with nothing else so it felt heavy and incomplete. Daughter who is gf/df was so excited to try this restaurant but wound up not eating her chicken and dumplings because the broth was too spicy. She did enjoy her tortilla though. Overall, disappointing. Additionally, for some reason Grub hub added a $5 third-party fee to our order even though we went to pick it up but honestly that could have been our oversight not having used Grub Hub too often before. If you do choose to go here, I would recommend calling them directly to avoid any unintentional confusion and we wouldn't suggest this as a family place since our kids really didn't enjoy their food. P.S. When I called to talk to them about these issues, the woman was kind and took time to explain.
